  • Using SSIS to send a HTML E-Mail Message with built-in table of Counts.

    - by Kevin Shyr
For the record, this can be just as easily done with a .NET class with a DLL call.  The two major reasons for this ending up as a SSIS package are: There are a lot of SQL resources for maintenance, but not as many .NET developers. There is an existing automated process that links up SQL Jobs (more on that in the next post), and this is part of that process.   To start, this is what the SSIS looks like: The first part of the control flow is just for the override scenario.   In the Execute SQL Task, it calls a stored procedure, which already formats the result into XML by using "FOR XML PATH('Row'), ROOT(N'FieldingCounts')".  The result XML string looks like this: <FieldingCounts>   <Row>     <CellId>M COD</CellId>     <Mailed>64</Mailed>     <ReMailed>210</ReMailed>     <TotalMail>274</TotalMail>     <EMailed>233</EMailed>     <TotalSent>297</TotalSent>   </Row>   <Row>     <CellId>M National</CellId>     <Mailed>11</Mailed>     <ReMailed>59</ReMailed>     <TotalMail>70</TotalMail>     <EMailed>90</EMailed>     <TotalSent>101</TotalSent>   </Row>   <Row>     <CellId>U COD</CellId>     <Mailed>91</Mailed>     <ReMailed>238</ReMailed>     <TotalMail>329</TotalMail>     <EMailed>291</EMailed>     <TotalSent>382</TotalSent>   </Row>   <Row>     <CellId>U National</CellId>     <Mailed>63</Mailed>     <ReMailed>286</ReMailed>     <TotalMail>349</TotalMail>     <EMailed>374</EMailed>     <TotalSent>437</TotalSent>   </Row> </FieldingCounts>  This result is saved into an internal SSIS variable with the following settings on the General tab and the Result Set tab:   Now comes the trickier part.  We need to use the XML Task to format the XML string result into an HTML table, and I used Direct input XSLT And here is the code of XSLT: <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"> <xsl:output method="html" indent="yes"/>   <xsl:template match="/ROOT">         <table border="1" cellpadding="6">           <tr>             <td></td>             <td>Mailed</td>             <td>Re-mailed</td>             <td>Total Mail (Mailed, Re-mailed)</td>             <td>E-mailed</td>             <td>Total Sent (Mailed, E-mailed)</td>           </tr>           <xsl:for-each select="FieldingCounts/Row">             <tr>               <xsl:for-each select="./*">                 <td>                   <xsl:value-of select="." />                 </td>               </xsl:for-each>             </tr>           </xsl:for-each>         </table>   </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet>    Then a script task is used to send out an HTML email (as we are all painfully aware that SSIS Send Mail Task only sends plain text) Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 using System; using System.Data; using Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime; using System.Windows.Forms; using System.Net.Mail; using System.Net;   namespace ST_b829a2615e714bcfb55db0ce97be3901.csproj {     [System.AddIn.AddIn("ScriptMain", Version = "1.0", Publisher = "", Description = "")]     public partial class ScriptMain : Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.ScriptTask.VSTARTScriptObjectModelBase     {           #region VSTA generated code         enum ScriptResults         {             Success = Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.DTSExecResult.Success,             Failure = Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.DTSExecResult.Failure         };         #endregion           public void Main()         {             String EmailMsgBody = String.Format("<HTML><BODY><P>{0}</P><P>{1}</P></BODY></HTML>"                                                 , Dts.Variables["Config_SMTP_MessageSourceText"].Value.ToString()                                                 , Dts.Variables["InternalStr_CountResultAfterXSLT"].Value.ToString());             MailMessage EmailCountMsg = new MailMessage(Dts.Variables["Config_SMTP_From"].Value.ToString().Replace(";", ",")                                                         , Dts.Variables["Config_SMTP_Success_To"].Value.ToString().Replace(";", ",")                                                         , Dts.Variables["Config_SMTP_SubjectLinePrefix"].Value.ToString() + " " + Dts.Variables["InternalStr_FieldingDate"].Value.ToString()                                                         , EmailMsgBody);             //EmailCountMsg.From.             EmailCountMsg.CC.Add(Dts.Variables["Config_SMTP_Success_CC"].Value.ToString().Replace(";", ","));             EmailCountMsg.IsBodyHtml = true;               SmtpClient SMTPForCount = new SmtpClient(Dts.Variables["Config_SMTP_ServerAddress"].Value.ToString());             SMTPForCount.Credentials = CredentialCache.DefaultNetworkCredentials;               SMTPForCount.Send(EmailCountMsg);               Dts.TaskResult = (int)ScriptResults.Success;         }     } } Note on this code: notice the email list has Replace(";", ",").  This is only here because the list is configurable in the SQL Job Step at Set Values, which does not react well with colons as email separator, but system.Net.Mail only handles comma as email separator, hence the extra replace in the string. The result is a nicely formatted email message with count information:

  • HTML + javascript mouse over, mouseout, onclick not working in firefox.

    - by help_inmssql
    Hello Everyone, My question is to get onMouseover,onMouseout,onMousedown,onClick on a table row. For which i am calling javascript userdefined functions. onMouseover --- Background color should change. onMouseout --- Reset to original color onClick --- First column checkbox/radio button should be set and background color should change onMousedown --- background color should change. My code in html is:- <tr onMouseOver="hover(this)" onMouseOut="hover_out(this)" onMouseDown="get_first_state(this)" onClick="checkit(this)" > and the methods in javascripts are:- var first_state = false; var oldcol = '#ffffff'; var oldcol_cellarray = new Array(); function hover(element) { if (! element) element = this; while (element.tagName != 'TR') { element = element.parentNode; } if (element.style.fontWeight != 'bold') { for (var i = 0; i<element.cells.length; i++) { if (element.cells[i].className != "no_hover") { oldcol_cellarray[i] = element.cells[i].style.backgroundColor; element.cells[i].style.backgroundColor='#e6f6f6'; } } } } // ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- function hover_out(element) { if (! element) element = this; while (element.tagName != 'TR') { element = element.parentNode; } if (element.style.fontWeight != 'bold') { for (var i = 0; i<element.cells.length; i++) { if (element.cells[i].className != "no_hover") { if (typeof oldcol_cellarray != undefined) { element.cells[i].style.backgroundColor=oldcol_cellarray[i]; } else { element.cells[i].style.backgroundColor='#ffffff'; } //var oldcol_cellarray = new Array(); } } } } // ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- function get_first_state(element) { while (element.tagName != 'TR') { element = element.parentNode; } first_state = element.cells[0].firstChild.checked; } // ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- function checkit (element) { while (element.tagName != 'TR') { element = element.parentNode; } if (element.cells[0].firstChild.type == 'radio') { var typ = 0; } else if (element.cells[0].firstChild.type == 'checkbox') { typ = 1; } if (element.cells[0].firstChild.checked == true && typ == 1) { if (element.cells[0].firstChild.checked == first_state) { element.cells[0].firstChild.checked = false; } set_rowstyle(element, element.cells[0].firstChild.checked); } else { if (typ == 0 || element.cells[0].firstChild.checked == first_state) { element.cells[0].firstChild.checked = true; } set_rowstyle(element, element.cells[0].firstChild.checked); } if (typ == 0) { var table = element.parentNode; if (table.tagName != "TABLE") { table = table.parentNode; } if (table.tagName == "TABLE") { table=table.tBodies[0].rows; //var table = document.getElementById("js_tb").tBodies[0].rows; for (var i = 1; i< table.length; i++) { if (table[i].cells[0].firstChild.checked == true && table[i] != element) { table[i].cells[0].firstChild.checked = false; } if (table[i].cells[0].firstChild.checked == false) { set_rowstyle(table[i], false); } } } } } function set_rowstyle(r, on) { if (on == true) { for (var i =0; i < r.cells.length; i++) { r.style.fontWeight = 'bold'; r.cells[i].style.backgroundColor = '#f2f2c2'; } } else { for ( i =0; i < r.cells.length; i++) { r.style.fontWeight = 'normal'; r.cells[i].style.backgroundColor = '#ffffff'; } } } It is working as expected in IE.   • NSFetchedResultsController not processing certain section driven moves

    - by JK
I utilize a NSFetchedResultsController (frc) with a Core Data store. I implement all the frc delegate methods. The table is sporadically updated by background threads. All the inserts, deletes and updates work fine, with the exception that updates to the frc's index key for rows toward to the bottom of the table (50 rows), do not result in a section move. e.g. if "name" is the index key and the name "Victor" is changed to "Alex", the victor row now shows the name Alex, but is not moved to the top of the table alongside all other names starting with A. As I noted, this is only for rows towards the bottom of the table. If a row like "Andy" is changed to "Ben", the move is indeed processed correctly by the frc. Any suggestions to fix this would be appreciated. I do not use a frc cache. Thanks

  • how to save state of dynamically created editTexts

    - by user922531
I'm stuck at how to save the state of my EditTexts on screen orientation. Currently if text is inputted into the EditTexts and the screen is orientated, the fields are wiped (as expected). I am already calling onSaveInstanceState and saving a String, but I have no clue on how to save the EditTexts which are created in code and then retrieve them and add them to the EditTexts when redrawing the activity. Snippet of my code: My main activity is as follows: public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); // get the multidim array b = getIntent().getBundleExtra("obj"); m = (Methods) b.getSerializable("Methods"); // method to draw the layout InitialiseUI(); // Restore UI state from the savedInstanceState. if (savedInstanceState != null) { String strValue = savedInstanceState.getString("light"); if (strValue != null) { FLight = strValue; } } try { mCamera = Camera.open(); if (FLight.equals("true")) { flashLight(); } } catch (Exception e) { Log.d(TAG, "Thrown exception onCreate() camera: " + e); } } // end onCreate /** Called when the back button is pressed. */ @Override public void onResume() { super.onResume(); try { mCamera = Camera.open(); if (FLight.equals("true")) { flashLight(); } } catch (Exception e) { Log.d(TAG, "Thrown exception onCreate() camera: " + e); } } // end onCreate /** saves data before leaving the screen */ @Override protected void onSaveInstanceState(Bundle outState) { super.onSaveInstanceState(outState); outState.putString("light", FLight); } /** called when exiting / leaving the screen */ @Override protected void onPause() { super.onPause(); Log.d(TAG, "onPause()"); if (mCamera != null) { mCamera.stopPreview(); mCamera.release(); mCamera = null; } } /* * set up the UI elements - add click listeners to buttons used in * onCreate() and onConfigurationChanged() * * Set the editTexts fields to show the previous readings as Hints */ public void InitialiseUI() { Log.d(TAG, "Start of InitialiseUI, Main activity"); // get a reference to the TableLayout final TableLayout myTLreads = (TableLayout) findViewById(R.id.myTLreads); // Create arrays to hold the TVs and ETs final TextView[] myTextViews = new TextView[m.getNoRows()]; // create an empty array; final EditText[] myEditTexts = new EditText[m.getNoRows()]; // create an empty array; for(int i =0; i<=m.getNoRows()-1;i++ ){ TableRow tr=new TableRow(this); tr.setLayoutParams(new LayoutParams( LayoutParams.MATCH_PARENT, LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT)); // create a new textview / editText final TextView rowTextView = new TextView(this); final EditText rowEditText = new EditText(this); // setWidth is needed otherwise my landscape layout is OFF rowEditText.setWidth(400); // this stops the keyboard taking up the whole screen in landscape layout rowEditText.setImeOptions(EditorInfo.IME_FLAG_NO_EXTRACT_UI); // add some padding to the right of the TV rowTextView.setPadding(0,0,10,0); // set colors to white rowTextView.setTextColor(Color.parseColor("#FFFFFF")); rowEditText.setTextColor(Color.parseColor("#FFFFFF")); // if readings already sent today set color to yellow if(m.getTransmit(i+1)==false){ rowEditText.setEnabled(false); rowEditText.setHintTextColor(Color.parseColor("#FFFF00")); } // set the text of the TV to the meter name rowTextView.setText(m.getMeterName(i+1)); // set the hint of the ET to the last submitted reading rowEditText.setHint(m.getLastReadString(i+1)); // add the textview to the linearlayout rowEditText.setInputType(InputType.TYPE_CLASS_PHONE);//InputType.TYPE_NUMBER_FLAG_DECIMAL); tr.addView(rowTextView); tr.addView(rowEditText); myTLreads.addView(tr); // add a reference to the textView myTextViews[i] = rowTextView; myEditTexts[i] = rowEditText; } final Button submit = (Button) findViewById(R.id.submitReadings); // add a click listener to the button try { submit.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { Log.d(TAG, "Submit button clicked, Main activity"); preSubmitCheck(m.getAccNo(), m.getPostCode(), myEditTexts); // method to do HTML getting and sending } }); } catch (Exception e) { Log.d(TAG, "Exceptions (submit button)" + e.toString()); } }// end of InitialiseUI I don't need to do anything with these values until a button is clicked. Would it be easier if they were a ListView, i'm guessing I would still have the problem of saving them and retrieving them on rotation. If it helps I have an object m which is a string[][] I could temporarily somehow store them in

  • What is the trick in pAddress & ~(PAGE_SIZE - 1) to get the page's base address

    - by Dbger
Following function is used to get the page's base address of an address which is inside this page: void* GetPageAddress(void* pAddress) { return (void*)((ULONG_PTR)pAddress & ~(PAGE_SIZE - 1)); } But I couldn't quite get it, what is the trick it plays here? Conclusion: Personally, I think Amardeep's explanation plus Alex B's example are best answers. As Alex B's answer has already been voted up, I would like to accept Amardeep's answer as the official one to highlight it! Thanks you all.

  • scraping text from multiple html files into a single csv file

    - by Lulu
I have just over 1500 html pages (1.html to 1500.html). I have written a code using Beautiful Soup that extracts most of the data I need but "misses" out some of the data within the table. My Input: e.g file 1500.html My Code: #!/usr/bin/env python import glob import codecs from BeautifulSoup import BeautifulSoup with codecs.open('dump2.csv', "w", encoding="utf-8") as csvfile: for file in glob.glob('*html*'): print 'Processing', file soup = BeautifulSoup(open(file).read()) rows = soup.findAll('tr') for tr in rows: cols = tr.findAll('td') #print >> csvfile,"#".join(col.string for col in cols) #print >> csvfile,"#".join(td.find(text=True)) for col in cols: print >> csvfile, col.string print >> csvfile, "===" print >> csvfile, "***" Output: One CSV file, with 1500 lines of text and columns of data. For some reason my code does not pull out all the required data but "misses" some data, e.g the Address1 and Address 2 data at the start of the table do not come out. I modified the code to put in * and === separators, I then use perl to put into a clean csv file, unfortunately I'm not sure how to work my code to get all the data I'm looking for!

  • Populate datagrid using Datacontext in C# WPF

    - by anon
I'm trying to get data from file. The file first has three lines of text that describes the file, then there is a header for the data below. I've managed to extract that. What I'm having problems is getting the data below the header line. The data below the header line can look like "1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 abc". DataGrid dataGrid1 = new DataGrid(); masterGrid.Children.Add(dataGrid1); using (TextReader tr = new StreamReader(@filename)) { int lineCount = 1; while (tr.Peek() >= 0) { string line = tr.ReadLine(); { string[] data = line.Trim().Split(' '); Dictionary<string, object> sensorData = new Dictionary<string, object>(); for (int i = 0, j = 0; i < data.Length; i++) { //I know that I'm delimiting the data by a space before. //but the data from the text file doesn't necessarily have //just one space between each piece of data //so if I don't do this, spaces will become part of the data. if (String.Compare(data[i]," ") > 0) { sensorData[head[j]] = data[i]; j++; } } sensorDatas.Add(sensorData); sensorData = null; } lineCount++; } } dataGrid1.DataContext = sensorDatas; I can't figure out why this doens't work. If I change "dataGrid1.DataContext = sensorDatas;" to "dataGrid1.ItemsSource = sensorDatas;" then I get the data in the proper columns, but I also get some Raw View data such as: Comparer, Count, Keys, Values as columns, which I don't want. Any insight?

  • Create a HTML table from nested maps (and vectors)

    - by Kenny164
I'm trying to create a table (a work schedule) I have coded previously using python, I think it would be a nice introduction to the Clojure language for me. I have very little experience in Clojure (or lisp in that matter) and I've done my rounds in google and a good bit of trial and error but can't seem to get my head around this style of coding. Here is my sample data (will be coming from an sqlite database in the future): (def smpl2 (ref {"Salaried" [{"John Doe" ["12:00-20:00" nil nil nil "11:00-19:00"]} {"Mary Jane" [nil "12:00-20:00" nil nil nil "11:00-19:00"]}] "Shift Manager" [{"Peter Simpson" ["12:00-20:00" nil nil nil "11:00-19:00"]} {"Joe Jones" [nil "12:00-20:00" nil nil nil "11:00-19:00"]}] "Other" [{"Super Man" ["07:00-16:00" "07:00-16:00" "07:00-16:00" "07:00-16:00" "07:00-16:00"]}]})) I was trying to step through this originally using for then moving onto doseq and finally domap (which seems more successful) and dumping the contents into a html table (my original python program outputed this from a sqlite database into an excel spreadsheet using COM). Here is my attempt (the create-table fn): (defn html-doc [title & body] (html (doctype "xhtml/transitional") [:html [:head [:title title]] [:body body]])) (defn create-table [] [:h1 "Schedule"] [:hr] [:table (:style "border: 0; width: 90%") [:th "Name"][:th "Mon"][:th "Tue"][:th "Wed"] [:th "Thur"][:th "Fri"][:th "Sat"][:th "Sun"] [:tr (domap [ct @smpl2] [:tr [:td (key ct)] (domap [cl (val ct)] (domap [c cl] [:tr [:td (key c)]]))]) ]]) (defroutes tstr (GET "/" ((html-doc "Sample" create-table))) (ANY "*" 404)) That outputs the table with the sections (salaried, manager, etc) and the names in the sections, I just feel like I'm abusing the domap by nesting it too many times as I'll probably need to add more domaps just to get the shift times in their proper columns and the code is getting a 'dirty' feel to it. I apologize in advance if I'm not including enough information, I don't normally ask for help on coding, also this is my 1st SO question :). If you know any better approaches to do this or even tips or tricks I should know as a newbie, they are definitely welcome. Thanks.
