• How to compile all source files (default make target does not compile all of them)

  Hi, when I compile android (http://source.android.com/download) it does not compile some source files. For example there is external/bluetooth/bluez/sbc/sbc.c which is not compiled. There are also other such files. It's possible those files need not to be compiled. Or it might be that I need some special configuration to compile them. Either way, if it is possible, I'd like to compile them. Is there some way to do it? Maybe some "compile_all" make target? (I believe the reason why I want to compile all source files is not important)

• How to get default Ctrl+Tab functionality in WinForms MDI app when hosting WPF UserControls

  I have a WinForms based app with traditional MDI implementation within it except that I'm hosting WPF based UserControls via the ElementHost control as the main content for each of my MDI children. This is the solution recommended by Microsoft for achieving MDI with WPF although there are various side effects unfortunately. One of which is that my Ctrl+Tab functionality for tab switching between each MDI child is gone because the tab key seems to be swallowed up by the WPF controls. Is there a simple solution to this that will let the Ctrl+tab key sequences reach my WinForms MDI parent so that I can get the built-in tab switching functionality?

• How can I prevent OpenVPN from clobbering local route?

  I have a local network on 192.168.1.0 with netmask 255.255.255.0. When I connect to a VPN though OpenVPN (as a client), it pushes a route for 192.168.1.0 that clobbers the existing one, making my local network inaccessible. I don't to access anything on 192.168.1.0 on the remote machine; I'd like to just ignore it, while accepting the other routes that are pushed. My client is Ubuntu 10.10. How can I skip the one offending route?

• Extra fulltext ordering criteria beyond default relevance

  I'm implementing an ingredient text search, for adding ingredients to a recipe. I've currently got a full text index on the ingredient name, which is stored in a single text field, like so: "Sauce, tomato, lite, Heinz" I've found that because there are a lot of ingredients with very similar names in the database, simply sorting by relevance doesn't work that well a lot of the time. So, I've found myself sorting by a bunch of my own rules of thumb, which probably duplicates a lot of the full-text search algorithm which spits out a numerical relevance. For instance (abridged): ORDER BY [ingredient name is exactly search term], [ingredient name starts with search term], [ingredient name starts with any word from the search and contains all search terms in some order], [ingredient name contains all search terms in some order], ...and so on. Each of these is defined in the SELECT specification as an expression returning either 1 or 0, and so I order by those in sequential order. I would love to hear suggestions for: A better way to define complicated order-by criteria in one place, say perhaps in a view or stored procedure that you can pass just the search term to and get back a set of results without having to worry about how they're ordered? A better tool for this than MySQL's fulltext engine -- perhaps if I was using Sphinx or something [which I've heard of but not used before], would I find some sort of complicated config option designed to solve problems like this? Some google search terms which might turn up discussion on how to order text items within a specific domain like this? I haven't found much that's of use. Thanks for reading!

  Is there an easy way to set the Localizable property to true for newly created usercontrols / forms? The scope of the setting should ideally be a solution or a project. In other words I want to say that this project/solution should be localizable, and then if I add a new form or control VS should automatically set the property to true. Edit: Although custom templates are possible, in a larger team they might not be always used. So it's more about enforcing a policy, ensuring that the team members do not ommit to set the property for the projects/solutions where it is a requirement that all forms/controls containing text resources should be localizable. Note: Team Foundation Server is not an Option.

  I have set up the user defaults to record a integer for a UISlider, the problem is that, if the user has only just installed the app then the integer is zero or NULL. • ASP C# Web Developer default login, getting user ID session value

  I've used the built-in wizard in Visual Web Developer 2008 to create a simple login system. I'd like to get hold of the logged in user's ID, but I'm not sure how. Peeking in the ASPNETDB.MDF in the table aspnet_Users, the column appears to be called "UserId". I gave it a go: Response.Write("ID: " + Session["UserId"]); but it's coming up blank. How do I do this? (This is not for a live project, no need to point out the sillyness in using the wizard.) Thanks

  Hi everybody. I'm having problems installing pyobjc on SnowLeopard. It came with python 2.6 but I need 2.5 so I have installed 2.5 successfully. After that I have installed xcode. After that I have installed pyobjc with "easy_install-2.5 pyobjc" But when I start my python 2.5 and from cmd line try to import Foundation, it says "no module named Foundation" Of course, from 2.6 everything works fine. How do I find out what's wrong and what should i do?

• Default values for model fields in a Ruby on Rails form

  I have a Model which has fields username, data, tags, date, votes. I have form using form_for that creates a new item and puts it into the database. However, as you can guess I want the votes field to equal 0 and the date field to equal the current date when it is placed into the database. How and where would I set/apply these values to the item? I can get it to work with hidden fields in the form but this comes with obvious issues (someone could set the votes field to a massive number.

• Apache Tomcat under Windows: Changing webapps default directory

  I am deploying my Java application with Ant. Unfortunately my test deployment on the local machine doesn't work because of Vista. The Program Files directionaries are protected and i don't want to start Ant or Eclipse as an Admin. So i had the idea to move my webapps folder to a workspace subfolder, so i can use relative paths in Ant as well. The solutions seems to be to modify the Host element in the server.xml. With Linux it isn't such a deal: <Host name="localhost" appBase="/path/to/webapps" unpackWARs="true" autoDeploy="true" xmlValidation="false" xmlNamespaceAware="false"> But with Windows i don't get it right.   I'm doing the following code to filter a list of objects before it gets sent off to be printed. Dim printList As New List(Of dispillPatient) For Each pat As dispillPatient In patList If (From meds In pat.Medication Select meds Where meds.Print = True).Count > 0 Then Dim patAdd As New dispillPatient patAdd = pat patAdd.Medication = DirectCast((From meds In pat.Medication Select meds Where meds.Print = True).ToList, List(Of dispillMedication)) printList.Add(patAdd) End If Next What is happening is patList, which is my initial list, for every dispillPatient inside of it, that specific patients Medication object (which is another list), is being shorten to the list that is returned to the patAdd object. I think this has something to do with both the way that .NET makes the copy of my pat object when I do patAdd = pat and the LINQ query that I'm using. Has anyone had a similar issue before and\or what can I do to keep my initial list from getting truncated. Thanks

  So with a little help I figured out how to setup these routes and I can set them in rc.local route add -net 208.82.236.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 dev ppp0 metric 1 route add -net 208.82.236.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 dev eth0 metric 10 my question is being that the first route is ppp0 as soon as I disconnect the modem the route is dropped how do I maintain the route or make it permanent so that next time the modem connects it will follow the route. • Jeditable setting default selected value after change.

  My app allows the user to update a field via a drop down box using jeditable. When the program is loaded i created this function to get the selected value and set it as the selected value in jeditable. • Weird routing problems with VPN

  In our VPN setup I have to add a route to my routing table like this: route add 1.2.3.0 mask 255.255.255.0 172.16.1.1 -p Our internal addresses 1.2.3.x then use 172.16.1.1 as their gateway and both my local internet and work VPN can work at the same time. However, when I disconnect from VPN and reconnect again, I can't ping our servers even though the connection status is "Connected". When I do route print my previously added route is listed but it doesn't seem to work. So I try to execute that 'route add' command again and as expected, it tells me that The route addition failed: The object already exists. But - and that's the point - when I now try to ping our servers again, everything works! So every time, I have to execute this route add command that will fail but fix the issue at the same time. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong? My PC is Windows 7 x64, I am Administrator, UAC is enabled and the command prompt is run with elevated privileges.
