Nginx https rewrite turns POST to GET

My proxy server runs on ip A and this is how people access my web service. The nginx configuration will redirect to a virtual machine on ip B. Everything that hits the public IP will hit 443 because of the rewrite. Internally, we are forwarding to 80 on the virtual machine. But when I run a python script such as the one below to test our configuration import requests data = {'username': '....', 'password': '.....'} url = 'http://IP_A/api/service/signup' res = requests.post(url, data=data, verify=False) print res print res.json print res.status_code print res.headers I am getting a 405 Method Not Allowed. In nginx we found that when it hit the internal server, the internal nginx was getting a GET request, even though in the original header we did a POST (this was shown in the Python script). So it seems like rewrite has problem. Any idea how to fix this? When I commented out the rewrite, it hits 80 for sure, and it went through. Since rewrite was able to talk to our internal server, so rewrite itself has no issue. It's just the rewrite dropped POST to GET. Thank you! (This will also be asked on Nginx forum because this is a critical blocker...)

Git push from post-receive

I have two servers, let's call them first and second. First one is where the real development is done, and second one should be the replica. What I would like to do is put "git push" in post-receive, but there is one problem. Post-receive is executed as the user doing git push to first server, so I can't chmod 600 ssh key with no pass. What is the best practice for this? Thanx!

Hey! So I'm trying to code something on wordpress for the first time but the validator doesn't seem to like me. Mysteriously empty $_POST array

Hi all! I have the following HTML/PHP page: <?php if(empty($_SERVER['CONTENT_TYPE'])) { $type = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"; $_SERVER['CONTENT_TYPE'] = $type; } echo "<pre>"; var_dump($_POST); var_dump(file_get_contents("php://input")); echo "</pre>"; ?> <form method="post" action="test.php"> <input type="text" name="test[1]" /> <input type="text" name="test[2]" /> <input type="text" name="test[3]" /> <input type="submit" name="action" value="Go" /> </form> As you can see, the form will submit and the expected output is a POST array with one array in it containing the filled in values and one entry "action" with the value "Go" (the button). However, no matter what values I enter in the fields; the result is always: array(2) { ["test"]=> string(0) "" ["action"]=> string(2) "Go" } string(16) "test=&action=Go&" Somehow, the array named test is emptied, the "action" variable does make it through. I've used the Live HTTP Headers extension for Firefox to check whether the POST fields get submitted, and they do. The relevant information from Live HTTP Headers (with a, b and c filled in as values in the textboxes): Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded Content-Length: 51 test%5B1%5D=a&test%5B2%5D=b&test%5B3%5D=c&action=Go Does anybody have any idea as to why this is happening? I'm freaking out on this one, it has cost me so much time already...

post xml to Spring REST server returns Unsupported Media Type

I'm trying to create a simple spring based webservice that supports a "post" with xml content. Here is an example service call: HttpPost post = new HttpPost(uri); post.addHeader("Accept", "application/xml"); post.addHeader("Content-Type", "application/xml"); StringEntity entity = new StringEntity(request, "UTF-8"); entity.setContentType("application/xml"); post.setEntity(entity); It seems to me that I am setting the correct media type everywhere possible. Anyone have an ideas?

How can you inject an asp.net (mvc2) custom membership provider using Ninject?

OK, so I've been working on this for hours. I've found a couple of posts here, but nothing that actually resolves the problem. So, let me try it again... I have an MVC2 app using Ninject and a custom membership provider. If I try and inject the provider using the ctor, I get an error: 'No parameterless constructor defined for this object.' public class MyMembershipProvider : MembershipProvider { IMyRepository _repository; public MyMembershipProvider(IMyRepository repository) { _repository = repository; } I've also been playing around with factories and Initialize(), but everything is coming up blanks. Any thoughts/examples?

Wordpress SQL Select Multiple Meta Values / Meta Keys / Custom Fields

Why is my WCF RIA Services custom object deserializing with an extra list member?

I have been developing a Silverlight WCF RIA Services application dealing with mock financial transactions. To more efficiently send summary data to the client without going overboard with serialized entities I have created a summary class that isn’t in my EDM, and figured out how to serialize and send it over the wire to the SL client using DataContract() and DataMember(). Everything seemed to be working out great, until I tried to bind controls to a list inside my custom object. The list seems to always get deserialized with an extra, almost empty entity in it that I don’t know how to get rid of. So, here are some of the pieces. Does it have anything to do with the other list of Transaction entities being serialized as part of the EconomicsSummary class (TotalAccountHistory)? Do I need to decorate the EconomicsSummary class members a little more/differently? -Second, where are the peculiar values coming from on that extra entity? PRE-POSTING UPDATE 1: I did a little checking, it looks like that last entry is the first one in the TotalAccountHistory list. Do I need to do something with CollectionDataContract()? PRE-POSTING UPDATE 2: I fixed one bug in TotalAccountHistory, since the objects weren’t coming from the database their keys weren’t unique. So I set the keys on the Transaction entities inside TotalAccountHistory to be unique and guess what? Now, after deserialization RecentTransactions contains all its original items, plus every item in TotalAccountHistory. Get Instance from StructureMap by Type Name

Is there any way to request an instance from the StructureMap ObjectFactory by the string name of the type? For example, it would be nice to do something like this: var thing = ObjectFactory.GetInstance("Thing"); The use case here is a messaging scenario in which the message is very generic and contains only the name of a task. The handler receives the message, gets the task name from the message and retrieves the Type of task runner from a configuration database. StructureMap scans all the assemblies in a directory and one of them will contain the Type returned from the config database which then needs to be instantiated. The other possibility is to grab a Type instance by doing the following: var type = Type.GetType("Thing"); But the problem there is the assembly may or may/not be loaded in the AppDomain so that reflection call isn't always possible.

Can I to achieve the above, apply different control templates to the same custom control? That is define more than one control template for a custom control? If not, any clues as to how I can do this, without have as many custom/user controls as there are states?

Charset and POST request

Hi All! I have a Rails 2.3.5 application that is working fine with UTF-8 and international characters. Now I have made some integration to a payment gateway where I POST some data, wait a while and get a POST back. The problem is that when I get that post back the international characters are broken. Instead of "sørensen" I get: "sÃ¸rensen". If I do an iconv -fISO-8859-1 -tUTF8 it gets correctly converted to the former (I do that from a OS X command prompt). I have examined the POST request with logger.info(request.headers.inspect) in my controller and I can see that no charset parameter is given. As far as I can see the POST from the gateway must be UTF8 since one character (ø) gets translated to two (Ã¸). So why does Rails think that the POST is ISO-8859-1? I know that one solution is to simply convert the params-hash with Iconv in the controller but I would like to know what is happening. Thanks in advance. Regards, Jacob

VS2008: Add custom build rule to a Property Sheet (vsprops)?

I'm using the CUDA .rules file which comes with the CUDA SDK for custom build steps in my project. To save on property duplication I'd like to define the properties of the CUDA rule in a .vsprops file. For some reason, the CUDA rule branch of the properties tree does not show under any of my property sheets, only under the main configurations sheets. I tried editing the .vsprops with a text edition and add the section by hand but there is no change it still does't show when in visual studio. Is there a way to do this?

JSF Custom EL function works only on the first load of the page.

I created a ( JSP-based) custom EL function to use in the rendered tag. The function will return a boolean to decide if a page component needs to be rendered on a page or not. I import it onto the jsp page using <%@ taglib uri = "/WEB-INF/mine.tld" prefix = "g" %. Everything works perfect on the first load of the jsp page. Once a button is clicked, the form submits and then I am getting errors like 'No ClassLoaders found for: the class which implements my EL function' and 'Function not found'. What is going on here? What will be a fix?

Getting "Comment post not allowed (400)" when using Django Comments

I'm going through a Django book and I seem to be stuck. The code base used in the book is .96 and I'm using 1.0 for my Django install. The portion I'm stuck at is related to Django comments (django.contrib.comments). When I submit my comments I get "Comment post not allowed (400) Why: Missing content_type or object_pk field". I've found the Django documentation to be a bit lacking in this area and I'm hoping to get some help. The comment box is displayed just fine, it's when I submit the comment that I get the above error (or security warning as it truly appears). The use case is simple: for logging purposes, I want to determine the underlying type name of an entity that might be wrapped by a dynamic proxy without having any references to NHibernate or Castle (which know about the proxy) For example, I might have a CatProxYadaYada, but I'm interested in Cat. I can define InArgument inside all these custom activities and bind the workflow arguments to custom activity arguments but I am not comfortable with this solution. What is the best way to access workflow level argument and variable declarations from custom activities. Can I get them from ActivityContext? Thanks.

Hi, Please let me know that how can I create a custom render extension in SSRS 2008. I have created it in SSRS 2005, but when I try using the same code in SQL Serever 2008, it does not work. The IRenderingExtension interface doesnot seem to be compatible with 2008. WCF: parameters handled in custom channel not present in generated WSDL.

I have some special parameters to all my wcf service methods that are handled inside a custom channel and are not exposed in the service method parameter list. This works fine for json/xml endpoints, but the I don't know how to use a SOAP endpoint with this setup because the generated WSDL doesn't include fields that are not in the service call parameter list. Is there a way I can centralize the handling of the special parameters that apply to all service methods (authentication, locale and other contextual information) and provide a SOAP endpoint that Just Works (tm)? Hand editing wsdl files is not an option.

I have a class public class A<T> { public static string B(T obj) { return TransformThisObjectToAString(obj); } } I can call the static function like this just fine on a known/specified type: string s= A<KnownType>.B(objectOfKnownType); How do I make this call, if I don't know T beforehand, rather I have a variable of type Type that holds the type. If I do this: Type t= typeof(string); string s= A<t>.B(someStringObject); I get this compiler error: Cannot implicitly convert type 't' to 'object'

Why my custom CStatic derived control does not receive WM_SIZE message?

Hello everyone! I'm currently developing a custom control that derives from CStatic MFC class (Smart Device C++ project). I have created the control class using VC++ MFC class wizard, selecting CStatic class as its base class. I have used Class View to add OnSize event handler for my control class (I have selected WM_SIZE message from messages list), and new OnSize method has been created by Visual Studio along with ON_WM_SIZE() statement between BEGIN_MESSAGE_MAP(...) and END_MESSAGE_MAP(). The problem is that my control does not receive WM_SIZE thus OnSize method is never called - I used MoveWindow to change size of my control - its size changes as I have seen on dialog window but WM_SIZE message is never being sent. When I send WM_SIZE through SendMessage or PostMessage function - the control OnSize method is called normally. What do I wrong? I've read MSDN docs about CStatic control and there is no information that WM_SIZE message is never sent to a static control window. Sorry for my bad English.

WordPress Get 1 attachment per post from X category outside the loop

Hey, Hope someone can help with this. What I want is to display 5 attachments but only 1 attachment from each post from a specific category in the sidebar, which links to the posts permalink. I'm using the following code so far which gets all attachments from all posts, but some posts have more than 1 attachment and I just want to show the first one, and link it to the permalink of the post. Writing a custom iterator -- what to do if you're at the end of the array?

I'm writing a custom iterator for a Matrix class, and I want to implement the increment method, which gets called when the iterator is incremented: void MatrixIterator::increment() { // go to the next element } Suppose the iterator has been incremented too many times and now points to past the end of the matrix (i.e. past the one-past-the-end point). What is the best practice for this situation? Should I catch this with an assert, or should I just say it's the user's responsibility to keep track of where the iterator is pointing and it's none of my business?
