  How do I configure the squid to only request text/html to the parent cache; right now I am using : cache_peer 127.0.0.1 parent 8080 0 no-query no-digest on the second hand I get a lot of direct request that do not use the parent proxy: some queries go like FIRST_UP_PARENT and some like DIRECT, how do I tell the squid to always use parent for text/html BTW .. is a transparent proxy I have tried : cache_peer 127.0.0.1 parent 8080 0 no-query no-digest acl elhtml req_mime_type -i ^text/html$ acl elhtml req_mime_type -i text/html cache_peer_access 127.0.0.1 allow elhtml cache_peer_access 127.0.0.1 deny all and it does not works Thanks in advance for the help.

This means that when a user sees my search-form, the defaultvalues will be set as an attribute on the input-field, and this will be the value that is shown. When a user clicks inside of the input field, the default value will be removed. When the user sees an input field at first is looks like this: <input type="text" value="" defaultvalue="From" /> This works just fine, but I have a big challenge. If a user have posted the form, and something is entered into one of the fields, then I can't show the default value in the field, if the user deletes the text from the input field. This is happening because the value of the text-field is still containing something, even when the user deletes the content. So my problem is how to show the default value when the form is submitted, and the user then removes the typed in content? When the form is submitted the input looks like this, and keeps looking like this until the form is submitted again: <input type="text" value="someValue" defaultvalue="From" /> So I need to show the default value in the input-field right after the user have deleted the content in the field, and removed the focus from the field. Does everyone understand what my problem is? Otherwise just ask, I have struggled with this one for quite some times now, so any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Kim Andersen

  Hello, SHORT DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM: I want to set the text of a searchbar without automatically triggering the search display controller that is bound to it. LONG DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM: I have an iphone application with a search bar and a search display controller. The searchdisplaycontroller is used for autocomplete. For autocomplete i use an sqlite database. The user enters the first few letters of a keyword and the result are shown in the table of the searchdisplaycontroller. An sql select query is executed for every character typed. this part works ok, the letters have been entered and the results are visible. The problem is the following: If the user selects a row from the table I want to change the text of the searchbar to the text that was selected in the autocomplete results table. I also want to hide the search display controller. This is not working. After the search display controller disappears the textbox in the search bar is empty. I have no idea what's wrong. I didn't think something so simple as changing the text of a textbox can get so complicated. I have tried to change the text in 2 methods: First in the didSelectRowAtIndexPath method (for the search results table of the search display controller), but that didn't help.   I'm designing a Silverlight software solution for students and teachers to record flashcards, e.g. words and phrases that students find while reading and errors that teachers notice while teaching. Requirements are: each person publishes his own flashcards in a file on a web server, e.g. http://:www.mywebserver.com/flashcards.txt other people subscribe to that person's flashcards by using a Silverlight flashcard reader that I have developed and entering the URLs of flashcard files they want to subscribe to, URLs and imported flashcards being saved in IsolatedStorage the flashcards.txt file has the following simple format: title, then blocks of question/answers: Jim Smith's flashcards from English class 53-222, winter semester 2009 ==fla Das kann nicht sein. That can't be. ==fla Es sei denn, er kommt nicht. Unless he doesn't come. The user then makes public the URL to his flashcard file and other readers begin reading in his flashcards. In order to lower the bar for non-technical users to contribute, it will even be possible for them to save this text in a Google Document, which they publish and distribute the URL. The flashcard readers will then recognize it is a google document and perform the necessary screen scraping to get at the raw text. I have two technical questions about this approach: What is a best way to plan now for scalability issues: e.g. if your reader is subscribed to 10 flashcard files that are each 200K, it will have to download 2MB of text just to find out if any new flashcards are available. Or can I somehow accurately and consistently get at the last update date/time of text files on servers and published google docs? Each reader will have the ability to allow the person to test himself on imported flashcards and add meta information to them, e.g. categorize them, edit them, etc. This information will be stored in IsolatedStorage along with the important flashcards themselves. What is a good pattern to allow these readers to share and synchronize this meta data, e.g. so when you are looking at a flashcard you can see that 5 other people have made corrections to it. The best solution I can think of now is that the Silverlight readers will have to republish their data to a central database, but then there is the problem of uniquely identifying each flashcard, the best approach seems to be URL + position-in-file, or even better URL + original text of both question and answer fields, but both of these have their obvious drawbacks. The main requirement is that the bar for participation is kept as low as possible, i.e. type text in a google document, publish it, distribute the URL, and you're publishing within the flashcard community. So I want to come up with the most efficient technical solutions in order to compensate for the lack of database, lack of unique ids, etc. For those who have designed or developed similar non-traditional, distributed database projects like this, what advice, experience or best-practice tips you can share on the above two points?

  My Word 2007 spell-check seems to work fine, except that when I paste in text from somewhere else, it won't detect any misspellings in that pasted text...no matter what I try. If it makes any difference, when I paste in text, the formatting is preserved (size color etc). Any ideas on what to try?

• WPF Textbox "normal" text input

  G'day, I'm not sure if this is a problem relevant to only me or if anyone else has this issue also. None the less, I'll try and describe what is going on here. I have a few textbox's, default style, etc. I set an explicit maxwidth and maxheight to prevent resize when the text exceeds the default width of the textbox. The issue is that the text wraps to the next line, but I only want single line. So I set maxlines to 1 and textwrapping to NoWrap. That's fine. Now the carat and typed text disappears under the edges of the textbox when the width is exceeded and the only way I can get the carat and newly typed text back into view is by pressing the left and right arrows. Coming from MFC and using textboxes all the time with HTML, I would have thought the default behaviour would be to have the textbox content scroll with the carat or am I missing something here?   I'm using Win32 and OpenGL to to draw text onto a window. I'm using the bitmap font method, with wglUseFontBitmaps. Here is my main rendering function: glClear(GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT); glPushMatrix(); glColor3f(1.0f, 0.0f, 1.0f); glBegin(GL_QUADS); glVertex2f(0.0f, 0.0f); glVertex2f(128.0f, 0.0f); glVertex2f(128.0f, 128.0f); glVertex2f(0.0f, 128.0f); glEnd(); glPopMatrix(); glPushMatrix(); glColor3f(1.0f, 1.0f, 1.0f); glRasterPos2i(200, 200); glListBase(fontList); glCallLists(5, GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, "Test."); glPopMatrix(); SwapBuffers(hDC); As you can see it's very simple and the only thing that it's supposed to do is draw a quadrilateral and draw the text "Test.". But the problem is that drawing a polygon seems to mess up any text operations I try to do after it. If I place the text drawing functions before the polygon, both the text and the polygon draw fine. Is there something I'm missing here? Edit: This problem only happens when the window is run in Fullscreen, by ChangeDisplaySettings. Any reason why this would be??

The ActiveX FileSystemObject does not support UTF-8, it seems. I tried UTF-16 encoding the text first but the result was garbled. What is a workaround?

• Finding text orientation in image (angle for rotation)

  There is an image captured by camera, and I need to find the angle of the text in order to rotate it to make the image better for OCR results. So I know that the fourier transform can be used for that purpose, My question is, does it really gives good results or may be it is better to use something different than that? Can you tell me if there is a good method for this purpose? I am afraid that not every image containing the text will give me a good result after using fourier transform method. Actually, if I make like it is written here: link text (see the part related with an example of text image) calculating the logarithm of the magnitude of the Fourier transform of image with text and then thresholding it, I get that points and I can calculate the line approximately passing through them, and after getting the line calculate the angle, and then make an affine transform, But, what if I do not get a good result every time using this method , and make a false transform? Any ideas please to judge wether the result is correct or not, or may be another method is better? The binary image can contain noise, even if there are not so much of them, the angle found as a result can be not accurate.

  How do I get a JLabel displaying a HTML string to appear greyed out (which is the behaviour of JLabels that don't display HTML text)? Is there another way than actually changing the colour myself by modifying the foreground property? I have however, tried a different out-of-the box approach, where I have put the HTML text JLabels inside of an inner JPanel and did this: mInnerPanel.setEnabled(shouldShow); //shouldShow is a boolean value Which hasn't worked.   Hi, I am using MVVM to show the database records in a gridview (ListView view). i have a textbox where we can enter the text to be searched in the results listed in the gridview. i tried many ways to highlight the search text (Not the entire row only the text matches in the record) in the records displayed in the list view but unable to highlight. i am able to find the starting and ending indexes. i tried to created rectangles using those indexes on the text block but unable to highlight.   In my Python script which uses Curses, I have a subwin to which some text is assigned. Because the text length may be longer than the window size, the text should be scrollable. It doesn't seem that there is any CSS-"overflow" like attribute for Curses windows. The Python/Curses docs are also rather cryptic on this aspect. Does anybody here have an idea how I can code a scrollable Curses subwindow using Python and actually scroll through it? \edit: more precise question
