    Basically a dup of this question using php, but I need it for C#. I need to be able to replace any & that is not currently not any HTML entity (e.g. &amp;) before outputting to screen. I was thinking a regex, but I'm not sure if .Net has something built in that will do this.

    In my ASP.NET application I have separate projects for the Data, Business and UI layers. My business layer is composed of plain objects with declarative validation, using DataAnnotations. Problem is, when it comes to save them, I'm not sure how to process the validation, since they're not bound directly to any data context, but rather, are mapped to separate data-layer objects. Is there a way to trigger validation on these kinds of objects?

    I did a system test on a new ASP.NET app. I encountered several exceptions when using the BACK button in my browser (IE 7). I stated in a review-record that the web-app must support the use of a BACK button (or at least handle it gracefully with for example session-time out warnings). The teamlead did not agree with me as he stated that a web-app should not support working with the back-button by default. Do you agree?

For server side validations i m using ComponentModel.DataAnnotations. these validations are reflected to client side by html helper's method Html.EnableClientValidation(). this scheme works fine for except that it triggers the validation on blur event of each form control whereas i want to have it triggered on form's submit event. any suggestions in this regard are highly appreciated regards

    It seems that CompilationMode=Never doesn't permit Sessions to be properly wired. It first complains that the EnbaleSessionState directive is not allowed on this page. Explicitly assigning the System.Web.SessionState.IRequiresSessionState to the Page [1] avoids the null reference exceptions (around .Session access) but still doesn't persist or wire-up sessions correctly. Has anyone successfully used ASP.NET Sessions with CompilationMode=Never? Conceptually, why should these be disjoint??     I have a search page where I would like to stop the user entering a ' into textboxes, or replace it with a suitable character. Can anyone help me achieve this in asp.net vb ?
