    What way it is to be to get two GET methods in the URL by htaccess? RewriteRule ^adm/(.*)$ adm.php?mode=$1 I've used that for the example URL: http://www.domain.com/adm/thismode Now I want to get two methods like: http://www.domain.com/adm/thismode/othermode I've tried this: RewriteRule ^adm/(.*)$/(.*)$ adm.php?mode=$1&othermode=$2 But doesn't seem to work... how do I get it to do that?   • Rearranging parts of the URL result from link_to in Rails

    This is how I'm doing it now: link_to "Profile", :controller => "profiles", :action => "asked", :id => @profile # => <a href="/profiles/asked/1">Profile</a> Does it make more sense for the URL to be <a href="/profiles/1/asked">Profile</a>? Profile 1 asked some number of questions, so it makes more sense to me for the URL to look like: /:controller/:id/:action. If you agree, how do I accomplish this? If you don't agree, please let me know why. (I'm new to Ruby on Rails, so I'm still getting used to MVC conventions.) Any advice would be great!

    Hi, In one of my applications on Ruby on Rails, I am using acts_as_taggable plugin. Coding was doing fine and suddenly it started giving following error.     I developed the site, and I removed the url from google webmaster tool which was like "http://example.com\". I did this because google show this in search with underconstruction Title, which was my previous page. When i completed the website, i removed the url from there, and added sitemap etc to have new copy of site. Now i see in webmaster tools, that all pages are indexed, but still no success. Yahoo and Bing are showing my page when searched. Help me to fix this problem. Regards, vicky

  • Using NSThread to solve waiting for image from URL on the iPhone

    So I have the following code in a method which I want to set a UIImageView image to that of one from an online source: [NSThread detachNewThreadSelector:@selector(loadImage) toTarget:self withObject:nil]; Then in the method called by the thread I have this: - (void) loadImage { NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:logoPath]; // logoPath is an NSString with path details NSData *data = [NSData dataWithContentsOfURL:url]; logoImage.image = [UIImage imageWithData:data]; } This works great however I get many warnings within the Debugger Console along the lines of: 2010-05-10 14:30:14.052 ProjectTitle[2930:633f] * _NSAutoreleaseNoPool(): Object 0x169d30 of class NSHTTPURLResponse autoreleased with no pool in place - just leaking This occurs many times each time I call the new thread and then eventually, under no pattern, after calling a few of these threads I get the classic 'EXC_BAD_ACCESS' run-time error. I understand that this is happening because I'm not retaining the object but how can I solve this with the code in 'loadImage' shown above? Thanks

    hello there. building a site which has content for each section. urls range from; /work/ /work/print/ /work/print/folders etc. however, at any point a user can click on an article so; /work/article/1066 /work/print/article/1066 /work/print/folders/article/1066 using .htaccess i need to detect when there is 'article' in the url and set some different variables. RewriteRule ^([a-zA-Z0-9\-]+)/([a-zA-Z0-9\-]+)/([a-zA-Z0-9\-]+)/([a-zA-Z0-9\-]+)/$ sets index.php?level1=$1&level2=$2&level3=$3&level4=$4 but if 'article/([0-9-]+)' is in the url, say /work/print/article/1066 return index.php?level1=$1&level2=$2&articleID=1066 basically the amount of levels will always be different but i'd like to return those as needed. another example would /work/print/folder/archive/article/1066 return index.php?level1=$1&level2=$2&level3=$3&level4=$4&articleID=1066 any help appreciated!     Hi, I've got some code that does an ajax request using jQuery, and handles success and error conditions. On an error, I want to find out what the URL I called was, so I can log it. This information appears to be contained in the XMLHttpRequest.channel, but firefox is complaining about accessing this - Permission denied for <http://localhost:8081> to get property XMLHttpRequest.channel Any ideas how I can determine the URL associated with an XMLHttpRequest?     Hi :) I want to give users of my site the ability to upload their software/hardware configuration automatically on Windows. So I'm thinking of having an EXE file download, and somehow put in that EXE a unique URL for each user. When the data is collected, the program would just posts some JSON to that URL. How can I do it? I'm most familiar with .NET platform. Tools like this do exist, for example Blizzard uses this approach for their beta test enroll. Each user downloads a slightly different EXE. TIA

    Hi, I have made a facebook application for generating access_token. It's working fine except one problem with it's redirect url. Have set redirect Url : www.mysite.com/myfolder/ in my FB application. So it will work for all folders/files inside www.mysite.com/myfolder/ but I am having problem I want to use these urls for redirect: http://www.mysite.com/myfolder/index.php?mod=config&do=useradd http://www.mysite.com/myfolder/index.php?mod=config&do=useredit and it always redirecting me on: http://www.mysite.com/myfolder/index.php?mod=config which is wrong . Please help to resolve this issue.

    I have a Restlet API and the methods exposed on it are called by a PHP web app. This web app is accessible by several domain names and depending on the domain certain aspects of the app are changed (look and feel, content etc). Is there a way for Restlet to determine the URL of the calling web app? I have used getReference() but all I can get is the (internal) IP address of the calling web server (not the domain name). My only other alternative is to pass the URL of the web app with every request to the API but it would be cleaner if Restlet already knew. Thanks

    I have a spring web application that is required to work as following the application will be accessed from two different URLs www.domain1.com and www.domain2.com and it is required that the two URLs looks like two different applications with different CSS and I18n. for the css part is done but I am stuck with the i18n part How to make spring load different i18n properties file according to the domain name? The solution that I thought in is to implement a filter that check the request URL and according to the URL it clears the message source bean and load the required i18n file but it does not looks good for the performance by the way I am using ReloadableResourceBundleMessageSource message source Another solution is to implement two different message sources. The problem with this solution is that from the source code I can manage the bean that I use but how can I tell the fmt:message tag which data source to use ? Thanks in advance and best regards

    Hi folks I am a complete novice to Flash (never created anything in flash). I am quite familiar with web applications (J2EE based) and have a reasonable expertise in Javascript. Here is my requirement. I want the user to select (via an html form) an image. Normally in the post, this image would be sent to server and may be stored there to be served later. I do not want that. I want to store this image locally and then serve it via HTTP to the user. So, the flow is: 1. Go to the "select image url":mywebsite.com/selectImage Browse the image and select the image This would transfer control locally to some code running on the client (Javascript or flash), which would then store the image locally at some place on the client machine. Go to the "show image url": mywebsite.com/showImage This would eventually result in some client code running on the browser that retrieves the image and renders it (without any server round trips.) I considered the following options: Use HTML5 local storage. Since I am a complete novice to flash, I looked into this. I found that it is fairly straightforward to store and retrieve images in javascript (only strings are allowed but I am hoping storing base64 encoded strings would work at least for small images). However, how do I serve the image via http url that points to my server without a server round trip? I saw the interesting article at http://hacks.mozilla.org/category/fileapi/ but that would work only in firefox and I need to work on all latest browsers (at least the ones supporting HTML5 local storage) Use flash SharedObjects. OK, this would have been good - the only thing is I am not sure where to start. Snippets of actionscripts to do this are scattered everywhere but I do not know how to use those scripts in an actual html page:) I do not need to create any movies or anything - just need to store an image and serve it locally. If I go this route, I would also use it to store other "strings" locally. If you suggest this, please give me the exact steps (could be pointers to other web sites) on how to do this. I would like to avoid paying for any flash development environment software ideally:) Thank you!

    I have a page with a ASP.NET DropDownBox control (HTML select) that's populated with some dynamic record values. When the user selects a record the entire contents of the page is updated to reflect the selection. If a user clicks a link and leaves the page and tries to go back, it pulls up the default unselected list, and they have to reselect it again. How would be the best way to retain their selection? I currently have the page set so if the url contains PageName.aspx?recordID=5 it will select the correct dropDown option. However I'm not sure how to change the URL's query string based on the selection.

    I would like to add an additional parameter in my url, the use case is the following: When user do their login they also specify a 'company' name and from that moment on, all urls should map to: /$company/$controller/$action/$id The main idea is to have the current company name available in all url's, have it bookmarkable, and not to have to pass the company name everywhere as a request parameter. Also, once users are logged in it is acceptable to have the chosen company name in session scope. What is the right way of inserting this parameter in all our urls?
