• Have an Input/output error when connecting to a server via ssh

  Hello I seem to be having a problem while connecting to a Ubuntu Server while connecting via ssh. When I login, I get this error. Could not chdir to home directory /home/username: Input/output error It seems like my home folder is corrupt or something. I cannot ls in the home folder directory, and in my usename directory, I can't cd into this. As root I cannot ls in the home directory as well or in any directory in Home. I notice as well when I save in vim or quit, it get this error at the bottom of the page E138: Cannot write viminfo file /home/root/.viminfo! Any ideas? • Organizing code, logical layout of segmented files

  I have known enough about programming to get me in trouble for about 10 years now. I have no formal education, though I've read many books on the subject for various languages. The language I am primarily focused on now would be php, atleast for the scale of things I am doing now. I have used some OOP classes for a while, but never took the dive into understanding principals behind the scenes. I am still not at the level I would like to be expression-wise...however my recent reading into a book titled The OOP Thought Process has me wanting to advance my programming skills. With motivation from the new concepts, I have started with a new project that I've coded some re-usable classes that deal with user auth, user profiles, database interfacing, and some other stuff I use regularly on most projects. Now having split my typical garbled spaghetti bowl mess of code into somewhat organized files, I've come into some problems when it comes to making sure files are all included when they need to be, and how to logically divide the scripts up into classes, aswell as how segmented I should be making each class. I guess I have rambled on enough about much of nothing, but what I am really asking for is advise from people, or suggested reading that focuses not on specific functions and formats of code, but the logical layout of projects that are larger than just a hobby project. I want to learn how to do things proper, and while I am still learning in some areas, this is something that I have no clue about other than just being creative, and trial/error. Mostly error. Thanks for any replies. This place is great.

I'm developing a Java application, and one of the things it needs to do is encode a byte array of data into a QR Code and then decode it at a later time.   I'm trying to run a webapp/site on my machine, it's running on OSX 10.6.2 and I'm having some problems: Caught an exeption while rending: The _imagingft C module is not installed Doing import _imagingft in python gives me this: >>> import _imagingft Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> ImportError: dlopen(/Library/Python/2.6/site-packages/PIL/_imagingft.so, 2): Symbol not found: _FT_Done_Face Referenced from: /Library/Python/2.6/site-packages/PIL/_imagingft.so Expected in: flat namespace in /Library/Python/2.6/site-packages/PIL/_imagingft.so It's seems that the Freetype library is the one having problems. No errors so far when installing PIL or when I compiled(?) the jpeg and freetype libraries so far. I'm on django 1.1.1, python 2.6.2.

• Webservice Jira gives: Error: No such operation 'getIssuesFromJqlSearch' from Jira 4.01

  When I use the Webservice of Jira, I need to use the method getIssuesFromJqlSearch to describe a certain (JQL) Query. But it returns me "No such operation 'getIssuesFromJqlSearch'". Is this method in Jira 4.01 not implemented yet? BTW: I need a method to get all Issues from one specific project, without creating filters first. This was my first way to find a workaround, because there is no function getIssuesFromProject. If there is no way to fix the problem with the JQL method, I try to take RSS XML View with the URL jql statement like SearchRequest.xml?jqlQuery=project+%3D+Testproject&tempMax=1000. But this is not my favorite.

• build error, warning MSB3258

  I have recently moved my solution from my main dev machine using vs2010 pro sp1 to a new machine. The setup is supposed to be the same except its failing to build. Its giving errors like c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Microsoft.Common.targets(1360,9): warning MSB3258: The primary reference "C:\rep\hms\trunk\ikassystemv3\ikasDAL\bin\Debug\ikasDAL.dll" could not be resolved because it has an indirect dependency on the .NET Framework assembly "mscorlib, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089" which has a higher version "4.0.0.0" than the version "2.0.0.0" in the current target framework. However all all the libraries in question are set to use the .net 2 framework and I need it this way or else it will break stuff that uses them. However for some reason it seems to think that somehow my .net 2 system libs are somehow referencing .net 4 stuff. • Making ehcache read-write for test code and read-only for production code

  I would like to annotate many of my Hibernate entities that contain reference data and/or configuration data with @Cache(usage = CacheConcurrencyStrategy.READ_ONLY) However, my JUnit tests are setting up and tearing down some of this reference/configuration data using the Hibernate entities. Is there a recommended way of having entities be read-write during test setup and teardown but read-only for production code? Two of my immediate thoughts for non-ideal workarounds are: Using NONSTRICT_READ_WRITE, but I am not sure what the hidden downsides are. Creating subclassed entities in my test code to override the read-only cache annotation. Any recommendations on the cleanest way to handle this? (Note: Project uses maven.)

• Ruby BigDecimal Round: Is this an error?

  While writing a test with a value that gets represented as a BigDecimal, I ran into something weird and decided to dig into it. In brief, '0.00009' when rounded to two decimal places is returned as 0.01 instead of 0.00. Really.   Hi, I have to work on an application which used Subsonic 2.0.3. When I opened the project,I got a message The projectfile 'C:\Program Files\Subsonic\Subsonic 2.0.3\src\SubSonic\SubSonic.csproj' has been moved, renamed or is not on your computer. Does it mean I need to install Subsonic 2.0.3, I tried to find the same version but could not find it. Can I download the next version 'Setup-SubSonic-2.1' Does Subsonic 2.1 provide compatability with 2.0.3 ? Regards Sbmarya

• eclipse debugger: attaching source-code of maven managed libraries

  I'd like to use the source code of maven-managed dependencies when debugging our webapp in eclipse. I have managed to attach the sources to the libraries in the "Maven Managed Depedencies" classpath container, i.e. when I open a class file from a depedency (e.g. using Ctrl-Shift-T), I see the source code. However, when I launch the tomcat within eclipse, and execution halts on a breakpoint in that same class, the editor pane only displays the text "source not found", and a button to edit the "source lookup path". I have attempted to manually add the "Maven Managed Dependencies" classpath container, only to be told "Use maven project settings to configure depedency resolution". However, I see no useful setting in that property pane ... How can I attach those sources?

• Android setImageURI out of memory error

  I have a very small activity that must show an image. If picture is not very small (for example 1.12 Mb 2560x1920) it produces out of memory on change screen orientation. I tried getDrawable.setCallback(null) but no luck. • Including one Xcode project in another -- linker errors

  I am trying to do this, and running into problems. The parent project needs to access the class SettingsViewController from the child project. I have put the child project path into my header search paths. • Excel parsing (xls) date error

  I'm working on a project where I have to parse excel files for a client to extract data. An odd thing is popping up here: when I parse a date in the format of 5/9 (may 9th) in the excel sheet, I get 39577 in my program. I'm not sure if the year is encoded here (it is 2008 for these sheets). Are these dates the number of days since some sort of epoch? Does anyone know how to convert these numbers to something meaningful? I'm not looking for a solution that would convert these properly at time of parsing from the excel file (we already have thousands of extracted files that required a human to select relevant information - re-doing the extraction is not an option).
