    For my year-end pet project, I'd like to analyze investment advices and their correlation to the stock market performance. The problem is, where do I get the dump of investment advice data (free) ? something like stackoverflow.com data dump will be nice. Or maybe it's easier to do distributed crawling and crawl the public finance webpages for investment advices? Investment advice is buy/sell advice for stocks/forex, issued by institution/investment advisor.

    I'm doing an IE automation using WatiN. When a file to be downloaded is clicked, I get the following in the Internet Explorer Information bar: To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has blocked this site from downloading files to you computer. I added a registry key to, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains\ then a REG_DWORD value named "http" with value==2 as given in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/972345/programmatically-add-trusted-sites-to-internet-explorer but still facing same issues. Can some1 advice on this....

    Hello stackoverflow community, I'm looking for a hint how to make tomcat CI ready or an servlet container / application container which stand often redeploys like they happen when using hudson ci. I experienced that Tomcat 6 does not properly undeploy webapps, leaving classes in jvm. For example I monitored tomcat 6 with VisualVM: on start 2000 classes, on deploy of an app 3000 after redeploy 4000 and redeploy 5000 classes and so on - leading to crashes, memory leaks... But Liferay is still checking whether the same user email id is configured in the liferay db or not. If its not, it is saying that authetication failed.   • How can I draw a shadow beyond a UIView's bounds?

    I'm using the method described at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/805872/how-do-i-draw-a-shadow-under-a-uiview to draw shadow behind a view's content. The shadow is clipped to the view's bounds, although I disabled "Clip Subviews" in Interface Builder for the view. Is it possible to draw a shadow around a view and not only in a view? I don't want to draw the shadow inside the view because the view would receive touch events for the shadow area, which really belongs to the background.

  • Java API to create pdf with tables: any recommendations?

    I need to create a PDF containing some tables. When looking on google/stackoverflow the most frequent API seems to be iText but that's under the AGPL licence and thus not desirable for my purposes. I also frequently see apache pdfbox but that does not seem to have native support for tables (although a slightly hacky way was posted at Apache PDFBox Java library - Is there an API for creating tables? ) Does anyone have any recommendations?

    I'm looking for a way to make log4net support zeroconf to publish logs to Apache Chainsaw (see here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2843238/does-log4net-support-zeroconf). Apparently log4j can already do this using a ZeroConfSocketHubAppender. Where might I be able to view the source for the java ZeroConfSocketHubAppender? I've looked both in the Apache Chainsaw and in the Log4j repositories but was unsuccessful.
