• ANTLR Tree Grammar and StringTemplate Code Translation

  I am working on a code translation project with a sample ANTLR tree grammar as: start: ^(PROGRAM declaration+) -> program_decl_tmpl(); declaration: class_decl | interface_decl; class_decl: ^(CLASS ^(ID CLASS_IDENTIFIER)) -> class_decl_tmpl(cid={$CLASS_IDENTIFIER.text}); The group template file for it looks like: group My; program_decl_tmpl() ::= << *WHAT?* >> class_decl_tmpl(cid) ::= << public class <cid> {} >> Based on this, I have these questions: Everything works fine apart from that what I should express in WHAT? to say that a program is simply a list of class declarations to get the final generated output? Is this approach averagely suitable for not so a high-level language? I have also studied ANTLR Code Translation with String Templates, but it seems that this approach takes much advantage of interleaving code in tree grammar. Is it also possible to do it as much as possible just in String Templates?

• Inactive area after device rotation

  Hi all, I don't understand what's wrong in my very simple application with device rotation : I built my view with interface builder. (See screen capture here) I specified <key>UIInterfaceOrientation</key><string>UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight</string> in my info.plist file. I had a (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation {return YES;} in my root view controller. The area on the left (shown in red on the capture), around 20 pixel width, keeps inactive (nothing append if I hit a button in this area). In fact the full screen is active only in portrait mode, in landscape right mode there is this 20 pixels width inactive area, in landscape left mode this inactive area is on the right, in portrait upside down mode this area is on the bottom. I read lots of posts and documentation about UIView rotation, but I did not find anything to solve this problem (I tried to play with view.frame and view.bounds without any success). • C# HTML tags inside GridView

  I have a SharePoint web part that I wrote in C# which is used to display SQL Server data based on user selections. I pull the data with a DataReader, fill a DataSet with it, and set that DataSet as the DataSource in a GridView and add that control to my page. The only problem I'm facing is that line breaks in the data fields are not being rendered at all. I'm simply getting a block of text that ignores the breaks that are present in the database when it's rendered to HTML. I tried a regex: Regex rgx = new Regex("\n"); string inputStr = Convert.ToString(dr[x]); string outputStr = rgx.Replace(inputStr, "<br />"); newRow[ds3.Tables["Bobst Specs 3"].Columns[x]] = outputStr; While that does detect and replace the newlines, I merely get the text "" with no line breaks. I also tried changing my SQL query to something along the lines of: SELECT REPLACE (fldCustomerName, '. ', '.' + @NewLineChar) This apparently renders more newlines. I can see that they are present, because if I also insert the regex they are affected, but do not create line breaks. I'm not sure how to replace these, and what with, to get the lines to actually break.

  I have a piece of SQL that I want to translate to OCL. I'm not good at SQL so I want to increase maintainability by this. We are using Interbase 2009, Delphi 2007 with Bold and modeldriven development. In fact the query above give one hit from 28000 records. In OCL it is easy to list all instances: ScaniaEdiSolMessage.allinstances Also easy to filter rows by select for example: ScaniaEdiSolMessage.allinstances->select(shipFromFinland and not invalidated) But I do not understand how I should make a OCL to match the SQL above.

• sending a selected value from a dropdownlist to a servlet with xhr

  I am trying to send the clicked value of a dropdown list to my servlet to run a SQL query using the value received. When I select a value from the JSP that construct the dropdown list and from which the function showProject is handled the same thing is happned. It returns always null. So the parameter(idprj) is not passed anyway. How can I handle with this. I need to send the selected value to the servlet to run my SQL query.

• building jquery checkbox - can't set checked value

  this seems straightforward enough, I don't know if it's a bug, or just something I'm doing wrong. What I want to do is build a checkbox input in jquery, then return the string of the input. I have this code: var obj = $('<input>'); obj.attr('disabled', 'disabled'); obj.attr('type', 'checkbox'); obj.attr('checked', 'checked'); // this does not work! no matter how i try to render this obj, the 'checked' attribute never gets outputted. So I have tried: $('<div>').append(obj).remove().html(); and it returns: <input type="checkbox" disabled="disabled" /> I have tried setting an id attribute, it makes no difference. I have also tried this but it doesn't work: obj.attr('checked', true); Any suggestions on how to get the input tag rendered with the checked attribute set to 'checked' (via jquery)? I realise I can just do this with string concatenation, but now I really want to know why it's not working the way it should.

• Restful WCF Service - how to send data with illegal XML characters?

  I have a RESTful WCF web service. One of my methods has several input parameters. One of the input parameters is a string. Some times the data I am passing to this web method will include content that has one or more "illegal characters" - i.e. "&". So, I replace this with &amp; before passing it to the web service - but it still throws an exception. The exception isn't visible, as the data never reaches the web service, but I know that it is this content that is causing the problem, as I have done several tests sending data that doesn't contain an illegal XML character, and every time it worked, but any data containing "&" will fail. Am I not supposed to replace "&" with &amp;? • Passing Key-Value pair to a COM method in C#

  Hello, I have the following problem: I have a project in C# .Net where I use a third party COM component. So the problem is that the above component has a method, which takes a string and a number of key-value pairs as arguments. I already managed to call that method through JavaScript like that: var srcName srcName = top.cadView.addSource( 'Database', { driver : 'Oracle', host : '10.10.1.123', port : 1234, database : 'someSID', user : 'someuser', password : 'somepass' } ) if ( srcName != '' ) { ... } ... and it worked perfectly well. However I have no idea how to do the same using C#. I tried passing the pairs as Dictionary and Struct/Class but it throws me a "Specified cast is not valid." exception. I also tried using Hashtable like that: Hashtable args = new Hashtable(); args.Add("driver", "Oracle"); args.Add("host", "10.10.1.123"); args.Add("port", 1234); args.Add("database", "someSID"); args.Add("user", "someUser"); args.Add("password", "samePass"); String srcName = axCVCanvas.addSource("Database", args); and although it doesn't throw an exception it still won't do the job, writing me in a log file [ Error] [14:38:33.281] Cad::SourceDB::SourceDB(): missing parameter 'driver' Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

• What is the best way to get an audio file duration in Android?

  Hi! I'm using a SoundPool [ 1 ] to play audio clips in my app. All is fine but I need to know when the clip playback has finished. At the moment I track it in my app by obtaining the duration of each clip using a MediaPlayer [ 2 ] instance. That works fine but it looks wasteful to load each file twice, just to get the duration. I could roughly calculate the duration myself knowing the length of the file (available from the AssetFileDescriptor [ 3 ]) but I'd still need to know the sample rate and the number of channels. I see two potential solutions to that problem: Figuring out when a clip has finished playing (doesn't seem to be possible with SoundClip). Having a class which could load just the header of an audio file and give me the sample rate/number of channels (and, ideally, the sample count to get the exact duration). Any suggestions? • Creating Multiple TextFields in runtime AS2

  Hi lads, I have an issue generating multiple text fields in AS2. My AS2 Flash application calls database (via PHP) and then receives XML file that contains a few objects. All I want to do is to loop throught this XML objects and then create a TextField (actually a Component that contains graphics and TextField, but this will come later) based on the information from XML object. I know that I can create something like: _root.createTextField("myText1",1,0,0,100,20); myText1.text = "this is text ONE"; _root.createTextField("myText2",2,0,30,100,20); myText2.text = "this is text TWO"; which will result in 2 text fields, but the problem is when I try to create it dynamicly (e.g. I have item: myNode[0].attributes.name (but when I use it in: _root.createTextField(myNode[0].attributes.name, 1, 0, 0, 100, 20), then I got compile error). var myXML:XML = new XML(); myXML.ignoreWhite=true; myXML.load("tekst.xml"); var tekst:String = new String(); myXML.onLoad = function(success){ if (success){ var myNode = myXML.firstChild.childNodes; for (i=0; i trace("height: "+myNode[i].attributes.height); trace("color: "+myNode[i].attributes.color); trace(myNode[i].firstChild.nodeValue); } } } This actualy traces the values and I can actualy use them when creating the component, but it doesn't create the component that has the same name (obviously both instances point to the same object so the last is only visible). • Call WCF Service Through Javascript, AJAX, or JQuery

  I created a number of standard WCF Services (Service Contract and Host (svc) are in separate assemblies). I fired up a Web Site in IIS to host the Services (i.e., address is http://services:1000/wcfservices.svc). Then in my Web Site project I added the reference. I am able to call the services normally. I am needed to call some of the services client side. Not sure if I should be looking at articles calling WCF services through AJAX, JQuery, or JSON enabled WCF Services. Can anyone provide any thoughts or experience with configuring as such?   When using Xml serialization in C#, I want to deserialize a part of my input XML to an XmlNode. So, given this XML: <Thing Name="George"> <Document> <subnode1/> <subnode2/> </Document> </Thing> I want to deserialize the Document element to an XmlNode. Below is my attempt which given the XML above, sets Document to the 'subnode1' element rather than the 'Document' element.   I would like to randomly iterate through a range. Each value will be visited only once and all values will eventually be visited. My problem is that shuffle needs to operate on an array, which is not cool because I am working with astronomically large numbers. Ruby will quickly consume a large amount of RAM trying to create a monstrous array. Imagine replacing (0..9) with (0..99**99). This is also why the following code will not work: tried = {} # store previous attempts bigint = 99**99 bigint.times { x = rand(bigint) redo if tried[x] tried[x] = true f(x) # some function } This code is very naive and quickly runs out of memory as tried obtains more entries. I'm trying to exhaust the search space of a hash algorithm for a N-length input string looking for partial collisions. Each number I generate is equivalent to a unique input string, entropy and all. Basically, I'm "counting" using a custom alphabet. [Edit2]: This means that f(x) in the above examples is a method that generates a hash and compares it to a constant, target hash for partial collisions. • IIS 7.5 can't access file from managed code

  I am working on a project that is click-once deployed from an IIS 7.5 web server. After installing the parent application (i.e. setting up the IIS site) I am able to hit the url for the click-once app's config file from a remote box. HOWEVER, when I attempt to do the same thing from my app (and the stub app below), I get a 401 Unauthorized. What is the difference between hitting the URL from IE, and from a .NET app? The file and directory itself have full control granted to everyone on the webserver at the moment, and I am an admin on the box. We are using Windows Authentication with NTLM only. • Exception Handling in ASP.NET MVC and Ajax - [HandleException] filter

  All, I'm learning MVC and using it for a business app (MVC 1.0). I'm really struggling to get my head around exception handling. I've spent a lot of time on the web but not found anything along the lines of what I'm after. We currently use a filter attribute that implements IExceptionFilter. We decorate a base controller class with this so all server side exceptions are nicely routed to an exception page that displays the error and performs logging. I've started to use AJAX calls that return JSON data but when the server side implementation throws an error, the filter is fired but the page does not redirect to the Error page - it just stays on the page that called the AJAX method. Is there any way to force the redirect on the server (e.g. a ASP.NET Server.Transfer or redirect?) I've read that I must return a JSON object (wrapping the .NET Exception) and then redirect on the client, but then I can't guarantee the client will redirect... but then (although I'm probably doing something wrong) the server attempts to redirect but then gets an unauthorised exception (the base controller is secured but the Exception controller is not as it does not inherit from this) Has anybody please got a simple example (.NET and jQuery code).   I want to read and write XML data over an SslStream. The data (written and read) consists of objects serialized by an XmlSerializer. I have tried the following; (left some details out for clarity!) TcpClient tcpClient = new TcpClient(server, port); SslStream sslStream = new SslStream(tcpClient.GetStream(), true, new RemoteCertificateValidationCallback(ValidateServerCertificate), null); sslStream.AuthenticateAsClient(server); XmlReader xmlReader = XmlReader.Create(sslStream,readerSettings); XmlWriter xmlWriter = XmlWriter.Create(sslStream,writerSettings); myClass c = new myClass (); XmlSerializer serializer = new XmlSerializer(typeof(myClass)); serializer.Serialize(xmlWriter, c); myClass c2 = (myClass )serializer.Deserialize(xmlReader); First of all, it appears that writing to the stream succeeds. But the XmlSerializer throws an error because of invalid XML. It appears that the first character read from the stream is '00' or a null-character. (I have googled this problem, and see a million people with the same 'problem', but no viable solution.) I can work around this 'issue' by using a StreamReader, read everything into a string and then use that string as input for another stream that the serializer can use. (Very dirty, but it works.) Second problem is, that when I try to use the same SslStream to write a second request, I do not get a response from the Reader. (The server DOES send a valid XML response though!) So the serializer.Serialize(xmlWriter, c3) works, but reading from the stream yields no results. I have tried several different classes that implement Stream. (StreamReader, XmlTextReader, etc.) Anyone has an idea how reading and writing XML data to and from an SslStream is supposed to work? Thanks in advance!

• jQuery aspx error function always called, even with apparently valid return data

  I am making an ajax call using jQuery (jquery-1.5.2.min.js). The server receives the call. fiddler shows the response text coming back apparently correct. But back in javascript my error: function is called instead of my success: function, and the data of the parameters to the error function don't give much clue as to the problem. But as I say, I see both the query go out and the response come back in Fiddler. Here is what Fiddler shows as the raw view of the response: HTTP/1.1 200 OK Date: Mon, 11 Apr 2011 17:49:25 GMT Content-Length: 8 Content-Type: application/text Server: CherryPy/3.2.0 { x: 0 } Looks good, but then back in javascript, I get into the error: function, with the following values for the parameters (as shown in firebug): errorThrown = "" jqXHR = Object { readyState=0, status=0, statusText="error"} statusText = "error" I don't know where that word "error" is coming from. That string does not appear anywhere in my cherrypy server code. Note that even though I'm returning a JSON string I've set the send and receive types to "text" for now, just to simplify in order to isolate the problem. Any ideas why I'm getting this "error" reply, even when errorThrown is empty? Could it be that I haven't properly "initialized" either jQuery or jQuery.ajax?

I'm trying to unit test an Action on my ASP.NET Mvc 2 Controller that utilizes a custom input model w/ DataAnnotions. My testing framework is xUnit, as mentioned in the title.
