  • NET Framework Validation Library

    - by Kane
As I see it most applications have a requirement for some form of validation and a number of fantastic free offerings are available (I.E., Fluent Validation, Validation Block, Spring, Castle Windsor, etc). My question is why does the .NET Framework not include any inbuilt validation libraries? I am aware the .NET Framework allows a developer the ability to build their own validation libraries/methods/etc. and anything provided as part of the .NET Framework would not always meet everyone’s needs. But surely something could have been included? ASP.NET has a minimal set of validators but these have not really been extended since .NET 2.0 was released.

  • Python: Attractive, clean, packagable windows GUI library

    - by Parand
I need to create a simple windows based GUI for a desktop application that will be downloaded by end users. The application is written in python and will be packaged as an installer or executable. The functionality I need is simple - selecting from various lists, showing progress bars, etc. No animations, sprites, or other taxing/exotic things. Seems there are quite a few options for Python GUI libraries (Tk, QT, wxPython, Gtk, etc). What do you recommend that: Is easy to learn and maintain Can be cleanly packaged using py2exe or something similar Looks nice

  • is Boost Library's weighted median broken?

    - by user624188
    I confess that I am no expert in C++. I am looking for a fast way to compute weighted median, which Boost seemed to have. But it seems I am not able to make it work. #include <iostream> #include <boost/accumulators/accumulators.hpp> #include <boost/accumulators/statistics/stats.hpp> #include <boost/accumulators/statistics/median.hpp> #include <boost/accumulators/statistics/weighted_median.hpp> using namespace boost::accumulators; int main() { // Define an accumulator set accumulator_set<double, stats<tag::median > > acc1; accumulator_set<double, stats<tag::median >, float> acc2; // push in some data ... acc1(0.1); acc1(0.2); acc1(0.3); acc1(0.4); acc1(0.5); acc1(0.6); acc2(0.1, weight=0.); acc2(0.2, weight=0.); acc2(0.3, weight=0.); acc2(0.4, weight=1.); acc2(0.5, weight=1.); acc2(0.6, weight=1.); // Display the results ... std::cout << " Median: " << median(acc1) << std::endl; std::cout << "Weighted Median: " << median(acc2) << std::endl; return 0; } produces the following output, which is clearly wrong. Median: 0.3 Weighted Median: 0.3 Am I doing something wrong? Any help will be greatly appreciated. * however, the weighted sum works correctly * @glowcoder: The weighted sum works perfectly fine like this. #include <iostream> #include <boost/accumulators/accumulators.hpp> #include <boost/accumulators/statistics/stats.hpp> #include <boost/accumulators/statistics/sum.hpp> #include <boost/accumulators/statistics/weighted_sum.hpp> using namespace boost::accumulators; int main() { // Define an accumulator set accumulator_set<double, stats<tag::sum > > acc1; accumulator_set<double, stats<tag::sum >, float> acc2; // accumulator_set<double, stats<tag::median >, float> acc2; // push in some data ... acc1(0.1); acc1(0.2); acc1(0.3); acc1(0.4); acc1(0.5); acc1(0.6); acc2(0.1, weight=0.); acc2(0.2, weight=0.); acc2(0.3, weight=0.); acc2(0.4, weight=1.); acc2(0.5, weight=1.); acc2(0.6, weight=1.); // Display the results ... std::cout << " Median: " << sum(acc1) << std::endl; std::cout << "Weighted Median: " << sum(acc2) << std::endl; return 0; } and the result is Sum: 2.1 Weighted Sum: 1.5

  • sqlite3 DELETE problem "Library Routine Called Out Of Sequence"

    - by Michael Bordelon
Here is my second stupid Noob problem. I am trying to do a simple Delete and I keep blowing up on the prepare step. I already have other Deletes, Inserts, Updates and Selects working. I am sure it is something simple. • Find out why Xcode has decided to link to a particular library

    - by andygeers
I'm using the Unity 3D engine to build an iPhone app, and when I go to generate my Xcode project for compilation, it includes a few fairly large libraries: Mono.Security.dll.s, System.dll.s, System.Core.dll.s, etc. I don't know if this question is really an Xcode question or a Unity question, but I'm trying to figure out why each of those libraries is being linked - which functions / classes are being referenced - ideally so that I can rewrite my code to remove as many of the dependencies as possible. Does anybody know a way to find this information out?

  • Three20 Library Cannot find its own headers Xcode iPhone

    - by DieLaughing
import "Three20/Three20.h" Fails. Go download it and build a sample app. If that works, then make a new app from the templates provided, then watch as it fails spectacularly to find the right HEADER_SEARCH_PATH. 1) I've gone to the info page for the TARGET and not the PROJECT (Well, I tried both) and tried a bunch of different paths for the HEADER_SEARCH_PATH field. 2) I've tried dragging and dropping the dependent files from the finder and COPYING or just referencing both fails. (RANT: WTF?! Really? I wish public code libraries saved me time ONCE in my life.)

  • How to force adodb php library to use lowercase field names

    - by spam
I'm trying to use adodb for db access in my webapp. However my hosting provider has mysql case sensitive, and I have all my fields in lowercase. But when I call getInsertSQL function, I got them in uppercase. Is there a way to force adodb to use lowercase? I tried with define('ADODB_ASSOC_CASE', 0); $ADODB_ASSOC_CASE = 0; But it seems to be ignored as the constant is suppose to be used only with oracle, MSSQL and other DBMS $conn = &ADONewConnection($this->DbType); $conn = PConnect($dbServer,$dbUser, $dbPassword,$database); $tableName = "sample"; $insertSQL = $conn->GetInsertSQL($tableName,$objDB); And I got the SQL statement with the column names in uppercase.

  • VC++2008 Debugger doesn't find library sources

    - by Stefan Monov
An exception got thrown from a lib I use in my project. As I looked at the callstack, I clicked at the lib function that threw the exception. An "Open File" dialog popped up, prompting me to tell it where the lib source is located. Now clearly something is wrong. This should happen automatically somehow. How do I tell VS where to look for all files from that lib?

  • mocking static method call to c# library class

    - by Joe
This seems like an easy enough issue but I can't seem to find the keywords to effect my searches. I'm trying to unit test by mocking out all objects within this method call. I am able to do so to all of my own creations except for this one: public void MyFunc(MyVarClass myVar) { Image picture; ... picture = Image.FromStream(new MemoryStream(myVar.ImageStream)); ... } FromStream is a static call from the Image class (part of c#). So how can I refactor my code to mock this out because I really don't want to provide a image stream to the unit test.

  • How to learn a C++ GUI library effectively?

    - by Chan
Hello everyone, I have many options for GUI in my head while searching in stackoverflow, but these are what I chose among others: Qt gtkmm GTK+ I used GTK+ couple years ago, and I felt so painful when using C API without string object and containers. I prefer C++ style, I then switched to C++ gtkmm, but the documentation was bad at that time. I found no help when encountering an issue. Now I want to give a hard try for Qt4, but I really want to know how to learn a GUI librarie effectively. With core C++, I usually pick up a problem and try to solve it in different ways using that particular technique, functionality. On the other hand, after skimming through the documentation from Qt site, I don't think this way of studying is applicable, since the GUI classes and APIs are so much bigger. Plus I'm still in school, so I won't have much time to play all the day long with it. How do you guys learn GUI before? Can anyone share some experiences how they learn thing, that would be an invaluable input for me! Best regards, Chan Nguyen

  • Is there a Javascript library for editing PDFs?

    - by Fletcher Moore
Based on my Google and stackoverflow search I'm guessing no, but it can't hurt to ask. The goal is: store some blank forms on my server. Then present these to the user, who edits the form in the browser with Javascript and submits the form back to the server. The client wants to reuse parts of an old system (the forms) in which users would download an editable PDF, edit it, and email it back to a secretary. Our users aren't very computer savvy and many don't realize they need to email the forms back, assuming instead the forms somehow get submitted when they save their local changes (or something). I haven't seen the forms yet, so I cannot assess the viability of an alternative.

  • In ADL_Display_ConnectedDisplays_Get() from ATI's ADL Library, the out parameter lpConnections is co

    - by animesh
The API defined in the ADL SDK manual reads: int ADL_Display_ConnectedDisplays_Get(int iAdapterIndex, int* lpConnections) They say that lpConnections is the pointer to the bit field indicating whether the output connectors on the specified adapter have devices physically attached to them. This information is exactly what I want but nowhere in the documentation I could find any data on what the various bits in the lpConnections obtained might mean. I also tried going through the header files but found nothing relevant on this. I know this is very specific to but can anyone here answer?

  • Good Database with C library?

    - by Mohit Deshpande
What is a good database with support for C? I want a database that can persist changes when the program is closing and retrieve them when the user starts up the program. I was thinking maybe like SQLite or Berkeley DB. Some documentation would be great too.

  • Class library assemblies used by Windows Services written in C#

    - by Water Cooler v2
If I write a C# class called Foo and that is compiled into an assembly named FooLib.dll. Then, I write a Windows Service in C# that references FooLib.dll. When I deploy my Windows Service using InstallUtil.exe: a) do I have to explicitly tell it to reference my FooLib.dll? b) where does FooLib.dll get deployed if I mean to deploy it as a private assembly and not in the GAC?

  • Kohana Auth Library Deployment

    - by Steve
My Kohana app runs perfectly on my local machine. When I deployed my app to a server (and adjust the config files appropriately), I can no longer log into the app. I've traced through the app login routine on both my local version and the server version and they both agree with each other all the way through until you get to the auth.php controller logged_in() routine where suddenly, at line 140 - the is_object($this-user) test - the $user object no longer exists!?!?!? The login() function call that calls the logged_in() function successfully passes the following test, which causes a redirect to the logged_in() function. if(Auth::instance()->login($user, $post['password'])) Yes, the password and hash, etc all work perfectly. Here is the offending code: public function logged_in() { if ( ! is_object($this->user)) { // No user is currently logged in url::redirect('auth/login'); } etc... } As the code is the same between my local installation and the server, I reckon it must be some server setting that is messing with me. FYI: All the rest of the code works because I have a temporary backdoor available that allows me to use the application (view pages of tables, etc) without being logged in. Any ideas?
