  • Visual Studio 2005 doesn't support Sql Server 2008

    I'm developing Reporting services on VS2005 and have to connect to SQL Server 2008. The following Error occurs: "This server version is not supported. You must have Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Beta 2 or later." I found on the net a patch for it, but it doesn't work (link to patch) "The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer Service because the program to be upgraded is missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program." what else can I do ? :(

  • Why do multiline cells in my CSV file appear with a question mark at the end of each line in Excel?

    I'm currently working on a project where we'd like to allow a user to export their data to CSV. Some of the data we present has multiple values for a single cell, and so we use the standard CSV method of putting each value on its own line: Column A, Column B, Column C Value A, "Value B1 Value B2", Value C Most of the time this works fine, but some people are reporting seeing a small question mark in a box character appear at the end of each line when they load the file in Excel. Why is this happening?

    To illustrate: class Customer has_many :sales_orders end class SalesOrder belongs_to :customer end i want to have customer to list sales_order which is ready to be sent, should i: put the routing http://.../sales_orders/can_be_delivered or create a new controller for reporting http://.../reports/sales_orders_can_be_delivered for the 1st one, what should goes in the route.rb? for the 2nd one, nothing goes in route.rb, we can use the last defined route which is :controller/:action.. <-- but this isn't named route any ideas for this kind of problem?

    Hi, I have Start Date and End date parameters that work fine as filters on a query, as follows: [EMR Reporting].[Appointments].[Appointment Date] between ?Start Date? and ?End Date? But when I attempt to apply conditional styles to a field based on ?Start Date?, the report blows up. Should I be able to use parameter values in conditional style expressions, or is this not supported for some reason? Thanks!

I know R is great with Time Series, but I am not sure where to start. I have two questions: 1- I have the raw invoice data but have aggregated it for reporting purposes. Would it be easier if I didn't aggregate the data? 2- Regardless of aggregation or not, what functions will I need to loop over each product and generate the lags as I need them? In short, I want to loop over a set of records, calculate lags for a product (if possible), append the lags (as they apply) to the current record for each product, and write the results back to a table in my database for my reporting software to use. I read that compression algorithms do something similar to what I want - creating dictionaries of blocks of text with a piece of information reporting its frequency.
