• jQuery toggling div visibility

    - by Eef
    I have a HTML document with the below setup:

First Div Control

Second Div Control

I also have a CSS class setup called hidden with display setup to none. I have jQuery setup like so: $('.control').click(function(){ var master = $(this).parent().parent(); var first_div = $(master).find(".first-div"); var second_div = $(master).find(".second-div"); $(first_div).toggleClass("hidden") $(second_div).toggleClass("hidden") }); This setup toggles the visibility of the divs, click the control button it hides one div and show the other. However this just hides and shows each div in a flash. I am looking to add some animation to the transitioning of the divs, maybe have one slide up and the other slide down when the 'control' is clicked and vice versa but I am unable to achieve this. Could anyone help out and give some advice on how to do this? Cheer Eef

  • Jquery .Show() .Hide() not working as expected

    - by fizgig07
    I'm trying to use the show and hide to display a different set of select options when a certain report type is selected. I have a couple problems with this: The .show .hide only execute properly if I pass params, slow fast, in the the first result of my conditional statement. If I take out the params or pass params in both results, only one select shows and it never changes.. here's is the code that currently kind of works. if ($('#ReportType').val() == 'PbuseExport') { $('#PbuseServices').show('fast'); $('#ReportServiceDropdown').hide('fast'); } else { $('#PbuseServices').hide(); $('#ReportServiceDropdown').show(); } After i've used this control I am taken to a differnt page. When I use the control again, it reatins the original search values and repopulates the control. Then again I only want to show one select option if a certain report is chosen.. This works correctly if the report type I originally searched on is not the "PbuseExport". If I searched on the report type "PbuseExport", then both selects show on the screen, and only until I change the report type does it show only one select. I know this probably isn't very clear.. Here is the code that handles the change event on the report type drop down. var serviceValue = $("#ReportType").val(); switch (serviceValue) { case 'PbuseExport': $('#PbuseServices').show('fast'); $('#ReportServiceDropdown').hide('fast'); default: $('#PbuseServices').hide(); $('#ReportServiceDropdown').show(); break; }

  • Validation error while putting <h> tag inside tag(document type does not allow element "h2")

    - by makmour
    when using this code:

AAAAA

xxx

xxx2

hxxx3

I get an error while validating saying that I should put
outside of . document type does not allow element
When I do this validation passes without any problems but my styling breaks. Is there a way to keep both validation and styling? This is styling for menu and
.menu li a{ font: 100% Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; display:inline-block; color: #fff; } .menu li a:hover{ color: #014661; background: url('../images/menu1.png') center left no-repeat; } .menu li a h2{ font-size: 92%; padding: 8px 18px; font-weight: bold; text-transform: uppercase; } .menu h3{ font-size: 87%; font-weight: bold; text-transform: uppercase; } .menu li a h2:hover{ background: url('../images/menu2.png') center right no-repeat; }

  • Call ASP.NET 2.0 Server side code from Javascript

    - by Kannabiran
    I'm struggling with this for the past 3 days. I need to call asp.net serverside code from Javascript when the user closes the browser. I'm using the following code to accomplish this. In my asp.net form I have various validation controls. Even if there are some validation errors, When I close the form the server side code works perfectly in my development box(windows 7). But the same code doesnt work in my production environment(windows server). Does it have something to do with the Validation summary or Validation controls. The button control has Causes validation set to false. So even if there is a validation error still my form will post back. Am I correct? I suspect the form is not getting post back to the server when there is a validation error. But i'm disabling all the validation controls in the javascript before calling the button click event. Can someone throw some light on this issue. There are few blogs which suggests to use JQUERY, AJAX (Pagemethods and script manager). function ConfirmClose(e) { var evtobj = window.event ? event : e; if (evtobj == e) { //firefox if (!evtobj.clientY) { evtobj.returnValue = message; } } else { //IE if (evtobj.clientY < 0) { DisablePageValidators(); document.getElementById('<%# buttonBrowserCloseClick.ClientID %>').click(); } } } function DisablePageValidators() { if ((typeof (Page_Validators) != "undefined") && (Page_Validators != null)) { var i; for (i = 0; i < Page_Validators.length; i++) { ValidatorEnable(Page_Validators[i], false); } } } //HTML
<asp:Button ID="buttonBrowserCloseClick" runat="server" onclick="buttonBrowserCloseClick_Click" Text="Button" Width="141px" CausesValidation="False" /> //Server Code protected void buttonBrowserCloseClick_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { //Some C# code goes here }

  • jQuery UI sortable - sorting images

    - by GSTAR
    I've just implemented the jQuery UI sortable plugin for a set of images. The markup I have is as follows:

  The LI id is the 'name' column in the DB table - I prefer not to display the ID column. Now my question is how do I capture the sorting? I understand this would be an AJAX request but I have no idea how to do it. I have set up a sort_order column in my DB table and I am using PHP as my scripting language. I could do with a code example. EDIT: Ideally I prefer if the sort order is applied upon moving an item, i.e. I do not want to enclose it all in a form.

  • radio input replacement using jquery

    - by altvali
    It may seem a bit odd to ask this since there are several solutions out there but the fact is that all of them look pretty and none of what i've seem save the input value for form submission the right way. I'm looking for something that will replace all radio inputs with divs that get special classes when they are hovered or clicked, and an input type hidden for every group of radio inputs with the same name, hidden input that will be updated with the value corresponding to the div the user clicks on. Long sentence, i know. Here's what i've come up with: $('input:radio').each(function(){ if (this.style.display!='none') { var inputName = $(this).attr('name'); var inputValue = $(this).attr('value'); var isChecked = $(this).attr('checked'); if (!$('input:hidden[name='+inputName+']').length) // if the hidden input wasn't already created $(this).replaceWith('

'); else{ $(this).replaceWith('

'); if (isChecked) $('input:hidden[name='+inputName+']').attr({'value':inputValue}); } //this bind doesn't work $("#"+inputName+"X"+inputValue).click(function(){ if($('input:hidden[name='+inputName+']').val()!=inputValue){ $('input:hidden[name='+inputName+']').attr({'value':inputValue}); $('div[id*='+inputName+'].inputRadioButton').removeClass('inputRadioButtonSelected'); } if (!$("#"+inputName+"X"+inputValue).hasClass('inputRadioButtonSelected')) $("#"+inputName+"X"+inputValue).addClass('inputRadioButtonSelected'); }); } }); Please tell me how to fix it. Thank you. Edit I've found the reason. It should normally work but some of my radio inputs generated by an e-commerce software had brackets in them (e.g. id[12] ) and jQuery was parsing that. The fix is adding var inputButton = document.getElementById(inputName+"X"+inputValue); before the bind and replacing $("#"+inputName+"X"+inputValue) with $(inputButton).

  • sql query --need some suggestions

    - by benjamin button
    I have a table with list of cycle codes.CYCLE_DEFINITION. each and every cycle_code has 12 months entries in another table(PM1_CYCLE_STATE). Each and every month has a cycle_start_date and a cycle_close_date. i will check with a particular date(lets say sysdate) and check what is the current month of every cycle.additionally i will also get the list of future 3 more months of that particular cycle. the query i have written is as below: SELECT cycd,cm,sd,ed,ld FROM (SELECT pcs.cycle_code CYCD,LTRIM(pcs.cycle_month,'0')+0 CM, pcs.cycle_start_date SD,pcs.cycle_close_date ED,ld.logical_date LD FROM pm1_cycle_state pcs,logical_date ld WHERE ld.logical_date BETWEEN pcs.cycle_start_date AND pcs.cycle_close_date and ld.logical_date_type='B') UNION SELECT cycd,cm,sd,ed,ld FROM (SELECT pcs.cycle_code CYCD,DECODE(LTRIM(pcs.cycle_month,'0')+1,13,1,14,2,15,3,LTRIM(pcs.cycle_month,'0')+1) CM ,pcs.cycle_start_date SD,pcs.cycle_close_date ED,ld.logical_date LD FROM pm1_cycle_state pcs,logical_date ld WHERE ld.logical_date BETWEEN pcs.cycle_start_date AND pcs.cycle_close_date and ld.logical_date_type='B') UNION SELECT cycd,cm,sd,ed,ld FROM (SELECT pcs.cycle_code CYCD,DECODE(LTRIM(pcs.cycle_month,'0')+2,13,1,14,2,15,3,LTRIM(pcs.cycle_month,'0')+2) CM ,pcs.cycle_start_date SD,pcs.cycle_close_date ED,ld.logical_date LD FROM pm1_cycle_state pcs,logical_date ld WHERE ld.logical_date BETWEEN pcs.cycle_start_date AND pcs.cycle_close_date and ld.logical_date_type='B') UNION SELECT cycd,cm,sd,ed,ld FROM (SELECT pcs.cycle_code CYCD,DECODE(LTRIM(pcs.cycle_month,'0')+3,13,1,14,2,15,3,LTRIM(pcs.cycle_month,'0')+3) CM ,pcs.cycle_start_date SD,pcs.cycle_close_date ED,ld.logical_date LD FROM pm1_cycle_state pcs,logical_date ld WHERE ld.logical_date BETWEEN pcs.cycle_start_date AND pcs.cycle_close_date and ld.logical_date_type='B') This query is running perfectly fine. This will result in all the cycle_codes with exactly 4 rows for current month and future 3 months. Now the requirement is if any of the month is missing.how could i show it? for eg: the output of the above query is cycd cm 102 1 102 10 102 11 102 12 103 1 103 10 103 11 103 12 104 1 104 10 104 11 104 12 Now lets say the row with cycd=104 and cm=11 is not present in the table,then the above query will not get the row 104 11. I want to display only those rows. how could i do it?

  • handle large Parcelable ArrayList in Android

    - by Gal Ben-Haim
    I'm developing an Android app that is a client to a JSON webservice API. I have classes of resource objects (some are nested) and I pass results from an IntentService that access the webserive using the Parcelable interface for all the resource classes. the webservice returns arrays or results that can be potentially large (because of the nesting, for example, a post object also contains comments array, each comment also contains a user object). currently I'm either inserting the results into a SQlite database or displaying them in a ListView. (my relevant methods are accepting ArrayList<resourceClass> as arguments). (some data need to be persistent stored and some should not). since I don't know what size of lists I can handle this way without reaching the memory limits, is this a good practice ? is it a better idea to save the parsed JSON to a local file immediately and pass the file path to the ResultReceiver, then either insert to database from that file or display the data ? is there a better way to handle this ? btw - I'm parsing the JSON as a stream with Gson's Reader so there shouldn't be memory issues at that stage.

  • WordPress Get 1 attachment per post from X category outside the loop

    - by davebowker
    Hey, Hope someone can help with this. What I want is to display 5 attachments but only 1 attachment from each post from a specific category in the sidebar, which links to the posts permalink. I'm using the following code so far which gets all attachments from all posts, but some posts have more than 1 attachment and I just want to show the first one, and link it to the permalink of the post. So although the limit is 5 posts, if one post has 4 attachments then currently it will show 4 from one, and 1 from the other totalling 5, when what I want it to do is just show 1 from each of 5 different posts. <?php $args = array( 'post_type' => 'attachment', 'numberposts' => 5, 'post_status' => null, 'post_parent' => null, // any parent 'category_name' => 'work', ); $attachments = get_posts($args); if ($attachments) { foreach ($attachments as $post) { setup_postdata($post); the_title(); the_permalink(); the_attachment_link($post->ID, false); the_excerpt(); } } ?> Cheers. • cancelPreviousPerformRequestWithTarget is not canceling my previously delayed thread started with pe

    - by jmurphy
    Hello, I've launched a delayed thread using performSelector but the user still has the ability to hit the back button on the current view causing dealloc to be called. When this happens my thread still seems to be called which causes my app to crash because the properties that thread is trying to write to have been released. To solve this I am trying to call cancelPreviousPerformRequestsWithTarget to cancel the previous request but it doesn't seem to be working. Below are some code snippets. - (void) viewDidLoad { [self performSelector:@selector(myStopUpdatingLocation) withObject:nil afterDelay:6]; } (void)viewWillDisappear:(BOOL)animated { [NSObject cancelPreviousPerformRequestsWithTarget:self selector:@selector(myStopUpdatingLocation) object:nil]; } Am I doing something incorrect here? The method myStopUpdatingLocation is defined in the same class that I'm calling the perform requests. A little more background. The function that I'm trying to implement is to find a users location, search google for some locations around that location and display several annotations on the map. On viewDidLoad I start updating the location with CLLocationManager. I've build in a timeout after 6 seconds if I don't get my desired accuracy within the timeout and I'm using a performSelector to do this. What can happen is the user clicks the back button in the view and this thread will still execute even though all my properties have been released causing a crash. Thanks in advance! James

  • How to Store and Retrieve Images Using MsSQL (Server Management Studio)

    - by Joe Majewski
    I am having difficulties when trying to insert files into an MsSQL database. I'll try to break this down as best as I can: What data type should I be using to store image files (jpeg/png/gif/etc)? Right now my table is using the image data type, but I am curious if varbinary would be a better option. How would I go about inserting the image into the database? Does Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio have any built in functions that allow insertions of files into tables? If so, how is that done? Also, how could this be done through the use of an HTML form with PHP handling the input data and placing it into the table? How would I fetch the image from the table and display it on the page? I understand how to SELECT the cell's contents, but how would I go about translating that into a picture. Would I have to have a header(Content type: image/jpeg)? I have no problem doing any of these things with MySQL, but the MsSQL environment is still new to me, and I am working on a project for my job that requires the use of stored procedures to grab various data. Any and all help is appreciated. Thank you very much for your responses!

  • Core Data confusion: fetch without tableview.

    - by Mr. McPepperNuts
    I have completed and reproduced Core Data tutorials using a tableview to display contents. However, I want to access an Entity through a fetch on a view without a tableview. I used the following fetch code, but the count returned is always 0. The data exists when the database is opened using SQLite tools. NSManagedObject *entryObj; XYZDelegate *appDelegate = [[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; NSManagedObjectContext *managedObjectContext = appDelegate.managedObjectContext; NSFetchRequest *request = [[NSFetchRequest alloc] init]; NSEntityDescription *entity = [NSEntityDescription entityForName:@"Quote" inManagedObjectContext:managedObjectContext]; NSSortDescriptor *sortDescriptor = [[NSSortDescriptor alloc] initWithKey:@"id" ascending:YES]; NSArray *sortDescriptors = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:sortDescriptor, nil]; [request setSortDescriptors:sortDescriptors]; [request setEntity: entity]; NSArray *results = [managedObjectContext executeFetchRequest:request error:nil]; if (results == nil) { NSLog(@"No results found"); entryObj = nil; }else { NSLog(@"results %d", [results count]); } [request release]; [sortDescriptors release]; count returned is always 0; it should be 5. Can anyone point me to a reference or tutorial regarding creating a controller not to be used with a tableview.

  • Inconsistent table width when hideing/showing a set of columns

    - by Salman A. Kagzi
    I have got a an HTML table of around 40+ columns. To make this table fit in the screen and have the data in a re presentable format we have section in this table. i.e. there are some column that are always visible and the remainder a made visible when s specific radio button (describing a section) is selected. Each radio button is associated to different number of columns. We show/hide a column by setting/removing "display:none" style in all the cell under that column. This all works Just fine. Now the real problem is with the width of the columns in this table. I cant use fixed with with pixel settings. I have tried using the percentage setting by giving 50% to the always visible part and rest 50% is divided between the column in a section. But I am unable to get a fixed behavior i.e. the size of the table columns across IE & FF. Some columns are just right while some are really huge. How can I get the table to give consistent column width across browsers?

  • hiding buttons in master page

    - by pankaj
    Hi, I am working on an app where i am having some linkbuttons in master page. I want to display them depending upon the authorization given to them once they logs in. I have initially made all of them visible false and then i am checking the authorisation in the aspx.cs class of master page. I make the link button visible depending upon the right granted to the user. But it is making all the link buttons visible. Instead it should only make two of them visible and rest should be hidden. Following is my code from MasterPage.aspx.cs: ArrayList arrlstUserRoles = new ArrayList(); arrlstUserRoles = (ArrayList)Session["Roles"]; for (int j = 0; j < arrlstUserRoles.Count; j++) { if (int.Parse(arrlstUserRoles[j].ToString()) == 1) { lbtnRetailer.Visible = true; } else if (int.Parse(arrlstUserRoles[j].ToString()) == 2) { lbtnCategory.Visible = true; } else if (int.Parse(arrlstUserRoles[j].ToString()) == 3) { lbtnCouponTemplate.Visible = true; } else if (int.Parse(arrlstUserRoles[j].ToString()) == 4) { //lbtnStoreManagement.Visible = true; } else if (int.Parse(arrlstUserRoles[j].ToString()) == 5) { lbtnStoreManagement.Visible = true; } else if (int.Parse(arrlstUserRoles[j].ToString()) == 6) { lbtnContentManagement.Visible = true; } else if (int.Parse(arrlstUserRoles[j].ToString()) == 7) { //lbtnStoreManagement.Visible = true; } }

  • CSS overflow detection in JavaScript

    - by ring0
    In order to display a line of text (like in a forum), and end that line with "..." if the text would overflow the line (not truncating using the CSS overflow property), there are a number of ways. I'm still seeking the best solution. For instance, Adding in CSS a "..." as a background-image is a possibility, but it would appear all the time, and this is not a good solution. Some sites just count the characters and if over - say - 100, truncates the string to keep only 100 (or 97) chars and add a "..." at the end. But fonts are usually not proportional, so the result is not pretty. For instance the space - in pixels - taken by "AAA" and "iii" is clearly different "AAA" and "iii" via a proportional font have the same width There is another idea to get the exact size in pixels of the string: create in Javascript a DIV insert the text in it (via innerHTML for instance) measure the width (via .offsetWidth) which is not implemented yet. However, I wonder if there could be any browser compatibility problem? Did any one tried this solution? Other recommendations would be welcome.

  • Dynamically compose ASP MVC view based on context

    - by robertFall
    I have several views that are composed of several partial views based on context. For example, we have a Project view that shows all the details of a project, which includes the scalar values, name etc, and also all the assigned employees, tasks and/or clients. The problem I have is that certain types of project have all of the above sections while others have only two or even on section, ie. details only. What is the best way to compose the Projects master view? I don't want to have logic to check the project in the view. Is there a way to compose a view in code by programatically rendering the relevant partials and ignoring the rest? Otherwise are there any other ideas how to do this in a maintainable way? I could of course just render the partials using if statements to check if they apply, but that way the view contains VERY important logic. In another situation we want to use this method to display content based on the type of subscription a user has. Thanks!

  • How do I relate two models/tables in Django based on non primary non unique keys?

    - by wizard
    I've got two tables that I need to relate on a single field po_num. The data is imported from another source so while I have a little bit of control over what the tables look like but I can't change them too much. What I want to do is relate these two models so I can look up one from the other based on the po_num fields. What I really need to do is join the two tables so I can do a where on a count of the related table. I would like to do filter for all Order objects that have 0 related EDI856 objects. I tried adding a foreign key to the Order model and specified the db_column and to_fields as po_num but django didn't like that the fact that Edi856.po_num wasn't unique. Here are the important fields of my current models that let me display but not filter for the data that I want. class Edi856(models.Model): po_num = models.CharField(max_length=90, db_index=True ) class Order(models.Model): po_num = models.CharField(max_length=90, db_index=True) def in_edi(self): '''Has the edi been processed?''' return Edi856.objects.filter(po_num = self.po_num).count() Thanks for taking the time to read about my problem. I'm not sure what to do from here.

  • Preserving order when copying elements using Deliverance / XPath

    - by Jon Hadley
    How would I, using Deliverance & XPath (or CSS) selectors, select and copy list items .one and .three from each list below, but display them in the order of their parent list?

c,d,e,f,g etc.... The catch is it needs to use a href rule, eg: <prepend href="/blah/deblah" content="#x" theme="#y" /> Using the following just lists all the .one elements, then all the .three elements. <prepend href="/blah/deblah" content=".one" theme="#y" /> <prepend href="/blah/deblah" content=".three" theme="#y" />

  • Problems sorting by date

    I'm attempting to only display data added to my database 24 hours ago or less. However, for some reason, the code I've written isn't working, and both entries in my database, one from 1 hour ago, one from 2 days ago, show up. Is there something wrong with my equation? Thanks! public void UpdateValues() { double TotalCost = 0; double TotalEarned = 0; double TotalProfit = 0; double TotalHST = 0; for (int i = 0; i <= Program.TransactionList.Count - 1; i++) { DateTime Today = DateTime.Now; DateTime Jan2013 = DateTime.Parse("01-01-2013"); //Hours since Jan12013 int TodayHoursSince2013 = Convert.ToInt32(Math.Round(Today.Subtract(Jan2013).TotalHours)); //7 int ItemHoursSince2013 = Program.TransactionList[i].HoursSince2013; //Equals 7176, and 7130 if (ItemHoursSince2013 - TodayHoursSince2013 <= 24) { TotalCost += Program.TransactionList[i].TotalCost; TotalEarned += Program.TransactionList[i].TotalEarned; TotalProfit += Program.TransactionList[i].TotalEarned - Program.TransactionList[i].TotalCost; TotalHST += Program.TransactionList[i].TotalHST; } } label6.Text = "$" + String.Format("{0:0.00}", TotalCost); label7.Text = "$" + String.Format("{0:0.00}", TotalEarned); label8.Text = "$" + String.Format("{0:0.00}", TotalProfit); label10.Text = "$" + String.Format("{0:0.00}", TotalHST); }

  • Do you know a date picker to quickly pick one day of the current week?

    - by Murmelschlurmel
    Most date pickers allow you to pick the date from a tine calendar or enter the date by hand. For example http://jqueryui.com/demos/datepicker/ This requires - two clicks (one to display the calendar and one to select the correct date) - good eyesight (usually the pop-up calendar is very small) - and good hand-eye coordination to pick the correct date in the tiny calendar with your mouse. That's no problem for power users, but a hassle for older people and computer beginners. I found a website with a different approach. It seems like their users mostly select dates of the current week. So they listed all the days of the week in a bar together with the weekday. The current day is marked in another color. There is a tiny calender icon on the right hand that opens up a regular date picker. That gives you access to all regular date picker functionality. Here is a screenshot: http://mite.yo.lk/assets/img/tour/de/zeiten-erfassen.png Do you know of any jquery plugin which has a similar feature? If not, do you any other plugin or widget which would help me speed up development ? Thank you!

  • Same font, character spacing and line-height but different results

    - by Ben Huh
    The introduction of @font-face in CSS3 allows web designers to use fonts that look the same across all browsers. That is what I thought until trying it out with the following code in jsFiddle: HTML:
The_Quick_Brown
Fox_Jumps_Over
The_Lazy_Dog
CSS: @font-face { font-family: 'Open Sans'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; src: url('http://themes.googleusercontent.com/static/fonts/opensans/v6/cJZKeOuBrn4kERxqtaUH3T8E0i7KZn-EPnyo3HZu7kw.woff') format('woff'); } div { display: block; width: 496px; height: 86px; font-size: 1.3em; font-family: 'Open Sans'; font-style: normal; margin: 0; border: 0; padding: 0; background: cyan; letter-spacing: 1.44em; line-height: 1.44; overflow: hidden; } This is the view from Firefox 12.0. Take note of the partially obscured 'o' in 'brown', the position of 'g' in 'dog' and the underscore '_' at the bottom edge. This is the view from Google Chrome 19.0. Despite explicitly setting letter-spacing and line-height for the same font, why are the results still different?

  • Graphical glitches when adding cells and scrolling with UITableView

    - by Daniel I-S
    I am using a UITableView to display the results of a series of calculations. When the user hits 'calculate', I wish to add the latest result to the screen. This is done by adding a new cell to a 'results' section. The UITableViewCell object is added to an array, and then I use the following code to add this new row to what is displayed on the screen: [thisView beginUpdates]; [thisView insertRowsAtIndexPaths:[NSArray arrayWithObject:newIndexPath] withRowAnimation: UITableViewRowAnimationFade]; [thisView endUpdates]; This results in the new cell being displayed. However, I then want to immediately scroll the screen down so that the new cell is the lowermost cell on-screen. I use the following code: [thisView scrollToRowAtIndexPath:newIndexPath atScrollPosition:UITableViewScrollPositionBottom animated:YES]; This almost works great. However, the first time a cell is added and scrolled to, it appears onscreen only briefly before vanishing. The view scrolls down to the correct place, but the cell is not there. Scrolling the view by hand until this invisible new cell's position is offscreen, then back again, causes the cell to appear - after which it behaves normally. This only happens the first time a cell is added; subsequent cells don't have this problem. It also happens regardless of the combination of scrollToRowAtIndexPath and insertRowsAtIndexPath animation settings. There is also a problem where, if new cells are added repeatedly and quickly, the new cells stop 'connecting up'. The lowermost cell in a group is supposed to have rounded corners, and when a new cell is added these turn into square corners so that there is a clean join with the next cell in the group. In this case, however, a cell often does not lose its rounded edges despite not being the last cell anymore. This also gets corrected once the affected area moves offscreen and back. This method of adding and scrolling would be perfect for my application if it weren't for these weird glitches. Any ideas as to what I may be doing wrong?

  • How to keep track of objects for garbage collection

    - by Yman
    May I know what is the proper way to keep track of display objects created and hence allow me to remove it efficiently later, for garbage collection. For example: for(i=0; i<100; i++){ var dobj = new myClass(); //a sprite addChild(dobj); } From what i know, flash's garbage collection will only collect the objects without strong references and event listeners attached to it. Since the var dobj is strongly referenced to the new object created, I will have to "nullify" it too, am I correct? Should I create an array to keep track of all the objects created in the loop such as: var objectList:Array = new Array(); for(i=0; i<100; i++) { var dobj = new myClass(); //a sprite addChild(dobj); objectList.push(dobj); } //remove all children for each (var key in objectList) { removeChild(key as myClass); } Does this allow GC to collect it on sweep?

  • Populate asp.net MVC Index page with data from the database

    - by Sunil Ramu
    I have a web application in which I need to fetch data from the database and display in the index page. As you know, asp.net mvc has given options to edit delete etc... I need to populate the page using the conventional DB way and it uses a stored procedure to retrieve results. I dont want to use LINQ. This is my model entity class using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Web; namespace LogMVCApp.Models { public class Property { public int Id { get; set; } public string LogInId { get; set; } public string Username { get; set; } public string Action { get; set; } public string Information { get; set; } public bool Passed{get; set; } public string LogType { get; set; } } } and I need to retrieve data using something like this... var conString = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["connection"].ToString(); var conn = new SqlConnection(conString); var command = new SqlCommand("LogInsert", conn){CommandType=CommandType.StoredProcedure};

  • Does the "Supporting Multiple Screens" document contradict itself?

    - by Neil Traft
    In the Supporting Multiple Screens document in the Android Dev Guide, some example screen configurations are given. One of them states that the small-ldpi designation is given to QVGA (240x320) screens with a physical size of 2.6"-3.0". According to this DPI calculator, a 2.8" QVGA display equates to 143 dpi. However, further down the page the document explicitly states that all screens over 140 dpi are considered "medium" density. So which is it, ldpi or mdpi? Is this a mistake? Does anyone know what the HTC Tattoo or similar device actually reports? I don't have access to any devices like this. Also, with the recent publishing of this document, I'm glad to see we finally have an explicit statement of the exact DPI ranges of the three density categories. But why haven't we been given the same for the small, medium, and large screen size categories? I'd like to know the exact ranges for all these. Thanks in advance for your help!
