• Godaddy multiple domain problem

  I have godaddy deluxe plan and here is my problem: I have two domains for example: e1.com and e2.com. Both are hosted in same hosting plan. First I created a folder for each domain in the root folder and uploaded two web site but when I'm trying to run my sites, the URL for e1 always shows http://e1.com/e1/ and for e2 it shows http://e2.com/e2. Can I avoid showing e1 and e2 folder and only show http://e1.com and http://e2.com? Thank you.

• Provisioning Videos

  There are a couple of new videos up on the Oracle Learning Youtube channel about Ops Center's provisioning capabilities. Simon Hayler does a walkthrough of a couple of different procedures. The first video shows you how to provision Oracle Solaris zones. It explains how to create an Oracle Solaris Zone profile, and then how to apply it (using a deployment plan) to a target system. The second video shows you how to provision an x86 server with Oracle Solaris. This uses a very similar process - you create a OS provisioning profile, then use a deployment plan to apply it to the target hardware. The documentation goes over OS provisioning and zone creation in the Feature Guide, if you're looking for additional information.

• Networking Programs Suitable For Symbolic Testing

  Symbolic execution has been successfully used to test programs and automatically generate test cases. I've been working on my master's thesis that allows the testing of arbitrary networked programs (i.e., those communicating via sockets). Now that we have a working symbolic execution engine that has support for sockets, we're looking for real-world pieces of software to test. Our engine has an important restriction (at the moment): it cannot execute multi-threaded programs. So, we're looking for programs that satisfy the criteria outlined below: Written in C Communicates via sockets (TCP / UDP are supported) Does not rely on the filesystem to get the "job" done Runs on Linux Does not use multi-threading Source is available (so that we can compile them to LLVM bytecode) Most programs that would fall under the criteria would probably be implementations of distributed protocols solving a particular problem (e.g., consensus). Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

• Live Debugging

  Based on my classification of diagnostics, you should know what live debugging is NOT about - at least according to me :-) and in this post I'll share how I think of live debugging. These are the (outer) steps to live debugging Get the debugger in the picture. Control program execution. Inspect state. Iterate between 2 and 3 as necessary. Stop debugging (and potentially start new iteration going back to step 1). Step 1 has two options: start with the debugger attached, or execute your binary separately and attach the debugger later. You might say there is a 3rd option, where the app notifies you that there is an issue, referred to as JIT debugging. However, that is just a variation of the attach because that is when you start the debugging session: when you attach. I'll be covering in future posts how this step works in Visual Studio. Step 2 is about pausing (or breaking) your app so that it makes no progress and remains "frozen". A sub-variation is to pause only parts of its execution, or in other words to freeze individual threads. I'll be covering in future posts the various ways you can perform this step in Visual Studio. Step 3, is about seeing what the state of your program is when you have paused it. Typically it involves comparing the state you are finding, with a mental picture of what you thought the state would be. Or simply checking invariants about the intended state of the app, with the actual state of the app. I'll be covering in future posts the various ways you can perform this step in Visual Studio. Step 4 is necessary if you need to inspect more state - rinse and repeat. Self-explanatory, and will be covered as part of steps 2 & 3. Step 5 is the most straightforward, with 3 options: Detach the debugger; terminate your binary though the normal way that it terminates (e.g. close the main window); and, terminate the debugging session through your debugger with a result that it terminates the execution of your program too. In a future post I'll cover the ways you can detach or terminate the debugger in Visual Studio. I found an old picture I used to use to map the steps above on Visual Studio 2010. It is basically the Debug menu with colored rectangles around each menu mapping the menu to one of the first 3 steps (step 5 was merged with step 1 for that slide). • Looking for a .Net ORM

  I'm looking for a .Net 3.5 ORM framework with a rather unusual set of requirements: I need to create and alter tables at runtime with schemas defined by my end-users. (Obviously, that wouldn't be strongly-typed; I'm looking for something like a DataTable there) I also want regular strongly-typed partial classes for rows in non-dynamic tables, with custom validation and other logic. (Like normal ORMs) I want to load the entire database (or some entire tables) once, and keep it in memory throughout the life of the (WinForms) GUI. (I have a shared SQL Server with a relatively slow connection) I also want regular LINQ support (like LINQ-to-SQL) for ASP.Net on the shared server (which has a fast connection to SQL Server) In addition to SQL Server, I also want to be able to use a single-file database that would support XCopy deployment (without installing SQL CE on the end-user's machine). (Probably Access or SQLite) Finally, it has to be free (unless it's OpenAccess) I'll probably have to write it myself, as I don't think there is an existing ORM that meets these requirements. However, I don't want to re-invent the wheel if there is one, hence this question. I'm using VS2010, but I don't know when my webhost (LFC) will upgrade to .Net 4.0

• Beginning with first project on game development [closed]

  Today is the day I am going to start my first real game project. It will be a Universe simulator. Basically, you can build anything from tiny meteor to quazars and universes. It is going to be my project for an olympiad in IT in my country and I really want to make it perfect(at least a bronze medal). So, I would like to ask some questions about organization and development methodologies. Firstly, my plan is to make a time schedule. In it I would write my plans for the next month or two(because that is the time I have). With this exact plan I hope to make my organisation at its best. Of course, if I am doing sth faster than the schedule I would involve more features for the game and/or continue with the tempo I have. Also, for the organisation I would make a basic pseudocode(maybe) and just rewrite it so it is compilable. Like a basic skeleton of everything. The last is an idea I tought of in the moment, but if it is good I will use it. Secondly, for the development methodologies, obviously, I think of making object-oriented code and make everything perfect(a lot of testing, good code, documentation etc.). Also, I am going to make my own menu system(I read that OpenGL hasn't got very good one). Maybe I would implement it with an xml file, holding the info about position of buttons, text boxes, images and everything. Maybe I would do a specific CSS for it and so on. I think that is very good way of doing the menu system, because it makes the presentation layer separate of the logic. But, if there is a better way, I would do it the better way. For the logic, well, I don't have much to say. OO code, testing, debuging, good and fast algorithms and so on. Also, a good documentation must be written and this is the area I need to make some research in. I think that is for now. I hope I have been enough descriptive. If more questions come on my mind, I will ask them. Edit: I think of blogging every part of the project, or at least writing down everything in a file or something like that. My question is: Is my plan of how to do everything around the project good? And if not, what is necessary to be improved and what other things I can involve for making the project good.

  The asp.net FileUpload control allows a user to browse and upload files to the web server. From developers perspective, it is as simple as dragging and dropping the FileUpload control to the aspx page. An extra control, like a Button control, or some other control is needed, to actually save the file. <asp:FileUploadID="FileUpload1"runat="server"/> <asp:ButtonID="B1"runat="server"Text="Save"OnClick="B1_Click"/> By default, the FileUpload control allows a maximum of 4MB file to be uploaded and the execution timeout is 110 seconds. These properties can be changed from within the web.config file’s httpRuntime section. The maxRequestLength property determines the maximum file size that can be uploaded. The executionTimeout property determines the maximum time for execution. <httpRuntimemaxRequestLength="8192"executionTimeout="220"/> From code behind, the mime type, size of the file, file name and the extension of the file can be obtained. The maximum file size that can be uploaded can be obtained and modified using the System.Web.Configuration.HttpRuntimeSection class. Files can be alternatively saved using the System.IO.HttpFileCollection class. This collection class can be populated using the Request.Files property.
