  • Changing text of TextView -- old text doesn't go away (Android 4.1.2)

    - by Jason Costabile
    I'm pretty new to Android development. Trying to accomplish something fairly simple -- change some displayed text when a timer ticks. Here's the potentially relevant code: CountDownTimer currentTimer; Resources res; TextView timerText; @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.activity_exercise); res = getResources(); timerText = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.timer_text); } @Override protected void onStart() { super.onStart(); //"Get ready" countdown currentTimer = new CountDownTimer(5000, 1000) { @Override public void onTick(long millisUntilFinished) { timerText.setText("" + (int)Math.ceil(millisUntilFinished / 1000.0)); } @Override public void onFinish() { ... } }; currentTimer.start(); } This works fine on an emulated 4.2.2 device, but on a 4.1.2 device (both physical and emulated), the changed TextView appears as such while the countdown proceeds: If you can't tell, that's the numbers 5,4,3 overlayed. So, when I set a new string for the TextView, the new string is displayed but without replacing the old string. Any other TextViews used in my app behave in the same way. Any ideas what the problem is and how to fix it? Edit: From the XML layout file: <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools" tools:context=".ExerciseActivity" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" android:gravity="center" android:keepScreenOn="true" android:orientation="vertical" > ... <TextView android:id="@+id/timer_text" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_weight="1" android:textIsSelectable="false" android:hint="@string/timer_default" /> ... </LinearLayout> That's all that could be relevant.

  • VB.net Saving an MetaFile / EMF as a bitmap ( .tiff)

    - by pehaada
    Currently I have a third party control that generates a Metafile. I can save the .wmf file to disk with out issue. The problem is how do I render the Metafile as a Tiff file. Currently I have the following code to get my metafile and save it. Dim mf As Metafile = page.GetImage(TXTextControl.Page.PageContent.All) Dim enhMetafileHandle As IntPtr = mf.GetHenhmetafile() Dim h As IntPtr Dim bufferSize As UInteger = GetEnhMetaFileBits(enhMetafileHandle, 0, h) Dim buffer(CInt(bufferSize)) As Byte GetEnhMetaFileBits(enhMetafileHandle, bufferSize, buffer) Dim msMetafileStream As New MemoryStream msMetafileStream.Write(buffer, 0, CInt(bufferSize)) Dim baMetafileData() As Byte baMetafileData = msMetafileStream.ToArray Dim g As Graphics = Graphics.FromImage(mf) mf.Dispose() File.WriteAllBytes("c:\a.wmf", baMetafileData) end sub _ Public Shared Function GetEnhMetaFileBits( ByVal hEMF As System.IntPtr, ByVal nSize As UInteger, ByVal lpData As IntPtr) As UInteger End Function <System.Runtime.InteropServices.DllImportAttribute("gdi32.dll", EntryPoint:="GetEnhMetaFileBits")> _ Public Shared Function GetEnhMetaFileBits(<System.Runtime.InteropServices.InAttribute()> ByVal hEMF As System.IntPtr, ByVal nSize As UInteger, ByVal lpData() As Byte) As UInteger End Function I've tried all sort of IMAGE and Graphic calls and just can't save the meta file as a .tiff. Any suggestions would be great. I even tried to create a new bitmap and draw the metafile onto it. I always end up with a GDI exception being thrown.

  • Counting the number of objects that meets a certain criteria

    - by Candy Chiu
    The title doesn't tell the complete story. Please read the message. I have two objects: Adult and Child. Child has a boolean field isMale, and a reference to Adult. Adult doesn't reference Child. public class Adult { long id; } public class Child { long id; boolean isMale; Adult parent; } I want to create a query to list the number of sons each adult has including adults who don't have any sons. I tried: Query 1 SELECT adult, COUNT(child) FROM Child child RIGHT OUTER JOIN child.parent as adult WHERE child.isMale='true' GROUP BY adult which translates to sql select adult.id as col_0_0_, count(child.id) as col_1_0_, ... {omit properties} from Child child right outer join Adult adult on child.parentId=adult.id where child.isMale = 'true' group by adult.id Query 1 doesn't pick up adults that don't have any sons. Query 2: SELECT adult, COUNT(child.isMale) FROM Child child RIGHT OUTER JOIN child.parent as adult GROUP BY adult translates to sql: select adult.id as col_0_0_, count(child.id) as col_1_0_, ... {omit properties} from Child child right outer join Adult adult on child.parentId=adult.id group by adult.id Query 2 doesn't have the right count of sons. Basically COUNT doesn't evaluate isMale. The where clause in Query 1 filtered out Adults with no sons. How do I build a HQL or a Criteria query for this use case? Thanks.

  • Android Custom Adapter with Bar Progress

    - by xger86x
    Hi, i have a custom adapter for an arraylist. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="horizontal"> <ProgressBar android:id="@+id/downloadprogress" style="?android:attr/progressBarStyleHorizontal" android:layout_width="200dip" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:max="100" android:progress="50" android:secondaryProgress="75" /> <TextView android:id="@+id/tripsname" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content"/> </LinearLayout> but when i try to access to the progress bar in the adapter private class MyAdapter extends ArrayAdapter<Trip> { int resource; public MyAdapter(Context context, int resource, ArrayList<Trip> items) { super(context, resource,items); this.resource=resource; } @Override public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { LinearLayout tripListItemView; final Trip t = getItem(position); String name = t.getName(); boolean offline = t.isOffline() ; if(convertView==null) { tripListItemView = new LinearLayout(getContext()); String inflater = Context.LAYOUT_INFLATER_SERVICE; LayoutInflater vi; vi = (LayoutInflater)getContext().getSystemService(inflater); vi.inflate(resource, tripListItemView, true); } else { tripListItemView = (LinearLayout) convertView; } setProgressBarVisibility(true); View v = findViewById(R.id.downloadprogress); ProgressBar progressHorizontal = (ProgressBar) findViewById(R.id.downloadprogress); it always return null, like it doesn't find the progress bar. However, the progress bar is shown in the list, but i need to access to it inside the adapter. Anybody knows the solution? Thanks

  • fluent nHibernate mapping of subclassed structure

    - by Codezy
    I have a workflow class that has a collection of phases, each phase has a collection of tasks. You can design a workflow that will be used by many engagements. When used in engagement I want to be able to add properties to each class (workflow, phase, and task). For example a task in the designer does not have people assigned, but a task in an engagement would need extra properties like who is assigned to it. I have tried many different approaches using subclasses or interfaces but I just can't get it to map the way I want. Currently I have the engagement level versions as subclasses, but I can't get Engagement phases to map to engagement workflows. Public Class WorkflowMapping Inherits ClassMap(Of Workflow) Sub New() Id(Function(x As Workflow) x.Id).Column("Workflow_Id").GeneratedBy.Identity() Map(Function(x As Workflow) x.Description) Map(Function(x As Workflow) x.Generation) Map(Function(x As Workflow) x.IsActive) HasMany(Function(x As Workflow) x.Phases).Cascade.All() End Sub End Class Public Class EngagementWorkflowMapping Inherits SubclassMap(Of EngagementWorkflow) Sub New() Map(Function(x As EngagementWorkflow) x.ClientNo) Map(Function(x As EngagementWorkflow) x.EngagementNo) End Sub End Class How would you approach mapping this in fluent (or hbm) so that you could load just the workflow base class when designing the flow, or the engagement subclass versions of each when being used by an engagement?

  • multiple keys and values with google-collections

    - by flash3000
    Hello, I would like use google-collection in order to save the following file in a Hash with multiple keys and values Key1_1, Key2_1, Key3_1, data1_1, 0, 0 Key1_2, Key2_2, Key3_2, data1_2, 0, 0 Key1_3, Key2_3, Key3_3, data1_3, 0, 0 Key1_4, Key2_4, Key3_4, data1_4, 0, 0 The first three columns are the different keys and the last two integer are the two different values. I have already prepare a code which spilt the lines in chunks. import java.io.BufferedReader; import java.io.FileNotFoundException; import java.io.FileReader; import java.io.IOException; public class HashMapKey { public static void main(String[] args) throws FileNotFoundException, IOException { String inputFile = "inputData.txt"; BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(inputFile)); String strLine; while ((strLine = br.readLine()) != null) { String[] line = strLine.replaceAll(" ", "").trim().split(","); for (int i = 0; i < line.length; i++) { System.out.print("[" + line[i] + "]"); } System.out.println(); } } } Unfortunately, I do not know how to save these information in google-collection? Thank you in advance. Best regards,

  • Selectively suppress XML comments?

    - by Mike Post
    We deliver a number of assemblies to external customers, but not all of the public APIs are officially supported. For example, due to less than optimal design choices sometimes a type must be publicly exposed from an assembly for the rest of our code to work, but we don't want customers to use that type. One part of communicating the lack of support is not provide any intellisense in the form of XML comments. Is there a way to selectively suppress XML comments? I'm looking for something other than ignoring warning 1591 since it's a long term maintenance issue. Example: I have an assembly with public classes A and B. A is officially supported and should have XML documentation. B is not intended for external use and should not be documented. I could turn on XML documentation and then suppress warning 1591. But when I later add the officially supported class C, I want the compiler to tell me that I've screwed up and failed to add the XML documentation. This wouldn't occur if I had suppressed 1591 at the project level. I suppose I could #pragma across entire classes, but it seems like there should be a better way to do this.

  • Generating equals / hashcode / toString using annotation

    - by Bruno Bieth
    I believe I read somewhere people generating equals / hashcode / toString methods during compile time (using APT) by identifying which fields should be part of the hash / equality test. I couldn't find anything like that on the web (I might have dreamed it ?) ... That could be done like that : public class Person { @Id @GeneratedValue private Integer id; @Identity private String firstName, lastName; @Identity private Date dateOfBirth; //... } For an entity (so we want to exlude some fields, like the id). Or like a scala case class i.e a value object : @ValueObject public class Color { private int red, green, blue; } Not only the file becomes more readable and easier to write, but it also helps ensuring that all the attributes are part of the equals / hashcode (in case you add another attribute later on, without updating the methods accordingly). I heard APT isn't very well supported in IDE but I wouldn't see that as a major issue. After all, tests are mainly run by continuous integration servers. Any idea if this has been done already and if not why ? Thanks

  • NoSuchMethodError in Java using XStream

    - by Brad Germain
    I'm trying to save a database into a file using XStream and then open it again later using XStream and deserialize it back into the objects it was in previously. The database consists of an arraylist of tables, which consists of an arraylist of a data class where the data class contains an arraylist of objects. I'm basically trying to create an sql compiler. I'm currently getting a java.lang.NoSuchMethodError because of the last line in the load method. Here's what I have: Save Method public void save(Database DB){ File file = new File(DB.getName().toUpperCase() + ".xml"); //Test sample DB.createTable("TBL1(character(a));"); DB.tables.getTable("TBL1").rows.add(new DataList()); DB.tables.getTable("TBL1").rows.getRow(0).add(10); XStream xstream = new XStream(); //Database xstream.alias("Database", Database.class); //Tables xstream.alias("Table", Table.class); //Rows xstream.alias("Row", DataList.class); //Data //xstream.alias("Data", Object.class); //String xml = xstream.toXML(DB); Writer writer = null; try { writer = new FileWriter(file); writer.write(xstream.toXML(DB)); writer.close(); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } Load Method public void Load(String dbName){ XStream xstream = new XStream(); BufferedReader br; StringBuffer buff = null; try { br = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(dbName + ".xml")); buff = new StringBuffer(); String line; while((line = br.readLine()) != null){ buff.append(line); } } catch (FileNotFoundException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } database = (Database)xstream.fromXML(buff.toString()); }

  • PRISM - Creating mouseoverbehavior causes a Silverlight library to not be visible in main Silverligh

    - by RHLopez
    Created a simple Silverlight 4 application (SimpleApp) then added a Silverlight 4 library (LibraryA). Added code to the library (LibraryA) to implement MouseOverBehavior by inheriting from CommandBaseBehavior along with the appropriate attached property class/methods. Added reference in SimpleApp to LibraryA and went to MainPage.xaml to add namespace reference but it does not show up with Intellisense. Typing the namespace manually and then adding the attached MouseOver command works as it should as far as intellisense showing my attached property name, i.e. ... commands:MouseOver.Command="{Binding MousedOver}". However when I try to run it I get a XAML parser error saying that the "Command" attached property does not exist in MouseOver. If I move my class definitions from LibraryA to SimpleApp then everything works. I removed everything from LibraryA and just put one class with this in it: public class MouseOverBehavior : CommandBehaviorBase<Control> { public MouseOverBehavior(Control element) : base(element) {} } With this simple class in LibraryA it will not show up in XAML intellisense in SimpleApp. XAML intellisense works with other libraries that I have written that don't use PRISM. Don't know what I am missing hopefully it's something simple. I am using the latest SL4 build for PRISM change set 42969. Visual Studio 2010 RTM Professional in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

  • WPF TextBlock Binding to DependencyProperty

    - by Bill Campbell
    Hi, I have what I believe to be about one of the most simple cases of attempting to bind a view to a dependencyproperty in the view model. It seems that the initial changes are reflected in the view but other changes to the DP do not update the view's TextBlock. I'm probably just missing something simple but I just can't see what it is. Please take a look... My XAML has a status bar on the bottom of the window. I want to bind to the DP "VRAStatus". <StatusBar x:Name="sbar" Grid.Column="0" Grid.Row="2" Grid.ColumnSpan="2" VerticalAlignment="Bottom" Background="LightBlue" Opacity="0.4" DockPanel.Dock="Bottom" > <StatusBarItem> <TextBlock x:Name="statusBar" Text="{Binding VRAStatus}" /> </StatusBarItem> <StatusBarItem> <Separator Style="{StaticResource StatusBarSeparatorStyle}"/> </StatusBarItem> </StatusBar> My viewmodel has the DP defined: public string VRAStatus { get { return (string)GetValue(VRAStatusProperty); } set { SetValue(VRAStatusProperty, value); } } // Using a DependencyProperty as the backing store for VRAStatus. public static readonly DependencyProperty VRAStatusProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("VRAStatus", typeof(string), typeof(PenskeRouteAssistViewModel),new PropertyMetadata(string.Empty)); Then, in my code I set the DP: VRAStatus = "Test Message..."; Is there something obvious here that I am missing? In my constructor for the viewmodel I set the DP like this: VRAStatus = "Ready"; I never get the Test Message to display. Please Help. thanks in advance! Bill

    Hello, I am using on the client C# where I am converting double values to byte array. I am using java on the server and I am using writeDouble and readDouble to convert double values to byte arrays. The problem is the double values from java at the end are not the double values at the begin giving to c# writeDouble in Java Converts the double argument to a long using the doubleToLongBits method , and then writes that long value to the underlying output stream as an 8-byte quantity, high byte first. DoubleToLongBits Returns a representation of the specified floating-point value according to the IEEE 754 floating-point "double format" bit layout. The Program on the server is waiting of 64-102-112-0-0-0-0-0 from C# to convert it to 1700.0 but he si becoming 0000014415464 from c# after c# converted 1700.0 this is my code in c#: class User { double workingStatus; public void persist() { byte[] dataByte; using (MemoryStream ms = new MemoryStream()) { using (BinaryWriter bw = new BinaryWriter(ms)) { bw.Write(workingStatus); bw.Flush(); bw.Close(); } dataByte = ms.ToArray(); for (int j = 0; j < dataByte.Length; j++) { Console.Write(dataByte[j]); } } public double WorkingStatus { get { return workingStatus; } set { workingStatus = value; } } } class Test { static void Main() { User user = new User(); user.WorkingStatus = 1700.0; user.persist(); } thank you for the help.

Is there somethink wrong with the code or must I do it different in Lazarus/Freepascal? Thanks.

  • Doctrine2 ArrayCollection

    - by boosis
    Ok, I have a User entity as follows <?php class User { /** * @var integer * @Id * @Column(type="integer") * @GeneratedValue */ protected $id; /** * @var \Application\Entity\Url[] * @OneToMany(targetEntity="Url", mappedBy="user", cascade={"persist", "remove"}) */ protected $urls; public function __construct() { $this->urls = new \Doctrine\Common\Collections\ArrayCollection(); } public function addUrl($url) { // This is where I have a problem } } Now, what I want to do is check if the User has already the $url in the $urls ArrayCollection before persisting the $url. Now some of the examples I found says we should do something like if (!$this->getUrls()->contains($url)) { // add url } but this doesn't work as this compares the element values. As the $url doesn't have id value yet, this will always fail and $url will be dublicated. So I'd really appreciate if someone could explain how I can add an element to the ArrayCollection without persisting it and avoiding the duplication? Edit I have managed to achive this via $p = function ($key, $element) use ($url) { if ($element->getUrlHash() == $url->getUrlHash()) { return true; } else { return false; } }; But doesn't this still load all urls and then performs the check? I don't think this is efficient as there might be thousands of urls per user.

    I am using Web Forms MVP to write an DotNetNuke user control. When the 'SubmitContactUs' event is raised in my unit test the presenter attempts to set the 'Message' property on the Modal. However the View.Modal is null in the presenter. Shouldn't the Web Forms MVP framework automatically build a new View.Model object in the presenter? It could be that the 'Arrange' portion of my test is missing something that the presenter needs. Any help would be appreciated. Here is my test: using System; using AthleticHost.ContactUs.Core.Presenters; using AthleticHost.ContactUs.Core.Views; using Xunit; using Moq; namespace AthleticHost.ContactUs.Tests { public class ContactUsPresenterTests { [Fact] public void ContactUsPresenter_Sets_Message_OnSubmit() { // Arrange var view = new Mock<IContactUsView>(); var presenter = new ContactUsPresenter(view.Object); // Act view.Raise(v => v.Load += null, new EventArgs()); view.Raise(v => v.SubmitContactUs += null, new SubmitContactUsEventArgs("Chester", "Tester", "[email protected]", "http://www.test.com", "This is a test of the emergancy broadcast system...")); presenter.ReleaseView(); // Assert Assert.Contains("Chester Tester", view.Object.Model.Message); } } }

  • Generate exe in .Net

    - by rwallace
    In .Net, you can generate byte code in memory, and presumably save the resulting program to a .exe file. To do the first step, I have the following test code adapted from http://www.code-magazine.com/Article.aspx?quickid=0301051 var name = new AssemblyName(); name.Name = "MyAssembly"; var ad = Thread.GetDomain(); var ab = ad.DefineDynamicAssembly(name, AssemblyBuilderAccess.Run); var mb = ab.DefineDynamicModule("MyModule"); var theClass = mb.DefineType("MathOps", TypeAttributes.Public); var retType = typeof(System.Int32); var parms = new Type[2]; parms[0] = typeof(System.Int32); parms[1] = typeof(System.Int32); var meb = theClass.DefineMethod("ReturnSum", MethodAttributes.Public, retType, parms); var gen = meb.GetILGenerator(); gen.Emit(OpCodes.Ldarg_1); gen.Emit(OpCodes.Ldarg_2); gen.Emit(OpCodes.Add_Ovf); gen.Emit(OpCodes.Stloc_0); gen.Emit(OpCodes.Br_S); gen.Emit(OpCodes.Ldloc_0); gen.Emit(OpCodes.Ret); theClass.CreateType(); How do you do the second step, and save the result to a .exe?

  • DropDownListFor and relating my lambda to my ViewModel

    - by Daniel Harvey
    After googling for a while I'm still drawing a blank here. I'm trying to use a ViewModel to pull and provide a dictionary to a drop down list inside a strongly typed View: <%@ Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/Site.Master" Inherits="Notebook.ViewModels.CorporationJoinViewModel" %> ... <%: Html.DropDownListFor(c => c.CorpDictionary.Keys, new SelectList(Model.CorpDictionary, "Value", "Key"))%> I'm getting the error CS1061: 'object' does not contain a definition for 'CorpDictionary' and no extension method 'CorpDictionary' accepting a first argument of type 'object' could be found and the relevant bit of my ViewModel public class CorporationJoinViewModel { DB _db = new DB(); // data context public Dictionary<int, string> CorpDictionary { get { Dictionary<int, string> corporations = new Dictionary<int, string>(); int x = 0; foreach (Corporation corp in _db.Corporations) { corporations.Add(x, corp.name); } return corporations; } } I'll admit i have a pretty magical understanding of how linq is finding my ViewModel object from that lambda, and the error message is making me think it's not. Is my problem the method I'm using to pass the data? What am I missing here?

  • My PreferenceActivity does not show up, even though it is in my manifest file

    - by Charlie
    So I am modifying the Cube live wallpaper example. I have a class that extends PreferenceActivity, and I added the Activity in my manifest file. I keep getting ActivityNotFoundExceptions. Here is my preference class : public class MySettingsActivity extends PreferenceActivity implements SharedPreferences.OnSharedPreferenceChangeListener { @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle bundle) { super.onCreate(bundle); getPreferenceManager().setSharedPreferencesName( ParticleCandy.SHARED_PREFS_NAME); addPreferencesFromResource(R.xml.settings); getPreferenceManager().getSharedPreferences().registerOnSharedPreferenceChangeListener( this); } @Override protected void onResume() { super.onResume(); } @Override protected void onDestroy() { getPreferenceManager().getSharedPreferences().unregisterOnSharedPreferenceChangeListener( this); super.onDestroy(); } public void onSharedPreferenceChanged(SharedPreferences sharedPreferences, String key) { } } And here is my manifest file <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" package="com.pixel.theory.wallpapers.mywallpaper" android:versionCode="1" android:versionName="1.0"> <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name"> <service android:label="@string/app_name" android:name="MyWallpaper" android:permission="android.permission.BIND_WALLPAPER" > <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.service.wallpaper.WallpaperService"> </action> </application> <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="7" /> <uses-feature android:name="android.software.live_wallpaper" /> </manifest> Any ideas why my preferences activity doesn't get read in from the manifest?

    - by Andy Armstrong
    Right. So I have an app widget. It has 4 buttons, one one of the buttons I want it to show me the current location of the user on the map. So - I make a new activity as below: package com.android.driverwidget; import java.util.List; import android.os.Bundle; import com.google.android.maps.MapActivity; import com.google.android.maps.MapController; import com.google.android.maps.MapView; import com.google.android.maps.MyLocationOverlay; import com.google.android.maps.Overlay; public class MyLocation extends MapActivity{ public void onCreate(Bundle icicle) { super.onCreate(icicle); setContentView(R.layout.main); MapView myMapView = (MapView)findViewById(R.id.mapview); MapController mapController = myMapView.getController(); List<Overlay> overlays = myMapView.getOverlays(); MyLocationOverlay myLocationOverlay = new MyLocationOverlay(this, myMapView); overlays.add(myLocationOverlay); myLocationOverlay.enableMyLocation(); } protected boolean isRouteDisplayed() { return false; } } And then I added the appropriate uses library line to the manifest <activity android:name=".MyLocation" android:label="myLocation"> </activity> <uses-library android:name="com.google.android.maps" /> Ok yet - when I run the app the following errors occur, looks like it cannot find the MapActivity class, im running it on the GoogleApps 1.5 instead of normal android 1.5 as well. http://pastebin.com/m3ee8dba2 Somebody plz help me - i am now dying.
