  • Can I load a UIImage from a URL?

    I have a URL for an image (got it from UIImagePickerController) but I no longer have the image in memory (the URL was saved from a previous run of the app). Can I reload the UIImage from the URL again? I see that UIImage has a imageWithContentsOfFile: but I have a URL. Can I use NSData's dataWithContentsOfURL: to read the URL? EDIT based on @Daniel's answer I tried the following code but it doesn't work... Any ideas why my NSString (photoURL's address is 0x536fbe0) doesn't respond to length? Why does it say it doesn't respond to -[NSURL length]? Doesn't it know that param is an NSString, not a NSURL?

    Hello Everyone, i have following two routes registered in my global.asax file routes.MapRoute( "strict", "{controller}.mvc/{docid}/{action}/{id}", new { action = "Index", id = "", docid = "" }, new { docid = @"\d+"} ); routes.MapRoute( "default", "{controller}.mvc/{action}/{id}", new { action = "Index", id = "" }, new { docConstraint = new DocumentConstraint() } ); and i have a static "dashboard" link in my tabstrip and some other links that are constructed from values in db here is the code <ul id="globalnav" class = "t-reset t-tabstrip-items"> <li class="bar" id = "dashboard"> <%=Html.ActionLink("dash.board", "Index", pck.Controller, new{docid =string.Empty,id = pck.PkgID }, new { @class = "here" })%> </li> <% foreach (var md in pck.sysModules) { %> <li class="<%=liClass%>"> <%=Html.ActionLink(md.ModuleName, md.ActionName, pck.Controller, new { docid = md.DocumentID}, new { @class = cls })%> </li> <% } %> </ul> Now my launching address is localhost/oa.mvc/index/11 clearly matching the 2nd route. but when i visit any page that has mapped to first route and then come back to dash.board link it shows me localhost/oa.mvc/7/index/11 where 7 is docid and picked from previous Url. now i understand that my action method is after docid and changing it would not clear the docid. my question here is that can i remove docid in this scenario without changing the route. regards adeel

    I have a PHP MVC framework I've built from scratch which uses the traditional domain.com/controller/action URL routing. While I'm currently handling the below conversion in the router I'd like to replace them in the URL for cosmetic reasons. For example: controller/action?filter=bank Becomes: controller/action/filter/bank I've done a bit of experimentation with a regex but can't seem to find a match. I'm also not sure how to rewrite it using RewriteCond. Thanks in advance.

  • Aop, Unity, Interceptors and ASP.NET MVC Controller Action Methods

    Using log4net we would like to log all calls to our ASP.NET MVC controller action methods. The logs should include information about any parameters that were passed to the controller. Rather than hand-coding this in each action method we hope to use an AoP approach with Interceptors via Unity. We already have this working with some other classes that use interfaces (using the InterfaceInterceptor). However, we're not sure how to proceed with our controllers. Should we re-work them slightly to use an interface, or is there a simpler approach? Edit The VirtualMethodInterceptor seems to be the correct approach, however using this results in the following exception: System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null.     I have a default package w/ an interceptor configure, and i'm extending that package into another one and calling the same interceptor <action name="availability**"> <param name="subTab">availability</param> <interceptor-ref name="tabStack"/> <result>/WEB-INF/jsp/index.jsp?include=visibilit/availability.jsp</result> </action> The problem is that the param is not being read inside my interceptor code: Map params = invocation.getInvocationContext().getParameters(); subTab = params.get("subTab").toString(); //NULL exception Any idea how i can pass parameters to extended interceptors?     Hi, In my application I have a frame, with toolbar (the toolbar contains some actions). I want the toolbar to be visible only when the window is focused. So, I registered a windowFocusListener on the window. The problem is- when the window is not focused and I click on the place where a tool bar action should be- the action is performed. This happens because the WindowFocusGained is called before the mouse button is released and when the mouse button released it calls the actionPerformed. Does anybody has any idea for a work around for this problem? Does anybody know how to determine wether the mouse button is clicked now?

    I've been googling around and I can't seem to find anything which explains the use of ZF router well. I've read the documentation on the site, which seems to only talk about re-routing. I am trying to make the format: /module/value/controller/action give /module/controller/action passing on value as a parameter e.g. /store/johnsmithbigsale/home/newstuff would route to /store/home/newstuff passing on johnsmithbigsale as the value to a parameter with a hidden namespace e.g. storeName. Some help would be greatful!

  • Automatically hyper-link URL's and Email's using C#, whilst leaving bespoke tags in place

    I have a site that enables users to post messages to a forum. At present, if a user types a web address or email address and posts it, it's treated the same as any other piece of text. There are tools that enable the user to supply hyper-linked web and email addresses (via some bespoke tags/markup) - these are sometimes used, but not always. In addition, a bespoke 'Image' tag can also be used to reference images that are hosted on the web. My objective is to both cater for those that use these existing tools to generate hyper-linked addresses, but to also cater for those that simply type a web or email address in, and to then automatically convert this to a hyper-linked address for them (as soon as they submit their post). I've found one or two regular expressions that convert a plain string web or email address, however, I obviously don't want to perform any manipulation on addresses that are already being handled via the sites bespoke tagging, and that's where I'm stuck - how to EXCLUDE any web or email addresses that are already catered for via the bespoke tagging - I wan't to leave them as is. Here are some examples of bespoke tagging for the variations that I need to be left alone: [URL=www.msn.com]www.msn.com[/URL] [URL=http://www.msn.com]http://www.msn.com[/URL] [[email protected]][email protected][/EMAIL] [IMG]www.msn.com/images/test.jpg[/IMG] [IMG]http://www.msn.com/images/test.jpg[/IMG] The following examples would however ideally need to be automatically converted into web & email links respectively: www.msn.com http://www.msn.com [email protected] Ideally, the 'converted' links would just have the appropriate bespoke tags applied to them as per the initial examples earlier in this post, so rather than: <a href="..." etc. they'd become: [URL=http://www.. etc.) Unfortunately, we have a LOT of historic data stored with this bespoke tagging throughout, so for now, we'd like to retain that rather than implementing an entirely new way of storing our users posts. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I want to prevent people at the earliest possible point from submitting too large URL parameters so the server doesn't get taxed more than necessary in the event that somebody tries to "attack" it with large invalid URL parameters.

    HI, I am using activeXMediaPlayer to play files from url but each time I pass a url to it shows the message , "either the file is corrupted or player does not support the file format u are playing." But when i run the same url on browser the file is downloaded and this downloaded file can be played on the media player. I am not able to find out what the problem is . Because the same cod plays the local file and the downloaded files but not file from url Although the same code worked few months ago for the urls So is this my fault or some server related issues can affect this thing. Update: This problem occurs when the url is mysite.com/post23 but when url is mysite.com/staticpage or mysite.com there are no problems Any workarounds? EDIT: It looks like a bug, it doesn't work with certain url in the same site I wil try and report it to Facebook.

  • WIX: Using a temporary file during install

    Hello! I am writing a WIX installer and I have a following requirement: During installation, I need to pass an absolute path to a file (lets call it A) included in my installer to a COM component, which already exists on the hard drive and is a part of another program. I have already written an appropriate Custom Action which expects a path to the file A. I don't want to include A as a file installed in the Program Files folder and removed during the uninstallation process. Instead, I would like to put A only temporary on the hard drive, call my Custom Action which will cause the COM component to use the content of A, and then remove A from disk. Is there an easy way to accomplish this goal? I have tried to utilize the Binary Table and store A there, however I don't know how to reference A using absolute path. I know I could put A outside of MSI file but I would like to keep every file installer needs in a single MSI. Any help would be appreciated.

The request url looks something like: http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/username/uploads with 'username' being the correct username. This bring back the appropriate url in the browser.
