  • Cannot use a Like query in a JSP prepared statement?

    - by SeerUK
    OK, first the query code and query: ps = conn.prepareStatement("select instance_id, ? from eam_measurement where resource_id in (select RESOURCE_ID from eam_res_grp_res_map where resource_group_id = ?) and DSN like '?' order by 2"); ps.setString(1,"SUBSTR(DSN,27,16)"); ps.setInt(2,defaultWasGroup); ps.setString(3,"%Module=jvmRuntimeModule:freeMemory%"); rs = ps.executeQuery(); while (rs.next()) { bla blah blah blah ... Returns an empty resultSet. Through basic debugging I have found its the 3rd bind that is the problem i.e. DSN like '?' I have tried all kinds of variations, the most sensible of which seemed to be using: DSN like concat('%',?,'%') bit that doesn' work as I am missing the ' ' either side of the concatenated string so I try DSN like ' concat('%',Module=P_STAG_JDBC01:poolSize,'%') ' order by 2 but I just can't seem to find a way to get them in that works. What am I missing? :) Thanks!

  • How is this statement making sense? (Sun's naming convention for Java variables)

    - by polygenelubricants
    I've been quoting this segment from Sun's document for the past few days, and only now do I stop and think about what it's saying, and I can't make sense out of it. Please keep in mind that English is not my first language. Naming conventions Variables: Except for variables, all instance, class, and class constants are in mixed case with a lowercase first letter. How is this making sense? Isn't this saying that class names are in mixed case with a lowercase first letter? Like I should name it class myClass? And class constants are also in mixed case with a lowercase first letter? Like I should name it Integer.maxValue? And is it really saying anything about how variables themselves should be named? Am I not parsing this properly or is this actually a blatant error?

  • MYSQL how to ignore a table in a 3 table query if it doesnt satisfy the statement

    - by user165242
    I am trying to have information displayed for this query: SELECT o.sub_number,o.unique_id,o.period_from,o.period_to,o.total_amt,i.paid_amt,i.dated,i.payment,i.paid_by,i.entered_date,i.paid_for_unique,j.cheque_num,j.drawn_on,j.dated AS cheque_dated FROM paid_details o, payment_details i,cheque j WHERE o.unique_id=i.unique_id AND o.unique_id=j.unique_id AND o.sub_number IN(SELECT sub_number FROM paid_details WHERE unique_id LIKE '%1271437707%'); it flops. Well the problem is sometimes the cheque might not have any information in it. So how do i get MYSQL to ignore that table and still continue displaying the rest of the information? thanks!

  • IIS redirects to url beginning with "http://http" although syntax in web.config file appears to be alright

    - by user1608920
    Here's what I have so far: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <configuration> <location path="osb"> <system.webServer> <httpRedirect enabled="true" exactDestination="true" destination="http://50.63.54.135/app/osb" httpResponseStatus="Permanent" /> </system.webServer> </location> </configuration> The above redirect works, but it takes me to http://http//50.63.54.135/app/osb instead of just http://50.63.54.135/app/osb This produces an 404 error. I tried to remove "http://" from destination. Same effect. What am I missing ?

  • Is it possible to refactor this C# if(..) statement?

    - by Pure.Krome
    Hi folks, simple question :- i have the following simple if (..) statements :- if (foo == Animal.Cat || foo == Animal.Dog) { .. } if (baa == 1|| baa == 69) { .. } is it possible to refactor these into something like ... DISCLAIMER: I know this doesn't compile .. but this is sorta what i'm trying to get... if (foo == (Animal.Cat || Animal.Dog)) { .. } if (baa == (1 || 69)) { .. } Cheers :) EDIT I wonder if a lambda expression extension could do this? :P

  • How to make if-elif-else statement in python more space-saving?

    - by Neverland
    I have a lot of if-elif-else statements in my code if message == '0' or message == '3' or message == '5' or message == '7': ... elif message == '1' or message == '2' or message == '4' or message == '6' or message == '8': ... else: ... Is it possible to format this in a more space-saving way? I tried it this way: if message == '0' or '3' or '5' or '7': ... elif message == '1' or '2' or '4' or '6' or '8': ... else: ... • What is the proper syntax for getting a Makefile to print the output directory of one of its output zip files?

    - by 9exceptionThrower9
    I'm trying to edit an Android Makefile in the hopes of getting it to print out the directory (path) location of one the ZIP files it creates. Ideally, since the build process is long and does many things, I would like for it print out the pathway to the ZIP file to a text file in a different directory I can access later: Pseudo-code idea: # print the desired pathway to output file print(getDirectoryOf(variable-name.zip)) > ~/Desktop/location_of_file.txt The Makefile snippet where I would like to insert this new bit of code is shown below. I am interested in finding the directory of $(name).zip (that is specific file I want to locate): # ----------------------------------------------------------------- # A zip of the directories that map to the target filesystem. # This zip can be used to create an OTA package or filesystem image # as a post-build step. # name := $(TARGET_PRODUCT) ifeq ($(TARGET_BUILD_TYPE),debug) name := $(name)_debug endif name := $(name)-target_files-$(FILE_NAME_TAG) intermediates := $(call intermediates-dir-for,PACKAGING,target_files) BUILT_TARGET_FILES_PACKAGE := $(intermediates)/$(name).zip $(BUILT_TARGET_FILES_PACKAGE): intermediates := $(intermediates) $(BUILT_TARGET_FILES_PACKAGE): \ zip_root := $(intermediates)/$(name) # $(1): Directory to copy # $(2): Location to copy it to # The "ls -A" is to prevent "acp s/* d" from failing if s is empty. define package_files-copy-root if [ -d "$(strip $(1))" -a "$$(ls -A $(1))" ]; then \ mkdir -p $(2) && \ $(ACP) -rd $(strip $(1))/* $(2); \ fi endef

  • Do you use logical negation operator (!) in "if" statement or check on "== false"

    - by Taras Terebkov
    Hello everyone, I just want to conduct a little survey about code style developers prefer. For me there are two ways to write "if" in such languages as Java, C#, C++, etc. (1) Logical negation operator public void foo() { if (!SessionManager.getInstance().hasActiveSession()) { . . . . . } } (2) Check on "false" public void foo() { if (SessionManager.getInstance().hasActiveSession() == false) { . . . . . } } I always believe that first way is much worst then the second one. Cause usually you don't "read" the code, but "recognize" it in one brief look. And exclamation symbol slipped from your mind, just disturbing you somewhere on the bottom of your unconscious. And only during reading the "if" block below you understand, that the logic is opposite - no sessions in "if" On the other hand in the second way of writing, an eye immediately catches words "SessionManager", "hasActiveSession" and "false". Also for me, the situation with "true" is different. In code like class SessionManager { private bool hasSession; public void foo() { if (hasSession == true) { . . . . . } else { . . . . . } } } I find "true" superfluous. why we repeating the sentence two times? The following is shorter and quicker to catch. class SessionManager { private bool hasSession; public void foo() { if (hasSession) { . . . . . } else { . . . . . } } } What do YOU think, guys?

  • How do I run multiple objects through an IF statement in rails?

    - by codyvbrown
    I am creating an application that highlights user messages from a stream based on whether or not the user has been 'vouched'. It works fine if it's setup for a single author. For example controller: @vouch = Vouch.last.vouched_user_nickname view: <% if tweet.from_user == @vouch %> <div class="flit_message_containerh">.... But I'm having trouble doing it for multiple user nicknames. @vouch = Vouch.find(:all, :select => "vouched_user_nickname", :group => 'vouched_user_nickname' ) Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'm a rails noob.

  • Why the valid looking statement gives error in MATLAB?

    - by user198729
    It's from this question? Why the two solutions doesn't work, though it looks very valid for me: >> t = -pi:0.1:pi; >> r = ((sin(t)*sqrt(cos(t)))*(sin(t) + (7/5))^(-1)) - 2*sin(t) + 2 ; ??? Error using ==> mtimes Inner matrix dimensions must agree. >> t = -pi:0.1:pi; >> r = ((sin(t).*sqrt(cos(t))).*(sin(t) + (7/5)).^(-1)) - 2*sin(t) + 2 ; >> plot(r,t) ??? Error using ==> plot Vectors must be the same lengths. What's wrong with the above?

  • why doesnt' nhibernate support this "exists in list" syntax ??

    - by ooo
    i have the following query and its failing in Nhibernate 3 LINQ witha a "Non supported" exception. Its similar to this question but this question was asked over a year ago so i am positive that the answer is out of date. My DB tables are: VacationRequest (id, personId) VacationRequestDate (id, vacationRequestId) Person (id, FirstName, LastName) My Entities are: VacationRequest (Person, IList) VacationRequestDate (VacationRequest, Date) Here is the query that is getting a "Non supported" Exception Session.Query<VacationRequestDate>() .Where(r => people .Contains(r.VacationRequest.Person, new PersonComparer())) .Fetch(r=>r.VacationRequest) .ToList(); is there a better way to write this that would be supported in Nhibernate? fyi . .the PersonComparer just compared person.Id

  • Will lock() statement block all threads in the proccess/appdomain?

    - by MikeJ
    Maybe the question sounds silly, but I don't understand 'something about threads and locking and I would like to get a confirmation (here's why I ask). So, if I have 10 servers and 10 request in the same time come to each server, that's 100 request across the farm. Without locking, thats 100 request to the database. If I do something like this: private static readonly object myLockHolder = new object(); if (Cache[key] == null) { lock(myLockHolder) { if (Cache[key] == null) { Cache[key] = LengthyDatabaseCall(); } } } How many database requests will I do? 10? 100? Or as much as I have threads?
