  • Internet Explorer 8/9 javascript disable, need to enable back

    Dear all, This is not a programming issue, just want to ask any one having Internet Explorer Javascript disabled issue. I try go to Internet Option enable everything, including javascript restart it. But all the javascript still disabled. I go to jQuery API website, test the javascript, at the Demo part nothing show. Even I write a alert("hello"); in a html file, nothing come out. I am not sure what happen to my Internet Explorer. Initially I am using IE8, I try to update to IE9Beta, IE9RC, the problem start from IE8-IE9RC still haven't resolved. I am not sure what application crash with the IE. Please advice! It is Urgent.     Hello, All! I have a strange behavior on Ubuntu 10.4: few daemons (apache2 and postgresql (8.4SS from enterpriseDB) did not start automatically. Funny things that time-to-to they do. (If I just restart my computer everything looks ok, but if I turn it off for the night, nothing work..., so I have to start them manually) I've googled this problem a little bit, but the only answer I have found was to run: sudo update-rc.d apache2 defaults I've called it but the answer was: System start/stop links for /etc/init.d/apache2 already exist. Any Ideas?

    I need to start up mysqld with command line options as from here: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/server-options.html#option_mysqld_skip-grant-tables I normally do sudo service mysqld start, but passing the option as sudo service mysqld start --skip-grant-tables does not seem to work. Alternatively I have tried starting as a daemon, sudo mysqld_safe --skip-grant-tables & But it seems to terminate too soon: 131101 04:59:57 mysqld_safe Logging to '/var/lib/mysql/vagrant.example.com.err'. 131101 04:59:57 mysqld_safe Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /var/lib/mysql 131101 05:00:03 mysqld_safe mysqld from pid file /var/lib/mysql/vagrant.example.com.pid ended My last option seems to specify the option in /etc/my.cnf instead, but is there any way to do it via the command line?

  • Using sudo /etc/init.d/httpd start complains for log file rights

    I created a custom log directory with the root account, and chmoded it to 777 teporarily. ls -la /var/mylogs/log/ total 16 drwxrwxrwx 2 root root 4096 Jun 24 06:27 . drwxr-xr-x 5 root root 4096 Jun 24 06:25 .. When I try to start the service from a user (lets say "myuser", which is in the sudoers files as myuser ALL=(ALL) ALL), it fails because of the permissions : sudo /etc/init.d/httpd start Starting httpd: (13)Permission denied: httpd: could not open error log file /var/mylogs/log/httpd_error.log. Unable to open logs However, the following is successfull : sudo bash /etc/init.d/http start So I guess these two methods are not equivalent, although to me doing sudo was the same than logging into the root account and issuing the commands. Any clue ? Thank you !

  • Windows audio service fails to automatically start after VirtualBox install

    I'm having a completely nonsensical issue in Windows XP SP3. Basically my "Windows Audio" service no longer starts automatically. Despite being set to "Automatic" I have to manually go in and start it. This issue didn't start until the most recent update of VirtualBox, but I can't find anything on the forums related to this specific issue. I've tried reinstalling the RealTek drivers as well, in the event that that had something to do with it. Any assistance is most appreciated! EDIT 1: It is the host's audio that won't start. The update of Virtualbox was merely the "marker" of when these events started occurring. Given it's the only variable/change I'm assuming a correlation.

Users started to report problems with share, it turned out that server service won't start. I've scrambled google but can't find a thing. Any ideas will be appreciated.     How do I get Ubuntu upstart to not hang on interactive start & stop? I have created many upstart scripts that work fine during init, but often hang when I enter them at the console. If I CTRL+C out, all that happens is that the job changes state. The script is never run. I’m running Ubuntu Lucid on a Xen virtual server with a Linux 2.6.39 kernel.     HI, I have determine that my 2nd server which fail to start because of this entry in conf. Once I remove this entry, the server start up as normal. Alias /Reports/ "//abc/filedir/a/" <Directory "//abc/filedir/a/"> Order allow,deny Allow from all </Directory> I have a primary apache server which is also pointing to the folder with the same setting. I will like to know why the 2nd server failed to start, is it because the server one has locked the folder. //abc is my NAS server running on window 2003. Thanks

  • [iPhone] Background color during flip view animation/transition?

    I have some pretty standing flipping action going on: [UIView beginAnimations:@"swapScreens" context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationTransition:UIViewAnimationTransitionFlipFromLeft forView:self.view cache:YES]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:1.0]; [self.view exchangeSubviewAtIndex:0 withSubviewAtIndex:1]; [UIView commitAnimations]; To Apple's credit, this style of animation is amazingly easy to work with. Very cool, and I've been able to animate transitions, flips, fades etc. throughout the app very easily. Question: During the flip transition, the background visible 'behind' the two views during the flip is white and I'd like it to be black. I've: Set the background of the containing view (self.view above) - no dice. I really thought that would work. Set the background of each view to black - no dice. I didn't think this would work although you give different things a shot to understand better :) Google'd like crazy; keep landing on Safari-related listings. Thanks in advance!

  • Good ways to dynamically generate the start image of an iPhone/iPad app

    I'm self-learning iPhone development and I see that one of the aspects of an iPhone/iPad app is the start image that gets displayed when your app is run. I'd like my start image to display some basic info about the user when the app is launched, but that info has to first be collected by the user when the app is first run. That tells me that I either need to dynamically generate the start image after the user enters their information or I need to place a label of some sort on top of my static start image in order to accomplish this. The first time the app launched and before the user enters their info, the start image can be anything or nothing at all, I'm not concerned about this. So, my two questions are this... Can you place controls, like a label, on top of the start image when your app is launched? If not, what's a good approach to dynamically generating the start image after the app is launched for the first time and the user info is collected? Thanks so much in advance for your help! I'm going to begin researching this question right now.

  • Stall in animation

It displays fine ie drops in from the top but when being removed it stalls just on its way out just for a fraction of second but its noticeable how do i get rid of the stall. I have a text input that on change makes ajax requests to update other elements. As part of this ajaxyness i have an animated gif to show feedback. I also trap the escape key press in this input so as to clear the text field for better UX. My problem is after the escape key is pressed once, none of the ajax gifs animate anymore until the page is refreshed. Does anyone know a workaround? Stuff i've tried: I tried the e.stopPropagation(); and e.cancelBubble = true; in the function handling the e.keyCode == 27 and that didn't seem to work. I suspect that this stops trigging more js events and the browser catches the escape irrespective of js activity. I have the gif showing/hiding via adding/removing a css class so it's difficult to apply the "change gif url to reset" workaround. I dont even know if this works anyway - didn't test it.   • NSOperation for animation loop causes strange scrolling behaviour

    Hi, I've created an animation loop which I run as an operation in order to keep the rest of my interface responsive. Whilst almost there, there is still one remaining issue. My UIScrollViews don't seem to be reliably picking up when a user touch ends. What this means is, for example, if a user drags down on a scroll view, when they lift their fingers the scrollview doesn't bounce back into place and the scrollbar remains visible. As if the finger hasn't left the screen. It takes another tap on the scrollview for it to snap to its correct position and the scrollbar to fade away...     I have a sliding panel and on the last element I want the animation to stop i've tried using the .is(':last') and it doesn't stop. here is my code. the current var is set to the first element when the form loads.   • Drawing animation

    I'm creating a simple app where when the user presses a button, a series of lines will be drawn on the screen and the user will be able to see these lines drawn in real time (almost like an animation). My code looks something like this (has been simplified): UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(CGSizeMake(300,300)); CGContextRef context = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); for (int i = 0; i < 100; i++ ) { CGContextMoveToPoint(context, i, i); CGContextAddLineToPoint(context, i+20, i+20); CGContextSetStrokeColorWithColor(context, [[UIColor blackColor] CGColor]); CGContextStrokePath(context); } UIImage *newImage = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); UIGraphicsEndImageContext(); My problem is that: 1) As soon as the user presses the button, the UIThread blocks until the drawing is done. 2) I can't get the lines to be drawn on the screen one at a time - I've tried setting the UIImage directly inside the loop and also tried setting a layer content inside the loop. How do I get around these problems?

    Hello; I am trying to create an app that will perform actions on specific times (much like the Windows Task Scheduler). I am currently using Process.Start() to lunch the file (or exe) required by the task. I am initiating a process by calling a file (an .mp3) and the process starts WMP (since it is the default application), so far so good. Now I wan't to kill that process. I know that it is normal behavior for the Process.Start(string, string) to return nothing (null in C#) in this case. So I am asking how can i close WMP when I called it through Process.Start(string, string)?? Edit: Please note that I am not opening WMP directly with Process.Start() and this is the line with which I run the process: VB: Me._procs.Add(Process.Start(Me._procInfo)) C#: this._procs.Add(Process.Start(this._procInfo)) _procInfo is a ProcessStartInfo instance. _procInfo.FileName is "C:\route\myFile.mp3". That is why WMP opens. In any case, all of the Start() methods, except for the instance-one which returns a boolean, return nothing (null in C#), because WMP is not the process that was directly created (please note that WMP is run and the song does play).

    For IE7, it's possible to add filter: none; to the body css to disable cleartype on fonts through CSS. I don't like the fuzzy look it gives, and it isn't really consistent across browsers. IE; Firefox and IE6 show it differently. IE8 however, seems to ignore the css option, even when forcing the browser into IE7 compatibility mode using: <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=7" /> TL;DR: How do I disable clear-type fonts in IE8 through CSS?

The processing can be of 10-15 minutes.I want to disable the SAVE button till process ends and once process completes, the SAVE button should be enabled. I tried the following but couldnot solve the problem: 1)Client Side Scripting: I called a java script on client clik of button and set the disable property to true.How ever, server side saveButton_Click event is not called because of disabling the button on client side. 2)Disabling in saveButton_Click method on server side: In this case, as the call of saveButton_Click already happend and requested is sent to server,the client side is as it without any difference until the request is processed.   • Enable PDO for PHP5 on CentOS5 where PHP is configured as '--disable-pdo'

    Hi I have been given access to a CentOS5 machine by my client for their new site which uses Zend Framework. phpinfo() states in Configure Command that PDO is disabled ('--disable-pdo'). How can enable it? Do I need to recompile PHP5 to enable it? I have tried adding 'extension=pdo.so' in php.ini and restarting Apache, but this didn't work. It would also be nice to understand what '--disable-pdo' actaully means, does it mean it's not compiled into PHP or does it mean its just not enabled? Thanks for your time
