• Windows Mobile: "My network card connects to" registry settings

  Can anybody please tell me the registry setting(s) that are affected in Windows Mobile 6.1 when a user selects Start - Settings - Connections - Wi-Fi and then changes the value of the "My network card connects to" drop down list on the "Network Adapters" tab? I have a device that seems to default this to "The Internet" when in fact the Wi-Fi connects to the corporate network and I would like to be able to change this programatically rather than expecting 250+ users to have to do it manually every time they reboot their devices. • Eclipse PDT "tips" ?

  Hi ! (Yes, this is a quite opened and general and subjective question -- it's by design, cause I want tips you think are great !) I'm using Eclipse PDT 2.1 to work in PHP, either for small and/or big projects -- I've been doing so for quite some times, now, actually (since before 1.0 stable, if I remember well)... I was wondering if any of you did know "tips" to be more efficient. Let met explain more in details : I know about things like plugins like Aptana (better editor for JS/CSS), Subversive (for SVN access), RSE, Filesync, integrating Xdebug's debugger, ... What I mean by "tips" is more some little things you discovered one day and since use all the time -- and allow you to be more efficient in your PHP projects. Some examples of "tips" that come to my mind, and that already know and use : ctrl+space to open the list of suggestions for functions / variables names ctrl+shift+R (navigate > open resource) to open a popup which show only files which names contain what you type ; ie, quick opening of files this one might be the perfect example : I know this one is not often known by coworkers and they find it as useful as I do ; so, I guess there might be lots of other things like this one I don't know myself ^^ ctrl+M to switch to full-screen view for the editor (instead of double-click on tabs bar) shift+F2 while on a function name, to open it's page if the PHP manual in a browser Attention Mac Users use Command instead Control. I guess you get the point ; but I'm really open to any suggestion (be it eclipse-related in general, of more PHP/PDT-specific) that can help be be more efficient :-) Anyway, thanks in advance for your help !

• iPhone: Setup static content of UITableView

  This guide from apple https://developer.apple.com/iphone/prerelease/library/documentation/UserExperience/Conceptual/TableView_iPhone/TableViewCells/TableViewCells.html (you need login) explains how to use "The Technique for Static Row Content" to use Interface Builder to setup the cells in a tableview. I have some cells with different heights in my tableview. Without using the heightForRowAtIndexPath method everything get messed up. Do I still need to use this method or can I in some way setup the height of the cells inside the IB as I created them there? Also when using the "The Technique for Static Row Content" from the guide you still need to use the cellForRowAtIndexPath to setup the cells even if they are created in IB. I would like to setup the full layout of the tableview with all cells in IB (drag the cells right into the tableview), is that possible in some way? Thanks!

• How do I get a div to float to the bottom of its container?

  I have floated images and inset boxes at the top of a container using float:right (or left) many times. Recently I hit a need to float a div at the bottom right corner of another div with the normal text wrap that you get with float (text wrapped above and to the left only). I thought this must be relatively easy even though float has no bottom value but I haven't been able to do it using a number of techniques and searching the web hasn't come up with anything other than using absolute positioning but this doesn't give the correct word wrap behaviour. I had thought this would be a very common design but apparently it isn't. If nobody has a suggestion I'll have to break my text up into separate boxes and align the div manually but that is rather precarious and I'd hate to have to do it on every page that needs it.

  I would like to assert that a table row contains the data that I expect in two different tables. How can I achieve this? Update: Sounds like the problem is a bug in Selenium when trying to select descendants. • Tips for a successful AppStore submission?

  In a day or two I'll be ready to submit my iPhone app to the AppStore and I'm curious whether people who have gone through this process have any tips / suggestions for a smooth submission process. Here's things I've covered; No memory leaks Tested performance on an actual device Doesn't crash :) Using correct certificates / profile What I'm a little unsure about are how to configure the "Bundle Display Name" /"Bundle Identifier" and "Bundle Name" in info.plist. I understand the first is the text that's shown on the iPhone itself, but what about the last? Does this have to match Bundle Identifier? Are there any other things I should add to the info.plist? I've noticed that when built for Adhoc distribution my app does not have any author/title information in iTunes.

• Using Sandy 3D AS3, fill the viewport (exact fit) with multiple 3D objects.

  I'm stitching together an image using multiple instances of the sandy.primitive.Box. Each box is 96x91 while the viewport is 960x273 which should make for an exact fit if I layout the boxes in a perfect grid of 10x3. However, I can't seem to get the exact camera fieldOfView. I've tried a couple formulas (one for adjusting the "focal length" and one for adjusting the fov, directly). Both of these formulas produce a fov angle that is too narrow. // focal length (stage.stageHeight/2) / Math.tan(cam.fov / 2 * Math.PI / 180) // field of view 2 * Math.atan2( (stage.stageHeight/2), -cam.z ) * (180 / Math.PI) Another question about the same project: I need to adjust the perspective of each cube so that the image appears to be in 2D space (flat)... Any ideas on the best method for calculating such a "correction"?

  I've got a basic photo album application, on the first view a list of albums is displayed with a subtitle showing how many images are in each album. I've got everything working to add albums, and add images to albums. The problem is that the image count lines are accurate whenever the app loads, but I can't get them to update during execution. Before outputing the html i need to "clean" with php on the server-side to avoid cross-site-scripting and other scary things. Is there some sort of best practice on how to do this? • vim plugin to show current Perl subroutine

  I'm trying to make a vim plugin that will split the window on load and simulate a info bar at the top of my terminal. I've got it sorta working but I think I've either reached limits of my knowledge of vim syntax or there's a logic problem in my code. The desired effect would be to do a reverse search for any declaration of a Perl subroutine form my current location in the active buffer and display the line in the top buffer. I'm also trying to make it skip that buffer when I switch buffers with <C-R>. My attempt at that so far can be seen in the mess of nested if statements. Anyway, here's the code. • Android depth buffer issue: Advice for anyone experiencing problem

  I've wasted around 30 hours this week writing and re-writing code, believing that I had misunderstood how the OpenGL depth buffer works. Everything I tried, failed. I have now resolved my problem by finding what may be an error in the Android implementation of OpenGL. See this API entry: http://www.opengl.org/sdk/docs/man/xhtml/glClearDepth.xml void glClearDepth(GLclampd depth); Specifies the depth value used when the depth buffer is cleared. The initial value is 1. Android's implementation has two versions of this command: glClearDepthx which takes an integer value, clamped 0-1 glClearDepthf which takes a floating point value, clamped 0-1 If you use glClearDepthf(1) then you get the results you would expect. If you use glClearDepthx(1), as I was doing then you get different results. (Note that 1 is the default value, but calling the command with the argument 1 produces different results than not calling it at all.) Quite what is happening I do not know, but the depth buffer was being cleared to a value different from what I had specified.

I searched and found this post which says "it [using an object as a method parameter] is not a good idea in Objective-C because Objective-C does not allow statically allocated object". Can anyone point out where I can find a more detailed explanation for this? Thank you.

  Hi all; My problem seems to be quite simple, but it's not working the intuitive way. I'm designing a Windows Forms Application, and there is a dialog that should NOT exit when the enter key is pressed, instead it has to validate data first, in case enter was pressed after changing the text of a ComboBox. I've tried by telling it what to do on KeyPress event of the ComboBox if e is the Enter key: Private Sub ComboBoxSizeChoose_KeyPress(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyPressEventArgs) Handles ComboBoxSizeChoose.KeyPress If e.KeyChar = Convert.ToChar(Keys.Enter) Then Try TamanhoDaNovaFonte = Single.Parse(ComboBoxSizeChoose.Text) Catch ex As Exception Dim Dialogo2 As New Dialog2 Dialog2.ShowDialog() ComboBoxSizeChoose.Text = TamanhoDaNovaFonte End Try End If End Sub But no success so far. When the Enter key is pressed, even with the ComboBox on focus, the whole dialog is closed, returning to the previous form. The validation is NOT done at all, and it has to be done before exiting. In fact, I don't even want to exit on the form's enter KeyPress, the only purpose of the enter key on the whole dialog is to validate the ComboBox (but only when in focus, for the sake of an intuitive UI). I've also tried appending the validation to the KeyPress event of the whole dialog's form, if the key is Enter. NO SUCCESS! It's like my code wasn't there at all. What should I do? (Visual Studio 2008, VB.NET)

• command line tool text output

  I have a small command line tool and after running it, I'd like to display the text output in a way that's easy for someone to copy/paste and save it or email it to someone else. Copy/pasting from a command prompt is not done in the standard way, so I don't want people to have to copy/paste from there. Saving the file to disk is possible, but the folder where the tool is located may not have access rights so the user would have to configure the output file location (this may be too tricky for some users). I was thinking of launching notepad with some text in it, generated from the command line tool. Is this possible? Any other suggestions?

• Checking if radio buttons are checked in Firefox

  On my site, I have two checkboxes created in my ASP.NET MVC view like so: Html.RadioButton("check", "true", "true" == (string) ViewData["someKey"], new { id = "check1"}); Html.RadioButton("check", "false", "false" == (string) ViewData["someKey"], new { id = "check2"}); I am positive that ViewData["someKey"] has the value "true" in it. In my JS init function, I perform the following check: alert($('#check1').is(':checked') + " " + $('#check2').is(':checked')); In Firefox (and only Firefox), my alert dialog will show the following (it works as expected in every other browser): Initial page load: true false Normal refresh via Ctrl + R: false false Refresh skipping cache via Ctrl + Shift + R: true false I have tried many different methods of looking at the checkbox value, including $('#check1').attr('checked') without success. If I examine the HTML in Firebug, I can see that the first radio button has the property checked="checked" in it. Why is the checkbox value changing in FF when I refresh, and how can I mitigate this? Since this seems to be a FF-only bug, how can I change my code to make it work? This SO question seemed to ask something similar, but none of the proposed solutions seem to work in this case. Edit: I should also point out that when the radio button is rendered after the refresh in FF, it's not actually being displayed as checked either, despite what the HTML is telling me.   Hello everybody, Membership/Role/Profile providers API appeared in early days of asp.net Nearly everytime I can't live with standard API & have to add some extra functionality (for sorting, retrieving e.t.c.). I also have to use different database structure often (with foreign key to some tables for example) or think about performance improvements. These considerations forced teams I took part in to build own providers but I can't stand to implement providers API (because we don't use 70% of standard functionality at least). Moreover, providers that were built for exact projects were rarely reused. I wonder if someone found swiss-knife early-days-API providers implementation that is usefull for any kind of project without refactoring... Or do you use your own implementations of early-days-API's Or may be you abandon standard architecture and use lightweight implementations ? Thank you in advance

• Using unmanaged code, how can I find a type that has a given custom attribute assigned to it?

  I had thought I could enumerate the types using IMetaDataImport.EnumTypeDefs and for each of the tokens returned, call IMetaDataImport.EnumCustomAttributes. This works, in so much as I get an array of mdCustomAttribute tokens. Using these tokens I can get a metadata token representing the Type of the returned custom attribute, by calling IMetaDataImport.GetCustomAttributeProps. Comparing my results against ILDASM, I can see that this matches the "CustomAttribute Type" that ILDASM reports. However, I cannot work out how to determine the "CustomAttributeName" that ILDASM reports. This is what I really want! While I would be interested in knowing how to get the CustomAttributeName, I would settle for an alternate approach to solving the problem.

• Mapping an instance of IList in NHibernate

  I'm trying to map a parent-child relationship using NHibernate (2.1.2), MySql.Data (6.2.2) and MySQL Server (5.1). I figured out that this must be done using a <bag> in the mapping file. I build a test app which is running without yielding any errors and is doing an insert for each entry but somehow the foreign key inside the children table (ParentId) is always empty (null). Here are the important parts of my code...   Hi again everyone. I'm working on a website with a large number of pages, and each one has this in it: <xsl:include href="team-menu.xsl" /> This xsl file is stored in the root directory. Essentially including my "team menu" on each page. My problem is when I include this on nested pages, e.g. "/teammembers/smith.xsl", the links in the menu are broken because they refer to pages that aren't in the same directory as the page i'm viewing. This is probably really easy, but I just don't know how to fix it. Is there a way to tell the XSL the root directory and/or set some sort of global directory? Thanks for your help!

I want to save these selections in a same structured list where at the deepest level the NSArray contains bool values instead the text strings that are displayed in the UITableView. So how can i build from a hierarchy like the following: Root - Item 0 (Dictionary) - Group (Dictionary) - Items (NSArray) - Item 0: @"Please check me" (String) a hierarchy like this? Then I have to retrieve data on postback. I have two ways but both of them looks ugly. Idea is to store dynamically created databounded controls on ItemDataBoundEvent in Page_Init stage, and process their values in Page_Load stage. It looks like this: private Dictionary<HiddenField, TextBox> Id2Mark = new Dictionary<HiddenField, TextBox>(); protected void rptExams_ItemDataBound(object sender, RepeaterItemEventArgs e) { ... if (IsPostBack) { var tbMark = (TextBox)e.Item.FindControl("tbMark"); var hfId = (HiddenField)e.Item.FindControl("hfId"); // store dynamically created controls Id2Mark.Add(hfId, tbMark); } ... } protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (IsPostBack) { foreach (var pair in Id2Mark) { int examId = Int32.Parse(pair.Key.Value); string mark = pair.Value.Text; // PROCESS } ...
