ThinkUp is a brilliant application (currently in beta) that will archive all of your tweets, your replies, responses, etc. so that you can search through them and find out some helpful usage statistics. It has quite a few plugins, including one that adds full Facebook support, too. It’s designed to be installed on a LAMP server; that is, Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP is what will provide the backbone for it.     using the delcarative_authorization gem for rails, is there a shortcut to allow a role access to all controller actions? privileges do # default privilege hierarchies to facilitate RESTful Rails apps privilege :manage, :includes => [:create, :read, :update, :delete] end isn't sufficient, because I have more controlling methods than just CRUD in my controllers. Something like: role :foo do has_permission_on :bar, :to =>[:all] end would be perfect, but I'm not finding it in the docs.

Rotating makes the view aware of the clock and resizes it to begin correctly below the clock without any overlay. I've tried setting the defaultUrl in the forms section of web.config to "~/Common/Home/Index" with no success. I've also tried mapping a new route in global.asax, thus: routes.MapRoute( "Area", "{area}/{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { area = "Common", controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = "" } ); Again, to no avail.

  • ASP MVC Controller Method not always called from $.getJSON request

    I have a controller method that returns a jSON object and in one calling situation, it works and in another calling situation, it does not work. When the URL in my browser is this: http://localhost:65247/Client -- it works. But, when my url looks like this: http://localhost:65247/Client/UserAdmin?id=6 -- it DOES NOT work In a nutshell, clients have users. From within the client, I wish to work on a specific user (this is the UserAdmin view). In this case, the client id is 6. From within the UserAdmin view that was launched with Id=6, I then wish to select a user from a dropdown. The idea was to use javascript and $.getJSON to fetch data for the specific user so as not to have to refresh the entire page. I use this approach in other parts of the app. The only difference I can see is with the URL in the browser. It would appear the presence of parameters via the '?' is futzing things up a bit. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance. John
