  • Removing a view from Eclipse Window -> Show views

    We have an application in which some views only work when attached to certain perspectives. We want to remove those views from the Window - Show View menu so that users cannot add them to perspectives where they don't work. Any ideas on how to do this either programmatically or declaratively?

  • Eclipse/CDT editor not picking up project-defined symbols in coloring ifdef'ed out sections

    The problem I'm seeing is that under preferences, C/C++ Defined symbols for different Configurations/targets aren't showing up in the code coloring. When I change the active build configuration in the project menu, I would expect the editor & code coloring to pick up the symbols from the project settings, but it only seems to be picking up the symbols for one of the targets. Is there any way to have the code coloring for ifdef'ed code follow the active build configuration?

  • How do I disable Hot Code Replace in Eclipse

    HCR is failing alot more often than not for me at the moment. It keeps popping up the "Hot Code Replace Failed" dialog, over and over and over. I know there is a checkbox to shut it up, but later on when I'm doing something else I actually want the dialog to appear. Plus I don't want hot swapping code right now anyways, I just want the debugger. So is there a setting someplace for that "do not show dialog again" checkbox, for when I want to re-enable it? Better yet, is there a way to turn HCR on and off period? BTW, as far as I can tell disabling "Build Automatically" doesn't disable it.

    I have trouble using Facebook auth on my website... I'm using the PHP Sdk and I don't understand why I can use some functions like "getLoginUrl"/"getLoginStatusUrl"/"getUser" (with right answers : the facebook session is started, i get the user's facebook ID) and when I want to use something like $me = $facebook->api("/me/permissions"); or just $me = $facebook->api("/me"); there's always an exception and nothing works ... I guess it has something to do with permissions or token maybe, but I don't know what. When the user sign up on my website, I ask permissions I need with this scope : "email,user_about_me,user_location,read_friendlists,publish_stream" A clue that the permissions seem to be ok is that when the exception occures, I ask the user to sign in again (facebook connect) and no window appears as if everything's ok, but still, the page is reloaded and the exception appears again and again... Please help, Thank you !

I searched the api but I couldn't find any proof that I can do this with AS3? thought to drop a line here and ask if it's possible at all? specially being able to upload videos through the adobe air desktop app?     Hello, When i develop a project i create a folder in my project called libs. And in this folder i place all the library jars that i use. Is there a way to add just the libs folder to the class path so that i do not have to add each individual jar? I was thinking something along the lines of a variable or creating a user library.   • Why do we need Web-Api? [closed]

    I was just wondering what the deal is with Asp.net Web-Api. Why did we need a separate type of controller in order to facilitate varying content types for action results? Why wasn't this capability just baked into the ASP.Net MVC base controller? Anyway, I was just wondering if there was a compelling reason to use both types of controllers within the same project, assuming that the project was being freshly created, or if this project structure was due to an inherent technical limitation. Would it be possible to have ApiControllers fulfill the purpose of an MVC Controller in all cases by just serving HTML when that is the specified accept type? It just seems to me like a lot of unnecessary repetition to have to re-implement the same types of actions using both types of controllers if you want those actions to be available to your web application through the API and through the web interface.

I have a few questions. 1) would you recommend XML over JSON or Json over XML? a) is Json going to transfer and deserialize faster natively or is XML going to transfer and deserialize faster? 2) would Using LINQ hinder anyone connecting to my Service form PHP? 3) Would you recommend something different?

  • Eclipse debug - line: not available

    I can't seem to find anything on google telling me why this might be and what the resolution is. I'm Stepping through third party code (that I have the source for) and would really like to see the current line being executed... Looking at javac compile flags, I see the -g:none flag. If this flag is set, would this be enough to explain why I'm not able to see line numbers? If so, why would someone do this, are there performance implications? Do I need to recompile the jar myself to attach the missing debug info (if possible)? Thanks!

    I'm trying to create a button in the application from one activity to another. The document resource/values/strings.xml created for this ID: <string name="button1name"> CID </ string> But the document GurovPictures.java (this is my main activity) when I insert a line: Button but1 = (Button) findViewById (R.id.button1); This "button1" does not become blue like "editText1". Do you happen to know how to fix it? Just the internet no entries found.

    Hey everyone, I have a java project that I'm working on which was working until a few days ago. I'm not sure what I did to my Eclipse set-up to hose it but now I'm getting a java.lang.ClassNotFoundException when I try to run some code that accesses the google finance api. I've built a small test application that uses the google finance api on its own and that seems to work. So, I think this is a project specific problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.     TOTD #166 explained how to use MongoDB in your Java EE 6 applications. The code in that tip used the APIs exposed by the MongoDB Java driver and so requires you to learn a new API. However if you are building Java EE 6 applications then you are already familiar with Java Persistence API (JPA). Eclipse Link 2.4, scheduled to release as part of Eclipse Juno, provides support for NoSQL databases by mapping a JPA entity to a document. Their wiki provides complete explanation of how the mapping is done. This Tip Of The Day (TOTD) will show how you can leverage that support in your Java EE 6 applications deployed on GlassFish 3.1.2.   • Importing Data from Google Analytics

    I am planning on building a web app with many different public-facing HTTP servers; each of which will have Google Analytics (GA) installed on them. I'd like to create a "dashboard" app that consolidates the GA data into one screen. I've been perusing the documentation for this so-called GA API, but I can't tell what the end result of the GA API is: Does the GA API allow me to do exactly what I am looking for it to do? Or... Does the GA API do something entirely different (like allow me to share my data with Google+ or something else weird) Since an API can be used to CRUD any kind of data, I guess I'm asking which way the GA API goes: is it for querying (reading) data from 1+ server instances, or is it for modifying data on those servers or somewhere else?   • Eclipse says "Access Denied" when running javaw and how to fix it?

    I'm trying to get Eclipse to compile and run a HelloWorld class but it can't even do that. I have installed Eclipse x86 SDK 4.2.0 together bit with the latest JRE and JDK both in 64 bit as well. I also have the PATH variables set to respond to command prompts. When I try to run the following code: class HelloWorld { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("Hello World!" ) ; } } And it returns the following error: Exception occurred executing command line. Cannot run program "C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\javaw.exe" (in directory "C:\Users\Default\workspace\devs"): CreateProcess error=5, Access is denied. Can you help me fix this? Thanks!

  • Skype Raw API (NOT COM API) send message problem

    In converting this CONSOLE example to a full windows dialog implementation I have run into a very "simple problem". SendMessage() (line 283) is returning zero, GetLastError reveals 0x578 - Invalid window handle. http://read.pudn.com/downloads51/sourcecode/windows/multimedia/175678/msgapitest.cpp__.htm (https://developer.skype.com/Download/Sample...example_win.zip) C++ 2005 Studio express edition instructions http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=54549 The previous call using HWND_BROADCAST works and Skype replies as expected, so I know Skype is installed and working properly. The handle I use is the wParam value from the Skype Reply message, as in the code. This is non zero, but I am not sure if there is a way to test it other than with SendMessage. The compiled app from this C++ code example (see zip download) does actually work so I am stumped. I do encode the message with UTF8, and I create an instance of the COPYDATASTRUCT in my app, populate it then call SendMessage() with the COPYDATASTRUCT pointer in lparam. Skype does not respond nor does it obey. Am I missing something obvious here?
