• JSP request parameter is returning null on a jsp include win Weblogic.

  Hello, I am having trouble with the jsp:include tag. I have code like the following: <jsp:include page="./Address.jsp"> <jsp:param value="30" name="tabIndex"/> <jsp:param value="true" name="showBox"/> <jsp:param value="none" name="display"/> </jsp:include> The page is included fine, but when I try to access the parameters on the Address.jsp page, they are null. I have tried accessing them the following ways (with jstl): <c:out value="${param.tabIndex}" /> <c:out value="${param['tabIndex']} /> <%= request.getParameter("tabIndex") %> <c:out value="${pageScope.param.tabIndex} /> ${param.tabIndex} etc... Here is the kicker, The above works fine in tomcat 5.5. However, when I deploy the application in Weblogic 10, it does not. Also, the code works fine in other areas of my application (on weblogic) just not a particular page. Any Ideas? Thanks!

• Google maps KM bounds box reapplying itself on map zoom

  I have a map in which I apply a custom overlay using KMbox overlay to signify where I think the users general point of interest lies. What I want is to display this map to the user and allow them to click on the map to give me an exact location match of their POI. This all works fine except for when the user clicks on the map and changes the zoom of the map. • JTable data only shown after scrolling

  I wrote a method, that creates my DefaultTableModel and there I'm going to add my records. When I set the model to my JTable, the data rows are blank. After scrolling the data gets displayed correct. How can I avoid this and display the data from the first moment?   I'm developing a PHP App on IIS 7.5, which uses PHP FTP commands. These all work, apart from ftp_size(). I've tested: cmd.exe > ftp host > username > password > SIZE filename = Invalid Command However, if I access the FTP site through an Internet Browser, the filesize is displayed. Do I need to install FTP Extensions, and if so, which ones and where do I get them? • How to adjust font size with Cufon?

  I am using a condensed font in Cufon. When the page loads, my menu is too wide and wraps. Then Cufon replaces the font and it looks fine. To reduce the visual distraction, I want to set the font size smaller and then have Cufon change the font size when it displays. Currently the font size is set by the div containing the menu. • CMS for managing plain-text content, with tagging

  Hi, We have some quite-specific requirements for our app that a CMS may help us with, and were hoping that someone may know of a CMS that matches these requirements (it's quite a laborous task to download each CMS and verify this manually). We want a CMS to allow users to create and manage articles, but storing the articles in plain-text only. All of the CMSs that we have looked at so far are geared towards creating HTML pages. We want the CMS to manage workflow (approval process), and tracking of history. The requirements for plain text only is that the intent is to allow business people to generate content which we are going to display in our Silverlight application - we don't want to go down the route of hosting and displaying arbitrary HTML in the app as we want the styling to be seamless with our app, amongst other reasons. We would also want to allow the user to be able to link between articles, but not to external sites (i.e. HTML with no formatting, or some other way of specifying article links), and the third requirement is the ability to tag articles and search on articles. Does anyone know of any non-HTML targetted CMS systems that may match these requirements? Thanks, Gary

• Extjs - Loading Grid when call

  I have form and grid. the user must enter data in form fields then display related records in the grid. I want to implement a search form, e.g: user will type the name and gender of the student, then will get a grid of all students have the same name and gender. So, I use ajax to send form fields value to PHP and then creat a json_encode wich will be used in grid store. I am really not sure if my idea is good. But I haven't found another way to do that. The problem is when I set autoLoad to true in the store, the grid automatically filled with all data - not just what I asked for - So, I understand that I have to set autoLoad to false, but then the result not shown in the grid even it returned successfully in the firebug! I don't know what to do. • Using function arguments to dynamically generate a query

  I am working on an issue management system, developed in PHP/MySQL. It requires search functionality, where the user will mention the search parameters and based on these parameters the system will return the result set. To solve this I am trying to write a function and all the user selected parameters are passed as arguments. Based on the arguments I will dynamically generate the query. Sample Query: select * from tickets inner join ticket_assigned_to on tickets.id=ticket_assigned_to.ticket_id where tickets.project_id= in ('') and tickets.status in ('') and ticket_assigned_to.user_id in ('') and tickets.reporter_user_id='' and tickets.operator_user_id in ('') and tickets.due_date between '' and '' and tickets.ts_created between '' and ''; I also need to handle cases where the arguments can be ORed or ANDed in the query. For example: select * from tickets inner join ticket_assigned_to on tickets.id=ticket_assigned_to.ticket_id where tickets.project_id= in ('') and tickets.status in ('') or tickets.due_date = '' or tickets.ts_created between '' and ''; I am also planning to use the same function at other places in the project also. Like to display all the tickets of a user or all tickets created between given dates and so on... How to handle this situation? Should I go with a single function which handles all this or numerous small functions? Need guidance here.

• Convert a Dynamic[] construct to a numerical list

  I have been trying to put together something that allows me to extract points from a ListPlot in order to use them in further computations. My current approach is to select points with a Locator[]. This works fine for displaying points, but I cannot figure out how to extract numerical values from a construct with head Dynamic[]. Below is a self-contained example. By dragging the gray locator, you should be able to select points (indicated by the pink locator and stored in q, a list of two elements). This is the second line below the plot. Now I would like to pass q[[2]] to a function, or perhaps simply display it. However, Mathematica treats q as a single entity with head Dynamic, and thus taking the second part is impossible (hence the error message).   Hi, I know how you can set an tag's url attribute programmatically in c#, but it seems when I try to access the image element inside of a tag I cannot access it. The is residing in the . NOTE: I am only having this issue inside the Now the ListView tag is also databound.(this is probably why I cannot access, because it isn't guaranteed that it will even exist perhaps). How can I get around this so that I can display my images programmatically or is there a better solution?   Hello everyone, Let's say we have a self-referencing table called PERSON, with the following columns: ID, PARENT, where PARENT is a foreign key to the ID column of another element in the PERSON table. Of course, many persons can have the same parent. I use Hibernate 3 in lazy fetching mode to deal with the database. Hibernate fetches a person element from the database, which is then put in the ValueStack by the Struts2 action, to be used on the result JSP page. Now the question is : In JSP, how can I do to display all the child (and the child's child, and so on, like a family tree) of this person element? Of course, for the n+1 children I can use the < s:iterator tag over the person.person. I can also nest another < s:iterator tag over person.person.person to get the n+2 children. But what if I want to do this in an automated manner, up to the last n+p child, displaying in the process all the children of all the n+1..n+p elements? I hope I have been clear enough. • Tips for Using Multiple Development Systems

  When I travel, I don't pack up the desktop I use in the office and take it with me. Maybe I should, but I don't. However, since I'm a contract programmer I like to be able to work wherever I am: I'm mostly thinking of web development here. Version Control goes a long way in keeping sane and working on multiple projects on multiple systems (two or three computers); however, there are the issues of: IDE settings - different display sizes mean the IDE settings can't be completely synced, if at all. Database - if the database is 'external' (even if it's running on the same system, it's not in version control), how do you maintain the needed syncs of structure. Development Stack - Some projects need non-standard extensions, libraries, etc installed. Just an overview of some of the hassle involved with developing on multiple systems. I'll probably end up asking some specific questions, but I thought a CW style tips might reveal some things I would even think to ask about. Update: I guess this would also address tips to make upgrading/replacing your development system easier (something I've just done). So, one tip per answer please, so the 'top' tips are easy to find. How do you make it easier to develop on multiple systems, or to transfer work after upgrading/replaceing a development system?

  Hi Ok, after I ran into a dead end modifieing an existing Apple example for CoreData, I started completely new creating my own project and that worked fine,..... until I tried to access a related entity. So here is what I did. I created 2 entities, where one is just the detail information of the other one, so there is a one-2-one relationship. Entity #1, Stocks: name value details -- relationship to Entity #2 Entity #2, StockDetails: bank published stock -- relationship to Entity #1 Now, I created the "Managed Object Class" for both of the Entities. Next I put everything into a UITableViewController for a preview and another for a detail view. The preview just shows infos form Entity #1 (Stocks) and when selected it shows the detail view. Now here I also display the infos form Entity #1 (Stocks) but I want to show the Entity #2 (StockDetails) aswell. This is how I try to access the data : StockDetails *details_ = [stockinfo details]; And this gives me a EXC_BAD_ACCESS. So any idea what I am doing wrong here ? Thanks

• Super inplace controls in_place_select displays incorrectly

  I'm using the super_inplace_controls plugin to allow users to edit fields on the "show" page. However, I'm running into an issue with the in_place_select function. Here is my view: <p> <b>Status:</b> <%= in_place_select :incident, :incident_status, :choices => @statuses.map { |e| [e.name, e.id] } %> </p> This is in the 'Incident' view. IncidentStatus is a separate table that has_many Incidents. In the Incident controller, I retrieve @statuses like so: @statuses = IncidentStatus.find(:all) Everything works fine for the in_place_select, except the original display. In my browser, it shows: Status: #<IncidentStatus:0x1033147d8> Which means it's not grabbing the current incident_status.name, but it's just changing the object to a string. I'm not sure how to fix this! When I click on the "IncidentStatus:0x1033147d8", everything works properly and I can select the proper fields. Thanks for any help!

• Why is my PHP upload script not working?

  Hello all, I am doing some simple work with uploading a file. I am ignoring error checking and exceptions at this point just to get my uploads working. I have this HTML form: <form action='addResult.php' method='post' enctype='multipart/form-data' target='results_iFrame' onsubmit='startUpload();'> Entry: <input type='text' id='entry' /> Stop: <input type='text' id='stop' /> Final: <input type='text' id='final' /> Chart: <input type='file' id='chart' /> <input type='submit' value='Add' /></form> As you can see, it calls 'addResult.php' within the iFrame 'results_iFrame'. The Javascript is just for animation purposes and to tell me when things are finished. addResult.php has this code in it (along with processing the other inputs): $upload_dir = "../img/"; $chart_loc = $upload_dir.basename($_FILES['chart']['name']); move_uploaded_file($_FILES['chart']['tmp_name'], $chart_loc); print_r($_FILES); It uses the 'chart' input from the form and tries to upload it. I have the print_r() function to display some information on $_FILES, but the array is empty, thus making this fail. What could I be doing wrong?

  HI, i am using the following code to show a link which is inside the li element. the constrain is, once the mouse enter into li element, and if it's stay inside 3sec, then it need to show. once i leave from li element, immateriality it should hide. for this, i am using : var showTimeOut; var thisElement $('.user-list li').live('mouseover',function(){ thisElement = $(this).children('a.copier-link'); showTimeOut = setInterval(function(){ thisElement.css({'display':'block'}); },3000); }) $('.user-list li').live('mouseleave',function(){ clearInterval(showTimeOut); thisElement.hide(); }) It's work fine. But the problem is, while i cross the li element with just a second, even the interval is calling, and showing the link. but i need to show only, if i stay inside 3sec and it need to hide there after, again i stay back 3sec. anything wrong with my code?, else any one give me the best suggestion?   Hi, I wonder is anyone can look at this code and tell me why calling the removeSelectedChild works when called from the same document, but returns the following error when called from the child document/component. Sorry that the example is a little contrived, this problem arose in a quite complicated view, which was using all kinds of custom components. This was the only way I could display it in a way that will be quick for you to compile and easy to focus on the real issue without background noise.
