• Handle existing instance of root activity when launching root activity again from intent filter

  Hi, I'm having difficulties handling multiple instances of my root (main) activity for my application. My app in question has an intent filter in place to launch my application when opening an email attatchment from the "Email" app. My problem is if I launch my application first through the the android applications screen and then launch my application via opening the Email attachment it creates two instances of my root activity. steps: Launch root activity A, press home Open email attachment, intent filter triggers launches root activity A Is it possible when opening the Email attachment that when the OS tries to launch my application it detects there is already an instance of it running and use that or remove/clear that instance?

• DBD::CSV: How can I generate different behavior with the two f_ext-options ".csv" and ".csv/r"?

  This is from the DBD::File-documentation: f_ext This attribute is used for setting the file extension where (CSV) files are opened. There are several possibilities. DBI:CSV:f_dir=data;f_ext=.csv In this case, DBD::File will open only table.csv if both table.csv and table exist in the datadir. The table will still be named table. If your datadir has files with extensions, and you do not pass this attribute, your table is named table.csv, which is probably not what you wanted. The extension is always case-insensitive. The table names are not. DBI:CSV:f_dir=data;f_ext=.csv/r In this case the extension is required, and all filenames that do not match are ignored. It was not possible for me to generate different behavior with the two options ".csv/r" and ".csv". Could someone show me an example, where I can see the difference between ".csv/r" and ".csv"?

  I'm looking for a fast, embeddable key/value store with cursor semantics over key collections (or a simple embeddable DB) that I can use in .NET and mono. Need it to be open-source, would prefer an MIT or Apache style license over a GPL license. Not opposed to a library that needs bindings to be written, as long as binaries are available for both windows and linux. Options considered: SQLite - has bindings and native implementation, but single-threaded and not all that fast Embedded InnoDB - no .NET bindings i can find and it's GPLv2 Berkley DB - no .NET bindings i can find Tokyo Cabinet - no .NET bindings i can find and problematic to build on windows MadCow Memory-mapped data structures - GPLv2 Is there an option better than the above that i'm missing, or bindings for the above i don't know about?

• IOException reading a large file from a UNC path into a byte array using .NET

System.IO.IOException: Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested If I run this using a local path it works fine, in my test case the UNC path is actually pointing to the local box. Any thoughts what is going on here ?

  So I have binded a List to a ListView where the List has items of type Album, where it has lots of properties including .Cover, which I is an image on disk. Well since I don't know what type of image is needed and how they have to be loaded (I only know using Image types for Winforms), I don't know the type yet. Can someone show or post me a quick sample where it shows this sort of items being shown as images of a certain fixed size using their .Cover property? In essence this would show: What type .Cover should be How to open images from disk for WFP (assuming it's different than Winforms image loading) How to show them on a ListView as images of a certain fixed size, scaling the images if necessary

  Hello, I am developing a Silverlight client using the provided navigation template for an imageboard I developed. I have a "search" tab which lists all searches for tags which were executed. I also have a show post tab which shows (also in tab-form) posts, opened from the search tab. When I open a post from the search page, it instanciates a new control (of type UserControl) and inserts this into the ShowPost page's tabcontrol. When I switch (or get switched) to the Show Post view the layout is all messed up. The UserControl inside the tab does not stretch in the tab. When I switch tabs back and forth this is strangely fixed. The reason seems to be that the user control gets created there but has no layout to "fit to" until said layout is opened, which is too late then.   Pulling my hair out trying to debug this one. Earlier this morning, this code was working fine, and I can't see what I've changed to break it.   I am rebuilding my development machine. This issue is not new to me, but I don't remember the solution. I started with VS 2008 Pro, then SQL 2008 Developer, then the SQL SP1, then VS SP1. The result is that I cannot open SSIS projects (see the error below). • Associate mount points with local disks in VBscript / WMI

  I have a VBscript that outputs various config items about a system. Both hardware and software. I can output disks and their associated partitions. I can output mount points. I do not seem to be able to associate a mount point with a local disk (where it actually is a local disk). I need to be able to do this using VBscript, so as to fit in with the rest of the ~2000 lines of code. I do NOT want to run some other program graphically. I know the disk manager service can show me (My Computer - Manage - Disk Management), but this is not what I need. I need to be able to do this remotely via VBscript. I am open to running an .exe from the VBscript and piping the output back into VBscript and massaging it from there. Any idea's ? Thanks in advance.

• Return automatic download JQuery Ajax Call

  I use the Ajax JQuery command to call a PHP script that generates a CSV file and returns a link to that file for the user to download. I would like to make this more user friendly by automatically starting the download so the user sees the browsers "Save or Open" window instead of having to click the download link. I'm guessing I need to somehow change the headers in the Ajax success callback function?? I'm not really sure what I should be titling my searches or even if this is possible. Thanks!

  Hi, i am trying to create a Unit test for a WinForm in a Visual Studio 2010 project. I add a new "Coded UI Test" to my project, open up the code file, then right click and select "Generate Code for Coded UI Test" - "Use Coded UI Test builder". I then start my application up, select "Record" on the UI Map control. I run my tests (in this case simply select a textbox, type in a random value, them click a button). I then select "Generate Code" from the UI Map control which generates the code which the test will use. When running this test, i get the error: Test method HelloWorldTest.CodedUITest1.CodedUITestMethod1 threw exception: Microsoft.VisualStudio.TestTools.UITest.Extension.UITestControlNotFoundException: The playback failed to find the control with the given search properties. Additional Details: TechnologyName: 'MSAA' ControlType: 'Window' Name: 'Form1' ClassName: 'WindowsForms10.Window' --- System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component. Does anyone know where i am going wrong? Thanks

I have commented out destructor but still problem persists. SettingsWindow s; s.show(); What do I do wrong ?   I want to embed a custom c# windows form (or WPF) user control into an outlook view. I am using Outlook 2003 and Visual Studio 2008. I did download an example for Outlook 2007 here: http://blogs.msdn.com/e2eblog/archive/2008/01/09/outlook-folder-homepage-hosting-wpf-activex-and-windows-forms-controls.aspx and also here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa479345.aspx I tested it and under 2007 it is working, but for 2003 i am getting the following error when i want to open the view: Could not complete the operation due to error 80131509 I can start it from Visual Studio, it is registering the folder just fine, debugging works and all that. It creates an HTML page that contains my type as an object parameter - but the Initialize method that should be called is either not present (not shown via JS) or it has some errors. The breakpoints for RegisterSafeForScripting are also never hit - maybe related to that. Thx in advance!

• Can two Silverlight applications share IsolatedStorage on one machine?

  What identifies an application and when can two applications share IsolatedStorage if at all, i.e.: if I want to have two Silverlight applications share IsolatedStorage space, is this possible? What kind of "application id" do I need to give to do this? if I don't want two Silverlight applications to share IsolatedStorage, how do I prevent this? Do I need to do this? For instance, I've noticed when I develop a Silverlight application, I can press F5, in the application save to Isolated Storage, stop the application, press F5 again, and it reads from the same IsolatedStorage. (I would think that a new compilation would cause it to use new IsolatedStorage.) However, when I then copy the .xap and .html files to another directory and open the .html file, it does NOT share the IsolatedStorage with the application I was developing. What changed? What is going on behind the scenes here so I know when IsolatedStorage is shared and when it isn't?

  I have been asked to build an application where I can drag and drop few WebControls onto the WebPage designer surface. So far I have read some articles on .NET Framework Design-Time architecture, like, MSDN Article: Hosting WinForms Designers, Developer Function Article etc. But I can't a find a way to host WebForms designer. The only open source implementation that I could find was Mono Develop ASP.NET Visual Designer. But in mono they have used GTK# & Gecko etc to host the designer. I can't find a way to do the same using WinForms. Please suggest me what should I do. Give me some pointers. Should I go ahead and implement it using GTK# and Gecko? PS: My requirement is not very huge. I need just a way to drag and drop simple web controls and save the page.

  Hi, I'm creating a simple SDI app using the new VS2008 service pack. I added ribbon support but all I want on the ribbon are the Open & Close buttons. I commented out all the code that creates the other default buttons and categories but doing this also gets rid of the status bar (CMFCRibbonStatusBar). I can't find what member function is called when I click the checkbox that displays the statusbar in the default generated code. I've tried the following but it doesn't work: m_wndStatusBar.ShowWindow( SW_SHOWNORMAL ); How do I have the status bar showing without having to have the 'Home' category and 'View' panel (with the 'Show status bar' checkbox) being generated?   Hello! I am trying to create a slideshow like the one on this site: http://www.marthastewart.com/ However, I would like to use JavaScript and CSS instead of Flash. I would be super grateful for any suggestions on how to do this. I am currently using the InnerFade plugin, which works great for the slideshow part, but I can't figure out how to integrate the navigation; I'm not even sure where to start! :) I'm open to starting over from scratch and not using InnerFade.   Hi , I have a html form with the data by this post method 'form id='form1' name='form1' method='post' action='process.php'etc ' to a php page for processing into a mysql database . When the user has filled in the form BEFORE submitting it I have a button that the user can click to open up a new page to display a pdf of the data entered. The new pdf file is generated fine but what I need in it is the post data from the form. In the pdf page I can use POST to get the detail. What I need is a method of sending the data from the form to this new page without using the form tag above as it is needed for the processing of the form. What I am looking for is a js method to redirect to a new page with the post data intact Can anybody help please ? , any help is much appreciated ! Mick

• Visual Studio IDE freezing while initializing ToolBox

  I'm working on Visual Studio 2008, Smart Client + infragistics controls are installed and we have more than 50 User Controls. When opening the Visual Studio "Tool Box", Visual Studio is completely freezing. I couldn't work after that. I have to kill the process and open again. At this point CPU usage is around 50, CPU usage is 1 or 2 when i work on code. How to get rid out of this issue. This is really time consuming process.
