    In my android app I set this.getWindow().setFlags(WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_FULLSCREEN, WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_FULLSCREEN ); Then my touch screen event doesnt’ work any more. Further Explaining, I have a button and onClick it changes the contentView by setContentView(R.layout.choose_player);. It works fine. But if you take the focus to the button by the trackball(making it yellow) and tap on it, it gives the exception. java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: parameter must be a descendant of this view

  • c++ volatile multithreading variables

    I'm writing a C++ app. I have a class variable that more than one thread is writing to. In C++, anything that can be modified without the compiler "realizing" that it's being changed needs to be marked volatile right? So if my code is multi threaded, and one thread may write to a var while another reads from it, do I need to mark the var volaltile? [I don't have a race condition since I'm relying on writes to ints being atomic] Thanks!

But I have a requirement that my client app can check whether an given WCF endpoint contains a service that matches its generated client code. In other words I need to check for a compatible service. Obviously I could have a method that returns a manually maintained version number, but I would prefer not to have to write my own meta data system if WCF can do something out of the box.

    I am doing an app which has a feature to rotate and re size a view. i have implemented this feature but i do face an issue. My problem The View wil be resized when dragging its four corners, after resizing it i can rotate the view in both directions. Once the rotation is done, if i try again to resize the view by dragging its corner, the view's size gone to unpredictable value and its moving all around the screen. I googled lot finally i got the following solution The frame property is undefined when transform != CGAffineTransformIdentity, as per the docs on UIView I saw one app which has implemented the feature exactly what i wish to implement.   • Drawing performance in Java 6 updates 19,20 versus Java 6 update 3 ?

    I'm getting twice the frame rate with the earlier Java 6 u 3, than with the new ones. Very weird. Can anyone give some explanation? On Core 2 Duo 1.83ghz, integrated video (only one core is used) - 1500 (older java) vs 700 fps On Athlon 64 3500+, discrete video - 120 (older java) vs 55 fps The app is a simple game with a moving rectangle. I'm using Graphics2D to draw from a loop.

    Okay, I want to have an app that takes phone numbers from an online database and displays them in a table view. When the user is not online, I want them to still be able to see the numbers they already got from the database in the table view. If the user manages to go back online, the database updates the view. My question is, is this possible to do and if so, what's the best way to approach it? (bit of a newbie, please help me out)

    I just got a bug report from someone running an app I wrote under Windows XP. He says it won't start up. The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002). Click on OK to terminate the application. It works fine at my end, (under Windows 7,) and I don't have any Win7- or Vista-specific stuff in the program, so it should work on XP too. How do I go about tracking this down and debugging it?

    Is there an elegant way to check which port you deployed a ruby on rails application using mongrel? I could not find a directive (i.e. such as #{RAILS_ROOT} which contains the root directory of the application) that I can use to perform a check. I need this to do a check since I am deploying the same application on different ports and I need the app to do different things according to the port that is being accessed.     Part of the app I'm making requires the user to fill in a multi-page form, the contents of which will be saved locally (perhaps using Core Data). Are there any best practices for this? This form just includes text fields. I guess the options are UITextFields, or perhaps a UIWebView, with the fields as part of an html form? Are there are any best practices, or design patterns, which are good for this kind of thing?
