  Possible Duplicate: FireFox Gmail Notifier Plugin? Any body else have this problem? For the last 2-3 days it's not been working. I thought it might have been caused by another add-on, either a new one or updated one, so I disabled each one individually till I did them all. No luck.   I want to make a port forward from my public server to my home pc, to connect through ssh. What have I done wrong? From home pc I run command: ssh -R 8022:127.0.0.1:22 remote.host Now when I try to connect with: ssh remote.host -p 8022 I get error "Connection refused" But when I connect to remote.host through ssh, and try to run: ssh localhost -p 8022 It connects to my home PC. • Windows Server 2003 stops sharing a folder when the server reboots [closed]

  I have a file server that will stop sharing a particular folder once the server is rebooted. This problem happened after the server went through a p2v migration. There are no events that seem to correlate to this issue. I was reading http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/870964 but I don't think this applies and there are other shares on the same drive that are still there after a reboot. To be clear about the issue; When the server reboots share x is no longer shared any more but share y and z are still there. This has nothing to do with users not being able to see the share. On the server its self the folder that was shared is no longer shared. I wish I had more information to post but after hours on this issue I can't find a way to move forward.

  My internal Windows 2008 AD network is 172.20.xxx.xxx My Apple Wireless base stations only allows DHCP 172.16.xxx.xxx Private IP address ranges: 10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255 172.16.0.0 to 172.31.255.255 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255 The problem: The internet works from my IPad that has a 172.16.xxx.xxx address, but I can't access (browse) my tools server that is 172.20.xxx.xxx that host my Filemaker database. Is it possible to add 172.16.xxx.xxx range somewhere in DHCP or DNS on my Windows domain server so I can access tools? Or is there another way to make this connection work? Thanks

• web services access not being reached thru the web browser [closed]

  I am trying to reference my .asmx webservices in .NET but my server is not exposed to the internet. When I put on the following address I get the message mentioned below. What's the reason for not being able to see the directory? Am I missing something in my IIS configuraction? Am I missing anything in my permissions? Just as reference I have other folders with webservices and I have the same issue. When I login to the server I am doing it with my windows user and password (I am using windows authentication). It's necessary to mention that when I put the URL I am getting a popup screen to put in my userid and password but it seems that's not able to validate since keeps asking me a couple of times. • Recommendations for good Unix MTA / groupware solutions? [closed]

  Possible Duplicate: Exchange server replacement that runs on Linux I'm setting up a Debian server, and one of the things I need on it is an MTA. I don't want to use something like Exim or Postfix because I want something that ties in SMTP, POP3, and IMAP all in one (a la Microsoft Exchange). Most MTAs also seem to be hellishly difficult to configure. Try and read the Exim documentation; you could do a university degree on it (I'm not kidding). When you can get an HTTP server like Cherokee which is easy to configure and has a nice web interface, do MTAs or groupware solutions need to be that hard? I'm aware that some people think "the Unix way" is to have lots of different interacting pieces of software (like maybe an SMTP MTA, POP3 service, webmail service, and overarching manager to tie them all together), but I think this is a situation where that just makes things a lot harder to deal with and one large software suite fits in much more nicely. So, I'm looking for good open source software suites that will run on Debian that: Combine (at least) SMTP, POP3, and IMAP Are easy(ish) to configure Have a nice configuration web interface or GUI Are not defunct projects I don't mind if it's groupware and offers calendaring too, but I would only be using the e-mail functionality for now. Another nice-to-have would be built-in webmail (if we're combining a bunch of functionality, why not?) Note however that I do NOT need Outlook support. I am not really looking for an "Exchange replacement drop-in". The suites I've found so far that seem to match the above criteria (and have appropriate licenses) are Citadel, Kolab, and Zimbra. I'd appreciate anyone who has experience with any of these giving me the pros and cons of them, such as how easy they are to configure and what their performance is like. I'd also appreciate any other suggestions for solutions that fulfil my criteria that I may have missed out.

• Danger in running a proxy server? [closed]

  I currently have a home server that I'm using to learn more and more about servers. There's also the advantage of being able to run things like a Minecraft server (Yeah!). I recently installed and setup a proxy service known as Squid. The main reason was so that no matter where I was, I would be able to access sites without dealing with any network content filter (like at schools). I wanted to make this public but I had second thoughts on it. I thought last night that if people were using my proxy, couldn't they access illegal materials with it? What if someone used my proxy to download copyright material? Or launched an attack on another site via my proxy? What if someone actually looked up child pornography through the proxy? My question is, am I liable for what people use my proxy for? If someone does an illegal act and it leads to my proxy server, could I be held accountable for the actions done?

  I am reading several notes on SSL certificates and comparison. What matters to me the most is speed. I can read that encryption is same with all different certificates available but I was wondering if there is any difference in the performance of the website with different certificates involved. I am ofcourse interested in end to end response times and I wonder if the type of encryption or number of certificates required as Chain Certificates makes a difference in speed. I dont really care for cost but looking for a good SSL certificate which ideally gives me absolutely no pain and best performance. Recommendations?

I've decided to register it at https://nodedeploy.com/ but I have lot's of questions, conducted with it. Does that site provide VPS hosting or it is just a web-site hosting? Will the payments for the VPS be done automatically, or I'll have to do them manually? How do I select a VPS OS that will be installed? How do I get the root password? • Cannot see folders on my external drive [closed]

  I have a Windows Vista Home Premium machine, and am using a WD portable drive. My external drive is showing that it is occupying space, but I am no longer able to see any of my folders in there. Out of the 1 TB, its shows that 600 gigs are free, but the folders are gone! Please suggest some way of retrieving the files (I think they're must be some way to retireve them, since the disk utilization shows that something is on the disk). Appreciate your help!

A prerequisite for that is that the host computer have virtualization technology. I located an Intel cross reference of chips having virtualization technology but I am trying to find a "higher level" cross reference between computer models and virtualization technology availability, skipping the extra step of having to first look up what CPU chip is in a machine, then cross-referencing that on Intel's list.

• Choosing parts for a high-spec custom PC - feedback required [closed]

  I'm looking to build a high-spec PC costing under ~£800 (bearing in mind I can get the CPU half price). This is my first time doing this so I have plenty of questions! Will it be sufficient for the above usage? I won't be doing any overclocking initially. Is it worth buying the H60 liquid cooler, or will the fan that comes with the CPU be sufficient? Is water cooling generally quieter? Is the chosen motherboard good for the current components? And is it future-proof? I read that the HDD is often the bottleneck when it comes to gaming. I presume this is true to other high-end applications? If so, is my selection good? I keep changing my mind about the GPU; first the 560, now the 660. Can anyone shed some light on how to choose? I read mixed opinions about matching the GPU to the CPU. Will the 560 or the 660 be sufficient for my required usage? Atm I'm basing my choice on the PassMark benchmarks and how much they cost. The specs on the GeForce website state that the 560 and the 660 both require 450W. Is this a good figure to base the wattage of my PSU on? If so, how do you decide? Do I really need 750W? The latest GTX 690 requires 650W. Is it a good idea to buy a 750W PSU now to future-proof myself?

  Does anyone have a solution for syncing large directories/filesystems using just a USB flash drive (and specifically without using a network connection)? The objective is simply to sync a user directory between two computers. The contents of the user directory could amount to a large quantity of data—say, a quantity larger than could be stored on any single USB drive—but the aggregate size of changes that must be propagated by a single sync could easily fit on a USB drive. As an example, suppose a user directory is already synchronized between a desktop and a laptop computer. Here's a use case: Some changes are made in the user directory on the desktop. We mount a USB drive onto the desktop and copy whatever changes need to be applied to the laptop user directory in order to synchronize the desktop and laptop user directories. We now mount the USB drive onto the laptop and apply the changes. The desktop and laptop user directories are now synchronized. Any ideas? Alan

  I'm struggling to get SSL working on Glassfish 3.1.1. I've been following tutorials like http://javadude.wordpress.com/2010/04/06/getting-started-with-glassfish-v3-and-ssl/ and SO posts like this Issues with setting up SSL on Glassfish v3 The above links are for information only. I've summarised what I've done below. As far as I can tell I'm doing everything correctly but I'm getting this error: SSL configuration is invalid due to No available certificate or key corresponds to the SSL cipher suites which are enabled Some background of what I have done: My cert is from GoDaddy. I generated the CSR from a new keystore (keystore.jks), then imported the resulting certs back into the same keystore and set the keystore password to the same pwd as the GF master password. Then created a new SSL listener in GF and pointed it at my keystore file (which I copied into domains/domain1/config). Set the Nickname to the alias of my cert (which is something liem 'mydomain.org' i.e. the name that I get when I run keytool -list. In my ciphers section in the network listeners page, I leave the defaults in place (empty, which means all ciphers are available I think). In domain.xml I've replaced all instances of s1as to 'mydomain.org'. This is the question: What exactly is causing the error highlighted? I'm guessing it's a mismatch between my listener config and aliases in my keystore, or something similar, but I'm not really sure what. Thanks

  Hi, My system has a NIC (Marvell Yukon) built-into the motherboard, but I also have a D-Link (RealTek) card. I figure that using the D-Link and disabling the Marvell makes the most sense, though I'm wondering if maybe the built-in one has better throughput (not that my Internet connection is so fast). Also, I'm wondering about the merits of using both at the same time. My router has four ports and I have experimented with enabling and plugging both NICs into the router. I was able to connect to the Internet, but the pattern of usage seemed irregular (which adapter was chosen for the transfer and any given point). I also considered bridging the two, but am having difficulty in finding out what exactly creating network bridge does in the context of the Windows Network Connections window. I am familiar with the concept of connecting networks, so it seems to me that birding two connections on the same segment is pointless at best (and can cause problems like loops?) Does anyone have any tips on what to do if a system has more than one NIC and any clarification on the bridge option? Thanks a lot.

  I guess it's socket programming. But I have never done socket programming expect for running the tutorial examples while learning Python. I need some more ideas to implement this. What I specifically need is to run a monitoring program of a server which will poll or listen to traffic being exchange from different IPs across different popular ports. For example, how do I get data received and sent through port 80 of 192.168.1.10 and 192.168.1.1 ( which is the gateway). I checked out a number of ready made tools like MRTG, Bwmon, Ntop etc but since we are looking at doing some specific pattern studies, we need to do data capturing within the program. Idea is to monitor some popular ports and do a study of network traffic across some periods and compare them with some other data. We would like to figure a way to do all this with Python....

• Workaround for API limits [closed]

  Problem: Planning on building out a client services company that requires access to APIs. Most APIs are limited based on user, IP, etc. - and even though the API calls would be on a per client basis, there's no way to get usage not tied to IPs. (Theoretical) Solution: Have each client install on their network a proxy/VPN that would allow my systems to connect and use their assigned usage. So, it's possible there's a better solution than the one I've thought of, but it's the only one I've been able to come up with.

  I update my Podcast every week. But iTunes is not updating my last episode for more than a week. Strangely, those who subscribe my podcast can see the updated episode. But if you're not a subscriber, you can't see the last episode. It's here: http://www.aladinusa.com/podcast/rss.xml I checked it with the W3C validator and it says it's valid (with minor suggestion). • Wamp server won't run [closed]

  win xp sp3 I installed wamp 2.2 and after starting it was allways orrange and offline. Clicking on "Put Online" I got the error: wampserver aestan tray menu - could not execute menu item (internal error)... Somewhere I found the advice to change httpd.conf file (Listen 80 - to Listen 8080) Now, mouseover try icon shows that server is online, but it is still orrange, and click on localhost shows: Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost. Skype is not running and inside Skype options "Use port 80 and 443 as alternatives for incoming connections" is unchecked. A couple of months ago I was able to run wamp normaly. Could someone help, pls.
