• Hide table row onclick using jquery

  I have a bunch of table rows such as: <tr> <td>cell1</td> <td>cell2</td> <td><a href="action.php">cell3</a></td> </tr> <tr class="notes_row"> <td colspan="6"> <ul class="message warning no-margin" id="notes_box"> <li>Notes here</li> </ul> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>cell1</td> <td>cell2</td> <td><a href="action.php">cell3</a></td> </tr> The class="notes_row" is only there if notes are present for the row above it. How can I hide the tr and if its there the tr with the notes_row class below it without affecting the other rows using jquery? So if someone clicked cell3 the tr that link is in is hidden then if there is a notes table row below it, it hides that as well.

• Preserving the order of annotations

  When obtaining the list of fields using getFields() and getDeclaredFields(), the order of the fields in a Java class is undefined. I need this order in my validation library. Since the order is not preserved (though some claim that the order is preserved in JDK 6 and above but is not guaranteed across VMs). I cannot speculate on this because the order of annotations across fields is absolutely essential for the library. One way to get around this is to have an order or an index attribute in my Annotation. What worries me is that the code could become a bit cumbersome for maintaining in the following case. If the use wants to insert a new annotated field then, he might have to renumber all the other annotations in the class. I could have the order or index as a floating point number - float or double but , it wouldn't look good to have order such as 1, 1.5, 2, etc., What would be an elegant solution for this problem?   Hello, How i can set redirect url for virtual directory in iis 7.0.I have installed lates url rewrite module 2. ? I could explain my problem with exsample. I have website on my iis 7.0 server: www.mysite.com I desided to create virtual directory sales under my site which is pointing to website root directory.Now I need create redirect url for the vdir. The vdir is pointing same virtual root directory as my site root is The big idea is that i can write on browser www.mysite/sales and i will automaticly redirect to url www.mysite.com?productid=200. I tried to make redirect with rewite url for vdir(not website), but I always get this error message : cannot add duplicate colletion entry of type 'rule' with unique key key attribute 'name' set to "test".This happens when i am pointing for virtual vdir and try to add rule. I can add rules to website level,but rules doesn work. I mean url www.mysite/sales gives me follwing error. I know that key is unique I checked it from web.config. This kind of feature was really easy use in IIS 6.0, just point vdir with your mouse and set properties--a redirect to url. Please some one explain what is right way to do it in IIS 7.0

• Refetching a previously visited page

  All, I am having a field day with page refetching. Any help or pointer will be greatly appreciated!! The behavior is a bit specific to mobile browser. Problem: I have two pages and created a shortcut link to pg#1 in the home page. Through a form submit button, user is taken from pg#1 to pg#2. All that is working fine. Now once I am on pg#2. I will leave the browser and click the shortcut later. The browser will stay on pg#2 and won't go to pg#1 even though the path in URLS is different between the two views. It is almost like Django decides that since I have already visited view#1, it doesn't need to fetch it again. This problem or behavior doesn't happen if I move the same code that handle the two views and the templates to a bare bone test project. Setup: I am using django-registration, context session. I am not using any HTML caching tag. I already have DEBUG turned on in my settings.py. Are there other ways that I can tell what the server is doing. • Integration test for H1 text failing when it should be passing (Rspec and Capybara)

  Below you can see my test for what happens when a user tries to access the page to edit a profile photo that they don't own. I've used the same test on the NEW action, where it worked fine, but it surprised me by failing when I copied it down to the EDIT action tests. I've used save_and_open_page to test what Capybara's seeing (as you can see below); the resulting page definitely has an h1 with the specified text in it. No spelling errors, and case is all the same as in the test. I've tried using both have_css and have_selector. Both fail. I'm still learning Ruby, Rails, Rspec and especially Capybara (was using webrat previously and recently switched over), and wonder if I'm misconceiving of something that's making me expect this to pass when it doesn't. Any thoughts?   Android has the Gmail push features, which means the new message arrives in the mailbox without checking or refreshing the mailbox. As I understand, the sync processes are like these: 1) User turns on the sync 2) There will be a alert msg and the sync flag in the Gmail DB of this device will be True 3) When a new email reach the Gmail Server, it will check if the device sync value, if it's True then send the email OK, here, I don't quite understand how exactly does it work, For a WiFi and cell signal connection, does the phone has a TCP socket open keep listening to the Gmail Server, or when a new email arrives the Server send a SMS alert to the phone, and then it will open the data channel to fetch the email? Are the two ways of connections have different approaches? And second question is which method is the priority one? Say when you are in the middle of receiving data(emails), and suddenly the phone connect to a wireless network, will the data socket be closed and then reopened for the WiFi one? What's the behavior for the case when carrier's data channel and WiFi flips? I have also downloaded the source code, anyone knows which part should I be looking into in order to solves my questions? I found a folder called "email" inside the folder "package", should I be looking at its code? I know I asked quite some questions here, I'd appreciate if you know the answer for any of them, thanks very much!

• Usability for notification messages, colors

  In each app I develop, I like to add three types of messages: Green/blue for success messages Yellow for warnings Red for errors And perhaps, a neutral one for information, which is gray or blue if the success one is green. The success one is used for when an item is created or updated, the yellow one is when there's something wrong, but not we-are-going-to-die wrong and the red one is when something is blocked or we are going to die. However, there's one thing I can't figure out, when I delete an object, what kind of notification should I use? I think the success one is not because it is not expected, altough the deletion was successful, the user tends not to read the message, just to see the color. The red one might be, but it can be misunderstood (I tried to delete it but there was an error), the warning and the information one might be good choices, but I'm not really sure. Also, when you ask for confirmation about deleting something, the 'cancel' button should be green or red? I'm just curious how you guys handle this. Thanks.

So in Mock.Setup() I defined the range as from 0 to 50 while later I actually called the Generate() method with a range from 1 to 100. I ran the test and it failed. I know that that is what it's supposed to happen but I was left wondering if isn't there a way to launch an exception or throw in a message when trying to run the method with wrong params. Also, if I want to run this Generate() method 10 times with different values (let's say, from 1 to 10), will I have to make 10 mock setups or something, or is there a special method for it? The best I could think of is this (which isn't bad, I'm just asking if there is other better way): for (int i = 1; i < 10; ++i) { mock.Setup(framework => framework.Generate(1, 100)) .Returns((double)i); }

  I have to send out letters to certain clients and I have a standard letter that I need to use. I want to replace some of the text inside the body of the message with variables. • iPhone SDK File Handler with iOS 4 Background Processes

  The "application:applicationDidFinishLaunchingWithOptions:" message does not get called when an application is sitting in the background in iOS 4, and I'm trying to figure out how to be notified when the application is brought back into the foreground by another application. My application registers itself as a handler for certain file types, and Safari and other supported applications allow passing the files over to my app. This works great if the app is closed before I try to use it, but fails otherwise. In my application:applicationDidFinishLaunchingWithOptions: I have: NSURL *url = (NSURL *)[launchOptions valueForKey:UIApplicationLaunchOptionsURLKey]; if([url isFileURL]) { } [self.window makeKeyAndVisible]; return YES; As stated already, this works great so far for starting the app when it's not sitting in the background - but when I switch back over to Safari or Mail and try to open a new file that is supported, my application wakes up from the background and becomes active again but I can't see any "withOptions" overrides for application:applicationWillEnterForeground: or any way to identify what was passed in when it enters the foreground. What would be the appropriate way to receive these "open file notifications" when the application is in the background?

• Strange Puzzle - Invalid memory access of location

  The error message I'm getting consistently is: Invalid memory access of location 0x8 rip=0x10cf4ab28 What I'm doing is making a basic stock backtesting system, that is iterating huge arrays of stocks/historical data across various algorithms, using java + eclipse on the latest Mac Os X. I tracked down the code that seems to be causing it. A method that is used to get the massive arrays of data and is called thousands of times. Nothing is retained so I don't think there is a memory leak. However there seems to be a set limit of around 7000 times I can iterate over it before I get the memory error. The weird thing is that it works perfectly in debug mode. Does anyone know what debug mode does differently in Eclipse? Giving the jvm more memory doesn't help, and it appears to work fine using -xint. • Application crash

  I have an application that, as any other app, crashes once in a while for various reasons. When it crashes, it does it gracefully and the users get a nice message of the crash. At the same time the crash is reported on the server for analysis so it can be fixed in future versions. However, I would like that the app keeps working through the crash. What that means is that I would like to run the forms in an 'atomic' way. If it goes down, it doesn't take down the entire app. The users should just need to start over the work done with the particular form. Is this something that can be done through architecture? Or maybe the new framework versions has something to aid this? The application is build mostly in C# over the 3.5 framework, but it also uses some external references, some COMs and web service references. I am not interested in an answer: 'well fix the crashes'. Me and my team and the testing team are working round the clock for this.

API Error Code: 2 API Error Description: Service temporarily unavailable Error Message: User can't send this request: Unknown error I've checked it, and found out, that after selecting friends and clicking send dialog changes location to http://www.facebook.com/dialog/apprequest, the error occures, and than after clicking "ok" it changes location to redirect_uri. • Return HTML from a user selection

  I have the following, very simple html page... <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> function alertSelection() { var selection = window.getSelection(); var txt = selection.toString(); alert(txt); } </script> </head> <body> This is <span style="background-color:black;color:white">the</span> text. <div style="background-color:green;width:30px;height:30px;margin:30px" onmouseover="alertSelection()"> </body> </html> When I select the entire first line and mouseover the square, I get an alert with "This is the text.". How would I fix this so the the span tag or any other selected HTML isn't stripped out of the alert message?

• Emacs - nxhtml-mode - memory full

  working with nxhtml-mode in emacs, I get problems since a few weeks. While working emacs pauses unexpectingly until showing a message in the mode line "!MEM FULL!"; obviously nxhtml-mode is filling up the memory until emacs stopps to work. I am working with html, php and css files. I have no idea how I could debug this problem in a meaningfull way. Also I seem to be the only one to have this problem, because googling did not deliver any answers to this question. I am using emacs 2.32 on an Linux Mint 11 system. I can not find out the verson of nxhtml, it says revision 829 downloaded from http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~nxhtml/nxhtml/main/revision/829. I set up a test scenario with a minimal dot-emacs just to test the nxhtml-mode. It seemed to be alright, but it does not reflect my productive set up. It would probably take a week or so to gradually include everything I used to use within emacs (e.g. org-mode) while testing whether nxhtml-mode does not like anything, which is called in my dot-emacs file. Is there another way? Can I find out, what causes the memory overload? Does anyone has similar problems using nxhtml-mode? Greetings Martin

• Sanitizing user input before adding it to the DOM in Javascript

  I'm writing the JS for a chat application I'm working on in my free time, and I need to have HTML identifiers that change according to user submitted data. This is usually something conceptually shaky enough that I would not even attempt it, but I don't see myself having much of a choice this time. What I need to do then is to escape the HTML id to make sure it won't allow for XSS or breaking HTML. Here's the code: var user_id = escape(id) var txt = '<div class="chut">'+ '<div class="log" id="chut_'+user_id+'"></div>'+ '<textarea id="chut_'+user_id+'_msg"></textarea>'+ '<label for="chut_'+user_id+'_to">To:</label>'+ '<input type="text" id="chut_'+user_id+'_to" value='+user_id+' readonly="readonly" />'+ '<input type="submit" id="chut_'+user_id+'_send" value="Message"/>'+ '</div>'; What would be the best way to escape id to avoid any kind of problem mentioned above? As you can see, right now I'm using the built-in escape() function, but I'm not sure of how good this is supposed to be compared to other alternatives. I'm mostly used to sanitizing input before it goes in a text node, not an id itself.

• Iterating over a String to check for a number and printing out the String value if it doesn't have a number

  I have set up my function for checking for a number in a String, and printing out that String if it has no numbers, and putting up an error message if it does. Here is my code: public class NumberFunction { public boolean containsNbr(String str) { boolean containsNbr = false; if(str != null && !str.isEmpty()) { for(char c : str.toCharArray()) { if(containsNbr = Character.isDigit(c)) { System.out.println("Can't contain numbers in the word."); break; } else { System.out.println(str); } } } return containsNbr; } } import com.imports.validationexample.function.NumberFunction; public class Main { public static void main(String[] args) { NumberFunction nf = new NumberFunction(); System.out.println(nf.containsNbr("bill4")); } } I am trying to get it to print out the result to the console, but the result keeps printing multiple times and prints the boolean value, which I do not want, something like this: bill4 bill4 bill4 bill4 Can't contain numbers in the word. true Why is this happening? I've tried casting but that hasn't worked out either. Any help would be much appreciated.
