• Using css "active tab" technique on single page

  I'm building a navigation system using jquery scrollto. I have my navigation menu in a separate file (( navigation.php )). It is included in 5 locations on the first page (( 5 different sections w/ text following each )). I'm trying to figure out a way to have the current "tab" highlight'd. I could hard code the navigation in each location to ensure it shows up the correct way, but I'd rather use the phpinclude() method. The other issue is that each "tab" has it's own unique color (( cmykd )). Here is the alpha version of what I'm doing (( when you click && the page slides, the "active tab" still stays grey -- I'd like it to be the corresponding color )).   We have some problems with users performing a specific action twice, we have a mechanism to ensure that users can't do it but somehow it still happens. Here is how our current mechanism works: Client side: The button will be disabled after 1 click. Server side: We have a key hash in the URL which will be checked against the key stored in SESSIONS, once it matches, the key is deleted. Database side: Once the action is performed, there is a field to be flagged indicating the user has completed the action. However, with all these measures, still there are users able to perform the action twice, are there any more safer methods?

Before I start to develop I've to know if there's any objects that my touch screen display can recognize? Which device can be recognizable by a smartphone display? I'm interested to know that for iPhone or for Android phone. I found this app and you can see that with a card I can interact with a mobile device, now I'm asking you if anyone know how to do this kind of app with an iPhone or with an Android phone. Does anyone knows how to do that? There's a library (iOS or Android) to recognize object that I put over the display?

• Wpf button click when application window is not active

  I have a WPF application window with a button (ButtonA) which has a command binding to a View Model property. When another application is launched the focus is lost and application window is deactivated. Clicking ButtonA now doesn’t execute the command but instead only activates the window and sets the focus to the button. 2nd click is required to fire the command. The desired functionality is on click of ButtonA while the application window is not active, the application window activates and command associated with ButtonA is executed. I have also tried removing the command and adding a click handler for test purpose but this displays same behaviour. I appreciate any help with this issue.

• Adding custom fields to users in django

  I am the create_user() function that Django provides to create my users. Also I want to store additional information about the users. So I tried following the instructions given at http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/topics/auth/#storing-additional-information-about-users but I cannot get it to work for me. Is there a step-by-step guide that I can follow to get this to work for me? Also, once I have added these custom fields, I would obviously need to add / edit / delete data from them. I cannot seem to find any instructions on how to do this.

  I have a simple GAE app that includes a login/logout link. This app is running on the dev server at the moment. The base page handler gets the current user, and creates a login/logout url appropriately. I have the three following tables: users (id, name) products (id, name) owners (userid, productid, date) One product can be sold by user A to user B and then back to A. Now, I want the list of all products currently owned by every single user with the date of transaction. Currently, my query is this one, but I'm stuck with old data (first association of one product to one user, and not the newest one): SELECT users.name, products.name, date FROM products JOIN owners ON products.id = owners.id JOIN users ON owners.id = user.id GROUP BY product.id Do you have some hints? • How can I set up multiple dynamic users to update a single network's dynamic IP

  On my home network we are allocated a dynamic IP. I want to configure ddclient (or an equivalent) to send IP updates to DNS-O-Matic/OpenDNS only when I am on my home network. I do not want to send IP updates when I'm on my office network. Can this be done? I am prepared to use different FLOSS software or a different free DNS service. Additionally, there are multiple users who may be on the home network or away on other networks. How can we configure ddclient on each machine so that whoever is on the home network updates the IP (i.e. so we don't have to rely on a particular machine being on the network to update the IP). OpenDNS support have said we can't simply install updater software on each machine.

• Could I use directory junctions (symbolic link) to share music between 2 users in Windows 7

  I want to have 2 users be able to use the same itunes library and be able to sync an ipod which ever user is logged in. I tried making both the My Music folders point to the same folder, but that didn't work. One itunes would not store its library info in that folder. I was wondering if I could create a junction directory so that I can have both My Music folders redirect to a common library folder. I've only read about directory junctions , I havn't tried them.

  We have several users in the field with MacBooks. Because they're not always on the network, they save files locally to their notebooks. Normally I back things up by making quick copies to other media, but with the Macs they have the option to run Time Machine (and the way OS X is designed, they're heavily encouraged to use it.) Question; for maintaining Macs and data, how reliable and thorough is Time Machine for backup/restoration? Does it just back up the user's home directory, or can it restore the Mac if, for example, the drive fails? And are there options for "securing" the data like corporate backup software for Windows does, to encrypt the data on the time machine drive?

I've decided to go with jenkin's own user database as a security realm instead of LDAP. i'm adding the users one by one. Now in the Assign Roles screen, i have global roles like administrator, read only etc... and i have project specific roles like prod_a_developer, prod_b_developer... For each user, do i have to both assign one of the global roles for him and also assign a specific project role ? Also, how do i assign a user to a group ? instead of assigning each user a global role i want to assign a group a global role. not so trivial, Can someone please help me ? Thanks.

• Redirect users to internal webpage on first visit

  I have a lan of maybe 20 - 30 computers, and a Windows server 2003 server on hand (I can also run any x86 Linux distro). What I am trying to do, is to redirect users to a webserver inside the LAN the first time they visit certain domains. For example, the first time a user visits "google.com", they will be redirected to 192.168.1.2 (a webserver, where they will be shown a custom webpage), attempts after that will go to google. Pretty much what I am trying to do, is to provide a captive server like service, showing people a custom webpage the first time they try to access certain websites (but not others). I'm pretty flexable on how this can be done, as long as it works. Can you guys give me an idea on how to approach this problem? I am looking for (hopefully) a free solutions. Thanks

  I have a client that requires a massive amount of storage space but: Doesn't want to spend very much money Needs remote users (across the country) to be able to pull data from it and store to it, as well. Can this be done with an NAS Server such as the Western Digital Sharespace Network Storage System? I do not believe the client wants to spend over $1400 and HP is offering 8TB for $1299. • UAC-account-users can't see their mounted network-drives

  I wrote a few login batches in the Group Policy Management which mount specified devices to specified usergroups. The batches work as they should as long UAC is disabled. My problem is that the UAC-account-users can't see their mounted network-drives because the login scripts run in elevated context. I tried to fix the problem with PsExec (-l) so that the network-folders are mapped with limited user rigths. But it seems that this won't work. (PsExec is already installed on all computers so it can work local.) Has anyone an idea how to fix that problem? I spended a long time in trying to fix the problem but I did not find any solutions about THIS problem.

  Hi, I use a USB HDD a lot between lots of different Windows Boxes. What I find after a while is that there get to be lots of different Permission on the files in some cases stopping me looking at files or removing them. They want Admin rights or even sometimes you need to put the disk back into the original machine with the original user. This is a right pain. Is there away of making the disk have Modify All for All Users and making this the default for all files on the disk. Thanks

• DNS server redirect users on first visit

  I am looking for a DNS level solution, that redirects a user to a specific IP on the first visit, than directs them to the correct IP on subsequent visits. So the idea is, for example, if a user visits "malicioussite.com", the first time they try to resolve that DNS name, it resolves to the IP of an internal web server, showing them a warning. On subsequent resolves, the users would get the actual IP, so they can visit the site. How can this be achieved? I am really flexible on what I can use, as long as its on the DNS level.

• Samba users are writing files with the same owner

  I created a Samba share and 3 users (Marc, Mary and Paul), both in Ubuntu (12.04 LTS) and Samba. Then I configured 3 Win7 computers to access the share, each with different credentials. I created 3 folders, one for every user, and chown'd them to the related user, chmod'd them to 0700 and even restarted Samba. Every time that Mary or Paul create a file or a directory in the share, it ends up to be owned by Marc. They all can access the Marc folder, but none can open Mary's or Paul's. Can you help me with this problem? What am I missing?

• Access Denied on a Drive where All Users list have been deleted in Security Tab

  Hi All, (System is Windows 7 x64) I wanted to restrict access of other people in a certain drive of my computer (Harddisk 1 is partitioned to C & D; I want to restrict Drive D). What I did was go to the Security Tab (under Drive Properties) and remove the All Users entry. My account is an administrator account. I left only Systems and Administrator on the list. However, when I tried to access drive D, I got an Access Denied error, and Security Tab is already missing. I tried to edit Local Group Policy; it does not work. Take Ownership is not available for the Drive as well, but I see it enabled if I select files / folders. Please help. Thanks. Also, I am wondering why, as an Administrator, have my access to that drive denied.

• Apache - how to serve pages with users other than www-data

  I have a webserver that uses apache. When I do a ls -l on /var/www/project1/public_html and /var/www/project2/public_html, I see that they are owned by projectuser1 and projectuser2 respectively. On some of other servers I've looked at, both /var/www/project1/public_html and /var/www/project2/public_html are owned by only www-data. How would I go about changing these ownerships to projectuser1 and projectuser2 such that these new users can login to their areas and manage their own websites? I created a user projectuser1 then did a chown -R projectuser1 /var/www/project1, but any time projectuser1 adds a new file to the directory, Apache gives me a Permission Error. If do a chown -R www-data /var/www/project1, then everything works again. Ultimately, I want apache to serve the /var/www/project1 directory with projectuser1 owning it.

I want to know how do web hosting companies give so many public IPs to so many users and each of them has root login also. How this is technically done that is what I am interested to know. I do not know how you people configure it. In my case if I have to do I will buy a public IP from some one and connect my server to it and at max give some people SSH access to it.In case of Web hosting companies how is it done.
