  • java array pass by reference does not work?

    - by stdnoit
    guys i thought almost all language including java pass array into function as reference (modifiable) but somehow it does not work here. and the testArray is still 1,2,3 with size of 3 strange enough, when if i change result[i] = 2 to a[1] =2; it work . it did pass by reference what is wrong with this code? at the end, i had a = result; (which update the a). did result get removed from stack. that is why a still get to the original a ? i am confused. thanks class Test { public static void main(String[] args) { int[] testArray = {1,2,3}; equalize(testArray, 6); System.out.println("test Array size :" + testArray.length); for(int i = 0; i < testArray.length; i++) System.out.println(testArray[i]); } public static void equalize(int[] a, int biggerSize) { if(a.length > biggerSize) throw new Error("Array size bigger than biggerSize"); int[] result = new int[biggerSize]; // System.arraycopy(a, 0, result, 0, a.length); // int array default value should be 0 for(int i = 0; i < biggerSize; i++) result[i] = 2; a = result; } }

  • Pass variable to Info Window in FusionTableLayer

    - by user1030205
    I am building a web application that includes a Google Map layered with data from a Google Fusion Table. I have defined the info window for the markers in the Fusion Table and all is rendering as expected, but I have one issue. I need to pass a session variable from my web application to be included in the links that are defined in the info window, but can't seem to find a way to do this. Below is the javascript I am currently using to render the map: var myOptions = { zoom: 10, mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP, center: new google.maps.LatLng( 40.4230,-98.7372) } map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map_canvas"), myOptions); // Weather weatherLayer = new google.maps.weather.WeatherLayer({ temperatureUnits: google.maps.weather.TemperatureUnit.FAHRENHEIT }); weatherLayer.setMap(map); //Hobby Stores var storeLayer = new google.maps.FusionTablesLayer({ query: { select: "col2", from: "3991553" }, map: map, supressInfoWindows: true }); //Club Sites var siteLayer = new google.maps.FusionTablesLayer({ query: { select: "col13", from: "3855088" }, styles: [{ markerOptions: { iconName: "airports" }}], map: map, supressInfoWindows: true }); I'd like to be able to pass some type of parameter in the call to google.maps.FusionTableLayer that passes a value to be include in the info window, but can't find a way to do this. To view the actual page, visit www.dualrates.com. Enter your zipcode and select one of the airport markers to see the info window. You may have to zoom the map out to see an airfield.

  • Pass object from webserver to client

    - by user362914
    I developed a C# web application that calls a web-service which returns a base64 encoded array (PDF file). I then convert that array into a UCOMIStream object (I know it is obsolete, but the DLL that I am using requires it as a parameter). I use the following code to do the conversion which works perfectly. I can pass this object to the DLL so that I can print the PDF. This works great on the Webserver, but the requirement is to print it locally. Byte[] bBuffer = statementOut.statementcycle.statementdata.content; int size = bBuffer.Length; IntPtr mem = Marshal.AllocHGlobal(size); Marshal.Copy(bBuffer, 0, mem, size); // Create an OLE Stream object. System.Runtime.InteropServices.UCOMIStream str; //obsolete but the createstreamonhglobal outputs it CreateStreamOnHGlobal(mem, true, out str); The DLL resides on the client so I am able to use ActiveX to create the object using javascript and/or VBscript;however, I have not been able to figure out how to get the stream object to the client to pass to the DLL. How can this be achieved?

  • Pass Element value to $ajax->link in cakephp

    - by TwoThumbs
    I need to pass the value of an element to an $ajax-link without using a form/submit structure. (because I have a dynamically set number of clickable links through which I am triggering the action) I used to do this in Ruby using the Prototype javascript function $F like this: <%= link_to_remote "#{item.to_s}", :url => { :action => :add_mpc }, :with => "'category=' + $F('mpc_category')" -%> But this does not seem to work in Cakephp: <?php echo $ajax->link(substr($vehicle['vehicles']['year'], -2), array('action' => 'add_mpc', 'category' => '$F("mpc_category")'), array('update' => 'results', 'position' => 'top')); ?> PHP sees $F as a variable instead of a call to javascript. I'm not too familiar with Javascript, but is there another way to pass the value of the 'mpc_category' input element to the controller through this link? I have been looking for a couple days and can't find anyone dealing with this specific issue. Thanks for any assistance. Edit: fixed syntax in php statement.

  • Pass command line arguments to JUnit test case being run programmatically

    - by __nv__
    I am attempting to run a JUnit Test from a Java Class with: JUnitCore core = new JUnitCore(); core.addListener(new RunListener()); core.run(classToRun); Problem is my JUnit test requires a database connection that is currently hardcoded in the JUnit test itself. What I am looking for is a way to run the JUnit test programmatically(above) but pass a database connection to it that I create in my Java Class that runs the test, and not hardcoded within the JUnit class. Basically something like JUnitCore core = new JUnitCore(); core.addListener(new RunListener()); core.addParameters(java.sql.Connection); core.run(classToRun); Then within the classToRun: @Test Public void Test1(Connection dbConnection){ Statement st = dbConnection.createStatement(); ResultSet rs = st.executeQuery("select total from dual"); rs.next(); String myTotal = rs.getString("TOTAL"); //btw my tests are selenium testcases:) selenium.isTextPresent(myTotal); } I know about The @Parameters, but it doesn't seem applicable here as it is more for running the same test case multiple times with differing values. I want all of my test cases to share a database connection that I pass in through a configuration file to my java client that then runs those test cases (also passed in through the configuration file). Is this possible? P.S. I understand this seems like an odd way of doing things.

  • Pass two string to Detail View from Search Array

    - by waqqas
    I am using a tableview with a search function and is populated by a plist. I want to pass 2 strings through to a DetailView. But I can only get the sting used to populate the cell to pass over. I have tried many variations but can't figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. DetailView *nextLevel = [DetailView alloc]; NSString *valueString; NSString *selectedTitle; if (arraySearch == nil) { NSString *key = [arrayDataKeys objectAtIndex:indexPath.section]; NSArray *nameSection = [dictAllData objectForKey:key]; NSDictionary *dict = [nameSection objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; valueString = [dict objectForKey:@"name"]; selectedTitle = [dict objectForKey:@"word"]; } else { valueString = [arraySearch objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; **selectedTitle = [arraySearch objectAtIndex:indexPath.row];** //Obviously this is wrong but this is the line I need help with } nextLevel.title = valueString; nextLevel.itemname = valueString; nextLevel.itemWord = selectedTitle;

  • Root certificate authority works windows/linux but not mac osx - (malformed)

    - by AKwhat
    I have created a self-signed root certificate authority which if I install onto windows, linux, or even using the certificate store in firefox (windows/linux/macosx) will work perfectly with my terminating proxy. I have installed it into the system keychain and I have set the certificate to always trust. Within the chrome browser details it says "The certificate that Chrome received during this connection attempt is not formatted correctly, so Chrome cannot use it to protect your information. Error type: Malformed certificate" I used this code to create the certificate: openssl genrsa -des3 -passout pass:***** -out private/server.key 4096 openssl req -batch -passin pass:***** -new -x509 -nodes -sha1 -days 3600 -key private/server.key -out server.crt -config ../openssl.cnf If the issue is NOT that it is malformed (because it works everywhere else) then what else could it be? Am I installing it incorrectly? To be clear: Within the windows/linux OS, all browsers work perfectly. Within mac only firefox works if it uses its internal certificate store and not the keychain. It's the keychain method of importing a certificate that causes the issue. Thus, all browsers using the keychain will not work. • Uploading to Youtube via a proxy using the Java Youtube API

    - by Binaromong
    So I want to write a servlet which uploads a video to a youtube channel using the Java API, but I can't seem to find a way of specifying that I want to go through a proxy server. I've seen an example on this site where someone managed to do this using C#, but the Classes they used don't seem to exist in the Java API. Has anybody managed to successfully do this? YouTubeService service = new YouTubeService(clientID, developerKey);

  • ideas for a distributed cache proxy server

    - by Neeraj
    Hi everyone! I am implementing, a distributed cache proxy server.I have an idea of the HTTP and related stuff, so i am rather concentrating on the sub part "Distributed data storage". From some search on web i found that this could be done using Distributed Hash Tables(DHT). I was wondering if there exists some kind of library for this preferably in C/C++. Any better suggestions for the same will also be appreciated.

  • How to add a reference to my Web Service Proxy from a Custom Class

    I'm creating a custom class to abstract out some of the repeated SOAP header work. I want to reference a Web Service Reference I just created in my custom class so I can create an instance of it. How do I reference it? Notice I said I am trying to reference a Web Service "reference" (right click in VS and I added a "Web Service Reference" not a "Web Service"). So I'm trying to create an instance of that Proxy class that was created in MyCustomClass.cs
