    Hi, i have a UIImageView of 1024x768 (the room of my game) and other various UIIMageView on it (the object of my game). The iPhone screen is smaller than the room (UIImageView 1024x768) .. i want to understand if the iPhone's system automatically intercepts the graphic elements outside the visible area of Room (the player's view) and unload temporarily (for memory optimization) or i must do this by hand?? thanks

    I am just following the tutorial about NerdDinner and was stuck because when I am implementing the "Index" View Template I got no data from it.     Hi, I have an ASP.Net site, in which I am using a ListView with a Datapager. Apparently there is a bug with the Datapager, where it crashes if there is an empty ampersand (&) in the querystring. This is a known issue: https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=357344&wa=wsignin1.0#tabs I see that there is a workaround given, but did not understand how to implement it. Can somebody point me in the right direction? Also, I see that this issue is marked as resolved. Any idea where I can find the updated version of this control? Wild Thing

When I try to delete a User who has an address I have to use orphanremoval=true on the corresponding relation (see above) and the preRemove function where the address List is set to null. When i try to delete a user who has an vehicle a concurrent Acces Exception is thrown when do not uncomment the "this.owner.removeVehicle(this);" in the preRemove Function of the vehicle. The thing i do not understand is that before i used this inheritance there was only a User class which had all relations: @Entity @Table(name = "Users") public class User implements Serializable { @Id protected String username; @OneToMany(mappedBy = "owner", cascade = {CascadeType.PERSIST, CascadeType.REMOVE}) private List<Vehicle> vehicles; @OneToMany(cascade = CascadeType.ALL) @JoinTable(name = "USER_ADDRESS", joinColumns = @JoinColumn(name = "USERNAME") inverseJoinColumns = @JoinColumn(name = "ADDRESS_ID")) ptivate List<Address> addresses; ... No orphanremoval, and the vehicle class has used the uncommented statement above in its preRemove function. And - I could delte a user who has an address and i could delte a user who has a vehicle. So why doesn't everything work without changes when i use inheritance? I use JPA 2.0, EclipseLink 2.0.2, MySQL 5.1.x and Netbeans 6.8

    I have a person object, which can have unlimited number of first names. So the first names are another object. ie person --- name             --- name             --- name What I want to do is write an nhiberate query using which will get me a person who has certain names. so one query might be find someone whose names are alison and jane and philippa, then next query may be one to find someone whose names are alison and jane. I only want to return people who have all the names I'm search on.   • linux raw socket programming question

    Hi all, I am trying to create a raw socket which send and receive message with ip/tcp header under linux. I can successfully binds to a port and receive tcp message(ie:syn) However, the message seems to be handled by the os, but not mine. I am just a reader of it(like wireshark). My raw socket binds to port 8888, and then i try to telnet to that port . In wireshark, it shows that the port 8888 reply a "rst ack" when it receive the "syn" request. In my program, it shows that it receive a new message and it doesnot reply with any message.     In order to get my EF4 EntityCollection to bind with check box values, I have to manually create the check boxes in a loop like so: <p> <%: Html.Label("Platforms") %><br /> <% for(var i = 0; i < Model.AllPlatforms.Count; ++i) { %> <%: Model.AllPlatforms[i].Platform.Name %> <input type="checkbox" name="PlatformIDs" value="<%: Model.AllPlatforms[i].Platform.PlatformID %>" /><br /> <% } %> </p> It works, but it doesn't automatically populate the group of check boxes with existing values when I'm editing a model entity.     Hi guys! I am somewhat mystified by concat and joins in MySQL 4. Here's where I am having an issue. I have two tables... person id, fname, lname, city, state, zip capital state, city I am needing to generate all states and the number of persons (from the person table) from each. Something like ....   • Code igniter authentication code in controller security question

    I have a main controller to handle the very front-end of my authentication system, it handles login, logout, update user info, etc. functions that I anticipate calling by POST'ing from views/forms. What about something like a "delete_user" function though? My thoughts are a button in someones admin panel would say "Delete Account" and it would post to "/auth/delete", and the function would delete the user based on their session username or id. This seems a bit open ended, you could send out a link to someone and when they opened it while in that application it would delete their account.. Whats the best way to handle this?

  • Question about how to implement a c# host application with a plugin-like architecture

    I want to have an application that works as a Host to many other small applications. Each one of those applications should work as kind of plugin to this main application. I call them plugins not in the sense they add something to the main application, but because they can only work with this Host application as they depend on some of its services. My idea was to have each of those plugins run in a different app domain. The problem seems to be that my host application should have a set of services that my plugins will want to use and from what is my understanding making data flow in and out from different app domains is not that great of a thing. On one hand I'd like them to behave as stand-alone applications(although, as I said, they need to use lots of times the host application services), but on the other hand I'd like that if any of them crashes, my main application wouldn't suffer from it. What is the best (.NET) approach to this kind of situation? Make them all run on the same AppDomain but each one in a different Thread? Use different AppDomains? One for each "plugin"? How would I make them communicate with the Host Application? Any other way of doing this? Although speed is not an issue here, I wouldn't like for function calls to be that much slower than they are when we're working with just a regular .NET application. Thanks

    In Effective Java, the author states that: If a class implements Cloneable, Object's clone method returns a field-by-field copy of the object; otherwise it throws CloneNotSupportedException. What I'd like to know is what he means with field-by-field copy. Does it mean that if the class has X bytes in memory, it will just copy that piece of memory? If yes, then can I assume all value types of the original class will be copied to the new object? class Point { private int x; private int y; @Override public Point clone() { return (Point)super.clone(); } } If what Object.clone() does is a field by field copy of the Point class, I'd say that I wouldn't need to explicitly copy fields x and y, being that the code shown above will be more than enough to make a clone of the Point class. That is, the following bit of code is redundant: @Override public Point clone() { Point newObj = (Point)super.clone(); newObj.x = this.x; //redundant newObj.y = this.y; //redundant } Am I right? I know references of the cloned object will point automatically to where the original object's references pointed to, I'm just not sure what happens specifically with value types. If anyone could state clearly what Object.clone()'s algorithm specification is (in easy language) that'd be great. Thanks

    I've made a web application that has the following architecture: Every form is a UserControl, there is just one actual page (Default.aspx), and a parameter in the URL specifies which UserControl to load. The UserControl is loaded in an UpdatePanel so that it can enjoy full AJAX-iness. There is also an elaborate message displaying mechanism that I use. Eventually messages end up in one designated area on top of the Default.ASPX with some nice formatting 'n stuff. Now, I would also like to capture any unhandled exceptions that originate in the UserControl and display it in this area with all the bells-and-whistles that I've made for messages. How can I do this? The Page.Error and ScriptManager.AsyncPostBackError somehow don't work for me...

  • jquery simplemodal question (about window overflow)

    I noticed that if the height of the window is too small (meaning that the modal is taller than the window is), then even scrolling up or down won't reveal more of the modal, since it is constantly centering itself to the center of the window. Is there a good way of changing this? I have a tall modal that if someone's using a short monitor it may cause problems. Not to mention just general usability. I would guess that somewhere in the code you can test for if the window height is less than the modal to not worry about centering it vertically? Ideas?
