  • How do I stop myself from redesigning my Silverlight screens? Is there a theme that looks like Sket

    Whilst working in Silverlight I am always fighting the urge to work on the screen design rather than coding the behaviour (which is what I should be doing). My cunning plan is to find a theme that looks something like MS SketchFlow or Balsamiq which will remind me of the draft nature of the screens whilst being somewhat prettier than the default look & feel of Silverlight. Does anyone know of such a theme? Alternatively can anyone give advise on how they overcame there design addiction :) Thanks, Dan

    Simple question, I think. I have org.springframework.scheduling.quartz.CronTriggerBean triggering one job once a day. Because this method can last a long time (over 24 hours), will the next day at the same time a new job be executed if the last one is not ended yet? If yes - is it possible to turn off executing new jobs until the last one is finished? My method is trans-coding videos and some days there a lot of videos and could last long.

    I've setup some background colors for my Labels in order to position them. Now that they are well in place, I vould like to reset their background color to none, or clearColor.     When looking to get data from a web page whats the recommended method if the page does not provide a structured data feed? Am I right in thinking that its just a case of doing an NSURLRequest and then hacking what you need out of the responseData(NSData*)?     So there's plenty of vs.settings files for nice dark syntax highlighting in VS2008, but I find them basically unusable since they're surrounded by an otherwise white visual studio application and general windows environment. I'd like an adequate dark windows 7 theme I can use while coding in VS. All of the 3rd party Win7 themes (that utilize the patched system files) I've come across have had fairly major problems and were unusable for one reason or another. Does anyone out there have a dark theme + VS combination they're actually happy with?

I would like the user to be able to connect to a user-specified SQL server from the login screen(he specifies IP address, port, database name, ID, password and presses "connect" button). However, I found out that the Dataset connection string property is read only and cannot be changed. Is there any way to guide the wizard-generated DataSet to a user-specified server at run time?

  • Testing your code before releasing to QA

    I have heard developers say that people who write code should not be the ones testing it. I am looking for peoples experience in this situation. Many times I have done my share of development, then released to the QA dept and had the code sent back to me becuase some aspect of the application was broken due to my coding, regardless of how much I had tested it prior to QA release. Does anyone on this board have a process to follow, that enables them to throughly test their code before releasing to QA?
