• Conditionally changing MIME type in nginx

  I'm using nginx as a frontend to Rails. All pages are cached as .html files on disk, and nginx serves these files if they exist. I want to send the correct MIME type for feeds (application/rss+xml), but the way I have so far is quite ugly, and I'm wondering if there is a cleaner way. Putting part of the config in a different file is not that readable. Can you spot any bugs in the if conditions? I'm using nginx 0.6.32 (Debian Lenny). I prefer to use the version in APT. Thanks.

• Zabbix Trigger for SELinux (type=AVC) Errors

  I would like to create a trigger in Zabbix to alert me anytime a type=AVC error appears in a CentOS 6 server's /var/log/audit/audit.log file. I've already tried creating a basic log scrape. E.g.: log[/var/log/audit/audit.log,type=AVC,"UTF-8",100] However, it does not work. I believe this is due to the /var/log/audit/audit.log and it's parent folder using the following permissions: drwxr-x---. 2 root root 4096 Apr 20 04:29 . drwxr-xr-x. 13 root root 4096 Apr 14 12:07 .. -rw-------. 1 root root 5948185 Apr 20 15:27 audit.log -r--------. 1 root root 6291566 Apr 20 04:29 audit.log.1 -r--------. 1 root root 6291704 Apr 19 16:56 audit.log.2 -r--------. 1 root root 6291499 Apr 19 05:22 audit.log.3 -r--------. 1 root root 6291552 Apr 18 17:48 audit.log.4 I would prefer not to change the permissions for security reasons. • Server reporting incorrect mime type for css files

  We have a VPS server that we host our websites on. I have written a CMS using CodeIgniter. On one of the interfaces, I am attempting to upload a css file to the system. This worked correctly when we had it hosted on shared hosting. Since we've moved it to the VPS, I am getting an "incorrect filetype" error. It all comes down to the fact that the server is reporting a mime type of text/x-c for the css file rather than text/css. I logged in via shell and ran the following command on an existing valid css file (to make sure it wasn't an issue with either CodeIgniter or with php). file --brief --mime 'filename.css' 2>&1 The server gave me the following in response to my command: text/x-c; charset=us-ascii My question ... is there some sort of server setting that I need to tweak to get the server to correctly identify the css file as text/css? Do I just have to add a mime type for the css files to the server? I found the mime types file (etc/mime.types), and it just hase video types and a couple other that I have no idea what they are. There is nothing in there for css or images or html files. Unless I'm looking in the wrong spot. I'm not a server person, so I'm hoping someone can help me out. Some server specs: Apache/2.2.22 (Unix) php 5.3.13 Server API = CGI/FastCGI the fileinfo php extension appears to be disabled

• permanent NAS-mount in Ubuntu - wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock

  My network drive shows up in the file browser, just like my external usb-harddrive. Moving, running and editing files works. Hovering over it shows smb://lacie-2big/nasdisk . BUT, when I want to save a file, the drive doesn't come up as an option. All I can see is my other places, including my usb-harddrive. I am a complete newbie but I am GUESSING that it has something to do with the mount not being a "real" mount but just a shortcut to the smb location. So I ran the tutorial at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MountWindowsSharesPermanently about how to "mount a network drive permanently". edited my fstab to //LaCie-2big/nasdisk /media/nasmount cifs guest,uid=1000,iocharset=utf8,codepage=unicode,unicode 0 0 and running sudo mount -a gave me the following error: mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on //LaCie-2big/nasdisk, missing codepage or helper program, or other error (for several filesystems (e.g. nfs, cifs) you might need a /sbin/mount. helper program) In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try dmesg | tail or so Now thats a very helpful error message, BUT, before I go any further, I'd be really thankful if one of you could tell me if I'm even in the right ballpark, or if my actual need: to be able to download files (ie torrents) directly to the drive, can be possible as it is already. • Delete cell content in Libre (Open) Office based on the cell value

  I have a huge csv file (tens of thousands of rows) that I need to filter based on different criteria. After trying to find a proper CSV editor, I decided to use LibreOffice Calc. CSVed is great, but it doesn't support neither UTF-8 nor macros for advanced filtering. So, there are 4 columns, 3 of which contain numbers (with decimal numbers) and 1 of which contains text. I'm trying to find a way to delete rows with a macro code. I can achieve the desired behavior with filters too, but it's annoying to type all of the filtering values over and over again and there doesn't seem to be a way to export the filter and us it repeatedly. These rows should be deleted: The ones that don't contain certain words in textual column (column A). There are a few thousand different words used in that column and I want to keep only the rows that contain one of about 30 words in that column. Additionally, the number is the other columns should be bigger than 3.8 (column B), 4.5 (column C) and smaller than 20 (column C). The row-deletion type is "Shift up".   Hello, We have English keyboards. I never saw any other keyboard in my life. I've been wondering for a long time. How do people in Korea, China, Russia, Muslim countries and some European countries where English is less known. Do they have keyboards in their native language? I mean are the keyboard directly manufactured in their native language. Or do they use some kind of keyboard mapping softwares to acheive the task. I've been searching in Google images to have a glance at their computers but didn't find any real key pads for computers/smartphones. If they have some non-English keyboard. Then how would they type web URLs? URLs possible in other languages also? If they have to type English URLs then it also means that they need to know English. I've seen in some movies that they have all their softwares, windows have text in their native language. How do they have some different language? I feel lost & confused. If you have any screenshots / pics of such non-english computer please post. I want to see one.

• fatal error C1084: Cannot read type library file: 'Smegui.tlb': Error loading type library/DLL.

  Hi, I am trying to build an old version of an application which consists of VC++ projects that were written in Visual Studio 2003. My OS is Windows 7 Enterprise (64-bit). When I try and build the solution I get the following errors: error C4772: #import referenced a type from a missing type library; '__missing_type__' used as a placeholder fatal error C1084: Cannot read type library file: 'Smegui.tlb': Error loading type library/DLL. They both complain about the following import statement: #import "Smegui.tlb" no_implementation This is not a case of the file path being incorrect as renaming the Smegui.tlb file causes the compiler to throw another error saying it cannot find the library. Smegui is from another application that this one depends on. I thought perhaps I was missing a dll but there is no such thing as Smegui.dll. All I know about .tlb files is that they are a type library and you can create them from an assembly using tlbexp.exe or regasm.exe (the later also registers the assembly with COM) There is also an Apache Ant build script which uses a custom task to invoke devenv.com to build the projects. This is the same script that the build server originally used to build the application. It gives me the same errors when I try and run it. The strangest thing about this is that I knew it ought to work seeing as it is all freshly checked out from subversion. I tried many different combinations of admin vs user elevation, VS vs Ant build, cleaning, release. I have got it to build successfully about 5 times but the build seems to be non-deterministic. If anyone can shed some light on how this tlb stuff even works or what this error might mean I would greatly appreciate it. Cheers, Steiny

  Hi all: I've been trying to programmatically copy custom content type and its custom columns from one web to another for some time now, and every time I get some sort of error or exception. After yet more tries, I received another strange and cryptic exception from Sharepoint after clicking onto a newly copied custom column in a custom content type. I checked the logs, and this is what I got: Failed to find the content type schema for ct-1033-0x1000blahblahblahcontenttypeId while caching feature data. Unknown SPRequest error occurred. More informationL 0x8000ffff Unable to locate the xml-definition for CType with SPContentTypeId '0x0100MorecontenttypeId', exception: Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: Catastrophic failure(Exception from HRESULT: 0x8000FFFF (E_UNEXPECTED)) ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x8000FFFF): Catastrophic failure... ... at Microsoft.SharePoint.Library.SPRequestInternalClass.GetGlobalContentTypeXml(String bstrUrl, Int32 type, UInt 32 lcid, Object varIdBytes... It failed to find quite a few content type schema. I'm confused with what Sharepoint is trying to do here, and why a simple process of copying a custom content type from one web to another just wouldn't work in contrast to the information found on the web e.g. this. I can do the same calculations accurately on C# using Decimal type. I am looking for a method to do accurate calculations in VB6.0 and I couldn't find a Decimal type in VB6.0. • Changing size of content in HorizontalScrollView when phone is rotated by overriding onConfiguration

  Hello I have a problem with resizing content in a HorizontalScrollView when the phone is rotated. I'm overriding onConfigurationChanged in my activity containing the HorizontalScrollView, since I want to handle the resizing myself. However, I'm having great problem finding where i should put the resizing of the content. The HorizontalScrollView it self has FILL_PARENT as width and a fixed height. The idea is that it should always fill the screen width-wise, while having several cells of content, each as wide as the HorizontalScrollView itself. The content in my HorizontalScrollView consists of one LinearLayout (let's call it wrapperLayout) with several LinearLayouts inside it. When the phone rotates I simply want to change the width of all the LinearLayouts inside the wrapperLayout. This is easy to do and works great when I test the resizing code by putting it in onInterceptTouchEvent(MotionEvent ev), that is the views are resized just as they are supposed to when I touch the HorizontalScrollView. The difficulty appears when I try to find a good spot to execute resizing code, so that the resizing happens automatically when the phone is rotated. I have tried all possible combinations of requestLayout, onSizeChanged, onLayout, onConfigurationChanged and a few others and varying their calls to super (if any) before and after the resizing code. I can not make this work (the views are not resized even though the resize code is executed) and it is really frustrating. I've done a lot of logging to make sure the HorizonalScrollView really has changed width before calling my resize code but to no avail. Does anyone have any clue as to what is going on? What methods are called and in what order when I handle the onConfigurationChanged by myself like this? Thanks in advance

  GUID is not an official data type in database. In our existing SQL Server design, the Uniqueidentifier type is used for GUID value. Now we are switching to Sybase database. Should we use varchar(36) to replace that Uniqueidentifier type? I am still confused by GUID. I was told GUID is 16 bytes long but its character string is 36 characters in length. I must missed something.

• Passing binary blob through an Android content provider

  I have a content provider that is custom to my set of Android applications, and one of the things it needs to expose is a small (20-30k) byte array. The uri for these blobs looks like content://my.authority/blob/# where # is the row number; the resulting cursor has the standard _id column and a data column. I'm using a MatrixCursor in the provider's query method: byte[] byteData = getMyByteData(); MatrixCursor mc = new MatrixCursor(COLUMNS); mc.addRow(new Object[] { id, byteData }); Later, in the application consuming the data, I do Cursor c = managedQuery(uri, null, null, null, null); c.moveToFirst(); byte[] data = c.getBlob(c.getColumnIndexOrThrow("data")); However, data does not contain the contents of my original byte array; rather, it contains something like "[B@435cc518", which looks more like the address of the array than the contents. I tried wrapping the byte array in an implementation of java.sql.Blob, figuring that it might be looking for that since the content provider subsystem was written to be easy to use with SQLite, but it didn't help. Has anyone gotten this to work? If the data was in the file system, there are methods in ContentProvider that I could use to provide a marshalled InputStream to the client, but the data I'm trying to send back lives as a resource in the content provider's APK.

  I've written an app that I use as an agent to query data from a database and automatically load it into my distributed web cache. I do this by specifying an sql query and a type in a configuration. The specific entity type I'm having an issue with looks like this: public class FooCount { [Column(Name = "foo_id")] public Int32 FooId { get; set; } [Column(Name = "count")] public Int32 Count { get; set; } } The SQL query looks like this: select foo_id as foo_id, sum(count) as [count] from foo_aggregates group by foo_id order by foo_id For some reason, when the query is executed, the "Count" property ends up populated, but not the "FooId" property. I tried running the query myself, and the correct column names are returned, and the column names match up with what I've specified in my mapping attributes. Help!

  I am writing a small console application in C# that references a custom assembly that implements custom .net Profile provider. I have added the following sections to my app.config file which references the custom class and assembly. <system.web> <profile defaultProvider="MyCompanyProfileProvider" inherits="MyCompany.Web.User.GenericProfile" automaticSaveEnabled="false"> <providers> <clear/> <add name="MyCompanyProfileProvider" connectionStringName="defaultDatabase" applicationName="/myApplication" type="MyCompany.Web.ProfileProvider, MyCompany.Web"/> </providers> <properties> <add name="JobRoleId" type="System.Int32"/> <add name="LastCompetencyId" type="System.Int32" defaultValue="0"/> <add name="MixSettings" type="System.Xml.XmlDocument"/> </properties> </profile></system.web> However when I run the app in debug mode I get the following error as if it is looking in the System.Web assembly rather than one specified in the app.config file. Could not load type 'MyCompany.Web.User.GenericProfile' from assembly 'System.Web, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a'. I have a local web app that also uses the assembly and custom Profile provider and that work without any problems. I have checked the referenced assembly is being copied to the output directory. Any ideas??

  I was wondering if data types in a a literal "create table" statement, executed over ODBC, are replaced with their database specific counterparts (platform is Windows/.Net/C#). I cannot find this feature in the ODBC docs, and there seems to be no list of literal "ODBC data types". However, I know that this works for Oracle, SQL Server and Access; the following statement is executed correctly, although the type LONGVARBINARY is no native type in all of these systems: CREATE TABLE (MYCOLUMN LONGVARBINARY) However, e.g. for Oracle the mapped native type depends on the used ODBC driver. Is this an undocumented feature? Is there a list of supported type names anywhere? Thanks!

• Java Generics: Dealing with an intermediate unknown type

  I am trying to figure out a way to deal with a particular problem in a type safe manner, or to put it more specifically without any explicit casts. I have a class that takes in a generic request and returns a generic response like such: public class RetrievalProcessor<Req extends Request, Resp> implements RequestProcessor<Req, Resp>{ private Dao<Req> dao; private RawResponseTransformer<Resp> transformer; @Override public Resp process(Req request) { return transformer.transformResponse(dao.retrieveRawResponse(request)); } } My problem is the following. My Dao object can be many different things REST, JDBC, some other proprietary object. I can't be certain of the type of object that the Dao will return. I do know the type of object my caller would like and that is the Resp type on the generic, and the job of the RawResponseTransformer is to transform that Dao response into something that the caller can consume. The problem I have is I can't figure out a way that feels clean to do that. I have considered putting the intermediate type as part of the definition of the class, but it doesn't seem like the caller should know, or really care, what the intermediate form is. Hoping someone might have a good clean idea for handling this.

• Help with inner content box margins/padding

  I am working on a layout for a new site, and I'm having some trouble achieving what I want with the CSS. First of all, I want everything to always stay within the view of the current browser window, with scroll being in my content and not the browser itself. I have an outermost DIV which acts as my "wrapper" for the site displayed centered, with a set width, and having 100% height of the bowser window. Inside of this I place a header and all of this works as intended in all interested browsers. However, once I place my actual content DIV inside this "wrapper" I am unable to define it to be the size I want. If I simply give it margins or padding to make up for the header I have absolutely positioned, the content will overflow and I can't set scroll. And if I try to set the size directly, there are no values I can put in that will work since the margins/padding will add to the size and it will now be bigger than the current browser window, and overflow. Are there any styles people can think of I can use on the wrapper/content DIV(s) to get the desired look? Here is a diagram illustrating the look I want.

  I am trying out a little reflection and have a question on how the cast the result object to an IList.
