    My site has an iFrame that displays content from and second site. I don't control the second site. When a user clicks on a link in the iFrame, I want it to redirect the entire page, not just the iFrame. I've seen solutions for doing this from the iFrame, but I need to do it solely from the parent. I'd prefer to do it in the code behind, but a javascript solution would be acceptable.

I'd like to change this page where after you view a product if you click "back" on your browser it'll load the cache instead of forcing the user to search again. How can I achieve this?     Being unable to reproduce a given result. (either because it's wrong or because I was doing something wrong) I was asking myself if it would be easy to just write a small program which takes all the constants and given number and permutes it with a possible operators (* / - + exp(..)) etc) until the result is found. Permutations of n distinct objects with repetition allowed is n^r. At least as long as r is small I think you should be able to do this. I wonder if anybody did something similar here..

    If you take an array and do the following: arr = []; arr[100] = 1; The length will be 101, which makes sense due to 0-99 being set as undefined Now if we sort that array: arr.sort() it will look like this: [1, undefined x100] since keys are not preserved. However, the length is still 101, since the undefined have all been moved to the end, instead of removed. Is this behavior intentional and if so: is there a built-in function that removes undefined and recalculates and why is it intentional? I am not asking how to write my own function to recalculate length. A sorted array's length can easily be forced with for (x = 0; arr[x] != undefined; x++);arr.length = x;

    In C++, you can do the following: class base_class { public: virtual void do_something() = 0; }; class derived_class : public base_class { private: virtual void do_something() { std::cout << "do_something() called"; } }; The derived_class overrides the method do_something() and makes it private. The effect is, that the only way to call this method is like this: base_class *object = new derived_class(); object->do_something(); If you declare the object as of type derived_class, you can't call the method because it's private: derived_class *object = new derived_class(); object->do_something(); // --> error C2248: '::derived_class::do_something' : cannot access private member declared in class '::derived_class' I think this is quite nice, because if you create an abstract class that is used as an interface, you can make sure that nobody accidentally declares a field as the concrete type, but always uses the interface class. Since in C# / .NET in general, you aren't allowed to narrow the access from public to private when overriding a method, is there a way to achieve a similar effect here?

  • How can I email a vCard to users who are unable to download it?

    I have created vCards for the people in my business, and they are great for users on standard browsers; however, users browsing on a mobile device (notably iPhone) are unable to download and view my vCard. Is there a service that I can direct them to that will allow them to receive an email containing my vCard, or is there a simple way I can set this up myself? I am running my site on WordPress, and initial attempts have failed spectacularly. I'd like for them to be given the option to perform either action, but have the predominant action more prominently visible (probably via user agent detection). Something along the lines of: It looks like you're on an iPhone! It's a bummer they can't download vCards, but if you enter your email address, we'll wrap one up and send it your way! Don't worry, we won't send you junk email. Heck, we don't even save your email address! [email protected] Think you've got it all figured out? Fine, download the vCard instead! If you know of a service or simple-to-implement PHP library (or WordPress plug-in), please let me know! If not, let me know what the best solution to this problem is!

    I got a Brother printer MFC class. The brother website only provides 32-bit drivers but I installed 64-bit Ubuntu. It says I need to install "ia32-libs" or "lib32stdc++" to install the 32-bit drivers onto 64-bit Ubuntu. Elsewhere I've read that I don't need to install these packages, I can just use --force-all when installing, but I don't know of the accuracy of this information. My questions: 1) do I HAVE to install "ia32-libs" or "lib32stdc++" or can I use --force-all to make 32-bit drivers install on 64-bit ubuntu? 2) if I do have to install "ia32-libs" or "lib32stdc++", which should I install? Which is better, which is recommended by ubuntu experts?

    I'm making a 2d shooter ala Geometry Wars. I've got my own simple physics at work driving the background grid and all my entities. To move anything in the world I apply a Vector2d force to it. The 'engine' calculates the resulting acceleration and therefore the velocity. I am trying to port some code I found which implements the classic 'Boids' flocking algorithm, but the code I have works by calculating the Boids' velocities directly, so If i use it as is, it bypasses my physics engine. How I can translate the velocity vectors into force vectors that I can apply to the Boids and which will result in the proper velocities via my physics engine.

  • What is the "don't force full gpu scalling" configuration in the newest Nvida driver settings?

    I have a Zotac Ion board on a computer running Linux ad I had the driver version 295.xx. I was trying to run a 1080 video on XBMC and, because playback was a bit sluggish, part of my (unsuccessful) attempt at making it run smoothly was to upgrade the Nvidia driver. The problem is that the computer is connected by HDMI to a Pioneer A/V system - which in turn is connected to the TV (also through HDMI). When I created this set up I didn't get any image on my tv until I Unchecked "force full gpu scaling" in "Flat Panel Scaling". After upgrading the Nvidia driver I no longer have image. Upon investigating, I saw on the release changelog: Removed Flat Panel Scaling configurability in nvidia-settings. Any desired scaling can be configured through the new "ViewPortIn" and "ViewPortOut" MetaMode attributes. I know very little about this, however, so I'm lost. What would the correct configuration be with these new ViewPortIn/Out options to achieve the same result as "unchecking force full gpu scalling"?

The basic architecture is this: Ping an external API to get back a JSON object Work client-side with that object, and eventually have a "download me" link This link sends the data to my server, which processes it and sends it back with a mime type application/json, which (should) prompt the user to download the file locally. I'm receiving the JSON string and serializing it, which is great. I'm missing two things: The Actual Questions What do I need to do to get the same prompt-to-download behavior that I get when I visit the page in a browser (much simpler) How do I access, server-side, the json object being sent to the server to serialize it? I don't know what index it is in the GET array (silly, I know, but I've tried almost everything)

    Want to look over a new book, or buy it immediately in ebook format?  Here’s how you can preview and purchase most new books from your PC the easy way. Most new books, including almost all New York Times Bestsellers, are available in ebook format from Amazon’s Kindle store.  The Kindle store also includes numerous free ebooks, including out-of-print classics and a surprising amount of recent books.  With the free Kindle for PC reader, you can read any of these ebooks without having to purchase a Kindle device. Preview Ebooks Before you Purchase Sometimes, it can be hard to know if you want to purchase a new book without reading some of it first.  With Kindle for PC, however, you can download a sample of any ebook available for free.  The sample usually includes the table of contents, forward or introduction, and often part or all of the first chapter. To get an ebook sample, find the book you want in the Kindle store (link below). Now, under the Try it free box, select the correct computer or device to send the sample to, and click Send Sample now. Amazon will thank you for your order, even though this is only a free preview.  Click the Go to Kindle for PC button to open Kindle and read your ebook preview.   Or, if Kindle is already running, press the Refresh button in the top right corner to check for new ebooks and previews. Kindle will synchronize and download the previews you selected. Download Free Books for Kindle The Kindle Store has an amazing amount of free ebooks.  Some free books may only be free for a limited time as a promotion, while others, such as old classics, may always be free.  Either which way, once you download it, you can keep it forever. When you find a free ebook you want, select the Kindle or PC you want to download it to and click “Buy now with 1-Click”.  Notice that this book shows it’s price is $0.00, but the button still says Buy now.  Rest assured, if the book’s price show up as $0.00, you will not be charged anything for downloading it. Your ebook will download as usual after your next refresh.  Note that you can still download the sample first if you want, but since the book is free, just download the whole thing and delete it if you don’t want it. Redownload your Purchased or Free Books If you install Kindle on a new PC or delete a book from your library, you can always re-download it from your Amazon account.  Browse to the Manage your Kindle page on Amazon (link below) sign in with your Amazon account, and scroll down to the list of your purchased content. Select the book you wish to download, then choose the Kindle or PC you want to download it to and press Go. Note: There is a “Delete this title” button right below this.  If you press the Delete button, you will not ever be able to re-download it. Or, you can download the book directly from the Archived Items tab in Kindle on your other PC. And, if you have your Kindle content on multiple computers, your reading will be synced via Whispersync.  You can start reading on your desktop, and then resume where you left off from your laptop. For example, download clip 01.avi (high priority) clip 02.avi (normal priority) clip 03.avi (low priority) clip 04.avi (low) clip 05.avi (low) then when clip 01.avi is done, it will automatically make it: clip 01.avi (high priority) clip 02.avi (high priority) clip 03.avi (normal priority) clip 04.avi (low priority) clip 05.avi (low) this can be useful when download *.rar as well, since download clip.rar, and then clip.r00, r01, r02, in sequence can allow previewing the file by using RAR to recompose the file (even though incomplete file, but will allow previewing). Update: will making all files active still considered a bad use of BT?

Basically, except for last minute bugfixes, the version of Ubuntu 10.10 you can download today is identical to the version of Ubuntu 10.10 you can download on the 10th when it gets released. If you downloaded and installed Ubuntu 10.10 today, you would: help find glaring issues for last minute fixing help defray the network load on October 10th see Ubuntu 10.10 in action without waiting Those sound like pretty strong arguments... to me, and indeed I've been using Ubuntu 10.10 for a month now roughly. However, most people prefer to make the jump with everybody else on release day. What are the rational reasons for that?
