  Our partner VentureForth is working with us on a solution to use AutoVue in their mobile asset management system. On 10.04, it was easy to configure and connect to internet. Generally, I used DSL settings to configure my net. There I enter my user name, my connection's name and password to connect with net. But now in 11.10 it's not working. What can I do to connect it perfectly?

• Mobile Internet Modem Olivetti Olicard 155 does not work in Ubuntu 12.10

  I have a problem, I bought a 3G mobile modem, but does not work in Ubuntu 12.10, also did not work on Ubuntu 12.04. I installed the USB Modeswitch and has the same flaw, does not recognize the modem within the connection manager, I connect the modem to the USB port and wait up to 20 minutes and does not recognize the modem. I ran the command recognizes the modem and lsusb as "Bus 001 Device 007: ID 0b3c: C004 Olivetti TechCenter." Does anyone have this modem, you can help me solve the problem, or does anyone have a solution? Because the manufacturer does not support Linux and according to some forums usbmodeswitch supports esste model. Olivetti Olicard modem 155.

  I'm currently researching regarding a design for an online (realtime) mobile multiplayer game. As such, i'm taking into consideration that latencies (lag) is going to be high (perhaps higher than PC/consoles). I'd like to know if there are ways to overcome this or minimize the issues of high latency? The model i'll be using is peer-to-peer (using Photon cloud to broadcast messages to all other players). How do i deal with a scenario where a message about a local object's state at time t will only get to other players at *t + HUGE_LAG* ?

• Vodafone mobile broadband dongle doesn't work

  I'm running kubuntu 10.10 and have vodafone mobile broadband dongle. When I plug it in, I can see a 'new cellular connection' , but when I try to connect it shows 'preparing to connect' but never does. I went to 'manage connections' and addded my details, like APN,PIN and PUK. but it still ain't working.. I also tried unchecking MSCHAPv2 and MSCHAP in my PPP settings, but nothing seems to work. what do i do? I'm new to linux.

  The most exciting announcements from Mix 2010 last week for me were the release of the Windows Phone 7 Series SDK and the news that the platform utilizes Silverlight for the application development technology. From the press and exposure that the platform is being given and the experience that is promised it looks like the Windows Phone 7 Series could eventually compete with the iPhone. For me this is exciting as Silverlight can now be used to develop RIA apps, easily deployed desktop apps and mobile apps. As someone who delivers enterprise technology solutions this equates to a whole bunch of opportunity knocking at the door and asking to join the party. • Stream audio to mobile device

  I'd like to stream the audio from Ubuntu 10.10 to my HTC Desire HD (Android 2.2). I've seen solutions so far for streaming from audio players, but I'd like to stream any audio output from the PC to my phone. My use case is for watching TV/Films in VLC or online (BBC iPlayer) in bed, without having to use my surround sound system which is likely to wake up my house mates. I'm not just talking about music from Banshee, but any audio that the system makes. I was thinking that PulseAudio is pretty powerful, is it possible to route audio through that to a mobile device? Can it be done through bluetooth? Cheers in advance!

• Internet Timeouts with TP-Link TL-WN821N wireless usb stick - existing solutions dont work

  I'm running Ubuntu12.04 and I'm trying to get a TP-Link TL-WN821N to work. The solution from Internet Timeouts with TP-Link TL-WN821N v2 wireless usb stick didn't work for me. Neither has anything else... I've installed rtl8192cu as per instructions I found elsewhere to no avail. The symptoms I am experiencing are: When I plug in the device the PC can see and connect to wireless networks fine. The network I'm using has internet access and the signal strength is pretty strong. I can't ping and I can't browse the internet (timeout). Any ideas? I'm not sure what the next step would be or what information would be useful at this point.

One of the persons answering even suggested that granting a fixed IP Address would be a breach of security!I find it very disturbing that two companies that present themselves as innovative should still not be preparing for IPv6. The answer I would have expected was that all new equipment being supplied was IPv6 compatible and that plans were in hand for a switchover to IPv6. Instead new equipment would be supplied that would have to be replaced when IPv6 comes. Equally disturbing was that the call center people who answered did not know why a fixed IP address was important or why the change to IPv6 would have to come.I would rather not name and shame the two companies, however I will be looking elsewhere for my next Internet Service Provider.
