  • Using a Time Zone Conversion When Dynamically Generating Results

    Hello, If I understand correctly, the code below converts $row["datesubmitted"] from one timezone to another. I would like to print the converted $row["datesubmitted"] dynamically in an HTML table. Is there a way that I can apply the conversion below for each row that is pulled from MySQL? I assume that I can't just plug $row["dt"] into the code since there is no field called "dt" in the MySQL that I am using.     My application is emailing out fine but the email I receive displays incorrectly. Rather than have text and a simple "click here to activate" link it doesn't. it shows this instead: Hi user1, please click the following link to activate your account <a href="http://mysite.com/activation/fzyZuyxVAzZS2koVg5UFjfVjlcLNcrzp">ssss</a> Here is the code from my model that sends email to user when they request activation email. $this->load->library('email'); $this->email->from('[email protected]', 'my site'); $this->email->to($result[0]->email); $this->email->subject('my site - Activate your account'); $this->email->message('Hi ' . $result[0]->first_name . ', please click the following link to activate your account ' . anchor('http://mysite.com/activation/' . $new_activation_code, 'click here to activate')); $this->email->send(); Also the mail always ends up in my spam folder.

  • Problem with IE 6 page loading.

    I have a website which works fine in all browsers except in IE6. The pages content is inside a div loaded with a background image. The page layout gets very nasty and image does not load when the page is opened for first time, but when the same page is opened for the second time and any subsequent times, then it loads perfectly. This scenario is with every page in the site. Please help.

    it's a task, on which i think during whole day. i have four integer numbers a, b, c, d, and ineger x[1,40]. i must write a program, which can find the values of {a,b,c,d}, for which one of following equations is true for any (x<=40, x=1) x=a or x=b or x=a+b or x=a+b+c+d or x+a=c+d or x+a+b=c+d or ... x+a+b+c=d or ... it is very difficult to explain what i want to say. maybe the example will be helpful. example: if x=17, by {a=1,b=2,c=5,d=15} i can write x+a+b=c+d whole question is to present any x[1,40] by {a,b,c,d}. hope that you understand what i want to say, and thanks in advance

    So the user may search for "10 mbit" after which I want to capture the "10" so I can use it in a speed-search rather than a string-search. This isn't a problem, the below regexp does this fine: if (preg_match("/(\d+)\smbit/", $string)){ ... } But, the user may search for something like "10/10 mbit" or "10-100 mbit". I don't want to match those with the above regexp - they should be handled in another fashion. So I would like a regexp that matches "10 mbit" if the number is all-numeric as a whole word (i.e. contained by whitespace, newline or lineend/linestart) Using lookbehind, I did this: if (preg_match("#(?<!/)(\d+)\s+mbit#i", $string)){ Just to catch those that doesn't have "/" before them, but this matched true for this string: "10/10 mbit" so I'm obviously doing something wrong here, but what?

    Here is my error: Warning: mysql_query() expects parameter 2 to be resource, null given... This refers to line 23 of my code which is: $result = mysql_query($sql, $connection) My entire query code looks like this: $query = "SELECT * from users WHERE userid='".intval( $_SESSION['SESS_USERID'] )."'"; $result = mysql_query($query, $connection) or die ("Couldn't perform query $query <br />".mysql_error()); $row = mysql_fetch_array($result); I don't have a clue what has happpened here. All I wanted to do was to have the value of the users 'fullname' displayed in the header section of my web page. So I am outputting this code immediately after to try and achieve this: echo 'Hello '; echo $row['fullname']; Before this change, I had it working perfectly, where the session variable of fullname was echoed $_SESSION['SESS_NAME']. However, because my user can update their information (including their name), I wanted the name displayed in the header to be updated accordingly, and not displaying the session value.

    Currently I'm using file_get_contents() to submit GET data to an array of sites, but upon execution of the page I get this error: Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded All I really want the script to do is start loading the webpage, and then leave. Each webpage may take up to 5 minutes to load fully, and I don't need it to load fully.   • MVC without ORM is not real MVC?

    at the moment im integrating ORM (doctrine) into a MVC framework (codeigniter). then it hit me that this was the obvious way of setting up a MVC: the controller calls the models that are representing database tables. look at this picture: MVC + ORM then i wondered, how can a MVC without ORM be real MVC? cause then the models are not real objects, rather aggregations of different functions that perform CRUD, then returning the result to the controller. and there is no need for a state (object properties) i guess so the functions would be all static? correct me if im wrong on this one. i guess a lot of people are using models without ORM. please share your thoughts. how do your models look like?

    imagecopyresized ( resource $dst_image , resource $src_image , int $dst_x , int $dst_y , int $src_x , int $src_y , int $dst_w , int $dst_h , int $src_w , int $src_h ) This is what I want to do: I have an image that's 600x1000px in size, and I want to create a thumb that's 100x100px after resizing that image to 300x500px, the x coordinate for the top left point of the thumb square should be at 100(src x) and 120(src y). According to what I understand from the manual, the command should be $dst_image = imagecreatetruecolor(100,100); $src_image = imagecreatefromjpeg('/home/sandbox/imagetoresize.jpg'); imagecopyresized ($dst_image, $src_image, 0, 0, 100, 120, **300 , 500 , 600 , 1000** ) It is cropping the image just fine, but it isn't resizing it correctly. I never got it to match what I see in my image editor (the GIMP). What am I doing wrong? I confirmed that all the numbers are correct, but it's always shifted up or down no matter what I do. Your help would really be appreciated!

    Hi Gang... Please don't beat me if this is elementary. I searched and found disjointed stuff relating to pseudo columns. Nothing spot on about what I need. Anyway... I have a table with some rows. Each record has a unique ID, an ID that relates to another entity and finally a comment that relates to that last entity. So, I want to COUNT these rows to basically find what entity has the most comments. Instead of me explaining the query, I'll print it SELECT entity_id, COUNT(*) AS amount FROM comments GROUP BY entity_id ORDER BY amount DESC The query does just what I want, but I want to echo the values from that pseudo column, 'amount' Can it be done, or should I use another method like mysql_num_rows?     I'm using custom WordPress categories for some probably unintended functions, I will admit (things like marking a post no/index just by adding it to my custom "no-index" category, etc). But it sucks that WordPress does not enable pages with all the little extras you get with posts. For example, while the post editor gives you convenient access to Tags, Categories, and a Post excerpt field, pages get left out in the cold. I'd like to know if its possible to add the These items to the Post editor via add_action() directive from a custom theme.

The objective is to keep their profile data on my website in sync with their profile data on facebook. So if a user updates their profile picture on facebook. I want to update his profile picture on my website as well via a cron job which will run every 24 hours. I wanted to know if this is possible and secondly if this is in violation of facebook privacy policy.     i was trying to get how many facebook likes an url got, through facebook graph api. to get the likes i need to get the content from this url: http://graph.facebook.com/?id=URL for example, try to get into this url: "graph.facebook.com/?id=http://stackoverflow.com" you will see how many "shares" the url got. shares is the sum of shares and likes, so every thing was working good when i was trying to this. the problem start when i use special charcters. when i using the "?" charcter everything work okey. but when i use "&" charcter the url cuts itself. try this: "graph.facebook.com/?id=http://stackoverflow.com?p=blabla&a=fsdf" you can see in this page that the id actullay cut itself when it get to the "&" charcter and the page ends like this: { "id": "http://stackoverflow.com?p=blabla" } sorry for my bad english...
