  I want to download Microsoft Security Essentials on my brand new Windows 7 home PC. The official site presented to me is http://windows.microsoft.com/de-CH/windows/products/security-essentials, as I am located in Switzerland. The link to the actual package then is http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=231276 Obviously, the download is not secured with https. Why? Would this not be the first thing Microsoft should do? They could deliver the certificate already with the OS to make it really secure...

• T60 Screen/LCD gets black after some minutes with a highpitched sound rising and fading

  Just now my T60 screen got "black" (so no display). On my second monitor: no problems so the vga output works. symptom: Screen blanks / no display but works on second monitor steps to reproduce: - boot - wait (it does not matter what you do you do not have to login or anything) - (now the monitor of the laptop slowly begins to make a ssssssssHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHWOEOEssssssss noice of about 10 seconds) - right after the sounds ends the monitor gets black times seem to be the same each time. software: installed no new software before/after, running zone alarm and antivirus. other: it does not feel hot in any place, there dont seem to be running processes with strange behaviour. warranty: out of warranty what was i doing: typing text on a website and doing some php coding in a text editor.   Hi, I'm building a application that supports different domains. A small CMS that supports different domains. But what I can't figure out is how to redirect other domains that's outside google apps. I have a domain at google apps, that work's perfectly. When I create a cname that points at either my appid.appspot.com or www.appsdomain.com it just goes to google.com. I know that I can write daemon using NSDistributedNotificationCenter and com.apple.screenIsLocked and com.apple.screenIsUnlocked, but I hope that there is already solution without creating new daemon. I need this to for example turn on/off speed limit for Transmission (as it is sometimes hard to work when hashing/downloading on full speed).

  I'm currently working on a big web application for a company and we are about 4 months in, but we have a harmless(but annoying) problem that we have just left because we didn't time to change it. The way we setup our MVC is leaving us with the Servlet being stacked one after the other endless amounts of times on the URL so if we had a Servlet named "ControllerServlet" and I did something on the website I would get a result such as this the first time. WebsiteXXXXXXX.com/XXX/ControllerServletXXXX And the next time I were to do something everything will work fine, but the URL will stack the ControllerServlet Path like this.. WebsiteXXXXXXX.com/XXX/ControllerServlet/ControllerServlet/XXXX WebsiteXXXXXXX.com/XXX/ControllerServlet/ControllerServlet/ControllerServlet/XXXX and so on.... Although it is working perfectly fine, something is obviously not right. I imagine this is an easy fix, but could really use somebodies help. Thanks alot

  Recently I have encountered an issue with Scribd where searching via Scribd API (docs.search) for documents by tag is no longer working. This has been working (for over 6 months) to return a number of documents that I have tagged with "fdsafetyandprevention" (accessible here http://www.scribd.com/tag/fdsafetyandprevention). Just recently my search via the API has stopped working. Note that test searches such as @tags "selfhelp" as described in the Scribd documentation DO work. Could my issue be related to caching or the age of my documents and Scribd choosing to not return them in search results? I have been using scribd.php (http://www.scribd.com/developers/libraries) to interface with the API using $scribd-search(@tags "fdsafetyandprevention", 20, 0, "all").   Hello All, I am using IIS 7 on Server 2008. I just tried migrating my app from an older platform - everything works fine, except the email feature. The outbound firewall ruleset allows SMTP traffic. Any idea what I did wrong?

• Apache mod_rewrite and multiple domains

  Hi, I'm trying to use mod_rewrite to map multiple domains to different servlets on one host. Example: www.dom1.com - 192.168.1.n/dom1 www.dom2.com - 192.168.1.n/dom2 ... I'm using the mod_rewrite and mod_proxy and directive but it seems that the reverse mapping via ProxyPassReverse doesn't work as I expected. ProxyPassReverse /subdomain.domain.com http://192.168.1.n/subdomain doesn't work. I've turned rewrite-logging on with RewriteLog /var/log/rewrite.log From the logs I'd say that rewriting works and the problem seems to be with reverse mapping. However I can't see any Reverse mapping entries. It seems that reverse mapping isn't logged or needs a different command to be activated. (Apache and the servlet container are on different machines but this should not matter I'd think ?)

• Drupal base URL and root relative paths.

  I changed my Drupal base url in settings.php to " http://www.example.com/subfolder " but root relative paths are still pointing to " http://www.example.com " and not to the correct "subfolder". Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I flushed cache re-edited a couple links to make sure but they're still pointing to the root domain and not to the correct subfolder.

Any help would be appreciated.

• Weird IIS7 http redirection behavior

  I have a web server running Windows Server 2008 with IIS7. I have a bunch of websites which are all bound to the same IP address, but with different host header values. Most of the host headers are something like www.sitename.com. I also have a corresponding website entry for each which listens for the host "sitename.com" and does a redirect to "www.sitename.com" within IIS7 (to cater for non-www requests). Now this is all pretty straight forward, but I've noticed the when setting up the Http Redirection, some wierd things happen: Firstly, the "redirect" website entries must be pointed at a different physical directory than the site it's trying to redirect to, otherwise the redirection settings get set for both sites at once. Secondly, sometimes whilst setting up Http Redirection on an individual site, Http Redirection gets set at a server level, and all sites start redirecting to that one URL. How does this happen? Under what circumstances could setting Http Redirection on an individual site affect all sites? This is scary!!!

  I have been mucking around for days, trying to find the right combination that lets me debug with breakpoints and variable viewing, in Eclipse, without crashing Apache. PHP 5.3? PHP 5.2? Eclipse Helios? Eclipse Galileo? One or the other with certain versions of xdebug or php? Or do I really need to use NetBeans or something else? Is my 64 bit OS the problem? Do need specific 64bit versions of PHP, Eclipse or Xdebug to work on Windows 7 64? Any special xdebug config options and tricks that I need in php.ini? Like turning off xdebug.profiler_enable or not using quotes around my zend_extension path to the xdebug dll? A Vhosts issue? Scrap the whole thing and go back to Win XP or Ubuntu?
