  • nginx inserting extra characters in Multi-status reply body

    Here's the setup. I've got one server running apache/php hosting ownCloud. Among other things, I'm using to do CardDAV contact syncing. In order to make things work with my domain I have an nginx server running on the frontend as a reverse-proxy to the ownCloud server. My nginx config is as follows: server { listen 80; server_name cloud.mydomain.com; location / { proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-Host cloud.mydomain.com; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-Proto http; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $remote_addr; client_max_body_size 0; proxy_redirect off; proxy_pass http://server; } } The problem is that when my phone does a PROPFIND on the server, nginx adds extra characters to the content body that throw the phone off. Specifically, it prepends d611\r\n at the front of the body and appends 0\r\n\r\n to the end of the content. (I got this from wireshark.) It also re-chunks the result. How do I get nginx to send the original content as-is?

    Hello all, I have a RHEL3 server with sendmail configured to relay mail to: # "Smart" relay host (may be null) DSmailrelay This relay server is an exchange server not administered by me. A few days ago its IP address was changed without my knowledge so I've updated the correct ip in /etc/hosts for the mail relay entry. The administrator of this machine has put it back to me saying he sees no problems, and I just want to cover everything before passing it back to him. Is there any other tests/logs/reasons for sendmail to only report it as "stat=queued" ? I've looked in previous logs and the relay is set to root@localhost in those but none were ever set to queued.     I'm using nginx + passenger. I'm trying to understand the nginx response 200 and 304. What does this both means? Sometimes, it responses back in 304 and others only 200. Reading the YUI blog, it seems browser needs the header "Last-Modified" to verify with the server. I'm wondering why the browser need to verify the last modified date.   • System Centre Essentials 2007 Clients Losing Status

    Clients that have been reporting their state fine suddenly start reporting "Windows 0.0" for their OS and "Not yet contacted" for their Last Contacted date even though previously these values were present and correct. Any idea why this might be happening? I've spend a long time playing with wsauclt etc and just when I think I've the problem it comes back again! Thanks.

  • Interface to collect successful remote backups status

    I would like to deploy into our infrastructure a web interface that could register when the copies are finished and if for some reason they haven't. The current issue is that we are doing on site backups for customers, for each backup a mail is sent ad the end of the backup, the problems is that sometimes the mail isn't sent for a variety of reasons: System doesn't have internet Backup system crashed before sending the mail etc.. What I'd like to do is to have a web interface that the backup software cant visit after doing the backup (either if it's a success or a fail), that acknowledges that the backup has finished, after some time, I'd like to receive a report of the machines that hadn't done the backup. Is there anything remotely similar to this that I could use/adapt to our environment? UPDATE: Just found out this (paessler.com) that seems to be a privative solution of what I intended.

  • Get WebDav uploading progress and status (Linux, davfs2)

    I am using WebDAV on Linux box with davfs2 1.4.6. When I copy a file to a mounted WebDAV service, it is goes rather fast, just like a regular local drive operation. And it actually is, because the file is first copied to ~/.davf2/cache directory. But how do I know that uploading is finished and where do I see current progress? Is there a way to know that uploading failed due to lack of space or file size restrictions?

  • Delivery Status Notification (Relay) in Exchange Server 2007 with original email attachment

    I have recently setup Exhchange Server 2007. The server is smarthosting outgoing messages. Users have 'request delivery receipt' on by default their 'auditing' purposes in Outlook. They would like the original email attached to the delivery notification as was the case in Exchange Server 2003. I need this same functionality in 2007. The question has been asked here, here and here but cannot find a valid solution. Here's some information about the functionality in Exchange 2003. The question is, can i replication this functionality in 2007? Here is what a 2007 delivery message looks like: I know it's possible to customize DSN's. Can I make a custom DSN for this type of message and have the original included as an attachment? Anyone got any other ideas?

  • Detection of battery status totally messed up

    I already posted this question in the Ubuntu forum and stackOverflow. I forward it here with the hope to find some different opinions about the problem. I have an Acer TravelMate 5730, which is 3 y.o., running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. One year ago I changed the battery because the old one died. Since then, everything worked like a charm. A week ago I was using my laptop running on battery; it was charged up to 60%. Suddenly it shut down and for about 24h it was like the battery was totally broken: it didn't charge anymore and the 'upower --dump' said state: critical. I was kind of resigned to buy a new battery, when suddenly the orange light became green: battery was charged and actually working; strangely the battery indicator was stuck to 100%, even after 2 hours running. I tried again with 'upower --dump' or 'acpi -b' commands and it kept saying battery is discharging, though maintaining the percentage to 100%. Thus, battery working fine up to 3 hours, without any warning when it was almost empty, likely to result in a brute shut down. Today something different. the 'upower --dump' command says: ... present: yes rechargeable: yes state: fully-charged energy: 0 Wh energy-empty: 0 Wh energy-full: 65.12 Wh energy-full-design: 65.12 Wh energy-rate: 0 W voltage: 14.481 V percentage: 0% capacity: 100% technology: lithium-ion I tried to boot WinXP and the problem is pretty much the same, with the battery fully-charged, percentage equal to 0% and no way to fix it. While writing, the situation has changed again: present: yes rechargeable: yes state: charging energy: 0 Wh energy-empty: 0 Wh energy-full: 65.12 Wh energy-full-design: 65.12 Wh energy-rate: 0 W voltage: 14.474 V percentage: 0% capacity: 100% technology: lithium-ion ...charging, but it does not charge up. (Recall, the battery lasted 3 hours until yesterday!). So, the big question is: is it an hardware issue, like a dedicated internal circuit is broken? or maybe it is just the battery that must be changed. Or, rather, some BIOS problem that could be fixed in some way. I'd appreciate every help that can shed some light on this annoying problem thanks

  • .gitconfig error

    I edited my .gitconfig file to add support for LabView and it appears that I did something that Git doesn't exactly like. The problem is it (Git) doesn't tell me what it doesn't like. What did I do wrong?   • How significant is the bazaar performance factor?

    I hear all this stuff about bazaar being slower than git. I haven't used too much distributed version control yet, but in Bazaar vs. Git on the bazaar site, they say that most complaints about performance aren't true anymore. Have you found this to be true? Is performance pretty much on par now? I've heard that speed can affect workflow (people are more likely to do good thing X if X is fast). What specific cases does performance currently affect workflow in bazaar vs other systems (especially git), and how? I'm just trying to get at why performance is of particular importance. Usually when I check something in or update it, I expect it to take a little while, but it doesn't matter. I commit/update when I have a second, so it doesn't interfere with my productivity. But then I haven't used DVCS yet, so maybe that has something to do with it?

  • How can I set a local branch to pull / merge from a particular remote branch?

    I have a local branch foo that started life as a branch off of master. Then I pushed it to my remote, and it's now happily living life with its siblings in remotes/origin I want pull to automatically pull from remotes/origin/foo, and I want status -sb to show me how many changes I am ahead of remotes/origin/foo. I thought the way to do this was git config branch.foo.merge 'refs/heads/foo' However, after doing that, I get this message: ? git status -sb ## foo ? git pull Your configuration specifies to merge with the ref 'foo' from the remote, but no such ref was fetched. What am I doing wrong?

    I know running git-diff and other tools can identify the changes in the repository, but when I do a partial commit, I need to pass only the committed files (rather than the entire set of files that are touched) to the pre-commit hook. For example, I modified three files and commit only two, and I want the pre-commit hook to know the name of the two files. git status --porcelain M A.c M B.c M C.h then I execute: git commit -m "two files only" A.c B.c How can the pre-commit hook get hold of the list of the two files only?

  • Msysgit bash is horrendously slow in Windows 7

    I love git and use it on OSX pretty much constantly at home. At work, we use svn on Windows, but want to migrate to git as soon as the tools have fully matured (not just TortoiseGit, but also something akin the really nice Visual Studio integration provided by VisualSVN). But I digress... I recently installed msysgit on my Windows 7 machine, and when using the included version of bash, it is horrendously slow. And not just the git operations; clear takes about five seconds. AAAAH! Has anyone experienced a similar issue?

Considering a 10 person team who use Visual SourceSafe, programming in Coldfusion, Powerbuilder, PHP and a bit of .NET, I found, to my surprise, that the Git 'server' tooling is still fairly rudimentary. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1761054/git-in-a-company-hosting-own-server Question Apart from SVN, what other source control options would be a logical next step after VSS?     I'm interested in trying out distributed version control systems. git sounds promising, but I saw a note somewhere for the Windows port of git that says "don't use non-ASCII filenames". I can't find that now, but there is this link. It's put me off git for now, but I don't know if the other options are any better. Support for non-ASCII filenames is essential for my Japanese company. I'm looking for one that internally stores filenames as Unicode, not a platform-dependent encoding which would cause endless grief. So: What DVCS support Unicode filenames? In both Windows and Linux? Ideally, with the possibility to transfer repositories between Windows and Linux machines with minimal issues?

I'm intending to use Git for CVS, and I'm interested to see what guidelines or standards people are using around CVS in their groups, similar to coding standards are often written within the group for the group. I'm assuming there will be things like; Commit often (at least every day/week/meeting etc) Release builds are always made from the master branch Prior to release, a new branch will be created for Testing and tagged as such. only bug fixes from this point onwards. The final release of this will be tagged as such and the bug fixes merged back into the trunk Each developer will have a public repo New features should get their own branch Obviously a lot of this will depend on what cvs you're using and how you've structured it.   • How to load / open / suck an repository from GitHub into GitX?

    I downloaded Git and GitX for mac and installed it. Now, just for fun, I want to know how I could obtain an repository from GitHub like http://github.com/zoul/Finch.git ?? For me all this Git stuff looks like I have a client and connect to a server in order to get some data from some repository. Like FTP, well not really. But similar. Just one problem: Where to enter that URL? Is there some field for that? Some hidden command? I did manage to create a new project / repository on my mac, but now I have an empty window and no option to suck down that code from GitHub.

  • When will `git pull --rebase` get me in to trouble?

    I understand that when I use git pull --rebase, git will re-write history and move my local commits to occur after all of the commits in the branch I just pulled from. What I don't understand is how this would ever be a bad thing. People talk about getting in to trouble with git pull --rebase where you can end up with a branch that other people can't pull from. But I don't get how that's possible since all you're doing is replaying your local, not-yet-public, commits on top of the branch you pulled from. So, what's the problem there?

Or making it transited smoothly. Now, presenting UIImagePickerController changes status-bar style instantly, even -[presentModalViewController:picker animated:YES] specified. Any method, welcome, including hacking or private method. This is an app for AppStore, however I want to even try.
