  • Is it possible to overwrite a static method in parent class?

    - by MartinDenny2069
    I have a static method defined in a base class, I want to overwrite this method in its child class, is it possible? I tried this but it did not work as I expected. When I created an instance of class B and invoke its callMe() method, the static foo() method in class A is invoked. public abstract class A { public static void foo() { System.out.println("I am base class"); } public void callMe() { foo(); } } Public class B { public static void foo() { System.out.println("I am child class"); } }

  • eclipse add unimplemented methods including javadoc

    - by dcp
When implementing an interface in eclipse, it has a really nice feature that lets you "add unimplemented methods", and it will generate the method stubs for the interface methods. However, it does not bring along the method documentation from the interface methods, and I was wondering if there was a way to get eclipse to do that.

  • Hibernate -using Table per subclass - how to link an existing superclass object to a sibclass object

    - by Chandni
Hi, I have a User hibernate class, Clerk class and Consumer class. All these maps to their own tables in database. The User PK also acts as Clerk's and Consumer's PK. So now my problem is that if a user is initially a Clerk, he has a record in Users table and Clerks table. If that user wants to become a consumer, I want to link that User's record to the new Consumer's record. So even if I pass the userId to the consumer's record, it treats it as a new User to be persisted and gives a duplicate_key exception. How do I tell Hiernate to link the same user object with this new Consumer object. Thanks in advance, -Chandni

  • how to detect an IMAPMessage is not an email but a Task or Calendar item

    - by raticulin
I am accessing Lotus and Groupwise using javamail via IMAP, recursively accessing all folders and processing email I find. But in folders like Tasklist and Calendar (those are from Groupwise but I think I remember Lotus had similar things), I get the items in there as instances of IMAPMessage, and so they are processed as if they were mail. I understand those items get exposed as mail through the IMAP protocol (either by design or by mistake), but I only want to process proper mail. Is there a way to do this? I have dismissed following approaches so far: Make sure the message has a message-id, at least in Groupwise Calendar items have it. Ignore folders by name (such as Calendar and Tasklist): is not totally correct as a user can move mail inside those folders. What I am looking is some IMAP api call I have missed so far or something in those lines...

  • onchange force page submit

    - by cometta
<form jwcid="@Form" listener="listener:updateStaff"> <select jwcid="staffselect@Select" multiple="ognl:false" validators="validators:required" onchange="this.form.submit()" listener="listener:updateStaff"> <span jwcid="@For" source="ognl:hrStaff" value="ognl:currentHrStaff" index="ognl:currentHrStaffIndex"> <option class="text11" jwcid="@Option" selected="ognl:hrStaffSelection[currentHrStaffIndex]" label="ognl:currentHrStaff"/> </span> </select> </form> when onchange on selectbox, this form will be submitted and my pageValidate() will be called follow by upadteStaff() listener method. I wonder, when such submission is fired, can onchange='' pass a flag ('selectboxisfired' string) that i able to capture inside pagevalidate() 'selectboxisfired'? this will allow my logic inside pagevalidate to indicate is triggered by selectbox.

  • Accessing property file through batch script

    - by Farid
Hi everyone, I'm trying to write a batch script, this script is responsible to launch a jar with one parameters. This parameter indicate to my jar wich property file to use in order to setup some configuration. Then the script will zip the results produced by the jar and send them to a location. But in order to set the name of the zip file I would need to be able to read the property file directly from the batch, is there a way to do so ? Thanks and regards, F

  • How do I get spring-ws + tomcat to log errors

    - by Dave
I'm creating a Spring-WS based webservice and running it in tomcat. I made some change and now get a fault with OperationUnsupportedException. I'd like to see the entire stack trace that Spring-WS is getting, but cannot figure out how to have it logged. Does anybody know how to have this stack trace logged somewhere?

  • Creating a Cerificate for Bouncy Castle Encryption

    - by Gordon
    I am trying to create a self-signed certificate to use for encrypting an email using bouncycaste. What would be the best way to generate a certificate? I have tried using openssl but I have had problems with certificate. Here is the code I am using to encrypt, I am using 3des. SMIMEEnvelopedGenerator gen = new SMIMEEnvelopedGenerator(); gen.addKeyTransRecipient(x509Cert); // adds an X509Certificate MimeBodyPart encData = gen.generate(mimeBodyPart, SMIMEEnvelopedGenerator.DES_EDE3_CBC, "BC");

  • Relative paths in spring classpath resource

    - by Mike Q
Hi all, I have a bunch of spring config files, all of which live under the META-INF directory in various subpackages. I have been using import like the following... <import resource="../database/schema.xml"/> So a relative path from the source file. This works fine when I am working with a local build outside of a jar file. But when I package everything up in a jar then I get an error that it cannot resolve the URL resource. If I change the above to an absolute path (with classpath:) then it works fine. Is there any way to use relative paths with ".." in when the configs are packaged in a jar or am I restricted to descending relative paths and absolute paths only? Thanks.

  • HttpClient multithread performance

    - by pepper
I have an application which downloads more than 4500 html pages from 62 target hosts using HttpClient (4.1.3 or 4.2-beta). It runs on Windows 7 64-bit. Processor - Core i7 2600K. Network bandwidth - 54 Mb/s. At this moment it uses such parameters: DefaultHttpClient and PoolingClientConnectionManager; Also it hasIdleConnectionMonitorThread from http://hc.apache.org/httpcomponents-client-ga/tutorial/html/connmgmt.html; Maximum total connections = 80; Default maximum connections per route = 5; For thread management it uses ForkJoinPool with the parallelism level = 5 (Do I understand correctly that it is a number of working threads?) In this case my network usage (in Windows task manager) does not rise above 2.5%. To download 4500 pages it takes 70 minutes. And in HttpClient logs I have such things: DEBUG ForkJoinPool-2-worker-1 [org.apache.http.impl.conn.PoolingClientConnectionManager]: Connection released: [id: 209][route: {}-http://stackoverflow.com][total kept alive: 6; route allocated: 1 of 5; total allocated: 10 of 80] Total allocated connections do not raise above 10-12, in spite of that I've set it up to 80 connections. If I'll try to rise parallelism level to 20 or 80, network usage remains the same but a lot connection time-outs will be generated. I've read tutorials on hc.apache.org (HttpClient Performance Optimization Guide and HttpClient Threading Guide) but they does not help. Task's code looks like this: public class ContentDownloader extends RecursiveAction { private final HttpClient httpClient; private final HttpContext context; private List<Entry> entries; public ContentDownloader(HttpClient httpClient, List<Entry> entries){ this.httpClient = httpClient; context = new BasicHttpContext(); this.entries = entries; } private void computeDirectly(Entry entry){ final HttpGet get = new HttpGet(entry.getLink()); try { HttpResponse response = httpClient.execute(get, context); int statusCode = response.getStatusLine().getStatusCode(); if ( (statusCode >= 400) && (statusCode <= 600) ) { logger.error("Couldn't get content from " + get.getURI().toString() + "\n" + response.toString()); } else { HttpEntity entity = response.getEntity(); if (entity != null) { String htmlContent = EntityUtils.toString(entity).trim(); entry.setHtml(htmlContent); EntityUtils.consumeQuietly(entity); } } } catch (Exception e) { } finally { get.releaseConnection(); } } @Override protected void compute() { if (entries.size() <= 1){ computeDirectly(entries.get(0)); return; } int split = entries.size() / 2; invokeAll(new ContentDownloader(httpClient, entries.subList(0, split)), new ContentDownloader(httpClient, entries.subList(split, entries.size()))); } } And the question is - what is the best practice to use multi threaded HttpClient, may be there is a some rules for setting up ConnectionManager and HttpClient? How can I use all of 80 connections and raise network usage? If necessary, I will provide more code.

  • JSP request parameter is returning null on a jsp include with Weblogic.

    - by doug
Hello, I am having trouble with the jsp:include tag. I have code like the following: <jsp:include page="./Address.jsp"> <jsp:param value="30" name="tabIndex"/> <jsp:param value="true" name="showBox"/> <jsp:param value="none" name="display"/> </jsp:include> The page is included fine, but when I try to access the parameters on the Address.jsp page, they are null. I have tried accessing them the following ways (with jstl): <c:out value="${param.tabIndex}" /> <c:out value="${param['tabIndex']} /> <%= request.getParameter("tabIndex") %> <c:out value="${pageScope.param.tabIndex} /> ${param.tabIndex} etc... Here is the kicker, The above works fine in tomcat 5.5. However, when I deploy the application in Weblogic 10, it does not. Also, the code works fine in other areas of my application (on weblogic) just not a particular page. Any Ideas? Thanks!

  • XSL-stylesheet URI using JAX-WS and Glassfish v3.

    - by Tony
Hi there. I'm trying to use XSL-stylesheets in order to transform some generated XML-data to HTML-output. The architecture that I'm using is as follows: [Client Side] Web-Browser = [Server Side: Glassfish v3] JSP-pages - Web-Services. My web service generates some XML-data, then I want to format it with XSL-stylesheet, pass the result to JSP-page and show to user. I'm using JAXP for XSL-transformations and I want to create a javax.xml.transform.stream.StreamSource object with XSL-file stream for the javax.xml.transform.Transformer object, but I'm having a difficulty with specifying the path/URL for the XSL-file. So the question is: where should I put my XSL-stylesheets in a project and how should I access them from code? I'm using Glassfish v3 and NetBeans 6.8. Thanks.

  • How do I lock the layout of my android program to one orientation

    - by Mike V
I'm trying to write a program that needs smooth orientation sensor samples as the phone is rotated all around. Every time the orientation of the phone is changed, it interrupts the data and freezes the program while the layout changes. How can I lock it in one orientation (landscape or portrait, it doesn't matter)? I assume it has something to do with android:layout in the xml file, but I can't find anything online.

  • Creating circular generic references

    - by M. Jessup
I am writing an application to do some distributed calculations in a peer to peer network. In defining the network I have two class the P2PNetwork and P2PClient. I want these to be generic and so have the definitions of: P2PNetwork<T extends P2PClient<? extends P2PNetwork<T>>> P2PClient<T extends P2PNetwork<? extends T>> with P2PClient defining a method of setNetwork(T network). What I am hoping to describe with this code is: A P2PNetwork is constituted of clients of a certain type A P2PClient may only belong to a network whose clients consist of the same type as this client (the circular-reference) This seems correct to me but if I try to create a non-generic version such as MyP2PClient<MyP2PNetwork<? extends MyP2PClient>> myClient; and other variants I receive numerous errors from the compiler. So my questions are as follows: Is a generic circular reference even possible (I have never seen anything explicitly forbidding it)? Is the above generic definition a correct definition of such a circular relationship? If it is valid, is it the "correct" way to describe such a relationship (i.e. is there another valid definition, which is stylistically preferred)? How would I properly define a non-generic instance of a Client and Server given the proper generic definition?

  • Android Broadcast Address

    - by Eef
Hey, I am making a Client Server application for my Android phone. I have created a UDP Server in Python which sits and listens for connections. I can put either the server IP address in directly like 192.169.0.100 and it sends data fine. I can also put in 192.168.0.255 and it find the server on 192.169.0.100. Is it possible to get the broadcast address of the network my Android phone is connected to? I am only ever going to use this application on my Wifi network or other Wifi networks. Cheers

  • Google Collections sources don't compile

    - by Carl Rosenberger
I just downloaded the Google Collections sources and imported them into a new Eclipse project with JDK 1.6. They don't compile for a couple of reasons: javax.annotation.Nullable can not be found javax.annotation.ParametersAreNonnullByDefault can not be found Cannot reduce the visibility of the inherited method #createCollection() from AbstractMultimap + 11 similar ones Name clash: The method forcePut(K, V) of type AbstractBiMap has the same erasure as forcePut(Object, Object) of type BiMap but does not override it + 2 similar ones What am I missing? I also wonder if unit tests for these collections are available to the public.

  • Get Cell RSSI(Network Signal Strength) on Android 1.5

    - by Brandon
Is there any way to retrieve the current cellular Signal Strength (RSSI) on Android 1.5? I know there's a way to listen for signal strength updates through the TelephonyManager, but this seems to only give a "state," not a numeric value. Is using the RSSI field on a neighboring cell fairly accurate? I'm guessing not, but I'm running out of ideas.

  • IDE support for Spring framework; Are they worth using?

    - by Zwei Steinen
I'm using Intellij IDEA for IDE, and I like it a lot. However, it does not have any special "Spring support" (plug-ins/tools). My next project uses Spring (which I'm not very familiar with), and I'm wondering whether I should consider changing my IDE from early on; e.g. to SpringSource eclipse/Intellij IDEA Professional. Do you guys have any experience with these IDE-built-in Spring support? Is it worth using?

  • Printing is not working in tomcat, when i start server with services.msc(From client side we could not print )

    - by maya
I am using JasperReports 1.3.1 to print the report. I am sing eclipse and tomcat for development purpose. In eclipse, when i run the application, the below code will show the listed printer devices and print button. If i click the print button, the report is printing by selected device. PrintRequestAttributeSet printRequestAttributeSet = new HashPrintRequestAttributeSet(); printRequestAttributeSet.add(MediaSizeName.ISO_A5); PrintServiceAttributeSet printServiceAttributeSet = new HashPrintServiceAttributeSet(); JRPrintServiceExporter exporter = new JRPrintServiceExporter(); exporter.setParameter(JRExporterParameter.JASPER_PRINT, jasperPrint); exporter.setParameter(JRPrintServiceExporterParameter.PRINT_REQUEST_ATTRIBUTE_SET, printRequestAttributeSet); exporter.setParameter(JRPrintServiceExporterParameter.PRINT_SERVICE_ATTRIBUTE_SET, printServiceAttributeSet); exporter.setParameter(JRPrintServiceExporterParameter.DISPLAY_PAGE_DIALOG, Boolean.FALSE); exporter.setParameter(JRPrintServiceExporterParameter.DISPLAY_PRINT_DIALOG, Boolean.TRUE); exporter.exportReport(); Here I am passing jasperPrint as a parameter which i manually construted. Its working good My problem is: I created war file and pasted in tomcat Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 6.0\webapps directory and started the tomcat by using services.msc. At this point, its not displaying the listed printer details and also not printing. I put some logger, I found that, the code is hanging with exporter.exportReport(); after this line code is not executing . Please suggest me for how to print from client side using jasper

  • Blackberry apps: Native or webapps?

    - by jpartogi
Dear all, I have read the Blackberry documentation and it is possible to push a notification from a webapp. I am planning to create a Blackberry application that compliments to our webapps. But I am still left in the middle whether to develop a webapp or native Blackberry app. I have also look at how a webapp runs on Blackberry browser and it looks smooth. From your experience does the native app offer something that the webapp doesn't? Bonus question, is Facebook and Twitter app on Blackberry a native app or a webapp? If it is a webapp, is it possible to make a launcher for the application on Blackberry? Thanks for your help.
