  I'm using OpenSSL to create digital signature fo my application but I'm getting one problem. BIO *in = NULL, *out = NULL, *tbio = NULL; X509 *scert = NULL; EVP_PKEY *skey = NULL; PKCS7 *p7 = NULL; .......................... .......................... **p7 = PKCS7_sign(scert, skey, NULL, in, flags);** I don't know how can we get digital signature from PKCS7 object to put it into specific variable. • Algorithm Question Maximize Average of Functions

  Hello, I have a set of N functions each denoted by Fi(h). Each function returns some value when given an h. I'm trying to figure out a way to maximize the average of all of the functions given some total H value. For example, say each function represents a grade on an assignment. If I spend h hours on assignment i, I will get g = Fi(h) as my grade. I'm given H hours to finish all of the assignments. I want to maximize my average grade for all assignments. Can anyone point me in the right direction to figure this out?

  Hi, I've been working with a Legacy application which interacts with a database through ADODB, and most of the changes to records follow a fairly straightforward pattern of: Create a Recordset from a query Make various change to the recordset call .Update on the recordset. What I'm wondering is, with ADODB recordsets, is there anyway to extract the 'changes'. The logic which changes the recordset is scattered about, and all I need is the changes, not how it was changed...   I have a JSF page that will create a new Comment. The problem I am having right now is that, if I am on A, constructor of A will load, but it will also load constructor of bean B. This make my page load twice as slow. What would be the best way to solve this problem?

• Basic question on retain/release semantics from Apple's reference library

  I have done Objective-C way back when, and have recently (i.e. just now) read the documentation on Apple's site regarding the use of retain and release. However, there is a bit of code in their Creating an iPhone Application page that has me a bit confused: - (void)setUpPlacardView { // Create the placard view -- it calculates its own frame based on its image. PlacardView *aPlacardView = [[PlacardView alloc] init]; self.placardView = aPlacardView; [aPlacardView release]; // What effect does this have on self.placardView?! placardView.center = self.center; [self addSubview:placardView]; } Not seeing the entire class, it seems that self.placardView is also a PlacardView * and the assignment of it to aPlacardView doesn't seem to indicate it will retain a reference to it. So, it appears to me that the line I've commented ([aPlacardView release];) could result in aPlacardView having a retain count of 0 and thus being deallocated. Since self.placardView points to it, wouldn't that now point at deallocated memory and cause a problem?

  We're currently in the process of re-creating a brand new security model that dwarfs our existing process. Right now, we plan on grabbing a user's roles during the login process and then using a Base Page class to check if the user has the role of the corresponding page the user is navigating to. We can limit the menu's options by the user's roles as well, but we have had problems with users navigating to pages in our system by typing them in or having old bookmarks. Obviously, we need some sort of page level access. A simple function in our Base Page class that checks the role in the Arraylist against the page's assigned role would work, but I was wondering if there was any built-in functionality to support this or a cleaner solution possibly.

• Two part question about submitting bluetooth-enabled apps for the iPhone

  I have a couple questions about submitting blue-tooth enabled apps on the iPhone. I want to first say that bluetooth is merely an option in the application. The application does not completely rely on bluetooth as there are many modes the user can go in. First, do they require you to have the "peer-peer" key set in UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities even if bluetooth interface options can be disabled or hidden for non-bluetooth enabled devices? Basically, it's just an OPTION in the game and there are many other modes the player can play.. Does Apple not allow you to do that? I'm just curious, because it seems like something they would do. Adding to that, how do you check for it's functionality at runtime? In essence, how do you check UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities at runtime. I'm aware of checking iPhone device types, so would that be a proper way of going about it? I'm also sort of unaware which devices can run bluetooth gamekit, there doesn't seem to be a proper reference at the SDK site, or I'm unable to find it. Thanks for reading! [edit] I can confirm the existance of somebody rejected for submitting a bluetooth enabled app which didn't work on a iPhone 2G.. Of course, they didn't say if that was the MAIN function of the app, though.

• Newbie Question: Read and Process a List of Text Files

  I'm completely new to .NET and am trying as a first step to write a text processing program. The task is simple: I have a list of 10,000 text files stored in one folder, and I'm trying to read each one, store it as a string variable, then run it through a series of functions, then save the final output to another folder. So far I can only manage to manually input the file path like this (in VB.NET): Dim tRead As System.IO.StreamReader Public Function ReadFile() As String Dim EntireFile As String tRead = File.OpenText("c:\textexample\00001.txt") EntireFile = tRead.ReadToEnd Return EntireFile End Function Public Function Step1() ..... Perhaps for example store all input file path into a text file then read each entry at a time, then save the final output into the save path, again listed in a text file.   I have a Table and a Button. Table's cells have controls LiteralControl and CheckBox. I check some fields and then by click on button i remove these fields from database. On event Page_PreRender i clear Table and then fill it with updated data. Then it shows me Table with updated data. But if i check fields of table again and do a click on a button it wont do what i expected. In Page_Load event i see that it dont save properties of controls. Checked CheckBox controls appears as unchecked.

  Currently I have created a ABCFactory class that has a single method creating ABC objects. Now that I think of it, maybe instead of having a factory, I could just make a static method in my ABC Method. What are the pro's and con's on making this change? Will it not lead to the same? I don't foresee having other classes inherit ABC, but one never knows! Thanks
