  • WPF - Pausing the UI Thread?

    I have a tab control with draggable tabs. When the mouse is released it removes the selected tab from the tabControl and adds it to its new location. My problem is that the TabControl draws itself after removing the tab, and then again when adding the tab so there is a very noticeable flicker that shows the tab behind the tab being moved. Is there a way I can pause the UI thread so the tab control does not redraw until both the Remove and the Insert operations finish? Or perhaps some other alternative way of rearranging the tab items? The Drag/Drop operation exists in a separate code file as an Attached Property

  • WPF ListView in GridView mode Highlighting problem

    While reskining GridView (ListView with more columns), I ran into a problem, that I couldn't change the color of the Highlighted row. I searched the internet and found out, that adding this can help. <SolidColorBrush x:Key="{x:Static SystemColors.HighlightBrushKey}" Color="Transparent" /> <SolidColorBrush x:Key="{x:Static SystemColors.ControlBrushKey}" Color="Transparent" /> This solved the issue for some people but it didnt help me. The Highlight color was still in system default. I finally managed to change the color of the selected row, but the highlight is still visible around the border of the row plus i need to get rid of the Highlight in the ColumnHeaders.   • Data binding manually update in WPF MVVM

    My ViewModel: class ViewModel { public string FileName {get;set;} } and in my View I bind a label's content to ViewModel's FileName. now When I do drag-drop a file to my View, How can I update the label's Content property, so that the ViewMode's FileName also get updated via binding? Directly set the label's Content property won't work, it just simply clear the binding.

    I am using the following code in my project. The print dialog shows, but it always prints on the default printer regardless of the user's selection. I have read similar topics but none of them seem to use the SerializerWriterCollator. What is the problem?     Hi, I am using animations with my window to slide out or slide back up. But when these animations are not used. I would like to use Window.Top to set the position of the window, but I think due to animations I cannot set the top. I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix this? Thanks example. window.top is already = 33. but when is ay window.top =900; it will stay at 33.

Within the ComboBox control, I reference the style like so: Style="{DynamicResource MyComboBoxStyle}" This works ok. I want to be able to add some triggers to some of the ComboBox controls. What is a good way to use the style referenced as a dynamic resource yet still be able to add triggers to some of the ComboBox controls?

    I have a gridview were I define some columns, like this... <GridViewColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <TextBlock Text="{Binding MyProp}" /> </DataTemplate> </GridViewColumn.CellTemplate> I bind my gridview to a collection and implemts INotifyPropertyChanged in the property MyProp. This works well and any changes of MyProp are reflected to the gridview. If I add another column that is bound to the object itself I dont get any notifications/updates. My code... <GridViewColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Converter={StaticResource myConverter}}"/> </DataTemplate> </GridViewColumn.CellTemplate> I think I need something like INotifyPropertyChanged for the object but I have no idea how to do this. I would like to change the background color of my control when IsDirty is true AND the control is selected. I found the MultiTrigger and MultiDataTrigger classes...but in this case I need to somehow trigger on data and property. How can I do this?

    First I will explain the context of the problem, because you might be able to point me in a better direction. I need to implement a undo-redo like system on an object. The object has a series of dependency properties. Some are double, int, string but some are also of DependencyObject type. I need to save the value of the property before it is changed, and for this I added the CoerceValueCallback. public static readonly DependencyProperty MyBackgroundProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("MyBackground", typeof(MyCustomizableBackground), typeof(MyComponent), new UIPropertyMetadata(default(MyCustomizableBackground), null, new CoerceValueCallback(OnPropertyChanged))); In OnPropertyChanged I save the value before it's changed. MyCustomizableBackground is the DependencyObject that has also some dependency properties. The problem is that in this case, where I have a custom object as a property, the OnPropertyChanged method isn't triggered, but when I have a common type, it is triggered.

  • Memory leak with WPF & ItemsControl (VB.NET)

    I have an ItemsControl that uses a DataTemplate to display properties in my customClass that implements INotifyPropertyChanged... Pretty straightforward... Some items in the DataTemplate use CommandBindings (such as buttons), and a few have some code-behind (yuck). When I empty the ItemsControl and set all instances of customClass = Nothing , no memory is released from my program. This becomes a problem pretty quickly! Any idea where I should start looking? I've even gone so far as to completely traverse the visual tree of each DataTemplate instance and set each Visual = Nothing. I'm not really if that's supposed to have any effect though.

    There are bogus errors hanging around, but at runtime everything works. Right now, I'm getting Cannot locate resource 'img/icons/silk/arrow_refresh.png'.   • WPF WebBrowser, unable to run Javascript and applet in Popups windows

    Hello All, I have a desktop application that has a control with a WebBrowser control inside. Everything works fine except with Siebel CMR popups. When it opens a new popup , Siebel tries to load an applet in the popup window but it doesn't work , it works fine in the main browser. This works perfectly with IE also. It seems to be related to some security setting but i am quite lost. Does anyone know if there is any way to modify or check the security when a new popup is opened? Thanks in advance! Fede

    I have the following code txtBlock1.Inlines.Add("This is first paragraph \n This is second paragraph"); then TextBlock would display: This is first paragraph This is second paragraph But, if I have the following (which I though is equivalent); txtBlock1.Inlines.Add("This is first paragraph"); txtBlock1.Inlines.Add("\n"); txtBlock1.Inlines.Add("This is second paragraph"); TextBlock display: This is first paragraph // but second paragraph missing If I separate out the linebreak then the rest of text after the linebreak doesn't show. Why? I have to use run: Run run1 = new Run(); run1.Text = "First Paragraph"; run1.Text += "\n"; run1.Text += "Second Paragraph"; txtBlock1.Inlines.Add(run1); Then it produce the result correctly. Why I cannot add inline text to Textblock and require me to use Run?

    I am developing a app for sending some feedback. Basically i'm trying to make a TextBox for comments, but i'm used to the WinForms MultiLine=true. I've set MinLines to 3, which is getting there, but preferably i'd like if user is able to type wherever in this block, like press enter and do dot points sort of thing - like: - Item 1 blah - Item 2 blahlb lahbvl d But at the moment the text all stays on one line. - Item 1 blah - Item 2 blahb blahb blah This comments will then help fill the body of an email which is sent. It may be pointless if I can't easily keep the same formatting when putting this string into the email body string (so that it looks like it does when sent as it does when typed). Can I achieve what I'm after or do I have to leave it as all text on one line?

  • WPF: Order of stretch sizing

    I'm creating a modal dialog window which contains three essential parts: a TextBlock containing instructions, a ContentControl for the dialog panel, and a ContentControl for the dialog buttons. Each of these parts are contained in a separate Grid row. I have some specific constraints when it comes to how the dialog should be sized. The issue I'm having is with the instructions TextBlock. I want the instructions to be as wide as the ContentControl for the dialog panel. The instructions should then wrap and grow vertically as needed. Should the instructions not be able to grow vertically, then it should begin to grow horizontally. Getting the instructions to be the width of the ContentControl and grow vertically was simple. The part I can't seem to figure out is how to get it to grow horizontally when out of vertical space. My initial thought was to create a class that extends TextBlock and override MeasureOverride. However, that method is sealed. Currently, I'm playing with the idea of have the dialog Window override MeasureOverride to calculate the available size for the instructions block. Am I missing a much simpler way of accomplishing this? Does anyone have any better ideas than this? Messing with MeasureOverride seems like it will be a lot of work.     I have a Telerik RadDatePicker, which I am binding to the SelectedDate property. I want this control to show a validation error when the default date set in the control is removed/deleted. I was able to achieve this, but the problem was that the validation error occurs only when Enter is pressed or when we click outside the control. Is there a way tell RadDatePicker to update the source without moving the focus? (Tried UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged, but still it wasnt working)

  • WPF DataGrid row validation error count

    Hi! I'm currently facing the problem, that I import an Excel file to a DataGrid. This works pretty fine, but after importing the table, I need to know how many rows are invalid. I have applied several validation rules for the different datatypes, and I have an icon in the row header, that shows up if the row is invalid. But since I have more that 10.000 rows in the grid, I don't want scroll all the way through it to find the errors. Any ideas, how to determine the count of invalid rows (and then maybe bind that to a textbox)? Thx
