My host is running Win 7 ultimate 64bit, ESET NOD32 AV 4.0 (64 bit). • Ho to log on MySQL on CentOS 6.3 using root account from the domain and not localhost?

    - by Ziouas
I don't know if I'll make the issue clear, but I've installed MySQL on CentOS 6.3 using root account on a specific domain (f.ex. root@mydomain), but when i try to log on to it I'm being asked for password to root@localhost account, which I do not have access to. How can I log on to MySQL installed on 'mydomain' and not to 'localhost'? I've tried editing my.cnf using bind-address='domain_ip', but it didn't help, it still wanted localhost password.

  • VMware vCenter Server Standard and Foundation Editions

    - by ToreTrygg
Wondering whether anyone could advise as to the differences between these two products, from my understanding the difference is the latter allows control of more than 3 hosts. What I really wanted to know was, the (cool) features like chargeback and extended Application monitoring are they included in both versions or am I missing something....

  • Alternative to arrow keys in Google Chrome location bar

    - by saltycrane
I like Google Chrome because it is fast but I don't like using the arrow keys in the location bar to complete URLs. Is there any extension, or setting I'm missing, that allows me to use the Tab key (or other customizable key) for completion like in Firefox? I am an Emacs user and am aware of Conkeror. I just wanted to give Google Chrome a fair chance. Edit: I'm using version 4.0.266.0 on Linux.

  • How to set PATH variable on Mac OS so that even non-terminal apps see it?

    - by dehmann
I need to add a directory to my PATH variable on Mac OS. I added it in .bash_profile and .profile, and that works for the terminal. But Emacs (http://emacsformacosx.com) still does not use the new PATH variable. (I'm trying to run latex from emacs, but it's not finding the command in my /usr/local/bin, which I'm trying to add to the PATH ...) I even logged out and back in, but still no luck. Any suggestions?

  • Sending output to both bluetooth headset and normal speakers - Windows 7

    - by Christian Mann
Hey, I have a bluetooth "headset" (it's more like a speaker with a microphone on it, but it registers as a headset) and I want to play music through it. I also want to play the same music through the "normal" speakers on the laptop. Is this possible? If so, is it possible to play two different streams on each speaker? Say if I wanted to DJ a party or something, I'd want to hear the upcoming song and mix it before sending it live.

  • Cloud Providers that support FreeBSD?

    - by Jed Daniels
I'm looking for recommendations from the wise and all-knowing Server Fault community on cloud hosting providers that support running FreeBSD. Ideally ones that don't require special tweaks to the FreeBSD system, but any recommendations would be appreciated. Suggestions? Recommendations? Advice? Tips? War stories? Thanks in advance.
