    Im trying to move my exchange mailbox store to a new partition and i keep running into an error message saying: "cannot copy insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service." The server is a Dell Poweredge 2850 with Dual Xeon Processors @ 3.00GHz and 4GB of ram. Running Win Server 2K3 R2 SP2 with Exchange 2K3 Standard. The Store is around 55GB any ideas. I want to get exchange on its on partition since I need to free up some space on the partition its currently on.

  • Copy a single file from main directory recursively across all directories within

    I'm on a dedicated server using CentOS, and on this server I have 5000+ directories in one main directory. In the main directory I have an index.php. I would like to copy this index.php into all 5000+ directories, but the only way I know how is doing it manually. Is there a way through the command line that I can enter something like cp and make it work from the directory? I'd copy it all the way down through all the directories and there sub directories within this main directory I am starting out in.

    I have project hosted with gitolite on my own server, and I would like to deploy the whole project from gitolite bare repository to apache accessible place, by post-receive hook. The git source path is /var/lib/gitolite/project.git/, which is owned by gitolite:gitolite And with this permissions redmine (been working under www-data user) can't achieve git repository to fetch all changes The whole project should be placed here: /var/www_virt.hosting/domain_name/htdocs/, which is owned by www-data:www-data. What changes I should do, to work properly post-receive hook in git, and redmine with repository ? what I did, is: # id www-data uid=33(www-data) gid=33(www-data) groups=33(www-data),119(gitolite) # id gitolite uid=110(gitolite) gid=119(gitolite) groups=119(gitolite),33(www-data) does not helped. I want to have no any problem to work apache (to view project), redmine to read source files for project (under git) and git (doing deploy to www-data accessible path) what should I do ?

    Before I pose my question, I will give some insight as per my scenario: I work for a small business (cost is an important factor) Our bandwidth is limited and would not support an in-house FTP server We need to share files (mostly pdf, inDesign, Illustrator documents) to our clients, and as we expand, we are finding that our current locally-hosted FTP solution is too slow and is becoming a detriment to our sales team. What we need is a remotely hosted solution to share files with our clients, specifically with the following features: Greater than 100gb of secure storage The Ability to distribute unique log in credentials to clients, granting access to a personalized directory or folder, while limiting access to other files on the server. A relatively simple web-based UI for clients with limited computer knowledge We have considered a dedicated remote server, and web-based services (box.net, yousendit.com, onehub.com, filesanywhere.com) but I am unsure as per the direction we should be taking - have I left another solution out?   • Losing file permissions after rebooting Windows 7

    I have a User directory full of files that are not accessible permission wise for the user who's home directory it is. Said user can't run Explorer. For example, it provides an error complaining that permission is not available for required files. I tried various ways to give said user permission of his home directory and things are fine until after rebooting the machine; the permissions reset to the previous state and the problem persists. I followed the solution outlined here. And again things worked until I reboot the machine. I'm in this mess because I replaced a corrupted user profile as outlined here. The original user and the new replacement on are/where both admin accounts. In case it is relevant I will mention that the Users directory is not on the C volume but a D volume on the same machine. Any insight is appreciated.

  • Windows 2003 Server - File Permissions

    I have a Windows 2003 web server with a tree of folders that contains around 100GB of small images. I need to update the permissions on this folder to add a new user with access. I tried to do this by right clicking on the folder and adding the new user but the process never completed. I left it running for around an hour but it started to heavily impact the peformance of the server. Is there any other way to change these folder permissions without affecting server performance?     Look at the left area. There's double entry for the removable drive "CROSSGRAVE" but the other other one has different icon and when you expand it, it will show the icon for the removable drive. What might be this one? I don't understand why it is displaying another entry for removable drive(flash drive). but when I look at explorer by pressing win + E. It doesn't show this one.

  • Batch file installing executable only gives SYSTEM permissions

    So, I have a couple of batch files that install some executables and they work, but when the executables setup shortcuts on the desktop only SYSTEM has access to them. Is there a way I can prevent that or make it so it adds Domain Users access or something like that. I realize that the batch files are ran under the SYSTEM context, but I'd like to find a way to clean up after them. Thanks in advance!

    First, I want to say that I am not interested in debating about any non-helpful "answers" to my question, with suggestions to putting everything in one assembly, i.e. there is no need for anyone to provide webpages such as the page titled with "Separate Assemblies != Loose Coupling". Now, my question is if it somehow (maybe with some Visual Studio configuration to allow for circular project dependencies?) is possible to use one project/assembly (I am here calling it the "ServiceLocator" assembly) for retrieving concrete implementation classes, (e.g. with StructureMap) which can be referred to from other projects, while it of course is also necessary for the the ServiceLocator itself to refer to other projects with the interfaces and the implementations ? Visual Studio project example, illustrating the kind of dependency structure I am talking about: http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/8838/testingdependencyinject.png Please note in the above picture, the problem is how to let the classes in "ApplicationLayerServiceImplementations" retrieve and instantiate classes that implement the interfaces in "DomainLayerServiceInterfaces". The goal is here to not refer directly to the classes in "DomainLayerServiceImplementations", but rather to try using the project "ServiceLocator" to retrieve such classes, but then the circular dependency problem occurrs... The web.config section replacement works fine when built manually, but when built as part of a TFS build the section is not replaced. I cannot find any errors or warnings in the build log.   • Editing files without race conditions?

    I have a CSV file that needs to be edited by multiple processes at the same time. My question is, how can I do this without introducing race conditions? It's easy to write to the end of the file without race conditions by open(2)ing it in "a" (O_APPEND) mode and simply write to it. Things get more difficult when removing lines from the file. The easiest solution is to read the file into memory, make changes to it, and overwrite it back to the file. If another process writes to it after it is in memory, however, that new data will be lost upon overwriting. To further complicate matters, my platform does not support POSIX record locks, checking for file existence is a race condition waiting to happen, rename(2) replaces the destination file if it exists instead of failing, and editing files in-place leaves empty bytes in it unless the remaining bytes are shifted towards the beginning of the file. My idea for removing a line is this (in pseudocode): filename = "/home/user/somefile"; file = open(filename, "r"); tmp = open(filename+".tmp", "ax") || die("could not create tmp file"); //"a" is O_APPEND, "x" is O_EXCL|O_CREAT while(write(tmp, read(file)); //copy the $file to $file+".new" close(file); //edit tmp file unlink(filename) || die("could not unlink file"); file = open(filename, "wx") || die("another process must have written to the file after we copied it."); //"w" is overwrite, "x" is force file creation while(write(file, read(tmp))); //copy ".tmp" back to the original file unlink(filename+".tmp") || die("could not unlink tmp file"); Or would I be better off with a simple lock file? Appender process: lock = open(filename+".lock", "wx") || die("could not lock file"); file = open(filename, "a"); write(file, "stuff"); close(file); close(lock); unlink(filename+".lock"); Editor process: lock = open(filename+".lock", "wx") || die("could not lock file"); file = open(filename, "rw"); while(contents += read(file)); //edit "contents" write(file, contents); close(file); close(lock); unlink(filename+".lock"); Both of these rely on an additional file that will be left over if a process terminates before unlinking it, causing other processes to refuse to write to the original file. In my opinion, these problems are brought on by the fact that the OS allows multiple writable file descriptors to be opened on the same file at the same time, instead of failing if a writable file descriptor is already open. It seems that O_CREAT|O_EXCL is the closest thing to a real solution for preventing filesystem race conditions, aside from POSIX record locks. Another possible solution is to separate the file into multiple files and directories, so that more granular control can be gained over components (lines, fields) of the file using O_CREAT|O_EXCL. For example, "file/$id/$field" would contain the value of column $field of the line $id. It wouldn't be a CSV file anymore, but it might just work. Yes, I know I should be using a database for this as databases are built to handle these types of problems, but the program is relatively simple and I was hoping to avoid the overhead. So, would any of these patterns work? Is there a better way? Any insight into these kinds of problems would be appreciated.
