• Proper set up shared folders for users

  First I would like to say thanks for helping, and I have huge problem with proper set up permission for shared folders. I have Windows 7 x64 ent. - name: backupfb - added to domain with shared folder on drive e: (e:\backup) 50 clients/laptops with TSM Tivoli fastback for workstations who save files on shared folder And I need to configure proper permission for my shared folders that only owner of folder can access to their folders. Folder structure is: e:\backup <- shared as a "backup" folder \\backupfb\backup\ e:\backup\BackupAdmin <-- directory is used by the Tivoli Storage Manager FastBack for Workstations client to download revisions and configurations. Nodes require read-only access to these directories e:\backup\RealTimeBackup <-- enable client accounts to create directories that are only accessible by the account that created them. As a result, the directory that contains data for a node is not created until that node connects to the server. When I change props. to "This folder, subfolders and files" and save its change to "Subfolders and files only" So I try use icacls to set up permissions @echo off takeown /F E:\backup\ /R /A for /D %%i IN (E:\backup\RealTimeBackup*) DO icacls E:\backup\RealTimeBackup\%%~nxi /grant:r cloud\%%~nxi:F /T /C pause but after that user are able to create just one folder in \backupfb\backup\RealTimeBackup\userfolder but problem is with subfolders In log i have: FBW5022E Unable to access the specified file Explanation: The file specified is unable to be accessed. Possibly spelled incorrectly, or bad path, or permissions. User response: Ensure the user has the proper permissions for the file and directories involved andthat the file and directory exist Any idea ?? pls help ;-) thanks

  Is there a way in Visual SourceSafe to move a file from one directory to another while retaining its history? Edit I actually found a round about way to do this. First I drag the file I want to move to the directory I want to move it to, this creates a "Link" to the file there and then I "permanently destroy" the file in its original location. Does this actually do what I thing it does?

How to make that all files of arg would be selected, when explorer window is opened..?

• How do I get folder size with Exchange Web Services 2010 Managed API?

  I'm attempting to use EWS 2010 Managed API to get the total size of a user's mailbox. I haven't found a web service method to get this data, so I figured I would try to calculate it. I found one seemingly-applicable question on another site about finding mailbox sizes with EWS 2007, but either I'm not understanding what it's asking me to do, or that method just doesn't work with EWS 2010. Noodling around in the code insight, I was able to write what I thought was a method that would traverse the folder structure recursively and result in a combined total for all folders inside the Inbox: private int traverseChildFoldersForSize(Folder f) { int folderSizeSum = 0; if (f.ChildFolderCount > 0) { foreach (Folder c in f.FindFolders(new FolderView(10000))) { folderSizeSum += traverseChildFoldersForSize(c); } } folderSizeSum += (int)f.ManagedFolderInformation.FolderSize; return folderSizeSum; } (Assumes there aren't more than 10,000 folders inside a given folder. Figure that's a safe bet...) Unfortunately, this doesn't work. I'm initiating the recursion with this code: Folder root = Folder.Bind(svc, WellKnownFolderName.Inbox); int totalSize = traverseChildFoldersForSize(root); But a Null Pointer Exception is thrown, essentially saying that [folder].ManagedFolderInformation is a null object reference. For clarity, I also attempted to just get the size of the root folder: Console.Write(root.ManagedFolderInformation.FolderSize.ToString()); Which threw the same NPE exception, so I know that it's not just that once you get to a certain depth in the directory tree that ManagedFolderInformation doesn't exist. Any ideas on how to get the total size of the user's mailbox? Am I barking up the wrong tree?

• Can't mark email read with InterIMAP, folder is read-only

  I'm trying to mark emails read (/SEEN) with InterIMAP, but this doesn't work. I stepped through the code with debugger, and found out that the response from mail server is "IMAP0078 OK Store ignored with read-only mailbox.", which pretty much tells me why it doesn't work. But it looks like there's no way to tell InterIMAP to open the connection as read-write. If I use something like Thunderbird, I can set the messages as read. Does anyone know how I should use InterIMAP to achieve what I'm trying, or how to change the source code so that I'd be able to mark messages as read?

How can I implement it? Should I have download them in the server before zipping it and download to client?   Hello everybody I'm using Kohana for so long, but the new Version is a litte bit other. My problem with an example: classes/ controller/ pages.php pages/ imprint.php I want to change my Route so, that if i call domain.tld/pages, the pages.php should called with action_index(). But if i call domain.tld/pages/imprint, pages/imprint.php should called with action_index() (and this should work too: pages/imprint/demo - action_demo() in pages/imprint.php) Tried this with bootstrap and http://kohanaframework.org/guide/api/Route this examples, but cant get it work.   Hey Java - Developers Actually I am confronted with a Problem. I've got a ".apk-File" in one Package of my Application. apk is a kind of a jar File (apk = Android Package). I now want to copy this jar-file out of my Programm onto any other Location at the PC. Normally I would do this by using: FileInputStream is = new FileInputStream(this.getClass().getResource("/resources/myApp.apk").getFile()); And then write it on the disk with using a FileOutputStream. ... but since an .apk is a kind of a .jar it doesn't work. It just copies the .apk file. but without the containing other files. any help would be appreciated

  Hi, Our site is currently set to pass all files with the xml file extension through the asp.net worker process because all the xml files on the site at the moment are generated dynamically on being hit, by writing the output directly into the response stream. However we now have a requirement to add a file which is much larger and takes several minutes to generate in this way. I wrote a console app to generate the file and set it to run nightly, but because of the global IIS setting directing xml files to run through asp_wp, it's not being served properly. I can't seem to find a way to make an exemption for the treatment of a single file in the IIS settings. Is there any other way we can do it? Cheers, Matt

  Hi all, quick question about svn checkout best practice. Once the structure of a repository is set up, ie trunk, branches, tags, is it normal to have the root checked out to our local machines. Or should you only check out the trunk if that's what you are working on or a branch if we so choose to create one. The reason i ask is that every time someone creates a branch or tag we all get a copy when we do an update. btw, we're recently migrated from vss.

• Cleaning up temp folder after long-running subprocess exits

  I have a Python script (running inside another application) which generates a bunch of temporary images. I then use subprocess to launch an application to view these. When the image-viewing process exists, I want to remove the temporary images. I can't do this from Python, as the Python process may have exited before the subprocess completes. I.e I cannot do the following: p = subprocess.Popen(["imgviewer", "/example/image1.jpg", "/example/image1.jpg"]) p.communicate() os.unlink("/example/image1.jpg") os.unlink("/example/image2.jpg") ..as this blocks the main thread, nor could I check for the pid exiting in a thread etc The only solution I can think of means I have to use shell=True, which I would rather avoid: cmd = ['imgviewer'] cmd.append("/example/image2.jpg") for x in cleanup: cmd.extend(["&&", "rm", x]) cmdstr = " ".join(cmd) subprocess.Popen(cmdstr, shell = True) This works, but is hardly elegant, and will fail with filenames containing spaces etc.. Basically, I have a background subprocess, and want to remove the temp files when it exits, even if the Python process no longer exists.

I have never worked on linux and dont plan on working on it either - The only command I probably know is "ls" :) I am hosting my website on Eapps and use their cpanel to setup everything so never worked with linux. Now I have this one time case - where I need to provide access to a contractor to fix the CSS issues on my website. He basically needs FTP (read/write) access to certain folders. At a high level - this is my code structure /home/webadmin/example.com/html/images /css /js /login.php /facebook.php /home/webadmin/example.com/application/library /views /models /controllers /config /bootstrap.php /home/webadmin/example.com/cgi-bin I want the new user to be able to have access to only these folders /home/webadmin/example.com/html/js /home/webadmin/example.com/html/css /home/webadmin/example.com/application/views He should not be able to view even the content of other folders including files like bootstrap.php or login.php etc If any sys admins can help me set this account up - will really appreciate it. • Prevent command "del /s" from entering a folder

  I need to recursively remove unnecessary files from a svn repository and i have the following batch file to do this: @echo on del /s ~*.* del /s *.~* del /s Thumbs.db However, this is also deleting the entries under the .svn/ subfolders. Is there any way to prevent this commands from being executed under the .svn/ folders so that it doesn't mess things up? Thanks in advance! EDIT: A solution using Bash (cygwin) would also work for me since i just need to do this once.
