  • how to configure jetty 7 to use syslog or log4j

    I am looking for a way to direct all the jetty 7 logging to syslog. My current configuration dumps everything to JETTY_HOME/logs/.. After some initial ivestigation, it seems I should change JETTY_HOME/etc/jetty-logging.xml, but this does not look straightforward. It looks like I should create a new PrintStream implementation which sends its output to syslog and redirecting stderr and stdout to that class in jetty-logging.xml. any easier way to do that or to make jetty log directly to log4j ?   • Make sure bad patterns don't come back after refactoring

    I'm refactoring an old C code. The code has absolutely no layered architecture (everything is being accessed by everything) and I'm trying to change that. I would like to cut direct access to structure members (at least write for now) and only allow access through access functions. Is there some tool (or perhaps directly the compiler) that could check this rule for me? I need this since I'm maintaining a fork and the upstream isn't very concerned with code quality.

    I wonder how to list content of tar file only down to some level? I understand "tar tvf mytar.tar" will list all files, but sometimes I wish I can just see directories down to some level. Similarly for command "ls" how to control the level of subdirectories that will be displayed? By default, it will only show the direct subdirectories, but not further. Thanks and regards

  • Doctrine 1.2: Can a model have two instances of the sluggabl behavior?

    I dont see any direct mention on using multiple slugs (or any behavior for that matter) for single model. Is there a way to use the sluggable behavior to generate two separate slugs for a model? For example i need to generate two slugs for every record a product_id consisting of a slugified company name and sku and a distributor_id consisting of a different slugified company name. Obviously i could write this myself fairly easily, im just wondering if this can be done quickly with Sluggable.

    How can I programmatically retrieve the current connection type (eg. LAN or Direct connection)? InternetGetConnectedState() isn't very reliable. For instance, I'm connected to a wireless network, but ConTypeRet is 18, which is INTERNET_CONNECTION_LAN & INTERNET_RAS_INSTALLED. Isn't there any way to make sure that ConTypeRet is either INTERNET_CONNECTION_LAN or INTERNET_CONNECTION_MODEM?

    Hello Again, I posted a question on here and got an answer within minutes I'm hoping the wizards on here can help me again. Okay so I'm using a script I found online to try and add this function to a shopping cart form. Here's the setup. I have a payment method dropdown with Visa, Mastercard and Bank Withdrawal as the options. For the credit cards I have one hidden div with a certain set of fields, and for the bank I have another hidden div.     I know I can pass a function pointer as a template parameter and get a call to it inlined but I wondered if any compilers these days can inline an 'obvious' inline-able function like: inline static void Print() { std::cout << "Hello\n"; } .... void (*func)() = Print; func(); Under Visual Studio 2008 its clever enough to get it down to a direct call instruction so it seems a shame it can't take it a step further?

I want to reduce the number of triangle without affecting shape of object. for eg, I have two triangles, (1,1.5,2) (1.5,1.5,2) (1.7,2,2) (1.5,1.5,2) (1.7,2,2) (2,1.5,2) In this case these two triangle is same as a single triangle - (1,1.5,2) (2,1.5,2) (1.7,2,2) I dont want the manual method, But if there is any direct function or such thing which will reduce my triangle list. An incomplete solution would be just to remove the "delete" and "edit" buttons from the index view, but that doesn't disable their ability to do so via direct HTTP requests. I thought I recalled a way to inject privileged members into a function/object (and found an overwhelming occurrence of "no such thing as private in JS") and yet I can't find any resources indicating how. I'm trying to read through the properties of .prototype but if there's a way, someone out here would know where to direct me faster than I'd find on my own. Thanks
