  • Creating an Apache Virtual Directory, but updating Active Directory DNS

    Hello all, I'm just getting started with using the Zend Framework and am following a recommended procedure where I am supposed to create an Apache Virtual Directory for the public-facing portion of a new Zend project. I don't THINK I had any issues creating the Virtual Directory, but my knowledge of the required DNS changes is rather lacking. The dev server I'm using is on a Microsoft Windows Active Directory domain, so I've added A records for both the server name and the subdomain. Still, trying to browse to the site from a Windows 7 PC isn't working properly. What am I missing? What's the proper set of steps for getting an Apache-served subdomain to appear properly in a peer computer's web browser? Details below: server: Debian command-line only, freshly installed today with Zend Server CE LAMP stack server name: ZENDEV subdomain: SQUARE.ZENDEV AD Domain functional level: 2008 mixed (run by a mishmash of 03 and 08 servers) attempting to visit the sites: http://square.zendev and http://square.zendev.domain.local (name of domain redacted, but using the local (not com) suffix) Apache Virtual Directory added to httpd.conf: NameVirtualHost *:80 <VirtualHost *:80> DocumentRoot "/var/www/square/public" ServerName square.localhost </VirtualHost> Is this only a problem with DNS? Or with DNS and my Virtual Directory? Thanks! John

  • Installing ionCube on Windows 2008 64bit

    I've been trying to install ionCube onto my server but have not been having a lot of luck! My server is: Windows 2008 64bit PHP 5.3.14 Thread Safe disabled running as FastCGI In my PHP.ini I have : zend_extension="C:\Program Files (x86)\PHP\ext\ioncube_loader_win_5.2.dll" The path is correct. The DLL is from the x86 NONTS VC9 version of ionCube and PHP is using the MSVC9 (Visual C++ 2008) compiler though I have also tried using the x86 NONTS VC6 version of ionCube. I'm not getting any error but I'm also not getting ionCube when using phpinfo(): This program makes use of the Zend Scripting Language Engine: Zend Engine v2.3.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2012 Zend Technologies Apart from the mail application pools I have also set all the applications in the application pool in IIS7 to use 32bit mode. I don't know if FastCGI is running under 64 or 32 bit mode nor how to switch it or whether it would make a difference? I know it can be a problem installing ionCube onto 64bit Windows but I have also come across threads whereby other people have also [somehow] managed to get it working but even though I seem to be doing the same as them I still can't get it working.

  • Am I obligated to install Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications to receive all Microsoft updates?

    Do I have to install WGA Notifications to receive all Microsoft updates? I currently don't have it on my hard drive, and I get a notification from Microsoft Update urging me to validate my copy of Windows XP. If I don't validate my copy, I don't get all updates. When I click the link however, I get an ActiveX error message. (Yes, I'm doing this in IE8.) Could this have something to do with my decision not to install WGA Notifications?

  • Seam/JSF/Facelets Compiler or Validator (equivalent of JspC for JSP)

    Is there such a thing as JspC in the Seam/JSF/Facelets world? I used the Tomcat's JspC to validate a JSP/Struts application to validate if there are typos in the JSPs or some JSP was calling a Java function that didn't exist, etc. etc. From time to time I come across bugs in my current project (Seam/Facelets/RichFaces) where it's caused by a typo in action/value binding. And I think bugs like these can be caught using a program. Just wondering if someone has already written one. Basically a tool that can validate if the method/value binding are correct. I know this would be specially hard in Seam since names are Context sensitive and the tool should somehow figure out what the context is. But I think it should be easier to just check if the names are valid and the Objects bound to those names have the methods and/or properties being referred to in the JSF page. Thanks

    Scott Gu's tutorial on Model validation gets us all set up with the MS client side validation using the following scripts: <script src="../../Scripts/jquery.validate.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="../../Scripts/MicrosoftMvcValidation.js" type="text/javascript"></script> However I've seen various posts allowing us to utilise jQuery instead with the following code: <script src="https://ajax.microsoft.com/ajax/jquery/jquery-1.4.2.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="https://ajax.microsoft.com/ajax/jQuery.Validate/1.6/jQuery.Validate.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="<%= Url.Content("~/scripts/MicrosoftMvcJQueryValidation.js") %>" type="text/javascript"></script> However MicrosoftMvcJQueryValidation.js does not ship with the solution and from what I read it should be part of the Futures pack which is no longer available on CodePlex. I managed to find a version alongside jQuery 1.3.2 but it does not work. What is the forward going solution!?

    Even though I always strive for complete validation these days, I often wonder if it's a waste of time. If the code runs and it looks the same in all browsers (I use browsershots.org to verify) then do I need to take it any further or am I just being overly anal? What level do you hold your code to when you create it for: a) yourself b) your clients P.S. Jeff and company, why doesn't stack overflow validate? :) EDIT: Some good insights, I think that since I've been so valid-obsessed for so long I program knowing what will cause problems and what won't so I'm in a better position than people who create a site first and then "go back and fix the validation problems" I think I may post another question on stack overflow; "Do you validate as you go or do you finish and then go back and validate?" as that seems to be where this question is going

  • Debugging php-cli scripts with xdebug and netbeans?

    I have managed to initiate php-cli script debug session from the IDE itself, but I need to start the debugging session from the shell / command line. These are rather complex maintenance PHP scripts which take a lot of input parameters, so entering arguments from within Netbeans is a bit cumbersome. I have done it before with Zend studio http://kb.zend.com/index.php?View=entry&EntryID=130 but now I need to get it working with Netbeans. Thanks in advance.

  • Issues dismissing keyboard conditionally with on iPhone

    I have an app that has a username and password field. I want to validate the input before the the user is allowed to stop editing the field. To do that, I'm using the textFieldShouldEndEditing delegate method. If the input doesn't validate I display a UIAlertView. This approach works as advertised - the user cannot leave the field if the input doesn't validate. To have the done button on the keyboard dismiss the keyboard, I call resignFirstResponder on the textfield. The issue I have is the alert is being called twice. How do I keep the alert from showing twice?

    I am developing an application to read an excel spreadsheet, validate the data and then map it to a sql table. The process is to read the file via a streamreader, validate the data, manually make corrections to the excel spreadsheet, validate again -- repeat this process until all data validates. If the excel spreadsheet is open, then when I attempt to read the data via a streamreader I get an error, "The process cannot access the file ... because it is being used by another process." Is there a way to remove the lock or otherwise read the data into a streamreader without having to open and close excel each time?

    I have stripes:link tag in a jsp with an event attribute: <stripes:link href="${actionBean.context.currentStage.stripesForwardAction}" addSourcePage="true" event="showTab2Link"> This triggers the validation to trigger on nested properties: @ValidateNestedProperties({ @Validate(field="county", required=true, minlength=2, maxlength=2, mask="\\d\\d"), @Validate(field="parish", required=true, minlength=3, maxlength=3, mask="\\d\\d\\d"), @Validate(field="holding", required=true, minlength=4, maxlength=4, mask="\\d\\d\\d\\d") }) However this would been fine if the actual values it is validation are not present, but they are present within the html and when debugging the bean. Why would the stripes:link trigger this? If I change it to an stripes:submit then it is fine. thanks, Dave

  • Validating a Postscript without trying to print it?

    Saving data to Postscript in my app results in a Postscript file which I can view without issues in GhostView, but when I try to print it, the printer isn't able to print it because it seems to be invalid. Is there a way to validate / find errors in Postscript files without actually sending it to a printer? Preferred would be some kind of Java API/library, but a program which does the same would be fine as well. Edit #1 : no I don't know why it's invalid, nor even necessarily if it's invalid, but would like to be able to validate it outside of ghostview, or figure out what's going on when it can't print. Answer : Well using the ps2ps trick I was able to see the output that Postscript does and there check the difference. The difference was that I am not allowed to have a decimal number for the width or height of images in the Postscript, but rather only integers. So I still didn't find a way to validate, but this way was good enough for my problem. Thanks.

  • best approach to do jsf form validation

    If I have many input controls in a form (There are separate validators for each of these input controls - like required,length and so on ) , there is a command button which submits the form and calls an action method. The requirement is - though the input control values are , say , individually okay - the combination of these values should be okay to process them together after the form submission - Where do i place the code to validate them together? 1) Can i add a custom validator for the command button and validate the combination together? like validate(FacesContext arg0, UIComponent arg1, Object value) but even then I will not have values of the other input controls except for the command button's/component's value right ? 2) can i do the validation of the combination in the action method and add validation messages using FacesMessage ? or do you suggest any other approach? We're using UPS's Extended Address Validation (XAV) web service API to validate the addresses. Our current plan is to build a .NET web service that can be used to communicate between our applications and the UPS API. We have applications in VB6, classic ASP, and .NET 2.0, so we'd like to implement a solution that can be easily consumed by each of these programming environments. What are our (Microsoft) options for designing a web service that can be consumed by multiple clients? In particular, is there a way to design a single web service that can respond with JSON (in case we want to validate our web page using javascript) in addition to XML? I'm new to designing web services and want to make sure we consider all of our options. I've heard terms like asmx, WCF, OData, etc., but I don't know which frameworks will support what we're trying to do and where to start.

    I took the rules that I'd been using to validate my form and broke them out into a JSON object, hoping to use the same set of rules for client/server validation. So, where I had: $(document.getElementById('new_listing_form')).validate({ rules: { apt: { required: true } } }); I'm attempting to use: var rules_obj = { apt: { required: true } }; $(document.getElementById('new_listing_form')).validate({ rules: rules_obj }); ... and the form is not being validated. Does anyone know if this is possible?

    I think there is a bug in this filter_var or maybe I'm doing something wrong: Try this: $options = array( 'options' => array( 'default' => 3, 'min_range' => 1000.0, 'max_range' => 5000.6, ) ); $VariableValue2 = 5698; $VariableValue4 = 5698.2; $chicco3 = filter_var($VariableValue2, FILTER_VALIDATE_INT, $options); $chicco4 = filter_var($VariableValue4, FILTER_VALIDATE_FLOAT, $options); It suppose to don't validate it... Infact the value: 5698 is greater than 5000.6!!!! But with FILTER_VALIDATE_INT it work FINE!! It return 3 that is the default value in case it don't validate it... PERFECT... Instead, with FILTER_VALIDATE_FLOAT it validate it... It return 5698.2!!! I'm doing something wrong??? Thank you to everybody... Samuele

    Hi there. I am writing an application where users are required to show their photo, however as my server resources are very limited I can not let them upload it to the server. So I have three major questions: 1. How to properly validate photo URL? At least I can validate with regexp, however I need to check for file ending: `validates_format_of :photo_url, :with => URI::regexp(%w(http https))` 2. Security issues? XSS? Even I validate the picture at the moment of creation, hacker can replace image with malicious stuff anytime. 3. Maybe there are free asset stores with API?
