  http://www.example.com points correctly to the IP address of the server where the site is hosted. http://example.com (notice the lack of www) points to a different IP address. The DNS records for the domain have no reference to this foreign IP address - what might be causing this?

  I'm learning to use IIS 7 but I don't understand how I can make my website available through a domain. I have a domain as example I will call it www.test.com I have made a website in IIS, running on port 80 and can be viewed by typing the IP of the server in the address bar of my browser. So if I type www.test.com in the address bar how do I make my IIS website show up, without a redirect of course, I don't want users to see the IP in the address bar.

  I am writing an asp.net application that exposes data in 2 ways: 1 - 1 common section that all users can see 2 - a Section that displays data specific to a registered user. in this case the user can decide how it looks (through themes), and manage the data to be displayed. Of course, the logic behind is the same, appearance would be different for as user1 and user2 The questions are : What would be best using : 'http://www.site.com/User1' or 'http://user1.site.com'. knowing that in both cases i have to make the displayed pages look like a seperate site then the root domain in anycase, the pages that will be displayed and customized on the fly are located in a subfolder of the of the asp.net project (projectrootpath\personalpages). What is the best way to map the personalpages subfolder to a subdomain or a 'http://www.site.com/userX' in the address bar. i also use "~/" in the urls which in this case needs to point to the personalpages rather then the root . Any help is gretaly apreciated.

  I've got two Java projects, both generate Java classes based on a schema definition, I'm using xjc to create the classes. My second project depends on a class from the first project, and in particular, one of the classes I'd like to generate in my second project needs to use one of the types from the first project. To accomplish this dependency at the schema level, I'm using a simple xsd:import to map the namespace to a particular schema. JAXB works just fine with this condition, except it also generates the first project's types in the second project. So after running have something like this: Project A +-- com.foo.bar +-- TypeA Project B +-- com.foo.asdf +-- TypeB +-- com.foo.bar +-- TypeA The second "TypeA" is undesirable, and I'd like to never generate it in the first place. How do I instruct JAXB not to generate the classes for "TypeA" that it finds as a result of the import statement?

  I'm currently trying to write a script in RoR to go into my PGAdmin database and look at a list of users, THEN ignore users that have an image path but look at users who don't have one and then upload a link of a generic photo into their row. • Using 'Copy as cURL' from Chrome in windows command line

  So, Google Chrome as this great 'copy as cURL' option under 'Network' of the Chrome DevTools. Works great in command lines for linux but not in windows. Apparently it has something to do with the single quotes as the error I get is protocol 'http not supported In other words its reading that single quote. Is there a simple way to make this formatable for windows? I tried replacing all the single quotes with double quotes but then nothing happens at all. • Deny http access to a directory, allow access from WordPress plugin

  Hey. I need to prevent direct access to http://www.site.com/wp-content/uploads/folder/something.pdf through the browser. However the Download Monitor plugin I am using, which allows logged in users to download the file, needs to be able to work. Trying Order Allow,Deny Deny from all Allow from all but the download links do not now work... even though (I think) they are links produced by the script e.g. http://www.site.com/wp-content/plugins/download-monitor/download.php?id=something.pdf Enter that in the address bar and you correctly get a WordPress message, 'You must be logged in to download this file.' However, if someone knows the URL where the file was uploaded http://www.site.com/wp-content/uploads/folder/something.pdf they can still access it directly. I don't know how (guesswork?) they would find the direct URL anyway, but the client wants it stopped! Thanks for any help.

However, I have a list of URLs that must be excluded (for exmaple, ANY (wildcards) internal link (eg. pokerdiy.com) - so that any internal link that has my domain name in is excluded from this. Isn't dev higher than beta? • Rendering inconsistencies in Internet Explorer

  Hello, I have some weird problem in rendering some xhtml in IE 8 http://img709.imageshack.us/i/scrj.png/. Here is the screenshot. As shown the greet me submit button is higher than the text field. Which is kind of odd. I checked with some other browsers and it works fine, it also works fine on Windows 7 with IE 8. • cPanel Domain Aliases Messing Up DNS?

  Hi guys I have an issue, on my main domain when I added subdomain aliases it broke access via www and none of the sub domain aliases work. When I do it for other domains however it works. The main nameservers for this domain are ns1.domain.com and ns2.domain.com. Could it be because they are the domain servers this cannot work correctly? This worked fine in plesk, its just weird its breaking in cPanel.

As far as I can tell, this seems to "work" -- JavaApplicationStub launches my application when I double click the file. However, no callback is registered through the ApplicationListener events I setup in java. I used the code listed in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1460193/set-default-file-association-mac-os-x-java-package-maker-installer to do the file association, and the file association itself appears fine, but it seems as if it is the application stub trying to launch the file, and thus fails. I added the Apple ApplicatinListener code to my java application at (similar to http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/documentation/Java/Reference/1.5.0/appledoc/api/index.html?com/apple/eawt/Application.html) but it doesn't seem like my application ever gets a call back. the code is similar to Application.getApplicatin().addApplicationListener( new ApplicationAdapter() { public void handleOpenFile(ApplicationEvent evt) { //some logging message here that I never get} }); I should perhaps mention that I'm also using SWT... Any help would be appreciated

  I'm trying to retrieve the messageId for the email being sent. I've tried explicitly setting the messageId just before sending, like this: $mail->setHeader('messageId',ezcMailTools::generateMessageId('example.com')); I then return the messageId after sending, like this: return $mail->getHeader('messageId'); ... but the counter portion of the Id is always off by one. For example, the return value will be: 201003191011957.14801.0@example.com ... but the actual messageId will be: 201003191011957.14801.1@example.com Returning the messageId header value without explicitly setting it first returns a blank string. How can I retrieve this value?

  In ASP.NET I'd like to create a link which points to a specific Uri and send this link in an email to a user, for instance something like http://www.BlaBla.com/CustomerPortal/Order/9876. I can create the second part of the Uri /CustomerPortal/Order/9876 dynamically in code-behind. My question is: How can I create the base Uri http://www.BlaBla.com without hardcoding it in my application? Basically I want to have something like: http://localhost:1234/CustomerPortal/Order/9876 (on my development machine) http://testserver/CustomerPortal/Order/9876 (on an internal test server) http://www.BlaBla.com/CustomerPortal/Order/9876 (on the production server) So is there a way to ask the server where the application is running: "Please tell me the base Uri of the application" ? I have two different webistes both with their own dedicted ip address. sitea.com = xx.xx.xx.43 siteb.com = xx.xx.xx.44 Im using hmailserver to host our emails and have the smtp bound to the ip address of xx.xx.xx.42 im aware that i can set up a spf record to state that the what servers emails can be sent from v=spf1 mx ip4:xx.xx.xx.43 mx:mail.sitea.com ip4:xx.xx.xx.42 -all Would the fact that email are not sent from the sites ip's be causing them to be flagged as junk. • Google chat badge not working anymore?

  I was using google talk chat badge (chatback - small iframe code that enables remote user to chat with you as anonymous) for some years but now it is not working anymore. The generated code is fine as it seems it opens a new window and all but after a second, it redirects to support.google.com page which of course is not of much use. I rechecked the code, generated new code, didn't help. Again redirects to support.google.com. The code is generated from http://www.google.com/talk/service/badge/New Anyone knows what's going on? Have they discontinued it or? Also, a suggestion - is there any alternative web-presence button like that for other messengers which don't require client on other end. For Skype, Windows Live or some other messenger?
