  • Scroll the entire page with with UITableView that doesn't take up the entire screen

    - by KJF
The only UITableViews I have worked with thus far are sized to fill the entire page. I'm trying to create a page in my app where I will have an image and a label on the top of the page followed by a UITableView to hold comments below it. Something like this springs to mind: http://www.inquisitr.com/wp-content/fbb.jpg My problem is if I add a UITableView below the image and label, when I scroll the tableview then only the UITableView cells scroll. Not the entire page. How would I go about making the entire page scroll so that the label and image scroll off the page and more table cells appear? Thanks.

  • Page Titles, Descriptions and Keywords Are Important

Going back a few years keywords were very important to a website as the major search engines used them to define what your website was all about. Many website owners and designers picked up on this and used many keywords within the site structure; however this was quickly abused with many sites having hundreds of keywords not even relevant to their content.

  • Trailing dots in url result in empty 404 page on IIS

    - by Peter Hahndorf
I have an ASP.NET site on IIS8, but IIS7.5 behaves exactly the same. When I enter a URL like: mysite.com/foo/bar.. I get the following error with a '500 Internal Server Error' status code: even though I have custom error pages set up for 500 and 404 and I don't see anything wrong with my custom error page. In my web.config system.web node I have the following: <customErrors mode="On"> <error statusCode="404" redirect="/404.aspx" /> </customErrors> If I remove that section, I get a 404.0 response back but the page itself is blank. In web.config system.webServer I have: <httpErrors errorMode="DetailedLocalOnly"> <remove statusCode="404" subStatusCode="-1" /> <error statusCode="404" prefixLanguageFilePath="" path="404.html" responseMode="File" /> </httpErrors> But whether that is there or not, I get the same blank 404.0 page rather than my expected custom error page, or at least an internal IIS message. So first of all why is the asp.net handler picking up a request for '..' (also works with one or more trailing dots) If I remove the following handler from applicacationHost.config: <add name="ExtensionlessUrlHandler-Integrated-4.0" path="*." verb="GET,HEAD,POST,DEBUG" type="System.Web.Handlers.TransferRequestHandler" preCondition="integratedMode,runtimeVersionv4.0" responseBufferLimit="0" /> I get my expected custom 404 page, but of course removing that handler breaks routing in asp.net among other things. Looking at the failure trace I see: Windows Authentication is disabled for the site, so why is that module even in the request pipeline? For now my fix is to use the URL Rewrite module with the following rule: <rewrite> <rules> <rule name="Trailing Dots" stopProcessing="true"> <match url="\.+$" /> <action type="Rewrite" url="/404.html" appendQueryString="false" /> </rule> </rules> </rewrite> This works okay, but I wonder why IIS/ASP.NET behaves this way?

  • IE and Google Chrome timeout on an IIS6 hosted SSL page that Firefox handles well

    - by Thomas
Ok, here's the scenario: Up until a few weeks ago, none of us noticed anything wrong with the corporate website. People were using it without complaint. Then, a client complained that a specific page on the site was timing out for him, and only when he committed a POST action on a form filled with data. I checked it out, and it timed out for me, too. But, it only timed out in Google Chrome and IE, not in Firefox. Additionally, the same page, on the same server, but served from a different domain name (one not under the protection of SSL, either) does not time out under any browser. To clarify: https://www.mysite.com/changes.php times out on POST, but the same with http works fine. That distinction (SSL vs. Non-SSL) seems to be important, as nothing else has changed. Our certificate is valid, and Firefox detects no errors thrown by the page. I've looked at the Request and Response headers from the page, and they all follow the correct formats. Then, after wandering through the site, I noticed a few other things. Both IE and Chrome will frequently time out on any page that is PHP-based. They never time out on static images or html files. I've looked at the site from a variety of different servers, my home and work workstations, and my netbook. Because of that, I've discounted a viral infection, as I highly doubt a virus is going to hit every one of the machines to which I have access in exactly the same manner. My setup is: Server: Win2k3, II6, PHP 5.2.9-1. Clients: IE7, IE8, Chrome (regular and dev channel): Frequent timeouts on PHP pages. Firefox 2, Firefox 3: No timeouts. Firebug shows no errors or even lengthy periods serving the pages. I've spent 2 days searching for any tech knowledge that I can find, and my search parameters are all too general. Everyone has problems loading SSL pages in IE and Chrome for a wide variety of reasons. The infrequent nature of the timeouts and the fact that there are no errors being reported anywhere is starting to drive me insane. Does anyone have any insight on a problem like this?

  • Android: Custom view based on layout: how?

    - by Peterdk
I am building a Android app and I am a bit struggling with custom Views. I would like to have a reusable View that consist of a few standard layout elements. Let's say a relativelayout with some buttons in it. How should I proceed. Should I create a custom view class that extends RelativeLayout and programmaticly add those buttons? I would think that's a bit overkill? What's the way to do it properly in Android?

  • C# - Layout problem on Windows XP professional

    - by Rakib Hasan
I am developing a C# application with .NET Framework 2.0. The problem is, that on my client's PC, the controls get expanded, layout changes (positions of the controls gets changed), sometimes buttons get missed entirely. It happens even on Forms with 2-3 TextBoxes, 2-3 Buttons and some Labels. I tried a lot of investigations. I tried to show a message in the form's resize event. But it doesn't get called. After digging a bit more, it seemed that in Designer.cs file even though ResumeLayout (false) is being called for the form, but this causes the the expansion/disposition of the controls. My Client is using Windows XP professional on his Dell laptop. He is able to reproduce the issue on other laptops with Windows XP professional. But not in other OSes (like Windows XP Home or Windows Vista). In my desktop with Windows XP professional, it is not reproducible. How can this issue be resolved?

  • Keyboard with normal layout just without numpad? [closed]

    - by Pla
Do you know any keyboard that does not have a numpad and, at the same time, is not a compact keyboard? I type a lot and I enjoy using standard full sized keyboards. I am annoyed by the presence of the numpad. I've never used it; it just wastes desktop space! All I could find are (even more annoying) compact keyboards. Sadly those keyboards are so compact that cram the arrow keys and the page up/down keys in a very little space. So, does anyone know a keyboard with a normal layout but without the numpad?

  • How do I gain Control of a row in Tabular Layout in Oracle

    - by DotNetDan
This might be simple but I am new to Oracle. I am using Oracle 10g and have a form that lists our information from a linked table in a tabular Layout. The last column of data is a "list Item" item type that has the Element list of Enabled (T) and Disabled (F). What I need is when a user changes this dropdown, to disabled, I want ONLY that row to have some of the columns be disabled and not the entire column. This is also assuming on load of the form, it will disable and enable rows of data depending on what values are being pulled from the EnabledDisabled column in the database. Thanks for the help!

  • Ruby erb template- try to change layout- get error

    - by nigel curruthers
    Hi there! I'm working my way through adapting a template I have been given that is basically a list of products for sale. I want to change it from a top-down list into a table layout. I want to end up with something as follows- <div id= 'ladiesproducts'> <% ladies_products = hosting_products.find_all do |product| product.name.match("ladies") end %> <table><tbody> <% [ladies_products].each do | slice | %> <tr> <% slice.each do | product | %> <td> <h4><%= product.name.html %></h4> <p><%= product.description %></p> <% other parts go here %> </td> <% end %> </tr> <% end %> </tbody></table> </div> This works fine for the layout that I am trying to achieve. The problem I have is when I paste back the <% other parts go here % part of the code. I get an internal error message on the page. I am completely new to Ruby so am just bumbling my way through this really. I have a hunch that I'm neglecting something that is probably very simple. The <% other parts go here %> code is as follows: <input type='hidden' name='base_renewal_period-<%= i %>' value="<%= product.base_renewal_period %>" /> <input type='hidden' name='quoted_unit_price-<%= i %>' value="<%= billing.price(product.unit_price) %>" /> <p><input type='radio' name='add-product' value='<%= product.specific_type.html %>:<%= i %>:base_renewal_period,quoted_unit_price,domain' /><%= billing.currency_symbol.html %><%= billing.price(product.unit_price, :use_tax_prefs) %> <% if product.base_renewal_period != 'never' %> every <%= product.unit_period.to_s_short.html %> <% end %> <% if product.setup_fee != 0 %> plus a one off fee of <%= billing.currency_symbol.html %><%= sprintf("%.2f", if billing.include_tax? then billing.price(product.setup_fee) else product.setup_fee end) %> <% end %> <% if product.has_free_products? %> <br /> includes free domains <% product.free_products_list.each do | free_product | %> <%= free_product["free_name"] %> <% end %> <% end %> * </p> <% i = i + 1 %> <% end %> <p><input type='submit' value='Add to Basket'/></p> </form> <% unless basket.nil? or basket.empty? or no_upsell? %> <p><a href='basket?add-no-product=package'>No thank you, please continue with my order ...</a></p> <% end %> <% if not billing.tax_applies? %> <% elsif billing.include_tax? %> <p>* Includes <%= billing.tax_name %></p> <% else %> <p>* Excluding <%= billing.tax_name %></p> <% end %> If anyone can point out what I'm doing wrong or what I'm missing or failing to change I would GREATLY appreciate it! Many thanks in advance. Nigel

  • Storyboard editor layout confusion

    - by drew
I am having layout problems with the storyboard editor with a fairly simple screen. I have a UIViewController to which I have added a 320x440 UIScrollView at 0,0 followed by a 320x20 UIProgressBar at 0,440. It looks fine in Storyboard editor. I'm not entirely sure how the 20 pixel status bar at the top of the screen is accommodated given the CGRect frame coordinates that Storyboard calculates. On loading ( in -(void)viewDidLoad ), the UIScrollView frame seems to be set to 320x460 pixels at 0,0 but the UIProgressBar is still 320x20 at 0,440. When I add subviews to the UIScrollView, (UIImageViews in particular), they get stretched and get clipped on the screen because although the UIScrollView thinks it is 460 pixels high, it only has 440 pixels of screen to display in. Can anyone point me to a solution? Thanks

  • Test flash notice in layout view spec (rspec2, rails3)

    - by jbpros
Hi! I'd like to spec the fact that my application layout view prints out flash notices. However the following code does not run, the flash method does not exist in view specs (as opposed to controller specs where it works perfectly): describe 'layouts/application' do it "renders flash notices" do flash[:notice] = "This is a notice!" render response.should contain "This is a notice!" end end Is my code wrong or is it a "not-yet-implemented feature" in Rspec 2? I'm on Rails3 and Rspec2 from its master branch on Git. Thanks!

  • Using resource values as layout attributes (config.xml)

    - by synic
Looking in the android sdk folders, I've found a file called values/config.xml. This seems to be somewhere that you can define values for later use in layouts and animations. Given the config.xml: <resources> <string name="config_somePadding">50dip</string> </resources> How would I reference this to use as the layout_height in a layout xml file? @string/config_somePadding is actually the only one I've found that doesn't throw an error in Eclipse (even though there isn't a config_somePadding in values/strings.xml), but it appears to just put an empty string. In the sdk, they use an integer for animation duration. They reference it like this: android:duration="@android:integer/config_longAnimTime". Is there a way to use values that aren't integers in the layout_height attribute?

  • Layout Question - OnItemClickListener not working now

    - by user244190
    Ok, after figuring out the earlier question 'Layout Question', now my OnItemClickListener, and ItemLongClickListener(ContextMenu) have stopped working. With just the TextView it works fine xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content"> <TextView android:id="@+id/txtVehName" android:hint="@string/VEH_NAME" android:textSize="18dp" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginTop="10dip" android:layout_alignParentBottom="true" > </TextView> <RadioButton android:id="@+id/rbDefault" android:text="" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentRight="true" android:layout_alignParentBottom="true" > </RadioButton> </RelativeLayout> Anyone have any ideas as to why this would stop working? thanks

  • Third-party dll's in a website layout

    - by eych
I have a solution with several projects and one website. The website uses some third-party dll's. I have to place the dll's in the bin folder under the website. This is the same bin where the dll's from the other projects get auto-loaded. Is there a way I can place the third-party dll's in a separate folder? If I 'Add Reference' to the dll when it is in a separate folder, VS always adds it to the GAC. If the separate folder is outside of the website layout, 'Add Reference' never works. My goal is have the bin folder only for auto-updated dll's, and a separate folder for third-party dll's. [This method works fine for the projects; just the website has issues]
