  • Kerberos: connection from win app running from IIS to SQL failed

    I have an IIS web-application with Windows authentication and impersonation. This application connects to SQL server. In this case Kerberos works fine. But there is a problem. Web-application runs windows application (not .NET), which also connects to the SQL server. Windows application runs with IIS app user credentials and impersonates current site user to connect to SQL server. scheme: http://i.stack.imgur.com/2cgv7.png When delegation for IIS user is set to "Trust this computer for delegation to any service" everything works fine. But I can't use this type of delegation according to security requirements. When I set delegation to "Specific services" and choose MSSQLSvc SPN, connection from windows application fails with "ANONIMOUS" fault. WireShark shows "KRB5KDC_ERR_BADOPTION" packet. What I'm doing wrong?

I also checked notepad C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts their is no restriction for localhost. Help. Thanks...

Specifically, there is a sound when it fails to boot and the computer automatically restarts. You can listen to the sound here. What could be the problem?

    I have an external hard disk where I have created many partitions to use also in Linux. First two partitions are FAT32. The third is a Truecrypt partition. I cannot assign a letter to the second partition. When I go to Manage disk and right-click on the unassigned partition, most of the options are not enabled. What have I to do to see this partition on my XP PC?

  • Metro Apps on Win 8 aren't working with static ip behind auth proxy

    In Windows 8 Professional, Metro Apps and Windows Update do not work on static IP settings behind authenticated proxy server. They work on DHCP on the same proxy settings. (We have DHCP for wifi and static IP for LAN, both using the same proxy server). IE, Chrome and other desktop apps work nicely on both. Metro apps worked on an auth proxy (DHCP only), when I changed their proxy settings from the 'edit group policy' option. (StartSettingsEdit Group PolicyComputer ConfigurationAdministrative TemplatesNetwork IsolationInternet Proxy for Apps) Can this be fixed?

  • Is there a real problem in this Retrospect duplicate of my hard drive?

    I recently duplicated my XP "C" drive, using Retrospect. When it finished, there were 6 errors. I checked the log and the 1st error referred to Microsoft Security Essentials\Support\Applications.etl: Appears incomplete. The other 5 errors referred to the Microsoft SQL Server.....\MSSQL\log_...trc: Appears incomplete. Is this a problem that can be solved by reinstalling Microsoft Security Essentials? Or wht else?     Is there a script or batch file to automate the log-on process from the XP Welcome screen? As all details are the same Username, Password, and Domain in a room of 30 machines. The reason I don't use Windows AutoAdminLogon is I only want to logon temporary at different times as a user to run such things as online test for a class of high school students without the students logging on individually first, also it would be useful for admin tasks if I can change/specify the user details.

Googled around and there is a way to disable devices completely: Cdrom: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\cdrom\Start (from 1 to 4) Usb: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\USBSTOR (from 3 to 4) but I need to disable them only for particular users.

  • Synaptics/usb mouse drivers data is invalid on win server 2003

    Have just installed windows server 2003 image onto an HP laptop. Cannot get the mouse drivers to work. Have the correct drivers because I've extracted them out of a working PC (exact same model). I am always getting "Data is invalid". This is the synaptics touchpad drivers. Does anyone know how to fix this/ workaround to get mouse working? I have heard it may have something to do with permissions in the registry?

    In Windows 7 I was connected wirelessly for about a week when one day I came home and the wireless was connected with a strong signal but it said that I had "No Internet Access" It's been 3 days since then now and I have yet to find a way to fix it.   • rundll32.exe constantly running taking up resources slowing down my Win 7 computer

    Over the past week, my Windows 7 Home Premium computer (8gb RAM, 64bit) has been running slowly. When I look at my processes, there are always 2 rundll32.exe's running taking up 3 & 25% CPU power, memory slowly creeping upwards from around 115mb to 160mb each in the time it has taken me to right this message, sometimes popping upt o 300mb and back down. Svchost.exe is at 260mb. When I end those processes, everything returns to snappiness. I recently did some Windows Updates, and I think it was around the time my computer started acting slowly, but I can't remember if it was before or after the updates that things started running slowly. Last night I ccleaned & defrag'ed. How can I diagnose what's causing the slowness?

  • Win 2k3 server's network problem.

    I'm running 4 of Win2k3 64bit servers in the same subnet. It's been more than an year that I've running them without a problem. Recently, I kept losing the connection to one of the server. Let's say it's 'server A' which has a problem. Losing the connection means that I can't access to server A from the other servers. I've checked if server A has any internet connection problems or are there any abnomal event logs in the eventvwr - but haven't found any problems. The problem usually resolved if I restart the server again. But as time goes by, it keeps happen again and again. I can't afford to restart the server every time, and I really want to find out the reason. Can anyone help me out? Let me know if you guys need any of more information.

I am getting this error, There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request, when a machine on the domain is trying to be accessed from other machines from the network. Accessing other machines from this machine works as expected. How should I go about to fix this? We are running a Windows Server 2003 and XP Pro clients.
