  So I've just started configuring Nagios in my environment and I'm getting the above error when trying to user the NRPE plugin. The host file is as follows: define { host_name servername alias servername address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx use generic-host } define service { use generic-service host_name servername service_description CPU load check_command check_nrpe!alias_cpu } This is the check_nrpe.cfg file that is located in /etc/nagios-plugins/config NOTE: this command runs a program $ARG1$ with arguments $ARG2$ define command { command_name check_nrpe command_line /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_nrpe -H $HOSTADDRESS$ -c $ARG1$ -a $ARG2$ } NOTE: this command runs a program $ARG1$ with no arguments define command { command_name check_nrpe_1arg command_line /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_nrpe -H $HOSTADDRESS$ -c $ARG1$ } Any ideas what is wrong or where to start to solve this?

  Hi all, I have a server with Exchange 2007 installed and I want to move over to Exchange 2010, I want to install Exchange 2010 onto a new server, what is the best way of moving all mailboxes and config over to the new Exchange 2010 server? Both would be on the same LAN in the same domain. I've yet to install Exchange 2010 if that makes a difference. Thanks Scott

• Ierrs on Network Interface - Pfsense/Freebsd

  Hello all, We're using PfSense as an internal router/firewall (no connection to WAN). Using the Web-GUI, under Status --- Interfaces, there's one particular interface where I have some errors: In/out errors 3513/0 I then SSHed to the firewall to validate the info provided by the WebGUI and here's the output: # netstat -ni -I bce2 Name Mtu Network Address Ipkts Ierrs Opkt Oerrs Coll bce2 1500 <Link#3> 00:23:7d:cd:a2:a2 1404522323 3513 749797131 0 0 bce2 1500 10.42.1.0/24 10.42.1.24 6 - 6 - - As you can see, both present the same info (errors on incoming packets). I switched cables, changed network card, changed port on switch and I still see the errors. My 2 questions really are: 1) Is there any way I could get more info on the nature of these errors? or is this all I can get? 2) Should I be worried about this? As you can see, the errors are a VERY LOW percentage of all the total incoming packets. In other words, is this normal on a high-traffic gigabit interface? Thanks! JFA

• pGina with automatic Kerberos ticket and OpenAFS token/ticket

  I am currently updating our educational Windows lab images from XP to 7, In doing so we are also migrating from Comtarsia to pGina. Unfortunately somewhere in the transition our automation that fetched kerberos and OpenAFS tickets/tokens on login has completely stopped functioning. Basically what used to happen was, using kfw-3.2.2 and the old OpenAFS release (loopback adapter days), either comtarsia would share password or something with the NIM (Network Identity Manager) which would authenticate against the kerberos server gaining a ticket and AFS token needed to access the users file, this was aided by the fact that our ldap database that windows authenticates against is also what kerberos uses to authenticate so usernames/passwords are the same across both services. I have set up all of the tools, albeit newer 64bit versions which seem to have given me less trouble than the previous releases of NIM/OpenAFS/Krb5, as well as setting their configurations back to what we used to use. Unfortunately this seems to be fubar'd in some way, instead all we get now is a OpenAFS token, most likely I assume from the AFScreds tool which operates some kind of integrated login process, although this does not help in getting a kerberos ticket or a afs ticket for which a login box is provided be NIM after the user logs in. Does anyone know IF it is possible to do what we are trying, and if so how? I was considering writing a pGina plugin which would interact with the server itself but this seems slightly like overkill considering that all these applications already exist...

• DDR3 10600 memory running at 533mhz

  I bought a second hand hp dl160 g6 a year ago with 48GB configured in it. I discovered checking with cpu-z and doublechecked with speccy the memory runs at only 533Mhz. I checked the configuration with the HP memory configurator and the banks are populated correctly for max performance. There are 12 banks populated with micron and hynix memory of 4gb, all capable of running 1333mhz. What could me wrong here? We are trying to add a Standard 2008 R2 64 bit domain controller to the forest but for some reason during DCPROMO, we receive the following error: "to install a domain controller into this active directory forest,you must first prepare the forest using "adprep/forestprep" etc We went ahead an ran adprep /forestprep on our established domain controller and allowed time to replicate. When attempting to execute dcpromo again, we receive the same error. What gives?

  I'm having a problem adding the DNS server role to my Windows 2008 Server domain controller. Normally, when I use dcpromo to create a new domain, the DNS service gets installed automatically without error. However, I'm getting this fatal 0x80070643 error. It has nothing to do with my network adapters not having an IP address (as stated by Microsoft), since one of my NICs has a static IP. Has anyone else seen this issue before?

• Tunnel into Sonicwall VPN while on Sonicwall wifi?

  Hey all, I am able to hit my company's VPN while I am at home using a dedicated IP with no issue. When I am at work, the VPN we use (a Sonicwall router/VPN/wifi access point), I can get outside internet fine, but am unable to connect to the VPN. I know that the wifi puts me on a different subnet, and when I try to connect to the normal VPN IP it won't work, and a traceroute just times out. Any suggestions? Might there be an internal IP I need to hit while here at work?

Dec 30 18:48:18 10.50.1.50 1567: 001569: .Dec 30 18:48:17: %SPANTREE-2-RECV_BAD_TLV: Received SSTP BPDU with bad TLV on GigabitEthernet0/5 VLAN1. unfortunately, that mac address is the mac of our core router, the only link to the internet, on port gi0/48 On the other end of gi0/5, I have about 50 bridged customer machines connected through a series of managed and unmanaged L2 switches. Yes, on VLAN1 too ... like I said, working on changing this slowly. In the mean time, it has me quite baffled on how to deal with this and track down the customer or switch that is the problem. • Installing a php extension (xdiff) from pecl on Linux

  I was getting this error on my php script: Fatal error: Call to undefined function xdiff_file_diff() I realised that I didn't had the xdiff extension installed. • How do I install PyYAML into local install of Python?

  I've installed Python 2.6.4 into (a subdirectory in) my home directory on a Linux machine with Python 2.3.4 pre-installed, because I need to run some code that I've decided would require too much work to make it run on 2.3.4. (I'm not on the sudoers list for that machine.) I was hoping I could run ~/Python-2.6.4/python setup.py install (from the PyYAML directory in my home directory, where I untarred the PyYAML sources) and it would be smart enough to install it into my local Python 2.6.4 install. But it's not. (See the P.S.) Is it possible to install PyYAML into my local Python install, so that "import yaml" will work when I invoke that Python? If so, how do I do that? P.S. • OpenSolaris / Nexenta problems with NetXen 4-port NIC card (ntxn driver)

  Hello, I'm running NexentaStor Enterprise on an HP ProLiant DL180 G6 server. The onboard NIC interfaces surface as igb0 and igb1 and work well. However, I've added an HP NC375T 4-port network card using the NetXen 3031 chipset. This card should be handled by the ntxn driver in the SUNWntxn package, but that results in "ntxn0: failed to map doorbell" messages upon boot. The network interfaces don't show up. After some research, I found HP's driver package for the card. The release notes for the driver package state: This version of the Driver is supported only on Oracle Solaris 10 5/09 & 10/09. Oracle Solaris 10 5/09 & 10/09 contain an older version of NetXen P3 driver package called SUNWntxn. So, adding another version of NetXen P3 driver package using pkgadd command might result in conflicts with the NetXen driver binary & related files. Users are advised to uninstall native SUNWntxn driver package before installing the new package. • Pre-compiled Iperf 2.x binary for win32?

  I'd like to do some network testing on Windows using Iperf. The latest on sourceforge appears to be 2.0.4. However, it's only available as source to be compiled. I attempted to do some google searching for a pre-compiled version, but all I could find were some links to 1.x stuff. Admittedly, the 1.x version I found does seem to work and I could likely continue using it without issue. But I've got the itch that says I need the latest version and setting up a build VM and dealing with inevitable compile issues doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun. So I figured I'd ask here if anyone knows where to find pre-compiled Iperf 2.x binaries for Windows.

• SCVMM 2008 R2 problems migrating VM from VS2005 to Hyper-V host

  I have System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2 installed, and have a Hyper-V R2 host and a Virtual Server 2005 host. I'm trying to migrate my machines from the VS2005 host to the Hyper-V host, and keep getting the following error... VMM is unable to complete the requested file transfer. The connection to the HTTP server myserver.mydomain.local could not be established. (Unknown error (0x80072efd)) Recommended Action Ensure that the HTTP service and/or the agent on the machine myserver.mydomain.local are installed and running and that a firewall is not blocking HTTPS traffic. (Note - migrations between Hyper-V hosts managed by the VMM server work fine - my problem is just going from VS2005-Hyper-V hosts) I have no firewalls turned on on either of the servers, and no firewalls in the middle. I've looked all over for answers to this problem, and am getting nowhere. All the articles I find when searching are talking about either V2V or P2V - and i'm just trying to do a straight migrate VM. I've tried rebooting the boxes, changing the BITS SSL port number, restarting services, triple-checking firewalls, etc. Does anyone have any good suggestions as to how I can resolve this problem?
