  • $Id tag in comment headers

    When I read source from open source projects I often find a comment line with "$Id" at the header of the file, f. ex.: // $Id: addappwindowa.c 30792 2009-03-07 22:40:04Z neil $ Is there an "offical" syntax for this lines? (What does "30792" means? ) Are there editors that auto-generate these "$Id"s? Are there any tools that use this information?

  • How to hide folder in SSRS Report Builder?

    When I click File - Open on Report Builder, I can see a list of folders under Report Server Home root folder. But I don't want end-user to see any of the folders under root unless I grant them access. I tried hiding and removing permission on the folders but they are still visible in the root folder.

  • Disable AND and OR keywords

    In VB.net the ANDALSO and ORELSE keywords should basically always be prefered over the AND and OR keywords. What is the easiest way to disable the AND and OR keywords? I'm thinking FXCop (maybe somebody has already written this rule). Maybe just some setting in VS (we're currently using 2008 and are moving to 2010 end of the summer) I'm open for all suggestions.

  • Getting started with JUCE for Android

    I need to start building an Android app that uses the JUCE libraries. I'm reading the web site and trying to figure stuff out. I tried installing JUCE on an Ubuntu 11.04 system, and when I built the IntroJucer app, the menus don't work right (they flash open when I click with the mouse but then disappear). Can a JUCE app for Android be built on Mac OS X, or even Windows? If you are using JUCE to build Android apps, please give me any advice you can.

  • I can I separate multiple logical pages in a text file I create in Perl?

    So far, I've been successful with generating output to individual files by opening a file for output as part of outer loop and closing it after all output is written. I had used a counting variable ($x) and appended .txt onto it to create a filename, and had written it to the same directory as my perl script. I want to step the code up a bit, prompt for a file name from the user, open that file once and only once, and write my output one "printed letter" per page. Is this possible in plain text? From what I understand, chr(12) is an ascii line feed character and will get me close to what I want, but is there a better way?   • Cycle in Eclipse

    If I open two Java projects in Eclipse which depend on each other, I have to add dependencies between these two projects in the Build Path (Properties - Java build path). This works fine for one way, but why doesn't allow Eclipse to set the dependencies vice versa? The following error message occurs: A cycle was detected in the build path of project 'A' and A cycle was detected in the build path of project 'B' I know what's causing this error but i wonder why exactly this isn't allowed.     I saw that on so many blogs. Lots of the people that were dealing with ASP.NET tend to play with Ruby on Rails after working hours. And It is just a matter of last one or two years. Why is it like that? Is it because when ASP.NET MVC showed up people become more open-minded - having joy with programming again they realize that some other folks had that many years ago, and they do not want to miss what they currently have?
