  Im stuck when trying to write to my file within my subprogram. void new_page(float *a, float *b, float *c, int *d){ fprintf(results,"\nPage Totals: %f\t%f\t%f\t%d", *a,*b,*c,*d); } I get a warning saying "Warning: incompatible implicit declaration of built-in function 'fprinf' [enabled by default]" "error: 'results' undeclared (first use in this function)" in main fprintf works fine, its just when it comes to the subprogram/function it wont work. from my understanding it thinks that results is undeclared, so do i have to pass the name or location of the file to make it work?

• Rails - Preventing users from contributing to website when there score is too low - callback / obser

  A User can add a Sentence directly on my website, via twitter or email. To add a sentence they must have a minimum score. If they don't have the minimum score they cant post the sentence and a warning message is either flashed on the website, sent back to them via twitter or email. So I'm wondering how best to code this check. Im thinking a sentence observer. So far my thoughts are in before_create score_sufficient() - score ok = save - score too low = do not save In the case of too low i need to return some flag so that the calling code can then fire off teh relevant warning. What type of flag should I return? False is too ambiguous as that could refer to validation. I could raise an exception but that doesn't sound right or I could return a symbol? Is this even the right approach? What's the best way to code this?

  I have a pesky table that will not delete and it's holding up my dev environment refresh :( I know this table exists. • Issues using UITapGestureRecognizers in Interface Builder

  I'm attempting to use the UITapGestureRecognizer object that can be found in Interface Builder. I've dragged a single "UITapGestureRecognizer" from the object library to a single view xib. I then create an IBAction method from this tap gesture, for a simple test, I'm just printing an "NSLog" message to the console once there is a tap on the view. I've run this, and the tap method isn't being called. I right click the view in IB and I noticed that there is a warning "!" on the view's "Outlook Collections" I see: Outlook Collections gestureRecognizers - Tap Gesture Recognizer (!) The warning states: UIView does not have an outlet collection named gestureRecognizers. What do I need to do to remedy this?

  Basically, I need to call a method in my AppDelegate from one of my view controller classes. Currently, I'm doing the following: myAppDelegate *appDelegate = (myAppDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; [appDelegate doMethod]; And including the myAppDelegate.h at the top of the .m file of the class: #import "myAppDelegate.h" When I run it, everything works...   Does anybody know how to switch off exception handling option in MSVC? I tried to set the option 'Enable C++ exceptions' to 'NO' and I got warning: warning C4530: C++ exception handler used, but unwind semantics are not enabled. Specify /EHsc I would like to switch off the exception handler, too, but I don't know how. In my application I basically need more speer than stability, therefore I chose switching off the exception handling. I do not have any try/catch blocks, but I do use STL. When I switch the option 'Enable C++ exceptions' to 'NO' is there any way how to get rid of those warnings?

  There is a snippet of code that I would like to copy and paste into my Python interpreter. Unfortunately due to Python's sensitivity to whitespace it is not straightforward to copy and paste it a way that makes sense. (I think the whitespace gets mangled) Is there a better way? Maybe I can load the snippet from a file.   Hello, I have a "database solution" project in VS2008 - it generates SQL for more than one DB vendor from some sort of templates. In order to save time, I also have a tool in VS2008 configured (a Python script), which can compile an individual stored procedure. Now, with the Python script I have the freedom of processing the output and have it take on whatever form I want. I am toying with an idea of having these errors and warnings somehow recognized and populating the click-able Error / Warning list. This is what a typical Oracle error looks like: LINE/COL ERROR -------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- 324/5 PL/SQL: Statement ignored 324/82 PLS-00363: expression 'VSOURCE_SYSTEM_ID' cannot be used as an assignment target Warning: Procedure created with compilation errors. However, if I add any gems to my environment.rb: config.gem "authlogic" And run the same generator, I get the following: /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/rails-2.3.5/lib/rails/gem_dependency.rb:119:Warning: Gem::Dependency#version_requirements is deprecated and will be removed on or after August 2010.   So I'm writing a program which returns a procedure for some given arithmetic problem, so I wanted to instance a couple of functions to Show so that I can print the same expression I evaluate when I test. • CSS problem on HTTPS pages (IE8 toolbar BHO)

  I am developing an IE8 toolbar in C#. The toolbar has a button which when clicked adds some user defined content to the page. I am using a BHO to add the required HTML, CSS & JS to the page. Things are fine with "http" pages. But, when a "https" page is loaded, user keeps getting the IE warning "Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely?....". I traced the problem to some css rules, where I am using local png files which are already installed on the user's machine. Is there any way by which I can access the png files on the local machine without getting the IE8 warning?

• Project hosting on Google Code. Files are cahced?

  I do not really understand how Google Code handles file versioning. I am building a jQuery plugin that anyone can access. Like so: <script type="text/javascript" src="http://jquery-old-browser-warning.googlecode.com/files/jquery.browser-warning.js"></script> This script accesses other files on the same project (via ajax). The problem is, that when I upload a new file, it just seems like there aren't any changed to it. Google recommends that new files should have new names. But then I would have to change the filenames that the script loads. But then I would have to change the script file as well, and that would break everybodys implementation (with the script-tag above) Is there a way to force a file to change when uploading with the same filename? PS: If I go directly to the project page's file list. Then I do get the file with the updated content. But as I said, not when getting it through ajax.

  In Javascript I can call any method with more than the necessary amount of parameters and the extra parameters are silently ignored. e.g. letters = ['a','b','c'] //correct letters.indexOf('a') //This also works without error or warning letters.indexOf('a', "blah", "ignore me", 38) Are there ways to detect cases where this occurs? My motivation is that in my experience cases where this occurs are usually bugs. Identification of these by code analysis or at runtime would help track these errors down. These cases are especially prevalent where people are expecting alterations to base types which may not have occurred. Logging a warning where this happens e.g. Date.parse('02--12--2012', 'dd--MM--YYYY') Notes: To be clear I would like a solution that doesn't involve me sprinkling checks all over my code and other peoples' code.

  I'm new to PHP sessions and I've come across the following error: Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cookie - headers already sent by (output started at somefile:someline). As well as this one: Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent by (output started at somefile:someline). The session_start(); is the very first thing in all of my code. I'm not sure what the problem is. It gave me line numbers but all I do on those lines is start the session. Also - I have a portion of code whose POST action is another PHP page. How can I set a $_SESSION variable pertaining to this page within that action page?

  Okay, mkstemp is the preferred way to create a temp file in POSIX. But it opens the file and returns an int, which is a file descriptor. From that I can only create a FILE*, but not an std::ofstream, which I would prefer in C++. (Apparently, on AIX and some other systems, you can create an std::ofstream from a file descriptor, but my compiler complains when I try that.) I know I could get a temp file name with tmpnam and then open my own ofstream with it, but that's apparently unsafe due to race conditions, and results in a compiler warning (g++ v3.4. on Linux): warning: the use of `tmpnam' is dangerous, better use `mkstemp' So, is there any portable way to create an std::ofstream to a temp file?

• iPhone using Camera causes array to be unloaded

  I have an array of images that I'm displaying in a UITableView. When choosing images from the library using the UIImagePicker, everything is totally fine and I can add a lot of images to the array. As soon as I add an image from the camera using the Picker I receive a memory warning and my array of images is ditched. Coming back from the camera picker, the table view is empty. The UIImagePicker when using the camera as the source generates a memory warning before I have a chance to resize the image.
