  • Samba Server Make Multiple User Permissions Profiles

    - by Scriptonaut
I have a Samba file server running, and I was wondering how I could make multiple user accounts that have different permissions. For example, at the moment I have a user, smbusr, but when I ssh to the share, I can read, write, execute, and even navigate out of the samba directory and do stuff on the actual computer. This is bad because I want to be able to give out my IP so friends/family can use the server, but I don't want them to be able to do just anything. I want to lock the user in the samba share directory(and all the sub directories). Eventually I would like several profiles such as (smbusr_R, smbusr_RW, smbguest_R, smbguest_RW). I also have a second question related to this, is SSH the best method to connect from other unix machines? What about VPN? Or simply mounting like this: mount -t ext3 -o user=username //ipaddr/share /mnt/mountpoint Is that mounting command above the same thing as a vpn? This is really confusing me. Thanks for the help guys, let me know if you need to see any files, or need anymore information.

  • Troubleshooting transient Windows I/O "The parameter is incorrect." errors

    - by Kevin
We have a set of .Net 2.0 applications running on Windows 2003 servers which have started experiencing transient "The parameter is incorrect." Windows I/O errors. These errors always happen accessing a file share on a SAN. The fact that this error has happened with multiple applications and multiple servers leads me to believe that this is an infrastructure issue of some sort. The applications all run under the same domain account. When the errors occur they generally will resolve themselves within a few minutes. I can log in to the application server once the error starts occurring and access the file share myself with no problems. I have looked at the Windows event logs and haven't found anything useful. Due to the generic nature of "The parameter is incorrect.", I am looking for additional troubleshooting suggestions for this error. A sample stack trace is below. Note that while this example was during a directory creation operation, when the problem is occurring, this exception is thrown for any file system operations on the share. Exception 1: System.IO.IOException Message: The parameter is incorrect. Method: Void WinIOError(Int32, System.String) Source: mscorlib Stack Trace: at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.Directory.InternalCreateDirectory(String fullPath, String path, DirectorySecurity dirSecurity) at System.IO.Directory.CreateDirectory(String path, DirectorySecurity directorySecurity) at System.IO.Directory.CreateDirectory(String path)

  • Any Recommendations for a Web Based Large File Transfer System?

    - by Glen Richards
I'm looking for a server software product that: Allows my users to share large files with: The general public securely to 1 or more people (notification via email, optionally with a token that gives them x period of time to download) Allows anyone in the general public to share files with my users. Perhaps by invitation. Has to be user friendly enough to allow my users to use this with out having to bug me as the admin. It needs to be a system that we can install on our own server (we don't want shared data sitting on anyone else's server) A web based solution. Using some kind or secure comms channel would be good too, eg, ssh Files to share could be over 1 GB. I found the question below. WebDav does not sound user friendly enough: http://serverfault.com/questions/86878/recommendations-for-a-secure-and-simple-dropbox-system I've done a lot of searching, but I can't get the search terms right. There are too many services that provide this, but I want something we can install on our own server. A last resort would be to roll my own. Any ideas appreciated. Glen EDIT Sorry Tom and Jeff but Glen specifically says that he's looking for a 'product' so given that I specialise in this field thought that my expertise in this area may have been of use to him. I don't see how him writing services is going to be easy for him to maintain going forward (large IT admin overhead) or simple for his users and the general public to work with.

  • Poor NFS Performance: OpenFiler

    - by Safin09
Good Day Everyone, I have an issue with OpenFiler, a Linux-based operating that converts a computer system into a SAN/NAS appliance. Here is the problem. In my environment we have two Netapp Storevault 500 appliances that I normally perform backups to a NFS share. There are two backup cronjobs that use ghettoVCB to backup two groups of VM's. One group is a pool of 3 VMs. This takes 13 mins to complete. A second job that backups a pool of 5 VMs to a 2nd Storevault appliance which takes 2 hours. We then installed Openfiler on a old server that has 2 core Xeon processors. There is a software RAID 5 process in place. When performing the same backups to a NFS Openfiler share, the first backup job, which takes 13 mins, takes around 4 hours. The second backup job, which takes 2 hours, takes almost 10 hours to complete. This is unacceptable!!!! Especially considering the strain placed on the host ESX Server. I assumed that because of the software RAID 5, the overhead on the CPU explained the long backup times. I then installed Openfiler on a 2nd server, an IBM x306 machine which has a P4 Intel processor. This time no software RAID or any RAID at all. A single 750GB hard drive that contained the OS and the rest of the disk uses to backup VMs to a NFS share. I performed the first backup job of the pool of 3 VMs. This time the backup job took 1 and 1/2 hours to complete instead of 13 mins!!!!!!!!!! Is Openfiler simply poor at being an NFS Server!!!!!!!!!!!!! Has anyone else had these issues with Openfiler?

  • on debian, lighttpd apache2 using 80 port, lighttpd throws :address already use error

    - by user1960581
    I bought the linode(linode.com) server the other day. I've been trying to run lighttpd and apache2 at the same port, using lighttpd for static files. As linode is only providing ONE ipv4 address, I tried to bind lighttpd on the ipv6 address. That's where I got the same error each and very single time: can't bind to port [ipv6] 80 Address already in use. I tried bind the ipv4 address. Everything worked. Please help me, this is driving me nuts for the last two days. my lighttpd.conf file:(the ipv6 address isn't true) server.modules = ( "mod_access", "mod_alias", "mod_compress", "mod_redirect", # "mod_rewrite", ) server.document-root = "/var/www" server.upload-dirs = ( "/var/cache/lighttpd/uploads" ) server.errorlog = "/var/log/lighttpd/error.log" server.pid-file = "/var/run/lighttpd.pid" server.username = "www-data" server.groupname = "www-data" server.port = 80 server.bind = "2600:3c02::0000" server.use-ipv6 = "enable" #server.pid-file = "/var/run/lighttpd.pid" index-file.names = ( "index.php", "index.html", "index.lighttpd.html" ) url.access-deny = ( "~", ".inc" ) static-file.exclude-extensions = ( ".php", ".pl", ".fcgi" ) compress.cache-dir = "/var/cache/lighttpd/compress/" compress.filetype = ( "application/javascript", "text/css", "text/html", "text/plain" ) # default listening port for IPv6 falls back to the IPv4 port #include_shell "/usr/share/lighttpd/use-ipv6.pl " + server.port include_shell "/usr/share/lighttpd/create-mime.assign.pl" include_shell "/usr/share/lighttpd/include-conf-enabled.pl" ### ipv6 ### $SERVER["socket"] == "[2600:3c02::0000]:80" { # accesslog.filename = "var/log/lighttpd/ipv6/access.log" # server.document-root = "/var/www/" # server.error-handler-404 = "/index.php?error=404" } and the error message: can't bind to port, 2600:3c02::0000 Address already in use.

  • Windows 7 - system error 5 problem

    - by Ian
My wife has just had a new computer for Christmas (with an upgrade from VISTA to Windows 7), and has joined the home network. We are using a mix of WindowsXP and Ubuntu boxes linked via a switch. We are all in the same workgroup. (No domain). Internet access, DHCP, and DNS server is an SME server that thinks it is domain controller (although we are not using a domain). I need to run a script to back up my wife's machine (venus). In the past the script creates a share on a machine with lots of space (leda), and then executes the line. PSEXEC \\venus -u admin -p adminpassword -c -f d:\Progs\snapshot.exe C: \\leda\Venus\C-drive.SNA With the wife's old XP machine, this would run the sysinternals utility, copy shapshot, exe to her machine and run it, which would then back up her C: drive to the share on leda. I cannot get this to work with Windows 7, nor can I link through to the C$ share on her machine. This gives me a permissions error (system error 5). The admin account is a full admin account. And yes - I do know the password. The ordinary shares on her machine work fine! I guess I'm missing something that Microsoft have built into Windows 7 - but what? The machine is running Windows 7 business, with windows firewall, AVG anti virus, and all the crap-ware you get with a new PC removed. Thanks

  • Login to OS X Server User Account from Local Computer

    - by Brod Wilkinson
I have OS X Server installed on a mac mini. I've created several User accounts, one of which is Account Name: Bob Password: abc123 From the Mac Mini's login screen I can choose "Server" (main account) "Bob" (Bobs account) and "Other..." OS X Server Accounts, from "Other..." if I input Bobs credentials it will log me in. I also have a macbook air, I would like to be able to select from the Login Screen "Other..." input Bobs credentials and have it login to Bobs account, or any other User Account for that matter. My Server is setup as private with the server address: server.network.private Following some googled instructions as well as apples very own instructions I have: Setup an Open Directory with Username: diradmin Password: abc123 Then on the macbook air gone into System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Options and clicked Join next to Network Account Server, input my server (server.network.private) with diradmin credentials and its connected. Great. I've also ticked Allow Network Users to Login and Login Window and selected All Users. I was assuming this would allow my macbook air to login to the "Bob" account by selecting "Other..." from the login window although there is no "Other..." option. I then setup a VPN, basic credentials, logged into it on the macbook air and still not much has changed. I am able to share screens with the "Bob" account form my macbook air by logging in by clicking Share Screen... from the Finder under Shared > Network Server and then clicking Login In but this obviously requires the macbook air to already be logged into an account before it can share screens which is not suitable. Is there any way to simply login to the OS X Server User Account from the macbook air's login screen via the "Other..." like it does on the mac mini's login screen? Thanks in advance. Operating System: OS X 10.9 Mavericks OS X Server: Version 3

  • Debugging Samba/CUPS printer sharing with Windows

    - by mrdrbob
I've got a HP Deskjet hooked up to a Slackware 12.2 box. I've got CUPS set up and can print a test page from the box just fine. I've also got Samba set up and have a couple file shares that work fine. I'm trying to share that HP Deskjet out via Samba, but I can't get it to show up in any Windows system. I see the server and its file shares in Windows networking, but when I open the Printers, no printer shows up. Running net view \\servername from the command line lists the file shares, but no printers. Here's the pertinent part of my smb.conf, if that helps: [global] workgroup = HOMENET security = share hosts allow = 192.168.1. 192.168.2. 127. load printers = yes printcap name = cups printing = cups log file = /var/log/samba.%m max log size = 50 [printers] comment = All Printers path = /var/spool/samba browseable = no public = yes writable = no printable = yes guest only = yes Can anyone give me some pointers as to where to start looking for potential causes? Update: Running testparm shows no errors. Here's the output (minus the file shares): [global] workgroup = HOMENET security = SHARE log file = /var/log/samba.%m max log size = 50 printcap name = cups hosts allow = 192.168.1., 192.168.2., 127. • Debian Squeeze Linux 9p virtfs guest mount failure

    - by Tero Kilkanen
First some background information on the server: Host OS: Debian Linux Squeeze + qemu-kvm version 1.0+dfsg-8~bpo60+1 Guest OS: Debian Linux Squeeze I use qemu-kvm via libvirt. I have set up 9p VirtFS with the following in Guest's XML config: <filesystem type='mount' accessmode='passthrough'> <source dir='/srv/www'/> <target dir='wwwdata'/> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x06' function='0x0'/> </filesystem> That is, I want to share /srv/www to the guest OS using mount tag wwwdata. When I try to mount the VirtFS share from the guest, I get an error message: root@server:~# mount -t 9p -o trans=virtio,version=9p2000.L2 wwwdata /srv/www/ mount: wwwdata: can't read superblock I also tried virtfs target dir/mount_tag www at first. I got the same error message. However, I was able to mount the VirtFS share using mount tag www1111, or www1 or similar. Some more notes on this one. dmesg doesn't show anything useful either in guest or the host. The only sign is this entry in the guest dmesg: [ 36.054936] Installing v9fs 9p2000 file system support Does anyone know how to get this working correctly? Google gives no useful information on this issue; I've tried several searches.

  • Error in Bind9 named.conf file. Bind won't start.

    - by tj111
    I'm trying to setup a DNS server on an Ubuntu Server machine (10.04). I configured an entry in named.conf.local to test it, but when trying to restart bind9 I get the following error: * Starting domain name service... bind9 [fail] So I checked the output of syslog and this is what I get. I went through it and deleted a blank line just for the hell of it, but I can't see how it figures there's an error in there. Note that before this I did have an error in named.conf.local, but it showed up properly in syslog and I fixed it, so it is reporting the correct file. Here is the contents of named.conf: // This is the primary configuration file for the BIND DNS server named. // // Please read /usr/share/doc/bind9/README.Debian.gz for information on the // structure of BIND configuration files in Debian, *BEFORE* you customize // this configuration file. // // If you are just adding zones, please do that in /etc/bind/named.conf.local include "/etc/bind/named.conf.options"; include "/etc/bind/named.conf.local"; include "/etc/bind/named.conf.default-zones";

  • Drive Mapped On Amazon EC2 Instance Startup Disconnected After Logon

I am launching an Amazon EC2 instance (Windows Server 2012), and on startup (though User Data field), it runs this powershell script: <powershell> NET CONFIG SERVER /AUTODISCONNECT:-1 # clear all prior connections net use * /delete /y > C:\delLog.txt 2>&1 # mount new drive net use R: \\dbHost\share /user:username pass /persistent:yes > C:\useLog.txt 2>&1 ipconfig /all > C:\ipLog.txt </powershell> When it launches and I connect to it through RDP, it shows in explorer "Diconnected Network Drive (R:). If I double click it, error message displays "R:\ is not accesible. Access id denied". Normally, it would ask me for credentials to reconnect. I need for this drive to be connected through the duration of the instance. delLog.txt contents: You have these remote connections: T: \\dbHost\share Continuing will cancel the connections. The command completed successfully. useLog.txt contents: The command completed successfully. ipLog.txt contents as expected. The net use commands works fine by itself, it connects. [printers] comment = All Printers path = /var/spool/samba guest only = Yes guest ok = Yes printable = Yes browseable = No

  • How to create RPM for 32-bit arch from a 64-bit arch server?

    - by Gnanam
Our production server is running CentOS5 64-bit arch. Because there are no RPM available currently for SQLite latest version (v3.7.3), I created RPM using rpmbuild the very first time by following the instructions given here. I was able to successfully create RPM for 64-bit (x86_64) architecture. But am not able to create RPM for 32-bit (i386) architecture. It failed with the following errors: ... ... ... + ./configure --build=x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu --host=x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu --target=i386-redhat-linux-gnu --program-prefix= --prefix=/usr --exec-prefix=/usr --bindir=/usr/bin --sbindir=/usr/sbin --sysconfdir=/etc --datadir=/usr/share --includedir=/usr/include --libdir=/usr/lib64 --libexecdir=/usr/libexec --localstatedir=/var --sharedstatedir=/usr/com --mandir=/usr/share/man --infodir=/usr/share/info --enable-threadsafe checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c checking whether build environment is sane... yes checking for gawk... gawk checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes checking for style of include used by make... • postfix (for sending mail only) multiple domain setup

    - by seanl
I have the following problem, I have a Centos 5.4 VPS hosting a few nginx sites (some static, some cakephp), I would like to be able to send email from each sites contact page through postfix to my google apps hosted email (different accounts for each site) so that apps can then send out an auto email to the person filling in the contact form etc I have a bare-bones postfix installation with the following added into the main.cf config file. from using this guide virtual_alias_domains = hash:/etc/postfix/virtual_alias_domains virtual_alias_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/virtual_alias_maps (both of these files have been converted into db files using postmap) I have configured DNS correctly for each site and setup SPF records. (I'm aware R-DNS will still reference my actual hostname not the domain name and cause a possible spam issue but one thing at a time) I can telnet localhost and the helo localhost so that I can send a command line email from an address in the virtual_alias_domains to an email in the virtual_alias_maps file which seems sends without giving an error but it is sending to my local linux account not the email address specified. my question is am i approching this the wrong way in terms of the virtual alias mapping or is this even possible to do in the manner im trying. Any help is greatly appreciated thanks. my postconf -n outlook looks like this alias_database = hash:/etc/aliases alias_maps = hash:/etc/aliases command_directory = /usr/sbin config_directory = /etc/postfix daemon_directory = /usr/libexec/postfix debug_peer_level = 2 html_directory = no inet_interfaces = localhost mail_owner = postfix mailq_path = /usr/bin/mailq.postfix manpage_directory = /usr/share/man mydestination = $myhostname, localhost.$mydomain, localhost myhostname = myactual hostname mynetworks = 127.0.0.0/8 myorigin = $mydomain newaliases_path = /usr/bin/newaliases.postfix queue_directory = /var/spool/postfix readme_directory = /usr/share/doc/postfix-2.3.3/README_FILES sample_directory = /usr/share/doc/postfix-2.3.3/samples sendmail_path = /usr/sbin/sendmail.postfix setgid_group = postdrop unknown_local_recipient_reject_code = 550 virtual_alias_domains = hash:/etc/postfix/virtual_alias_domains virtual_alias_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/virtual_alias_maps

  • Postfix able to receive email but not able to send it

    - by c0mrade
    I had postfix running on my machine(comes with centos minimal), but today I configured it to use my domain for the sake of example this is my domain name example.com . Here is my config : alias_database = hash:/etc/aliases alias_maps = hash:/etc/aliases command_directory = /usr/sbin config_directory = /etc/postfix daemon_directory = /usr/libexec/postfix data_directory = /var/lib/postfix debug_peer_level = 2 header_checks = regexp:/etc/postfix/header_checks html_directory = no inet_interfaces = all inet_protocols = ipv4 mail_owner = postfix mailbox_size_limit = 1073741824 mailq_path = /usr/bin/mailq.postfix manpage_directory = /usr/share/man message_size_limit = 10485760 mydestination = $myhostname, localhost.$mydomain, localhost, $mydomain mydomain = example.com myhostname = mail.example.com mynetworks = 127.0.0.0/8 mynetworks_style = host myorigin = $mydomain newaliases_path = /usr/bin/newaliases.postfix queue_directory = /var/spool/postfix readme_directory = /usr/share/doc/postfix-2.6.6/README_FILES relayhost = smtp.$mydomain sample_directory = /usr/share/doc/postfix-2.6.6/samples sendmail_path = /usr/sbin/sendmail.postfix setgid_group = postdrop smtpd_banner = $myhostname ESMTP $mail_name smtpd_client_restrictions = permit_mynetworks,reject_unknown_client,permit smtpd_recipient_restrictions = permit_mynetworks,permit_auth_destination,permit_sasl_authenticated,reject unknown_local_recipient_reject_code = 550 I need one email account to be able to send emails (password retrievals etc.). I read today somewhere that if you create unix account postfix will recognize it as email address so if your account username was ant your email would be [email protected]. So I tested that and tried to send email to [email protected] and I successfully received mail. When I try to send the email with ant task script, I'm not able to connect : Failed messages: javax.mail.MessagingException: Could not connect to SMTP host: mail.example.com, port: 25; nested exception is: java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect What am I missing here? Edit I'm able to telnet to localhost : Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to localhost. Escape character is '^]'. 220 mail.example.com ESMTP Postfix

  • In Fedora, Perl program cannot find Time::Piece library

    - by Eric Leschinski
I have a Perl program named /usr/bin/octbatch running as a script on Fedora 17 Linux. When I run this command: /usr/bin/octbatch I get the error: Can't locate Time/Piece.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/local/lib64/perl5 /usr/local/share/perl5 /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib64/perl5 /usr/share/perl5) at /usr/bin/octbatch line 6. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/bin/octbatch line 6. Here is the relevant lines of the Perl script: #!/usr/bin/perl -wT $ENV{PATH} = "/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin"; use strict; use POSIX qw(setsid :sys_wait_h); use Time::Piece; use Time::Local; I have to install Piece.pm so perl can find it. I've already installed it with this command (using the defaults): /usr/bin/perl -MCPAN -e install Time::Piece I have the Piece.pm file in /home/el/perl5/lib/perl5/x86_64-linux-thread-multi/ however when I run the octbatch command I get the same error as above. Like it can't even find it. Here is my PERL5LIB variable: el@defiant ~/gnuoctbluehost/single_stock_analysis $ env | grep PERL5 PERL5LIB=/home/el/perl5/lib/perl5/x86_64-linux-thread-multi:/home/el/perl5/lib/perl5 And the Piece.pm is located under /home/el/perl5/lib/perl5/x86_64-linux-thread-multi So my question is, Why is it not finding my Piece.pm file? And what are the ways I can get the @INC variable to include it. Or how do I make perl see it?

  • Postfix a lot of relay acces denied errors in maillog

    - by tester3
I'm on Centos 6.5 with Postfix/Dovecot and some virtual domains. Postfix works fine, but I've got a lot of messages like this "NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from 1-160-127-12.dynamic.hinet.net[1.160.127.12]: 454 4.7.1 : Relay access denied; from= to= proto=SMTP" in my maillog. • Minimum permissions needed to create a user Home Folder in Windows Active Directory

    - by Jim
We would like the Help Desk to have the responsibility of creating User Home folders instead of our 2nd level support. The help desk global group is already an Account Operator, so in Active Directory they are able to edit all User Attributes just fine. The problem is figuring out the minimum level of permissions needed on the File Server to create the home share, with out giving them access to everyone home share. So if they open AD Users and Computer, open the properties for a user, and enter \home\users\%username% in the profile tab and then click OK, they get the following error. The \home\users\username home folder was not created because you do not have create access on the server. The user account has been updated with the new home folder value but you must create the directory manually after obtaining the required access right. Right now I have given the Helpdesk group Full Control on the root folder only (no files or subdirectories) The directory is actually created, but the permissions on the newly created folder only show administrators full control, and no permissions for the configured user account. It sure sounds like I'd have to make the helpdesk local admins on the file servers, which is what I'd like to avoid. Especially since the file servers are a large cluster hosting much much more than the entire orgs home share structure.

  • pdftotext not outputting hebrew characters

    - by Ofri Raviv
I'm using Xpdf's pdftotext to get the text out of some hebrew pdf files on Ubuntu. On my local machine this worked fine. I then tried to do it on another machine and the hebrew characters don't show up in the text file. I verified that I have the language package (see below why I think so). Where else can I look for the problem? >> tail -2 /etc/xpdf/xpdfrc include /etc/xpdf/includes >> cat /etc/xpdf/includes # This file was automatically generated by /usr/sbin/update-xpdfrc. # Instead, add or remove files in /etc/xpdf/ then run # /usr/sbin/update-xpdfrc to regenerate this file. include /etc/xpdf/xpdfrc-latin2 include /etc/xpdf/xpdfrc-thai include /etc/xpdf/xpdfrc-greek include /etc/xpdf/xpdfrc-turkish include /etc/xpdf/xpdfrc-arabic include /etc/xpdf/xpdfrc-hebrew include /etc/xpdf/xpdfrc-cyrillic >> cat /etc/xpdf/xpdfrc-hebrew #----- begin Hebrew support package (2003-feb-16) unicodeMap ISO-8859-8 /usr/share/xpdf/hebrew/ISO-8859-8.unicodeMap unicodeMap Windows-1255 /usr/share/xpdf/hebrew/Windows-1255.unicodeMap #----- end Hebrew support package >> ls /usr/share/xpdf/hebrew/ ISO-8859-8.unicodeMap Windows-1255.unicodeMap

  • SELinux blocking Samba directory listing

    - by Sean M
I am running Samba on a CentOS server, and I am experiencing a problem where it allows me to connect to the server and see a share, but shows the share as an empty directory. I find this behavior strange. Here is the stanza in my smb.conf for the given share: [seanm] path = /home/seanm writeable = yes valid users = seanm, root read only = No Here's what I see on the server side: [seanm@server ~]$ ls -l -rw-r--r-- 1 seanm seanm 40 Jan 4 13:45 pangram.txt And yet: [seanm@client ~]$ smbclient //server/seanm -U seanm -W WORKGROUP Enter seanm's password: Domain=[WORKGROUP] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 3.0.33-3.29.el5_5.1] smb: \> ls . D 0 Fri Jan 7 10:08:55 2011 .. D 0 Fri Jan 7 07:58:31 2011 58994 blocks of size 262144. 50356 blocks available This behavior is present on both a Windows client and a Linux client system. The behavior is present with the firewall on and with the firewall off, so it's not that. Neither /var/log/messages nor /var/log/secure have any complaints about Samba. I doubt that SELinux is a problem: just in case, here are the relevant settings. [root@server ~]# getsebool -a | grep samba samba_domain_controller --> off samba_enable_home_dirs --> on samba_export_all_ro --> off samba_export_all_rw --> off samba_share_fusefs --> off samba_share_nfs --> off use_samba_home_dirs --> on virt_use_samba --> off What am I doing wrong here, and what can I do to fix it? Edit: SELinux probably is the problem, judging by the fact that the issue goes away when I set SELinux to "permissive" or issue setsebool -P samba_export_all_rw on - both of which are unacceptable for production environments. What the heck kind of context does a directory need to have on it for Samba users to actually get files from it? I consider rolling your own rules and/or context to be deeply sub-optimal.
